Either al-Sisi cannot stop this ongoing Muslim persecution of Christians, or he will not. If he cannot, then he is a weak and ineffective ruler. If he will not, it may be that he is practicing steam control, as did Nasser, Sadat and Mubarak before him. That is, despite his affirmations of support for the Christian community, he could be quietly allowing this escalating Muslim persecution as a way to placate the pro-Muslim Brotherhood elements within Egypt, and to keep them from turning in force against his regime.
Meanwhile, Christian leaders in the West largely remain silent about this ongoing persecution, so as not to harm the “dialogue” they’re enjoying with Muslim leaders that has thus far not prevented one Christian from being persecuted or one church from being attacked.
“Leave them; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14)
“Gunmen Target Egyptian Christians, Shoot Down Man In Sinai,” by Joshua Gill, Daily Caller, January 14, 2018 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
Three gunmen shot and killed a man in Egypt’s Sinai peninsula in what authorities said is only the latest attack explicitly targeting Egypt’s Christians.
Egyptian officials spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity and said the victim was Bassem Attallah, a 35-year-old Christian man. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, however, officials said it bears all the signs of an attack by Islamic State insurgents, who have targeted Christians in Egypt since 2016.
The attack comes in the wake of another shooting on New Year’s Eve, in which a gunman killed two Coptic Christian brothers and shot up their liquor store. Authorities said it was not clear whether the attack was an act of Islamic extremism or the result of New Year’s revelry. The incident happened only days after ISIS’ attack on a Coptic church in Cairo where gunmen killed nine people before being confronted by local residents and shot down by police.
ISIS insurgents continue to carry out guerrilla attacks throughout North Africa and the Middle East despite suffering major and near eradication in Iraq and Syria. They have led an insurgency in northern Sinai for years and have killed over 100 Egyptian Christians since December 2016, and some experts fear that such attacks could increase as ISIS sends more militants to Sinai and other places in response to being disbanded in Iraq and Syria….

The SO CALLRD CHRSTIAN leaders n the WEST are not really CHRISTIANS otherwise they would feel the pain for the people who also belong to the body of Christ .Muslims like Mohammad are accomplished DECEIVERS who can never be trusted .Stop giving any AID to the Muslim countries .It is like feeding the Snakes in your backyard .You can neither live beside them nor live with them. The Muslims act according to Quran-a text book of HATE .Read surah 5:51 and lot more in the so called holy Quran.

balam, don’t be an ass. The Christian leaders are definitely Christian, but not YOUR kind of Christian. And how many people agree with you 100% anyway? Not many. Unfortunately, ALL Christian leaders have human limitations and most have not read Islam’s primary texts. Some leaders are closeminded and some, perhaps most, are poorly informed about Islam. So YOU inform them. Write a nice polite letter.
By calling everyone who disagrees with you a ‘deceiver’, you are not showing charity.
balam says
Mortimer ,since you are defending these so called Christian leaders ,why don’t you contact them yourself starting with the Pope ?One Catholic poor Christian woman ASIA BIBI is on death row in Pakistan on false charges of BLASPHEMY .An other young Christian woman SHAMA who was carrying an unborn child was thrown alive along with her husband SHAHZAD MASIH in brick kiln where they worked near Lahore on trumped up charges of desecrating the Quran by a mob of thousands of Muslims. I do admire the Muslim leaders who care when a Muslim is mistreated by the Kuffar in the so called CHRISTIAN WEST .That is what you call MUSLM BROTHERHOOD!!!
Jack Diamond says
The Christians who are persecuted by Muslims don’t need to learn about Islam by reading texts, they live among them, they know them well. I doubt Asia Bibi has ever read the primary texts of Islam but I would suggest she knows Islam very very well. People fearing for their lives and the lives of their children don’t write nice polite letters either. They cry out for justice and for a witness, while the world, and sadly most Christians, prefer to hear no evil and see no evil (something even worse than not reading and intellectualizing Islamic texts).

I’m with balam’s position on this one.
What Christian leaders? They’re mostly just politicians, more concerned about gender nuetral bathrooms than Christ’s persecuted sheep.
Christianity isn’t like islam – you aren’t a Christian just because of where you are born.
And the ‘priesthood’ is just another career for some people.
Lydia Church says
Just don’t try to peddle the balderdash that the Bush’s were a bunch of Christians.
It is as hard to find a needle in a haystack as a true Christian who has risen to a powerful leadership position anywhere. There are a few, but most are playing a role and fooling the masses…. and fooling them well.

Yes–Christian leaders should be speaking out against persecution of Christians and other Infidels at the hands of savage Muslims.

The Christian leaders in the west seem to not know that Satan is driving islam. Or maybe …………….?
Eur says
When an exodus of Christians towards the West? The persecution is evident, they have reasons to come.
LeftisruiningCanada says
THEY would be most welcome.

I know I would welcome these people.

Agree with Robert Spencer’s dilemma. Al-Sisi is clearly in a bind. A large number of fascist MB members and supporters still live in Egypt. Al Azhar University is run by Salafist fanatics. If he staunchly defends 10% of the population (which is Christian) he will have no police left for anything else.
mortimer says
Human rights have NOTHING TO DO with Islam.
balam says
You are right for a change because human rights are only given by God fearing human beings to other humans.About the Muslims one can say that take humanity out of a human being and you are left with a good Muslim.
gravenimage says
I’m not sure how dedicated al-Sisi is to defending Christians, in any case.
Manny says
It’s really time for Coptics to leave Egypt en mass. The Islamic government is either unwilling or incapable of protecting them. Send back the Muslims in the Christian west and replace them with Coptics. Win-win for everyone.
LeftisruiningCanada says
If only sensible things like that could be done.
Sadly, we’ll probably just keep shipping in the muslims.
gravenimage says
If only.

I lay much of this at Obama’s feet. Had he stood up for Mubarak during the miss-nomenclature, Arab Spring, Egypt would not have had to endure Morsi and his brotherhood thugs. Mubarak defended the Coptic people and his “tourist police” actually protected tourists from making fatal mistakes such as entering a taxi that was unknown to the police as I found out after shopping at a shopping mall down town Cairo. These police would also with the assistance of the Egyptian army provide security for tourist traveling by forming convoys in areas deemed unsafe such as the road from Luxor to Hurghada on the Red Sea. I would not travel to Egypt today nor would I advise any else to. When my wife and I were there during the Christmas holidays in 2005, we visited the Coptic churches dating back to the time shortly after Jesus’ crucifixion and one site turned into a church where Jesus was protected when he was a child but now many of the places we visited have been bombed and people killed. Together, Morsi and Obama did harm that will take decades or longer in which to recover throughout the Middle East and Northern Africa such as Libya.
Infidel says
Obama is one of the BIGGEST traitors in the history of humankind..
gravenimage says
Christians under Mubarak were regularly oppressed and attacked, as well.
It would, no doubt, be even worse if the Muslim Brotherhood had stayed in power–but only by a matter of degree.

Egypt: Muslim gunmen shoot and kill Christian in Sinai
……………………
And al-Sisi is doing nothing to protect these poor Christians.
Lydia Church says
Where is the outcry?
Where is the support for a migrant invasion by persecuted Christians into other parts of the world?
No, but rather you have Sweden sending Iranian Christian women back to Iran to die a martyr’s death, all while keeping the doors open for more muslim migrants to join the hordes that are already in Sweden.
And dope francis sympathizing with the muslim migrants only… of course.
Double standard much?
Hypocrites!!!
StellaSaidSo says
I agree, Lydia, the hypocrisy is reprehensible. Especially when it comes from the top. Pope Francis is a traitor to Christians, and to European civilisation.
