Islamic law forbids Christians to build new churches: “The subject peoples … are forbidden to build new churches.” (Reliance of the Traveller, o11.5). Islamic law also forbids Christians to repair old ones. And so in this case, the Muslims who attacked the church get off scot-free, while the Christian who set up the unlicensed church is fined.
Why does the al-Sisi regime allow this glaring double standard, even as it has pledged to protect Egypt’s Christians? Either al-Sisi cannot stop this ongoing Muslim persecution of Christians, or he will not. If he cannot, then he is a weak and ineffective ruler. If he will not, it may be that he is practicing steam control, as did Nasser, Sadat and Mubarak before him. That is, despite his affirmations of support for the Christian community, he could be quietly allowing this escalating Muslim persecution as a way to placate the pro-Muslim Brotherhood elements within Egypt, and to keep them from turning in force against his regime.
Meanwhile, Christian leaders in the West largely remain silent about this ongoing persecution, so as not to harm the “dialogue” they’re enjoying with Muslim leaders that has thus far not prevented one Christian from being persecuted or one church from being attacked.
“Leave them; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14)
“Egypt issues suspended sentence to 19 over church attack,” Associated Press, January 31, 2018:
CAIRO (AP) — An Egyptian court has sentenced 19 Muslim defendants to a one-year suspended sentence for attacking an unlicensed church south of Cairo.
Wednesday’s sentence was handed down in Atfih misdemeanor court. The defendants will not have to serve prison time unless they get into trouble again.
Separately, a Coptic Christian defendant was fined 360,000 Egyptian pounds (about $20,383) for setting up the unlicensed church.
The incident took place Dec. 22 when dozens of demonstrators gathered outside the building and stormed it. They destroyed the church’s contents and assaulted Christians inside before security forces arrived and dispersed them….

Disgusting, barbaric behavior on the part of Muslims and el-Sisi.
Lydia Church says
In ‘logic speak,’ we call that persecution.
Linde Barrera says
Disgusting, barbaric behavior on the part of those mentioned Egyptian Muslims. And President el-Sisi shows no concern. That is disgusting too.

Mosques in America should be limited……The mosques are nothing like the Churches in America….Churches teach what Jesus taught
and there is no comparison between the LOVE teaching of Jesus and the HATRED teachings of Muhammad. Further, to limit mosques, no mosque should be allowed to be built in America unless a church in built on Muslim soil…Just think on this…They don’t want even REPAIRS on churches in their lands ….FAIR IS FAIR…But there is no fairness in Islam.

I am shocked and disgusted!
What can we do to help- financially even (with the $20,000 fine?)!!
I know money is not the issue here, but if I could help the Coptic Christian who was fined…. anything at all.

Thank you for your concern and prayers, they are as important as making donations. There is a website for Southern United States Dicese ( suscopts.org) where you can navigate. Under the section “donations ” , there is a drop down box that lists several projects for the persecuted Copts. Some projects name exactly the persecuted group such as the Botroseya Church bombing victims, the church bus victims, etc
I believe you can write your comment on how you want the money sent to
God Bless

In Islamic countries, as Egypt , the Muslim clerics encourage the people in the mosques to go out burn the Bible’s that belong to Christians .Furthermore, in Sunni Islamic nation of Saudi Arabia Bibles are even forbidden to be taken in the country. We all may be sure the Saudi imams have a hand in this policy Likewise, in the Shi’ite nation of Iran, Bibles are even forbidden to be taken into that country. We may all be sure that the Iranian mullahs have a hand in this policy. The reason why the Muslim clerics are so much against the people having Bibles to read is because there is so much in the Bible that is so very damaging to Islamic doctrine that the Muslim clerics sand strongly against the people obtaining Bible’s. For example, Islamic [Koranic] doctrine denies the Jesus is God. In other words Islam denies the Deity of Christ. Nevertheless, the Bible teaches “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.” Colossians 2:9. [N.I.V.] Moreover, the Jesus is God may further be seen in the Bible. As in, for example, John 1:1-3. Colossians 1:15-17. Romans 9:5. Second Peter 1:1. Titus 2:13. First John 5:20. In addition, for a person to further find out that Jesus is God all a she or he has to do in to compare the Old Testament with New Testament to see that Jesus is God. AS by comparing Isaiah 45:22, 23 with Philippians 2:5-11. Likewise by comparing Psalm 89:8,9 with Matthew 8:23-27. Will also confirm that Jesus is God. Also by comparing Psalm 62. 5-7.with First Corinthians 10:4. Just by comparing the New Testament books together will like show that Jesus is God .For example, comparing John 5:22. with Romans 14:12 shows the Deity of Christ. The list can go on but this should be enough for anyone who is willing to see, and not as those who Bible calls those who are willingly ignorant, II Peter 3:5., that Jesus is God. The imams and mullahs as well as the other apologists for Islam will try to “explain “ all this away by making the claim that the Bible had been corrupted by Christians, through time, and that’s why the Bible reads as it does. This claim they make very much underestimate the Power of God to preserve His Word and keep it safe and intact and away from the corruption of men. In conclusion, The Muslim clerics strongly dislike the Bile because the Bible greatly exposes the terrible doctrinal errors that Islam with the Koran as Islam’s foundation have concerning the nature of Jesus. Likewise the Bible exposes Islam as a false religion, Isaiah 8:20. Proverbs 14:12. All dear Muslims then are invited to turn away for the false religion of Islam and come to and receive the real Jesus of the Bible. Who is the True Light to the world, John 8:12. and the only way to God the Father , John 14:6.

Until the Muslims renounce their false prophet and confess Jesus Christ as Lord, I care not how many of them are slain by Americans, Israelis or other Muslims.

Anyone who has ever banked hopes on Al-Sisi being a reformist voice of muslims in Egypt is delusional. Egypt is deeply infested by Muslim Brotherhood (since that is its place of origin) which is keeping in check anyone who tries to make a difference using cloak and dagger tactics combined with lawfare and taqiyya (unlike the violent approach of ISIS).
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not blaming Sisi for this, for all I know he may have once actually tried doing something to protect Coptic Christians, but it soon became clear to him that if he wants to keep his position (and his life), he would do well not to upset MB and the muslim religious heads, so now he can only talk about doing something while in reality doing nothing.
That is the state of Egypt today and it will be the same no matter who governs it for as long as MB and imams remain deeply rooted in the state.

The violent and vicious Muslims in their murderous persecution of Christians aren’t really going to get away with their destruction of Christians. As the apostle Paul had written each individual Christian is actually, in the View of God, a temple of God. For to Christians, it is written in the Bible “Don’t you know that that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? If anyone destroys God’s Temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.” First Corinthians 3:16,17. [N.I.V.] As in “A man reaps what he sows.” Galatians 6:7.
Voytek Gagalka says
Never forget that al-Sisi carries prayer’s bump (zebibah) on his forehead, thus he belongs to very pious Muslims and is not different from them, all his public statements to the contrary notwithstanding. Thus he is, never was, and never will be true “protector of Christians.” He, if he wants to stay in power must carry balancing play-game, as all of the so called “moderate” leaders from the Muslim-majority world.

Unfortunately, the European Countries are only interested in importing Muslims. The western world embassies in the Middle East are infested with Muslim Employees who work as immigration officers there. They reject visa applications from Christians who just want to visit their children. I know a nun whose visa request to visit an MD overseas got denied. Meanwhile, the embassies are granting visas to all these mohammedans. An Australian embassy in one of the Arab countries got a new ambassador from Australia who is a Muslim of Lebanese origin. The moment he arrived at his new post , he fired the Christians working there and replaced them with Muslims.
I think the western countries need to know about these atrocities that happen in their own backyards .
Gal Istvan says
Believe me, they know everything that happens …. but are too cowardly to do something. The only “concern” of the West is not to be labeled as racist or anti-Muslim.So Christians have been forgotten, and it seems their only hope is GOD …

A few observations:
1. Did anyone with more than 2 neurons really expect a different outcome from this?
2. Al Sisi not only wants to stay in power, he would like to keep his head on his shoulders.
3. Remember those Mistral class aircraft carriers that the KSA bought for Egypt? Sink them. Does anyone with any knowledge of the dynamics of the middle east since 1947 really think these will be used against a muslim country?
The differences between Egypt and Pakistan:
1. Egypt has learned how to conceal their real beliefs, goals, and intentions better than the Pakistanis. They are good at subterfuge.
2. They do not have nukes (yet) that we know of.

I think we canadians should all send a copy of this press release to trudeau. As we all know if he was aware of this he would like to make an announcement to condemn this oppression. Perhaps he would offer the copic christians to come to canada as refugees. We do not have many copics in canada, and since diversity is our strength their percentage to other religions here in canada needs to be topped up.
Actually I do know a few copics and they are wonderful people. The stories they have told me over the past 20 years is quite tragic.
