So did Akayed Ullah, the New York City subway jihad bomber. This program must be stopped immediately.

Thanks to the criminal 9th Circuit, the doors are wide open, again. Now we have to wait for the Supreme Court to reverse it. That will take months. Time for the Supreme Court to step it up here and put the 9th Circuit in a legal straight jacket on this issue. Since when do a handful of west coast communist elites determine national policy?
Guy Forestersays
The courts have no jurisdiction over security issues. This is the purview of the executive branch, Congress and the SCOTUS made that clear. I will sound like a broken record, but the President, AG, and Solicitor General need to tell the 9th that the issue has already been adjudicated, refuse to accept the court order, and tell them to get lost. Trump would not be the first president to tell the courts to butt out.

Another one gets in through leftist America changing policies. The ratio of likelihood of getting killed by toddlers versus getting killed by ISLAMIC terrorists must be swaying in favor of ISLAMIC terrorists “BIG LEAGUE”.

The 9th Circuit’s blocking of Pres. Trump’s travel ban and chain migration are two different issues.
As a former consular officer, I of course believe in the enforcement of laws currently on the books. Among them are the US citizen’s right to petition for the immigration of parents, children, and sibs. Since I live in a community with a large number of Far Eastern-origin people (including my own wife and daughter-in-law), I worship (in a church, as a Christian) with a lot of beneficiaries of chain migration. As an ESOL teacher, I teach a large number of Latin American and African Christian beneficiaries of chain migration. The bulk of these people are good, solid folks whom I see as a plus for the USA.
Further, I have noticed among my Latin American students that being documented and having a support network of extended family (including primos and primas born in the USA whose first language or near-native-proficiency second language is English) serves as a stabilizing force, even among people of relatively low wealth and income. I have seen students who were raised in the basement of a house belonging to and inhabited by an uncle’s family go on to universities on scholarship a few years after arriving here with minimal English. Hence, I do not disapprove of family reunification and resultant chain migration per se.
We might do well to strip the law of “anti-discrimination” language, which is the loophole through which Leftist judges accuse Trump of racism for his travel ban while giving a pass to Clinton. Of course we may not discriminate on the basis of skin color or national origins, but all law, by logical necessity, discriminates in favor of the law-abiding and peaceable person and against those guilty of crimes of moral turpitude. Indeed, in a simpler, pre-2001 [and Clinton presidency] world, when working as a consular officer, I had to exclude parents, spouses, and skilled persons who were either criminal or had meaningful membership in totalitarian organizations.
The solution to the problem in the article is not banning chain migration, but in legal recognition that the president has certain powers to enforce immigration law, including provisions that exclude people who may be a serious danger to the safety of American citizens, lawful residents, and peaceful sojourners. This is by no means a dangerous extension of presidential powers, but a logical corollary of the president’s Constitutional function as enforcer of laws passed by Congress. The issue that needs to be faced is neither the exercise of presidential power, but judicial overreach (and I speak as one who sees Jackson’s ignoring of judicial decisions in the expulsion of the Cherokee from Georgia as a crime).

Kepha, I don’t believe chain migration should ever be automatic.

I’d like to know where the infection started and how far it has spread. How did the first in this chain arrive, and how many have come in unvetted since.

With the chain and all the other kinds of migration bringing in Muslims there are plenty of them. Infiltration is taking place. The Muslim Brotherhood is organized

Chain and lottery immigration need to be drastically curtailed. It is not only these terrorists that are harming us. Families bring in people that have never, nor will ever be able to contribute to society. These family members then end up dipping into social security, medicare, and Medicaid programs after contributing nothing. Meanwhile, you and I the taxpayer are told we need to work longer and pay more into the system.
We have ways to deal with humanitarian issues, but letting in thousands each year that tap into the system and contribute nothing is not it. In addition, you will find out that many of these that claim they have no assets here, have income producing assets in the home country.

Yes, it must be stopped immediately, but can it be reversed?

The “Chain” is just that. A chain bound to a bomb that is destroying America which is exactly what the TRAITORS in government wanted to do when they passed that disgusting bill into law. Yhe way to solve it is to apply the same law they force on us to them, namely to hold THEM personally liable for ALL crimes committed by ALL people allowed into America under the VISA program, punishing the lawmakers to the same extent as those who commit the crimes, then add on charging the politicians under RICO statutes for it is organized crime given the fact that the traitors in government passed the law so they could destroy America by bringing in invaders who they knew want to overthrow our Constitution so they can replace it with sharia, after which they will enslave us or murder those who refuse to allow themselves to be enslaved.
Finally, since it is planned treason, those found guilty must be executed by law for they are intentionally working to destroy our country which is the worst possible crime against our nation, and they must be punished by law.
