Yes, of course, today’s Muslim migrants are exactly like Joseph and Mary. Exactly. Jihad Watch reader Mark says, “Somehow I missed the part about how Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem to plunder, rape and steal from the residents there…”
All of the jihadis who murdered 130 people in Paris in November 2015 had just entered Europe as refugees. Is it racism and xenophobia to recall that in February 2015, the Islamic State boasted it would soon flood Europe with as many as 500,000 refugees? Or that the Lebanese Education Minister said in September 2015 that there were 20,000 jihadis among the refugees in camps in his country?
Meanwhile, 80% of migrants who have come to Europe claiming to be fleeing the war in Syria aren’t really from Syria at all. So why are they claiming to be Syrian and streaming into Europe, and now the U.S. as well? An Islamic State operative gave the answer when he boasted in September 2015, shortly after the migrant influx began, that among the flood of refugees, 4,000 Islamic State jihadis had already entered Europe. He explained their purpose: “It’s our dream that there should be a caliphate not only in Syria but in all the world, and we will have it soon, inshallah.” These Muslims were going to Europe in the service of that caliphate: “They are going like refugees,” he said, but they were going with the plan of sowing blood and mayhem on European streets. As he told this to journalists, he smiled and said, “Just wait.”
On May 10, 2016, Patrick Calvar, the head of France’s DGSI internal intelligence agency, said that the Islamic State was using migrant routes through the Balkans to get jihadis into Europe.
“Leave them; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14)
“Pope set to deliver Christmas address after pleading for migrants,” by Catherine Marciano, AFP, December 25, 2017 (thanks to Ken):
Vatican City (AFP) – Pope Francis was Monday to give his traditional “Urbi et Orbi” Christmas address, after urging the world’s 1.3 billion Catholics not to ignore the plight of migrants “driven from their land” because of leaders willing to shed “innocent blood”.
“So many other footsteps are hidden in the footsteps of Joseph and Mary,” the Argentine pontiff, himself the grandson of Italian migrants, told worshippers at Christmas Eve mass in Saint Peter’s Basilica.
“We see the tracks of millions of persons who do not choose to go away but, driven from their land, leave behind their dear ones.”
Many engulfed in the ongoing migration crisis were forced to flee from leaders “who, to impose their power and increase their wealth, see no problem in shedding innocent blood”, said the 81-year-old….

Even rammed while out shopping
A last Christmas gift
This season of chopping
Loved by the left
His illness is mental
We feel no surprise
When told by our masters
Taqiyya and lies
When allahu akbar!
Sounds in the streets
Look out for the knife-man
Blood’s flowing in sheets
And silver screen imams
Make sure we all know
There’s nothing to see here
Get on with the show

Apart from the fact there is no historical basis for the Christmas story and a lot of time has been devoted to investigating its veracity, this is akin to the Muslims likening themselves to the Jews slaughtered by the Nazis. The only Muslims that have been murdered on mass have been murdered by other Muslims! However a great number of non Muslims have been also murdered by Muslims
Wellington says
I have no regard for Islam, indeed I detest it, but it is inaccurate to assert, as you have, that “The only Muslims that have been murdered on mass {sic} have been murdered by other Muslims!”
Muslims were murdered en masse during the Crusades (which, in general, have been pc portrayed as just more evidence of Western imperialism when, in fact, they were an effort to take back land taken from Christians centuries before), often times in the Balkans (think Vlad the Impaler, the historical source for the legend of Dracula) and elsewhere. If we are going to challenge and oppose the worst religion ever created by man, it is imperative that we be as accurate as possible.
Rebecca says
You might want to know what the story of Mary and Joseph is about before you say it has no historical basis. Mary and Joseph were not immigrants. Mary and Joseph had to go to Bethlehem in their own country in order to pay taxes and for the census. Now, if immigrants want to come to America in order to pay taxes and then return to wherever they came from, that would be fine and would go more along the lines of the Christmas story… You do know they paid taxes and did the census 2017 years ago don’t you?

Rebecca, I believe the “driven from their land” refers to their having to flee to Egypt in order to protect the baby Jesus from Herod.
Of course, when the Holy Family got to Egypt, they did not start plotting terror attacks against the land giving them sanctuary. They did not even demand being allowed to go on the dole. Nothing in common with Muslims flooding into Europe and the rest of the West now.

So, The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob provide for Joseph and Mary, who were probably in their teens, all that they needed for the journey to Egypt.

“The Christmas story is about the Holy Family going to Bethlehem, not Egypt.”
True,
However, one does not “immigrate” within the borders of one’s country, i.e. travelling from Nazareth to Bethlehem.
In the Christmas story, Mary and Joseph were “not” driven from “their land,” they were travelling “within” the land of Israel going from Nazareth to Bethlehem.
Francis said:
“We see the tracks of millions of persons who do not choose to go away but, driven from “their land,” leave behind their dear ones.”
It appears that Francis is using the flight of Joseph and Mary to “Egypt” to justify his immigration policy, not their travel to Bethlehem.
Of course his analogy is absurd as are many of his previous statements.

Joseph and Mary were not refugees, nor fleeing anything. They were following the orders of their Roman rulers to return to their town of birth to be counted in the national census. Obviously a lot of people had returned to Bethlehem because all the hotel, B and B and Guest houses of their day were full. That is why they were having trouble finding accommodation.
Nothing to do whatsoever with refugees. They were not in any danger, and nor were most of the military age men who flooded Europe from the Middle East in the last couple of years. They were merely running away from their responsibilities in their own countries and bringing serious problems to ours.
Kay says
He must be referring to when the Holy family went to Egypt to avoid Herrod’s slaughter of the Innocents. Joseph was warned in a dream to flee.
gravenimage says
True, Kay.
Kepha says
Actually, the holy family could be seen as refugees when they fled to Egypt to save the infant Messiah from the wrath of Herod the Great. Of course, they were moving from one Roman client state to another Roman territory, but they were concerned about the safety of their son. As an old consular officer, and I knew such-and-such a head of state had ordered the killing of all male children under two, and some migrants showed up asking for US asylum because their one-year-old (who was clearly their son and not a child to be trafficked), I’d urge their case to be treated with the utmost sympathy.
Further, the account of the sojourn in Egypt (it’s in Matthew 2) goes far to explain one of the questions asked about the veracity of the Gospels: How could Galilean carpenter Jesus converse in Greek with Pontius Pilate?
It may well have been the case that the infant Jesus first learned to speak in the large Jewish community of Alexandria, Egypt (the tale of his speaking from birth is from an odd apocryphon which got taken up by the Qur’an, not in the Gospels). There, the chief “Jewish” language was not Hebrew or Aramaic, but Greek. So prevalent was Greek among Egypt’s Jews that two centuries before Jesus’ birth, the Scriptures were translated into Greek. We call that version the Septuagint. There are other considerations about why Jesus and the Galilean disciples could use Greek; but I’ve often thought that the sojourn in Egypt may have been a major factor in the case of Jesus himself.

Salaam all,
Talking about any comments/prayers that the Pope makes, a while back , a christian commentator called “champion” said that the the Pope words like Muhammad’s (SAW) , in that it was an infallible message passed on from God via his most esteemed messenger.
The Pope is arguably the most important christian alive today, I am amazed at the lack of respect that you people offer the Pope. This is not him speaking, his subconscious is being “commanded ” to say these things about muslim migrants in the name of humanity. So please show more respect, don’t just look at the pope, look behind his message, your lord is speaking to you, so show more respect, bite your tongue all is well so keep donating, .
Small transgressions made by migrant has to be forgiven by the christian population by turning the other cheek – surely this is what your religion teaches you. Please learn well, these commandments like your leader has. It is Isa’s (PBUH) day today, so please let me wish you all a merry Isa day.

Isa? You must mean the Isa who will return on the last day to break the crosses (destroy all the churches) and kill all the pigs (Christians).

Spot on, Granddaddy.
Westman says
Sorry, Rezali, murdering Christians is not, “Small transgressions made by migrant”
Christians are not obligated to accept rape, murder, and plunder by Muslims. You do remember that the Crusades were approved by Popes, “their subconscious is being “commanded ”.
You also need a reminder that Jesus(Isa) whipped the money changers of the temple for desecrating it. What would he do to the Muslims who have been murdering Christians and those who approved?
Your idea that Christians are required to be pacifists couldn’t be more in error. Much like Muslims who herald the gathering of Jews to Israel as an efficient target for extermination, the opposite is also true. Eliminating all religious minorities from Muslim countries lowers the social threshold to response.
More later…
dhans says
I’ve pretty much rejected the pacifist Jesus mantra as a religious manifestation of the 70’s. You pretty much have to ignore much of the Old Testament scripture to accept that Christianity is exclusively pacifistic. If you actually think that, then Jesus is nothing more than a hypocrite, given the above example. He is an advocate of peace foremost, but we should never take that to mean that we are to be inactive in the face of evil.
Westman says
It’s adequately indicated in the New Testament:
And he saith unto them, “Whose is this image and superscription?”
They say unto him, “Caesar’s”. Then saith he(Jesus) unto them, “Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.”
Military conscription is “Ceasar’s” right under governments and to serve is a Christian’s obligation. The idea that Jesus made Christians into pacifists only resides in the minds of enemies and actual pacifists. The men who dropped the first nuclear bombs were Christians and the first two that will simultaneously turn ballistic missile launch keys might well be Christian Russians.
Christianity only increases the level of tolerance and causes a thoughtful delay in response to abuse until, finally, the threshold is reached.
The Remorseless Headsman says
Mr. Bergoglia is a useful idiot, nothing more. God works in mysterious ways that we oftentimes cannot fathom. He allows pain and suffering while at the same time, giving us the means to alleviate most of it. Case in point would be cancer. By cutting it out and/or irradiating it, we can eliminate much of it. Just as God have us cancer, he also allowed Islam. Strangely, the “cure” is much the same, although in much larger doses, say 1.2 mega-tons at a time.

“champion” is probably a reference to respected Jihad Watch poster Champ. While Champ is a devout Christian, she is not Catholic. The idea that she has made a case for papal infallibility is just absurd.
Besides–as has been pointed out many times–papal infallibility only refers to doctrinal matters. It has nothing to do with his cluelessness regarding the advisability of allowing millions of violent Muslims to flood into Europe.
While Champ has been critical of this pontiff, though, she would never compare him to the malignant “Prophet” Muhammed.
More:
The Pope is arguably the most important christian alive today, I am amazed at the lack of respect that you people offer the Pope.

This is just laughable. Rezali Mehil does not respect any Christians–she just thinks she can use his advocating for the Muslim invasion to take over Europe and the rest of the West. She has openly admitted this.
More:

So please show more respect, don’t just look at the pope, look behind his message, your lord is speaking to you, so show more respect, bite your tongue all is well so keep donating, .
……………………………..
Where to start? Firstly, Christians believe in free will–the idea that the pope is just a mouthpiece is an alien concept. Moreover, Rezali Mehil is clearly not referring to God here, but the vicious “Allah”.
Then she demands that we be silent. And why not? Christians and other Infidels are not allowed to speak against Muslim violence under Shari’ah law, which is what she wants imposed here.
And finally, she wants our money. Again, why not? Under Islam, Infidels are required to pay crushing Jizya if they want to forestall Muslims murdering them.
More:
Small transgressions made by migrant has to be forgiven by the christian population by turning the other cheek – surely this is what your religion teaches you.
……………………………..
Firstly, as Westman notes, mass rape and Jihad slaughter are *hardly* “small transgressions”. But then, Rezali Mehil does not care about the abuse and killing of “filthy Infidels”.
And she has made these claims before–that if Christians are good Christians that they have to allow Muslims to rape and murder them without so much as a whimper.
Of course, this is not what Christianity demands–but Muslims like Rezali Mehil wishes it did, because then conquering the West would be so much easier for her and her fellow Muslims.
More:
Please learn well, these commandments like your leader has. It is Isa’s (PBUH) day today, so please let me wish you all a merry Isa day.
……………………………..
There are of course no such commandments in Christianity demanding that Christians bare their throats for the Muslim sword.
As for the appalling figure of “Isa”, he has nothing in common with the Jesus of the Gospels. He is not the Savior, nor is he a peacemaker or healer.
In fact, the main role of the Muslim “Jesus”–as poster Granddaddy notes–is to return in the last days to *kill Christians*. The idea that this is what Christmas celebrates is grotesque.

As usual you try to put words in my mouth and speak for other “respected” commentators like Champ. What a condescending little smart a$$ you are. Let Champ speak for herself (if she can).
How was your Christmas then? Surely got you more than coal in a sock, perhaps an iron for you to do his clothes… possibly with a a sackful of Jaffa oranges – you know the seedless variety.
Anyway what I really wanted to say was around the pope. As you know …he was voted in by other “near infallible” types following ill health of the German before (who is just fine 6 years on…so me thinks he was pushed …surely a firing me thinks).
It got me to thinking that actually probably all the pope hopefuls think in the same way as Francis. I mean think about that for a moment … Francis is 81 and when he moves …it will be more of the same … you guys will be eating from the same menu.
Really I am not trying to taunt… this is as I see it, soon ( a generation or so from now) Jesus and Isa will be one and the same person. Christmas will be celebrated Isa style … all across the world. Of course Graven and possible Champ may say I am talking rubbish … but already church bells have stopped ringing, church pews have been removed.
In reality IMHO the Vatican is leading a giant revolution in social engineering, making Isa into Jesus and Jesus into Isa and then eventually Isa will be the one leading , – a new modified christian religion and you my friends are the sheep who are to believe in this new religion… because every pope from here on in will be another Francis.
This is necessary for a new world order and world peace… that is how I see it… please don’t shoot me , I am only the messenger.

Re: ‘Turning the other cheek’…
Many years ago I heard this similar explanation from ancient history scholars…Makes sense.
…”The answer is simple. Roman soldiers tended to be right-handed. When they struck an equal with a fist, it came from the right and made contact with the left side of the face. When they struck an inferior person, they swung with the back of their right hand making contact with the right cheek. In a Mediterranean culture that made clear distinctions between classes, Roman soldiers backhanded their subjects to make a point. Jews were second-class. No one thought twice about the rectitude of treating lesser people with less respect.
Peaceful Subversion
When Jesus tells fellow Jews to expose the left cheek, he is calling for “peaceful subversion.” He does not want them to retaliate in anger nor to shrink in some false sense of meekness. He wants to force the Roman soldiers to treat them like equals. He wants the Jews to stand up and demand respect. He wants to make each attacker stop and think about how they are mistreating another human being. It is the same motivation behind his command to “go an extra mile” after a soldier forced you to carry water for the first mile (Matt 5:41). It is intended to activate the soldier’s conscience.”…

Sometimes I think perhaps Francis’ words get mangled in translation; other times I think he is just a poor communicator, but increasingly I just don’t know what to think about him. So I am wary of all that he says or reportedly says. Right now I’m thinking “cave papem” (I think that’s what I mean to say.) Merry Christmas, Kepha. (I do mean that.)

It is generally accepted christianity conquered the Roman Empire within 3 years, without non-christian blood being shed. Undoubtedly there are moslems who would aspire to this example. Sadly that example is not written into their guiding book or the law out of it; such moslems project veterinary mind sets, yet any peace manifest about them is at best unreliable and besides works to their increase and never their kafir pets.

I can’t help thinking the “real” pope is still Benedict XVI. I can’t believe he wasn’t somehow forced to resign to make way for the current imam who chose to be called Francis, without a number, as if he reckoned no follower would want to be called Francis after him.

Our Communist Pope continues on his path of papal destruction…. like Joseph and Mary??? How dare he akin them to anyone holy… how dare he pretend himself “just one of the common folks” as did the Obama’s… he plummets the Church into darkness while accusing believers of being evil for not supporting the “global warming” hoax. A lie whose solution demands the deaths of those who caused it. So wicked this man who pretends to be Jesus! So wicked the New Communist Catholic Church…..

Exactly what the devil would have you think!
This was the pivotal victory over the devil, sin, the fall, curse, etc. that also gives us such victory; Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection. It was triumph, not defeat. But the devil has it twisted.

I would note, to follow up on Kasch Mir’s 9:05 A.M. comment above, that Benedict XVI resigned for health reasons almost five years ago and yet he is still living. Yes, I know he had documented heart problems but I cannot eliminate that some kind of Vatican cabal pressured him to resign, the first Pope to do so since the fifteenth century. And Francis I is so different from Benedict, vastly so in his outlook on such things as Islam, capitalism, the merits of Western Civilization and the uniqueness and greatness of America, that it is quite arguable that power politics played a part in this “transition” and not just health concerns. Politics is rarely more Byzantine than have been Vatican politics over the centuries. I see no good reason not to conclude this has not abated when I reflect upon the abdication of Benedict XVI.

First of all – nowhere are Moslems being “driven from their land” anywhere in the world.
Rather, Moslems are consciously choosing to to leave their Moslem-majority home nations for the western world.
Second – these “Moslem migrants” are nothing but conquerors wanting to overthrow western governments and society and install Sharia.
Third – comparing Moslem conquerors to a couple of teens (Mary and Joseph) really is a poor comparison and shows that Pope Francis either: 1) Does not know the Gospels or 2) is an outspoken Moslem-in-closet.

Martin, you are mistaken. The archbishop of Canterbury is very well informed about jihad and he is not a dhimmi. He is cautious about expressing his awareness of Islam, because several Anglican churches have been attacked violently in a number of countries and any perceived slight would put Anglican lives at risk around the world.
Prudence is the first duty of every politician.

Jacqueline Robnett says
BC’s comment about the pope is the kindest that can be said. He is indeed misguided and does not know history or hopes that his flock doesn’t. Mary and Joseph left their home at the decree of Caesar to register for taxation in Bethlehem. The majority Syrian Sunni population started a civil war by attacking the minority Shiite dictatorship government of Bashar Al Asad. Unfortunately for the Sunnis, the neighboring Shiite governments sent troops to help subdue them. Later Russia joined in and won the war. The refugees are the fallout from this tragedy. BUT the vast majority of refugees are still Muslims who have been taught from birth to hate and subdue anybody who doesn’t believe in Islam.

Actually, most of the “refugees” flooding into Europe right now are not even from Syria.

1. Joseph and Mary took Jesus to Egypt at the instigation of YHWH God.
2, The family had gold, frankincense and Myrrh. Frankincense and Myrrh were very expensive and would have sold for a great deal of money. Thus they had money to care for themselves.
3. Joseph was a carpenter/builder and could work for a living.
4. There was a large Jewish community in Egypt. Could the family have gone there?
5. The family knew they would only be there for a short period of time after which, again at the instigation of YHWH, they returned to Nazareth.
I don’t think the facts describe a refugee . I think the pope and those who jump on the ‘refugee’ bandwagon need to look a bit more deeply into the subject.
Kepha says
Those could indeed describe refugees. Sometimes, when crises pass, they do go home.
But I am not agreeing with Frankie Georgie.
dumbledoresarmy says
“There was a large Jewish community in Egypt. Could the family have gone there?”
Yes.
The Jewish community in Alexandria was *huge*. ‘Large’ is an understatement. They numbered in the hundreds of thousands; they had been established there for centuries; the Septuagint – Greek translation/ paraphrase of the TaNaKh – was created in Alexandria by Jewish scholars. When Joseph and Mary went to Egypt they would almost certainly have been absorbed into that vast and well-established Jewish community. They were making like the needle in the haystack; one tiny family disappearing like drops of water in a lake. It is entirely possible they had *relatives* there. They were not strangers in a strange land. And Egypt was of course, like Judea, part of the Roman Empire, so it wasn’t as if they were going off into Scythia or Hibernia, to some place where they didn’t speak the language and everything was utterly alien. It’s more like somebody moving from some part of the British Empire to another, back in the days of the Raj.

I’m not sure exactly what this idiotic Pope’s agenda is. He doesn’t seem to value the Christianity-based western civilisation at all. Maybe it’s because he comes from a South American country that Europe colonised and he has a chip on his shoulder. But I sometimes think he is just one of these endlessly turning the other cheek type of Christians. You know, the type whose idea of being a Christian just means being a doormat. It’s a brainless attitude which leads him to saying we should let Muslim savages swamp Europe. He refuses to face what vicious, evil people many of them are. His attitudes would lead to the total destruction of European civilisation. I look at his idiotic policies and think, well, Christianity doesn’t endorse suicide, yet this fool of a Pope’s policies would be cultural suicide for Europe. That can’t be morally good, no matter how virtuous this fool might try to make it seem. He’d be responsible for all the rapes and terrorist attacks his Muslim mates bring. He won’t suffer but the average European people will. He’s a dangerous fool on the issue of Islam and these Muslim invaders..

It appears Francis is referring to:
After the wise men were gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up! Flee to Egypt with the child and his mother,” the angel said. “Stay there until I tell you to return, because Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”
That night Joseph left for Egypt with the child and Mary, his mother,
