The following is an announcement from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-WA):
Over 90 Christian, Jewish, and Muslim clergy have made commitments to promote religious freedom for all Americans as the beginning of a national movement.
Islamic doctrines of jihad, hatred, and intolerance, and human rights abuses against women, Christians, Yazidis and others, including the LGBTQ community, apostates and infidels are the plague of humanity in our era. Yet again and again these repulsive abuses are discounted in favor of the Muslim victimology narrative. Muslim Brotherhood affiliates and jihadists are adept at hoisting the flag of victimhood high above those they victimize. Victimhood is a supremacist marketing strategy, and now some Jewish and Christian leaders are buying into it.
It is difficult to envisage the level of imprudence and immorality of these so-called faith leaders, aka blind guides, in partnering with Hamas-linked CAIR to combat “Islamophobia” in the face of the jihadi genocide of their fellow Christians, and the ongoing jihad against Israel.
This group has declared the “the beginning of a national movement”:
We pledge to and call upon our fellow citizens to treat our Muslim neighbors with fairness, dignity, and respect, and to uphold, through word and deed, a commitment to the American ideals of pluralism and religious freedom and against any religious ban. We will advocate for legislation, media portrayals, and political speech that promotes these basic American values and commitments for American Muslims.
The temporary travel ban from countries of concern was raised by Jasmin Samy, Civil Rights Director of CAIR-Washington. She presented the ban as “anti-Muslim,” bigoted, and the cause of “extreme hardship” for Muslim families, when in reality it was aimed at protecting Americans from the jihad terror and violence that the world has seen bring chaos to Europe and come close to wiping out Christianity in the Middle East. These jihadis have also targeted Muslims: over 11 million Muslims have been murdered by their coreligionists since 1948 for not being Muslim enough.
These Jewish and Christian leaders are an embarrassment and disappointment to their communities, with their self-righteousness, their abandonment of the real victims, and their partnering with Hamas-linked CAIR, aiding this infamous group to spread its agenda of dawah, the hijrah and Islamic supremacism.
The facilitator of this duplicitous event was Alejandro Beutel from the disreputable Southern Poverty Law Center, which demonizes respectable opponents as “hate groups,” painting targets on their backs while it “keeps its coffers bulging.”
Note that Aneelah Afzali, Executive Director of the American Muslim Empowerment Network of the Muslim Association of Puget Sound, stated that “this conference of faith leaders seeks to launch a national movement to effectively and positively combat Islamophobia using facts over fiction, love over hate, and faith over fear.” What malarkey.
There is no such thing as “Islamophobia” in any Western society. No one is phobic about Muslims. People are concerned for their safety and continuance of Western democracies, as they should be. The very term “Islamophobia” is intended to punish those who exercise their freedom of speech, which is the cornerstone of every free society, as the process of civilization jihad continues.
“Announcement: Over 90 faith leaders pledge to dismantle Anti-Muslim bigotry”, International Examiner, January 30, 2018:
Over 90 Christian, Jewish, and Muslim clergy have made commitments to promote religious freedom for all Americans as the beginning of a national movement.
One year after President Trump signed Executive Order 13769 (commonly called the Muslim Ban), faith leaders from across the country spent three days together to strategize on how to best counter anti-Muslim bigotry and promote religious freedom for all Americans. Methodist, Baptist, Muslim, Jewish, Lutheran, Episcopal, Catholic, Mormon, Evangelical, Presbyterian, and other faith leaders came together across their diverse religious traditions to promote a culture that treats all Americans with the same dignity, fairness, and respect.
The gathering at the Muslim Association of Puget Sound (MAPS) began on January 28th, the one-year anniversary of the nationwide protests at airports in response to the Muslim Ban, and ended January 30th, the one-year anniversary of Acting Attorney General Sally Yates refusing to defend the Muslim Ban and being dismissed by President Trump.
More than 90 faith leaders signed the “Faith Over Fear” pledge. The full text of the pledge is as follows:
“We pledge to and call upon our fellow citizens to treat our Muslim neighbors with fairness, dignity, and respect, and to uphold, through word and deed, a commitment to the American ideals of pluralism and religious freedom and against any religious ban. We will advocate for legislation, media portrayals, and political speech that promotes these basic American values and commitments for American Muslims.
As a leader in my community:
- I pledge to reject exclusionary policies that discriminate on the basis of religion, race, culture, or country of origin.
- I will nurture relationships, build communities, confront challenges, and advocate for legislation, media portrayals, and political speech based on our shared American values of fairness, dignity, and respect for all people.
- I commit to examining and addressing myself and my community for language and practices that exclude, demean, or diminish Muslims.
- I commit to dismantling anti-Muslim bigotry by educating myself and using my platforms to educate my community, on how to address and counter common misperceptions and myths about Islam and Muslims.
- I will include my community in relationship-building, education, and actions that affirm the inherent dignity of every member of our society.”
Organizers of the event included Reverend Terry Kyllo from Neighbors in Faith, MAPS-AMEN executive director Aneelah Afzali, Shoulder-to-Shoulder executive director Catherine Orsborn, and CAIR civil rights director Jasmin Samy. Their comments are below.
Terry Kyllo, Director, Neighbors In Faith:
“As I engaged faith leaders across western Washington, I realized that faith leaders are key to turning the tide on Islamophobia. They are in every neighborhood, in every town, in every state. They have read their history and know what happens when we dehumanize a group, and that it does nobody any good. But they kept asking how they could respond to the top anti-Muslim assumptions and what they and their faith communities can practically do. This event grew from their questions.”
Aneelah Afzali, Executive Director, MAPS-AMEN (American Muslim Empowerment Network of the Muslim Association of Puget Sound):
“A year after introduction of the unconstitutional and cruel Muslim travel ban — and in the face of an industry spending millions upon millions each year to promote a narrative of fear and divisiveness by spreading misinformation about Islam and conspiracy theories about Muslims — it is more important than ever for us to unite as Americans and affirm the equal rights and dignity of all. This conference of faith leaders seeks to launch a national movement to effectively and positively combat Islamophobia using facts over fiction, love over hate, and faith over fear.”
Catherine Orsborn, Executive Director, Shoulder-to-Shoulder:
“The one year anniversary of the Muslim ban is the perfect time for faith communities to be coming together to show that we aren’t going anywhere, but are digging into the long-term work of creating more fair and inclusive communities. We will continue to stand alongside one another in challenging policies that don’t comport with our national ideals, as we work to make our country a better place for all of us.”Jasmin Samy, Civil Rights Director, Council on American Islamic Relations Washington:
“The Muslim ban has caused extreme hardship among American Muslims in our community, cutting them off from their families and further fueling an anti-Muslim climate in this country. It is crucial that people of all faiths stand together against bigotry and prejudice….

They should be teaming up to rid the Earth of the evil, backward 7th century cult known as izlaam, the scourge of humanity.

It’s well worth noting that each of the above bullet-points in this pledge can readily and ironically be rendered moot with a single Quranic quote.
Also, I’m curious: as a confessional Lutheran (i.e; stodgy as a basket of week-old muffins and insistent upon both love for neighbor *and* Scriptural fidelity), were these mostly mainline/theologically liberal denominations and/or groups that signed off on this?
Monty says
I think the term “Christian” is used way too liberally. I wonder what God thinks of so-called believers who support those who murder His people without batting an eyelid. Jesus said that the way we treat Christians is the way that we treat Him. In 2016, 90,000 were added to the number who want to know how long it will be before God unleashes His judgement on the murderers. Muslims note: you will not escape God’s wrath. Repent now and beat the rush on judgement day.
Westman says
I also would like a list of the names who signed off since Islamic leadership tends to sell rotten fruit with a “Fresh” sign.
I can imagine some pro-Israel Christian leadership signing off in a vain attempt to avoid vandalism of facilities in Europe. It isn’t the Mosques that will need guarding, as European Jews can attest.
boakai ngombu says
Amen …i wonder what the imam’s think about the pledge …
Monty says
When Muslims stop killing, imprisoning, torturing and maiming non-Muslims, I may pay attention to their “peaceful” rhetoric. Until then, sorry, actions speak louder than words.

Well, there goes Islam, then.

I am wondering who these Christian & Jewish leaders are who plan to do this so I could have an educational study session with them if there are any in my city. How do we find out who they are?
FYI says
Perhaps the SPLC should ask CAIR to confirm ..
1.What allah says about the Jews in his koran
“Be ye apes,despised and hated” koran 2 v 65
Will the SPLC condemn such islamic anti-Semitic teachings? Why not??Isn’t failure to do so on the part of the SPLC blatant,two-faced hypocrisy? Are the Jewish members of the SPLC OK with that?
2.What islamic supremacist ideology says should be done to the Jews.
see Sahih muslim 6985{…kill them…}
And then explain it to the dhimmiwit Jews and Christians..
….good luck with that!
StellaSaidSo says
It will be interesting to see if they modify their hostility > Christians now that they have ‘teamed up’ with Christian groups.
Ibrahim itace muhammed says
These groups of christians and Jews are guided by universal moral law, which is binding on all rational human beings. Those promoting hate propagandas against muslims are irratiational. You can observe that they are not mentally stable. Have a look at savage mad devil Trump, is he behaving like human being ? Hé behaves like wild animal. This is exactly how Christian biggots and fascist evil zionists behave. They are possessed by the Satan (holy spirit) the father of all evils.
Keys says
How do you know these things, I. itace m. ?
boakai ngombu says
itace, you’re still dead. your excemplar scrapped the “universal moral law” and introduced another, lesser.

My observation is that no one need say anything hateful against Muslims. Yet it is the Qur’an/Hadiths that give out all the hate and it is true we do not like Hate speech. But that is what Islam is. I read it and scholars. And the hatred is addressed to us. We do not like it. And we are Critical of this FOR GOOD REASON, not Islamophobia at all. But the criticism is not against people but the BELIEF people are Taught from babyhood on. Only the one God thing seems fine to teach. But it is ALL the rest and all the rest is the main part. And Muslims are told this is the Words of Allah himself and must be followed to the letter. We just cannot allow this hatred, same as we could not allow the Waco Texas Cult or any so-called-religion that sets up the hatred the Qur’an/Hadiths do.

Fighting reality wherever it may occur.
Wellington says
Any Christian or Jew who defends Islam betrays their own faith. The reasons for this are voluminous. A reading of the Koran alone would confirm my assertion (accusation?) here, wherein unrelenting hatred is manifested towards non-Muslims in verse after verse (examples being Sura 60:4 and Sura 98:6) of this desultory, disturbing, nauseatingly repetitive, contradictory (the abrogation nonsense) and stupid work that passes for a religious text and which text also denies basic doctrines of Christianity and Judaism (e.g., in Sura 4 where the crucifixion of Jesus is claimed never to have occurred). Then there are the hadiths, the sira and all the major Islamic schools of theology, both Sunni and Shiite, with their heinous pronouncements (e.g., death for apostasy) to further confirm why any Christian or Jew who defends Islam is a traitor to their own religion. The six types of deception allowed by Islam is yet another reason why no Christian or Jew has any business defending Mo’s creed.
This assessment of mine is very harsh. It is meant to be.
LeftisruiningCanada says
Not so harsh Wellington, you could have included more uses of “devil”, “evil” “filthy” etc.
I do agree, anyway. Islam is alien to either of the beliefs you mention. As in several other instances, it simply wishes to attach itself to benign associations for purposes of camouflage. Trojan horse like, if it can’t conquer by direct force, islam enters trying to look familiar, all the while containing the seeds of betrayal and destruction for whoever the latest victim happens to be.
No, your assessment didn’t sound too harsh. It could be much harsher. Islam deserves no less. 🙂
Cheer Bear Girl says
Yet there is no concern for Christians and Jews who are slaughtered by Muslims around the world. I would never team up with he barbaric Muslims.
Granddaddy says
I have grown used to hearing the most ignorant Christian leaders spout about Islam as if they know anything about it. If they did, they would shut up and find something else to do. Instead they keep talking. And now I find that Jews can be just as gullible and usefully idiotic. That’s amazing, especially with all the history of Israel they have to ignore. I’m starting to get the feeling they’re being paid off. It’s the only thing that makes sense. I mean, how can a Jew ignore Israel? It’s beyond ignorance.
Karen says
There seems to be an attitude that Christians should never express disapproval of any kind. Christians themselves forget that Jesus lambasted the money changers in the temple, and overturned their workspaces….yes, he expressed disapproval! And Jews, I think, are very sensitive to anything that could be viewed as bigotry, or worse, because of their experiences with anti-semitism. So, the Left blurs the line between identity and ideology and refuses to let us separate the two, making hatred of an ideology equal to hatred of a person. I’m not sure there’s anything that can be done about it because it takes critical thinking to see past this confusion. But society is largely conditioned to react emotionally, and certainly, the schools are no longer encouraging precision analysis and thought.
StellaSaidSo says
‘…I get the feeling that they’re being paid off…’
You are right, the churches receive HUGE amounts of money via gov’ts and the UN, to ‘facilitate’ the ‘resettlement’ of ‘refugees’. A cynic might wonder if the payments have another purpose – the silencing of criticism.
Karen says
And what will Muslims pledge? Will they pledge to never attempt to implement parts of Sharia Law in the United States? Will they pledge to explain to fellow Muslims the 100+ Koran verses that advocate violence (“Strike at their necks”, “Kill them where ever you find them”, etc.), and seem to incite so many Muslims to violence?
Garfield says
Nope. Bcs this ridiculous taquiyya campaign is all for them and to dupe anyone foolish enough not to question what Islam REALLY teaches. Are they going to ask people to defend child marriage and FGM so as not to be mean to poor jihadist misogynists and pedophiles? Will defending throwing gays off buildings be required in their relationship building nonsense?
Christians and Jews teaming up to fight NONexistent islamophobia is completely insane. Christians and Jews need to team up to expose the freakish hatred and antisemitism in the Koran instead!!!!
Lydia Church says
The march towards apostasy in the false church, the interfaith movement, one world religion, and all things connected is moving on…
don’t jump on that wagon folks!
It leads to destruction even if looks can be deceiving.
Nothing that unites with what is evil can have an outcome that is good.
staffsgt7 says
I went to a farce called an ‘Interfaith Dialog’ in my city and it was basically about the American-Japanese in the city becoming useful idiots for islam because of the internment camps during WWII that were set up for Japanese.
I couldn’t figure out why they called it anything related to ‘faith’! Oh, the moslem’s rituals were gone over – the moslem went over a map of how many countries are now Islamic (not one Christian cared that they were mostly Christian nations before the Islamic genocides and forced slavery/dhimmitude of non-moslems), etc.
AND it wasn’t held by preachers and imams – it was done by two lawyers. One a CAIR member and another a useful idiot to CAIR lawyer.
And when me and 4 others of ourselves spoke up and started to set the record straight – the Presbyterian minister came and told us that we were misbehaving. I am ashamed of Christians – especially the leadership. But we did not stop until we decided to leave.
