A “correction” in the Toronto Star was for some reason made. It read:
“A Dec. 22 article about Christine Douglass -Williams’ firing from the Canadian Race Relations Foundation reported accurately that her biography on the foundation’s website, which has now been taken down, stated she sits on the Anti-Semitism Task Force with the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (FSWC). Following publication, the FSWC told the Star its anti-Semitism task force was never launched.
I am now announcing publicly on Jihad Watch a correction to that “correction”: there was indeed an Anti-Semitism Task force that was launched. I served on it, and you can see the proof HERE, along with another picture describing me as “a member of FSWC Task Force on Anti-semitism” HERE (please scroll down).
I do not know who was responsible for the so-called “correction” at the Toronto Star, but I had an e-mail exchange with the Toronto Star reporter, in which she asked pertinent questions about the “correction”. I wished someone at the Toronto Star had inquired with me about before publishing that “correction.” The reporter, Jennifer Yang, is making efforts to remedy this unfortunate error, but because of the long weekend, there will be a delay.
Please see the email dialogue between Jennifer and me below. The inaccurate information given about me is outright defamatory and libelous, and frames me as an individual who falsifies important information about my own work. This is not my character, and the proof provided should raise questions about why and how this “correction” was made by the Toronto Star in the first place. The dishonesty and implications of this “correction” have since posed a problem, and required clarification on my behalf. Out of politeness, I will leave it at that (for now).

Hi Christine: I’ve forwarded your emails to our public editor, who is responsible for corrections and clarifications. Unfortunately, I believe she is off for the holiday long weekend but she or someone in her office will look into this as soon as they can. I will let you know once I hear back. Thank you.

Hi Jennifer
Can you please let me know if and when this correction would be made.
It affects my integrity and I would need to alert readers in another publication of this error with proof of links.
Thank you kindly
Christine D-Williams

Jennifer,
To be precise, I only know that I was part of this task-force as indicated by Mr. Avi Benlolo to me in 2012, and you can see this proof of accuracy as captured in the photo [https://archive.fo/48qKp]. I too am now confused as to when this task force started and when it ended, now that I am hearing that it was never launched. But I can say with certainty that other than that confusion (whether as part of this task-force or outside of it), I also did:
Christian outreach for them for a few months in 2012, was active in their initial launch of the Tour for Humanity, addressed their board with ideas about the Tour bus where I suggested visiting campuses among ideas; attended their many events and spoke at their fine high level conference on anti-semitism in 2014. [https://archive.fo/3Ymjt].
Also in 2013, Avi Benlolo moderated an event of which I was a speaker: “FSWC PRESENTS: Israel and the Struggle Within the United Church “as you can see advertised at the FSWC site here: https://archive.fo/4rGcp
I also wrote pieces for FSWC.

Thank you… I will try to clarify with FSWC. Do you recall the specific dates of when you sat on the anti-semitism task force? And what projects/initiatives did you undertake with them as a member of this task force?
Best,
Jennifer

To Christine Douglass-Williams- It is obvious that the Toronto Star has a few dimwits working there, an example of the decaying journalism of these “collectivist” times. If different regions of Canada have a “Public Advocate” who can fight for you, Ms. Douglass-Williams, I think you should avail yourself of that office. The truth about you will be revealed and you won’t be the one who is embarassed. Kind regards and Merry Christmas to you and yours, and to all readers of this awesome website.

I am so glad Christine Douglass-Williams is not “letting it get by”. Smears, slurs and outright lies must be dealt with iimmediately. At least she has proof…in this little town in PA where I live I have to contend with verbal smears, slurs and outright lies and finding the speaker is virtually impossilbe as the town “boss” is one of 7 brothers and they do control this town. The boss’s brother beneath him is an incorrible gossip and the boss’s girlfriend makes up really bad stories. The town has has all of 250 people…that should have been a warning to me, I think.
Had I known such a current day Payton Place existed I would never have bought this house here.

Christine, I would never believe that you would falsify anything so if I had read that in the Toronto Star I would not have believed it in the first place. I know it’s tiring to always have to be so vigilant against the Left because that’s what they do – try to wear us down with their false narratives, outright lies and constant attacks. And if it isn’t the Left it’s Islam. Sigh. But you are too smart for them! HA! I love it when they get caught. Merry Christmas. Will say a prayer for you.

Why would FSWC lie and tell the Toronto Star that its Anti-Semitism Task Force was never launched when some of the links in this article prove otherwise and others show correlation, and why did the Toronto Star not give Douglass-Williams the opportunity to address the lie prior to posting the so called correction?
PABLO says
This clarification leaves more questions than it answered.
Clarification – December 27, 2017: This article was further updated to make clear that Christine Douglass-Williams was asked to join the Simon Wiesenthal Centre for Holocaust Studies in 2012. According to Avi Benlolo, president and CEO of FSWC, while the task force has not been implemented, Douglass-Williams has contributed to the FSWC.
These two links https://archive.fo/48qKp and https://archive.fo/5sIq7 leave Friends of Simon Weisenthal Center grovelling and the Toronto Star in want.

The Toronto Star. The left wing and liberal mouth piece. Misleading errors are very common with this paper. It’s a paper akin to the main stream media in America. Very guilty of distortion of facts and not reporting the real political news in Canada.
