This is not a “dangerous violation of international law.” You want a “dangerous violation of international law”? I’ll give you a “dangerous violation of international law.” How about blowing up civilians on buses and in pizza parlors? Is that a “dangerous violation of international law”? How about murdering a family that is enjoying a quiet Shabbat dinner at home, and another sleeping in bed at night? That sound like a “dangerous violation of international law” to you, Barhoum? No? How about passing out candy to celebrate all these murders, and celebrating the murderers as heroes, naming schools after them and building monuments to them? Could that be a “dangerous violation of international law”? How about running on your official TV station children’s shows that encourage them to commit mass murder? Any “dangerous violations of international law” there? Well, keep looking, Fawzi. I’m sure you’ll find one eventually.
“Hamas Cries Foul After US Designates Its Leader as ‘Global Terrorist,’” by Patrick Goodenough, CNS News, February 1, 2018:
(CNSNews.com) – The Trump administration has designated the leader of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, as a “specially designated global terrorist” (SDGT), targeting the head of a violent Palestinian group that has been trying to clean up its image.
Hamas called the move a “dangerous violation of international law” and said it would not deter the group from “liberating its land and holy places.”
Specially designated global terrorist designation takes place under executive order 13224, a post-9/11 tool designed to disrupt funding to terrorists. Americans are prohibited from engaging in transactions with SDGTs, and any assets they may have in the U.S. are frozen.
Haniyeh’s designation was first announced Wednesday by Nathan Sales, the State Department’s coordinator for counterterrorism, while addressing a conference of the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv.
“Haniyeh is the president of Hamas’ political bureau,” he said. “He’s also closely tied to the group’s terrorist operations, including attacks on Israel citizens. Haniyeh has been a member of Hamas since the 1980s and he rose through the ranks in large part by continually championing terrorism against Israel.”
Sales noted that as recently as last month, Haniyeh called for a new uprising (intifada) against Israel. Haniyeh issued the call after President Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
“His calls for a renewed intifada just last month underscore how important today’s designation is,” Sales said.
“We will not be distracted by Hamas’ efforts to obscure its true and bloody nature.”…
Responding to Wednesday’s designation of Haniyeh, Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said the move was further proof of “American bias” toward Israel, providing “cover” for Israeli crimes and encouraging the targeting of the “symbols” of the Palestinian people.
Barhoum also called the decision a “dangerous violation of international law” under which, he said, the Palestinians have “the right to defend themselves and to resist the occupation and to choose their leadership.”
He said Hamas believes the timing of the U.S. move shows that it is trying to combat Hamas’ leadership as it works to “abort” Trump’s yet-to-be-unveiled “deal of the century” Middle East peace plan….

I think it is time to take him out. Once he is a head of state Executive Order 11905 prevents Trump from having him killed. And while he is at it, Hassan Nasrallah also could do with with some special attention.

Entire agreement on both the above…….especially if it’s possible to catch them without their human shields……

This disgusting Hamas- affiliated creature is upset because he is being called exactly what he is. God bless President Trump.

No doubt Hamas is also ‘enraged’ that the ‘global terrorist’ is called it’s ‘top dog’.

Hamas’s denial of the legitimacy of this designation brings to mind the phrase (or at least it should be a phrase) “Ignore the truth at your own peril.” Walking around in a denial fantasy world might occasionally be useful in the short-term but there invariably comes a time when the check must be cashed and then everyone’s sorry. Imagine the danger of maintaining it isn’t harmful to be struck by a car, or that smoking is healthful; now ramp that up by an order of magnitude going from individual to civilizaitonal level. It gets bad. Look at Muslims going around constantly being found to be staging “Islamophobic” events which ironically are themselves acts of continual bigotry against us all. Maybe the governments pretend they don’t mind, or even take a ridiculous position of ignoring the truth along with them and sympathizing with them for something which didn’t happen, but it all ends up in the piggy bank of public opinion and then Muslims are crying the blues when it comes time to pay the bill for the animus they continually direct at us all.

Interesting psychological interpretation. Perhaps all Islam needs in order to collapse is more sunlight.
faraway says
Talking of sunlight, it was suggested recently that muslims’ frequent mental health problems could be partly caused by a lack of vitamin D. So you might on to something!
gravenimage says
That mostly affects the women forced to wear Burqas. The men are just as unhinged, if not more so.
faraway says
gi: the men tend to be covered up too.I live in a region where there are many muslim manual workers and I’ve never seen a devout muslim in shorts or shirtless.
Georg says
As Islam is a particularly inhumane ideology the leaders in their societies tend to have to set up an intellectual valve where more humane ideologies can’t get in, thus with the ayatollahs and Islamic State removing satellite dishes. Our more humane ideology, on the other hand, can be exposed to theirs and be unpersuaded (minus leftist morons). But “sunlight” alone seems not to be enough, as they come here and the religion not only doesn’t collapse but uses resources gained from our comparatively enlightened ideology to further its fascistic, retrograde ends. This might have to do more with psychology than logic in that Muslims tend to have an absurdly strong attachment to their ethnicity–no matter how obviously ridiculous and dangerous it is shown to be; in this sense it is more pathological than ideological.
eduardo odraude says
Good points. And sunlight might not be enough. On the other hand, David Wood has pointed out that ours is the first generation with full access to the core Islamic texts as well as the ability instantly to disseminate criticism around the globe. Islam has never had to face the full light of criticism until now. Evil seems incredibly strong, until the moment it is revealed as fundamentally weak and folds like a cheap tent. Shortly before the Soviet Union collapsed, “experts” continued to predict that it would be around a long time. True, we shouldn’t rely on sunlight alone, but we may find ourselves pleasantly surprised by what sunlight can accomplish sooner than we expect. In the Wizard of Oz, destroying the wicked witch of the West turned out to be as easy as dousing her with water, which caused her to dissolve rapidly into nothing — and water in that case, perhaps because of the living water spoken of in the New Testament, is arguably a metaphor for the truth. Sometimes mere truth, sunlight, living water, is astonishingly and quickly devastating to evil.
Nevertheless, other things are needed besides sunlight. Until a majority of Muslim-majority nations permit real freedom of religion, Muslim immigration to non-Muslim nations should stop. Much of the left would adamantly reject such a policy, but independents and conservatives might be persuaded in time to support it. Such a policy would not only protect the West. It might help to liberate the Muslim world.
gravenimage says
I think “sunlight” is exactly what we need. Most in the West still know little about Islam.
Georg says
A lot of scholarly opinion thought the Soviet Union would be around a lot longer than it was able to hold out, but our racing them in nuclear development essentially served to bankrupt them as they couldn’t keep up. So, information getting past the Iron Curtain was always a good thing, I guess what I meant to say is that sunlight is maybe necessary but not a sufficient aspect to bringing down something as nasty as Islam. There need to be economic, political and, unfortunately, military pressures as well as robust defenses domestically. But David Wood’s point seems important in demonstrating Islam has never faced this degree of scrutiny or pushback. It’s doomed, but the question is how much damage will it do in its hysterical finishing clashes and death throes as reason floods its holdouts. I don’t see something resembling The Enlightenment coming to Afghanistan for a very long time.
eduardo odraude says
Ismail Haniyah and the Hamas members protesting their new designation are adult spoiled brats who want it both ways. They want to be able to intentionally target civilians for murder, but they don’t want to be designated as murderers. They have been spoiled by useful idiot leftist enablers, who due to blind ideological agendas permit Hamas to deceive itself that its anti-Semitic cause is righteous, as absurd as that is. Admittedly, even without leftist useful idiots, Islamic jihad would continue, but its real motives and outlook would be stripped bare for all to see except those deluded by Islam.
Georg says
Good point about leftists giving them absurd [criminal] expectations; it practically makes leftists accomplices.
Linnte says
Oh they ARE complicit! Even if unwittingly complicit. Adults should have the where withal to gain knowledge of what and who they support. The Left has no interest in delving into Islam.
David says
I suspect that once Mr Trump takes care of the swamp he will get around to dealing with these guys. It is the swamp that provides their protection.

Not to mention putting Jew and infidel hatred in children’s textbooks, paying dead terrorist suicide bombers’ families lifetime pensions, running Madrasas for children teaching techniques for killing infidels and combat training, …..
Islam is terrorism.

Mr Spencer, how about murdering more than 1000 palestinian civilians by fascist evil zionist state of Israel in a single operation and demolishing their houses while they are still inside ? Is that not a heinous crime against humanity a violation of international law ?
LeftisruiningCanada says
You will have proof of that, of course.
Would be a shame to claim such things, only for it to be shown as (another) shame photo op put on by deceptive, media-whoring, money grubbers wouldn’t it?

Ibrahim itace Muhammad: Your own source texts say that Muhammad ordered the torture of a man in order to get hold of a treasure Is that a good man to follow?
We learn of the incident in the earliest Muslim biography of Muhammad, pages 511-517 (758-766 in the Arabic). https://archive.org/stream/TheLifeOfMohammedGuillaume/The_Life_Of_Mohammed_Guillaume#page/n279/mode/1up
The same pages in that earliest Muslim biography of Muhammad also tell us that after the torture, Muhammad had the man beheaded, and that later that night, or the next, Muhammad took into his private tent for consummation of “marriage” the tortured man’s widow, whose father and other male relatives Muhammad had just killed.
The following video begins with the words “Dear Muslim,” spoken by a former Muslim who goes by the moniker “Brother Ismaa’eel.” As you will see, Brother Ismaa’eel, who is fluent in Arabic and English, displays in this video the primary Islamic source texts where those actions of Muhammad are described by early Muslims themselves:

When murderous criminals and terrorists posing as representatives of rogue pseudo states are starting to be so insolent as claiming “violation of international law” (whenever anyone tries to counter their deadly activities), international law which they themselves are violating daily all in the name of invented pseudo “religion” initiated by the insane pseudo “prophet,” you can be sure that it is the lowest of the low in corruption and utter moral inversion and depravity. It is time that “international law experts” would start to think how to wipe out, once and for all, such persons as this Ismail Haniyeh pretending to be “president” of Ham-ass. Sooner the better and all in the name of the international law.
Lydia Church says
If he wants to see a ‘dangerous violation of international law,’ tell him to see the koran!

Exactly. If only Muslims were a fraction as rigorous with themselves as they are with non-Muslims.
