“The findings of the investigation indicated that between the years 2014 – 2015 Yusuf’s religious convictions have become stronger, as did his support for the Islamic state.”
What a coincidence! Surely Pope Francis and H.R. McMaster are on their way to Israel now to explain to Hassan Khaled Taher Shih Yusuf how he is misunderstanding his Religion of Peace. Oh no, wait, he wanted to kill Israelis — that’s not something likely to be high on their list of things to oppose.
“Israeli Arab Indicted for ISIS Affiliation, Planning Attacks,” by David Israel, Jewish Press, January 14, 2018:
The Shin Bet spokesperson on Sunday morning announced that a joint operation of the Shin Bet and the Israel Police has led to the arrest this month of Hassan Khaled Taher Shih Yusuf, 27, a resident of Tayibe—an Israeli-Arab city 7.5 miles east of Kfar Saba, on suspicion of supporting the terrorist organization Islamic State and intentions to carry out an attack inspired by said organization.
He is being indicted on Sunday by the Central District Prosecutor’s Office.
The findings of the investigation indicated that between the years 2014 – 2015 Yusuf’s religious convictions have become stronger, as did his support for the Islamic state. He began to follow content online that included preparing explosives (a religious must), tried to get an associated to buy him an illegal M16 rifle, and checked out ways to join ISIS in Syria.
During the summer of 2017, at the time of the Arab protests against placing metal detectors at the entrance to the Temple Mount, Yusuf tried to persuade associates to join him in carrying out attacks in various forms, including a shooting attack in Jerusalem, a car bomb attack in front of the police station in his home town of Tayibe, and a stabbing attack….

I think that is what the Muslims are supposed to do.
Nothing to see here. Move along now.

Agree with Indiana. Muslims understand Islam better than Pope Frank and McMaster whose preposterous statements about JIHADISM (as being an aberration from canonical Islam) are FARCICAL and OFFENSIVELY DISHONEST.

By the way, how did this muslim apologist McMaster get into Trump’s inner circle? Was our President dozing at his desk?

Gordon, while President Trump is–thankfully–solidly Anti-Jihad, he doesn’t understand much about Islam itself, either, which can lead to all sorts of errors, such as this one.

Why is it the more religious they become the more violent they become? Shouldn’t it be the more religious the more peaceful you become?
No, because we are talking about Islam!!!!!
Western society is crazy in allowing this to happen. I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times:
POLITICAL CORRECTNESS HAS TO STOP!!!!!!!!!!! ALL LIEBERALS IN ANY COUNTRY HAVE TO BE REMOVED FROM OFFICE.
People have to take a stand before it is too late!!!

If anyone doesn’t understand why the Israelis have built high walls to try to defend themselves, reading this article tells the full story.
I take it that calling him an Israeli Arab means he wasn’t living in Gaza or Judea and Samaria?
dumbledoresarmy says
Yes. The term “Israeli Arab” means “Arab possessing citizenship of the State of Israel”. He would have an Israeli passport. He would probably have been born in the country to Arab Muslim parents who did *not* heed the call to get out of the way of the jihad armies that attacked Israel on previous occasions but, rather, stayed put.
The correct description for those Arabs, resident in Israel, who are Muslims, like this one, is “Israel-passport-holding Muslim”.
All Muslims thus resident constitute an actual or potential Fifth Column of the Army of Islam.
The ethnically Arab/ arabised *Christians* and atheists could – if the Muslims were not present, bullying and *using* them – probably be ‘deprogrammed (Rev Mark Durie’s “Liberty to the Captives” offers a handy and pastorally ‘road-tested’ recipe for doing just that), lose the antisemitism and dhimmi mindset that currently possesses most of them, and remain within Israel as peaceful law-abiding citizens. Father Gabriel Naddaf is leading the way toward a future of that kind for his ethno-cultural group.
But the Muslims… the Muslims will, in the end, have to be expelled from within the gates, because practically speaking, unless and until they ALL apostasise well and truly (and I don’t see that happening within any timeframe that matters) they are dangerous and will remain dangerous. Best not to gamble on their possible apostasy; just turf them out. Not all at once, necessarily; but, for example, when someone like this demonstrates his murderous enmity, his devotion to Jihad, then if not executed as an enemy combatant he should be stripped of his Israeli passport and dropped off over the fence in jihad armed camp Gaza. And if his family/ tribe/ imam/ mosque can be demonstrated to have known about and enabled his active enlistment as a jihadi, then *they too* get turfed out to Gaza, sans their Israeli citizenship status which they despise and view as a mere temporary and tactical convenience. If the mosque had a part in ‘activating’ him, then it gets raided, searched, and.. demolished.
If something of that kind were the standard procedure on the part of the non-Muslim authorities in Israel, every time a mohammedan from within Israel ‘goes jihad’, I’d guarantee that after ten years there’d be a lot fewer mosques and quite a lot fewer Muslims within Israel.
mortimer says
Dumble, thanks for “Durie’s “Liberty to the Captives””. I will get a copy.
This is a case of REAL LEADERSHIP by Mark Durie.
I believe many Muslims are more than ready to leave Islam and will do so if invited in the correct manner. Christian clergy reading this, please take note: MUSLIMS ARE VERY RIPE FOR EVANGELIZATION.

Ray Jarman says
Dumbledoresarmy, I agree with your assessment and one would think that anyone in that part of the world with a brain would be thankful for Israeli citizenship but not the Arabs. My second most favorite people in the Levant are the Druze. In 1948 the Druze and the Circassians were the only Arabs to accept Israeli citizenship that was offered to all. Both have prospered and they are members of the IDF (as officers & enlisted personnel) and serve in the Knesset.
In retrospect it is probably good that the vast majority of the Muslim population did not choose to become citizens as their birthrate would probably have outnumbered the Jewish birthrate there is no doubt that they would have drove the Jewish people into the sea. One of my favorite moments in life was to stay at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem during Secretary Baker’s trip there following the 1st Golf War. I could feel the intrigue as I remembered at the time that both the Jews and the Arabs collaborated against the British in which much of it took place in the hotel.

Being a Christian, I see a future with the Jews being rescued at the last moment by their Messiah.
0.1% of the world’s population is Israeli yet most of the world is against her. That is why the Messiah will intervene.
I look forward to reading the book.

Prophetic message from Esteemed Rabbi, Joel Teitelbaum:
“The danger for the Jewish People is because those who are irreligious and who are heretics are the leaders of the Jewish People. Therefore because of them the nations of the world are misled into hating Jews, so one of the greatest things to do would be to selflessly proclaim to the nations that the Zionists are not the representatives of the Jewish People, and that religious Jews have no connection with them. We should have had self-sacrifice to do this, but because of our many sins, people are frightened of public opinion, and if anyone should say these things about the Zionists, there will be religious leaders who will fight against them with all sorts of excuses.“

A good article, Halal Bacon–thank you for the link. I have long noted that Islam and other tyrannies are collectivist creeds.
I just have a couple of caveats with the author–I don’t think that the Socialist hive is more dangerous than Islam–a creed that claims its every point comes from the deity and that it affects not just every part of life but also the afterlife is perhaps the most dangerous of all. Certainly, its followers are as fanatical as they come.
And I don’t have quite as jaundiced view of mobile phones and other electronic devices as he does–after all, this can *inform*, as well. Jihad Watch is a fine example of that. And note everyone is connected to the same stuff–it is also more diverse than he might think.
But his main points are absolutely spot on.

Mapping the End of Empire:
American and British Strategic Visions in the Postwar World
by Aiyaz Husain
By the end of World War II, strategists in Washington and London looked ahead to a new era in which the United States shouldered global responsibilities and Britain concentrated its regional interests more narrowly. The two powers also viewed the Muslim world through very different lenses. Mapping the End of Empire reveals how Anglo-American perceptions of geography shaped postcolonial futures from the Middle East to South Asia.
Aiyaz Husain shows that American and British postwar strategy drew on popular notions of geography as well as academic and military knowledge. Once codified in maps and memoranda, these perspectives became foundations of foreign policy. In South Asia, American officials envisioned an independent Pakistan blocking Soviet influence, an objective that outweighed other considerations in the contested Kashmir region. Shoring up Pakistan meshed perfectly with British hopes for a quiescent Indian subcontinent once partition became inevitable. But serious differences with Britain arose over America’s support for the new state of Israel. Viewing the Mediterranean as a European lake of sorts, U.S. officials–even in parts of the State Department–linked Palestine with Europe, deeming it a perfectly logical destination for Jewish refugees. But British strategists feared that the installation of a Jewish state in Palestine could incite Muslim ire from one corner of the Islamic world to the other.
As Husain makes clear, these perspectives also influenced the Dumbarton Oaks Conference and blueprints for the UN Security Council and shaped French and Dutch colonial fortunes in the Levant and the East Indies.

CRUSADER says
As a comment reads on Amazon about this treatise:
———————————————————–
It’s no mean trick to write rigorous academic history with style. Dr. Husain has taken a timeworn tale–the sunset of the British empire set against the sunrise of the Pax Americana–and gave it a new twist. The British and their American cousins had much in common–language, culture, political economy, representative democracy, and a Kantian sense of justice–but it was on the issue of self-determination that the two locked horns. Britain’s bankruptcy after the Second World War left it exposed to Washington’s new blend of power and principle, which extolled freedom in its political and economic meanings while carving out major exceptions at home and abroad for social justice and “darker nations.”
Those wishing to explore the dreams and hypocrisies of American hegemony, whether its presumed empire or its all too real military presence around the world, should look elsewhere. What Mapping the End of Empire illustrates best is how divergent conceptions of geography–a British map dominated by regional power balances and a cold-eyed pragmatism born of decline, an American map spanning the globe in both its sweep and its ambitions–gave rise to dissonance in their respective handling of Kashmir, Palestine, Hong Kong, and other farflung locales where people were carving out new destinies “relieved of the pressure of British colonial overlord-ship from above and buffeted by American anticolonial rhetoric from afar” (p. 19).
This is a tale told in pieces elsewhere (see Wm Roger Louis’s oeuvre, Melvyn Leffler’s Preponderance of Power, and John Lewis Gaddis’s Strategies of Containment); Husein’s genius is to start at the beginning–the maps and the discipline of geography whose connections to power afforded the intellectual force behind two clashing yet allied visions of the postwar world.

There is no doubt that Britain and the US have made political errors, CRUSADER, and have sometimes been short-sighted when practicing “real politik”.
That being said, the main thing that is wrong with the Middle East and beyond *is Islam*. This is true of the story above.
As for being able to find a Muslim who makes his living in the West blaming the West for everything, they are a dime a dozen.
