“Even today, he appears to remain steadfast in that commitment and has shown no remorse. The defendant’s communications while incarcerated further demonstrate that, far from appreciating the depravity of his actions, he is proud of what he did, scornful of the American justice system, and as dedicated as ever to his terrorist ideology.”
And while he is in prison, even if it is for the rest of his life, what will be done to disabuse him of that terrorist ideology? Nothing. In fact, U.S. prison officials will do everything they can to reinforce it. The U.S. prison system, like the military and more, is committed to the proposition that Islam is a religion of peace, and that its practice is to be encouraged. Confronted with someone like Rahimi who tried to murder people in the name of Islam and in accord with its teachings, they give him a prison life that is filled only with reinforcement of the ideology that landed him in prison in the first place: prayers with other inmates, the Qur’an supplied and treated with the utmost respect, etc.
“Chelsea bomber gets multiple life prison sentences for New York blast that injured 30,” by Travis Fedschun, Fox News, February 13, 2018:
The convicted terrorist who planted two pressure-cooker bombs on New York City streets — including one that injured 30 people with a rain of shrapnel when it detonated — was sentenced Tuesday to multiple life terms in prison.
Ahmad Khan Rahimi, 29, was convicted in October of planting pressure-cooker bombs in New York and New Jersey on Sept. 17, 2016.
The blast in New York City happened hours after a small pipe bomb went off during a Marine Corps 5K run in Seaside Heights, N.J. No one was injured in that explosion because the race had been delayed. A subsequent two-day manhunt ended in a shootout with police in New Jersey, where Rahimi was shot several times. No police were wounded.
Federal prosecutors said Rahimi has not shown remorse since his arrest, and has tried to radicalize fellow prisoners at the federal jail in New York.
“He is proud of what he did, scornful of the American justice system, and as dedicated as ever to his terrorist ideology,” they wrote.
When asked to speak at his sentencing Tuesday, Rahimi said he doesn’t “harbor hate for anyone.”
Rahimi, an Afghanistan-born man inspired by ISIS and Al Qaeda in 2012, began attempting to radicalize other inmates at the Metropolitan Correctional Center late last year.
According to prosecutors, he shared propaganda materials, speeches by terrorist leaders such as Usama bin Laden and Anwar al-Awlaki in addition to bomb-making instructions. One inmate who was said to have viewed the materials was facing charges of providing material support and resources to ISIS.
Sajmir Alimehmeti, who is accused of trying to recruit for ISIS, was moved last month away from Rahimi after he was caught with a thumb drive of materials that included bomb-making instructions and copies of an Al Qaeda magazine, according to the New York Post.
“As the evidence at trial demonstrated, the defendant was committed to waging his holy war against Americans years before he carried out his attack,” prosecutors said of Rahimi. “Even today, he appears to remain steadfast in that commitment and has shown no remorse. The defendant’s communications while incarcerated further demonstrate that, far from appreciating the depravity of his actions, he is proud of what he did, scornful of the American justice system, and as dedicated as ever to his terrorist ideology.”…

They should bring back Public Hangings….instead of housing this animal for all those years to come..
CRUSADER says
Indeed.
But hanging is too good for him.
We might as well get some target practice or some military justice, by having our SpecOps guys practice on him….by whatever means they deem necessary for training.
SpecOps continually cycles out, so new guys need their “kills”.
CRUSADER says
You know….
….part of improving their training to develop their
‘kill set.

Yes, the poor man’s just misunderstood – after all, we ALL know that islam is THE religion of peace,, don’t we?!

Not sure about public hangings, but I support the death penalty for jihadis. Our prisons are already full of these savages, who incite other inmates to the same hatreds, while draining resources better spent on keeping good citizens alive. How long before these trials are a daily event? How many new prisons will we need to build to accommodate murderous Mohammedans? Time to get honest. This is war.

Better still, they should burn the camel piss drinker at the stake.
J D S says
Yeah…put him in prison feed clothe, shelter and medicate this barbarian and many more, using up tax dollars for useless people who will never change.
It will never happen but I believe that laws should passed pertaining to terrorist, any terrorist, that should lives be in danger during a terrorist attack, the terrorist faces the death penalty…quit jailing these nuts. Remove them permanently. NO GUTS OFFICIALS WILL NEVER, NEVER GO FOR THAT.
Jim says
Total Death sentence for all these idiots from the DEVIL, like this man said, why feed
Them for years?????”

Oh, I sooooo agree with you. He will have free meals, healthcare, and who knows what more. The tax payers should not have to pay for this moron……

Ahmad Khan Rahimi is just a good Muslim. Why is anyone surprised? I’m sure his only regret is not having murdered any of the “filthy Infidels”.

Federal prosecutors said Rahimi has not shown remorse since his arrest, and has tried to radicalize fellow prisoners at the federal jail in New York.

What will prison officials do to prevent this?
CRUSADER says
His sentencing is a much a sentence to death than anything else, so if we can get passed his potentially lengthy appellate case, and just make him designated as a combatant, and subject to summary execution.
Don’t give these perps the chance to remain viable, by continuing to live years, when they cut short the lives of others…. These jihadis are clearly at WAR.
Reagan didn’t allow the Russians at the time to have the world designate (in the case of the PLO) freedom fighters as non-combatants, and we have to do the same for Jihadists, designate them as combat status, so military tribunals can dispatch with them, send them on to Valhalla, as we of the North would say…..
Frank Anderson says
If another BHO gets into office those multiple life sentences go away quickly. Look at the “non-violent offender” drug dealers who were sentenced to 100 plus years each now on the streets to deal again. If the harm from drug violence were done in a week or so in 1 city or state instead of spread out over a year and all over the US, the death and destruction would rival any war experience in history. According to the current definition of “non-violent offenders” only those who actually do the killing are violent. Those who inspire, direct or motivate killing are non-violent. So Hitler, Himmler and all the higher-ups of the Holocaust were *non-violent! All it takes is for one person to get elected to one office with the power to commute and pardon to render every prison sentence a joke. What am I missing?
Roderick MacUalraig says
Why can’t he be executed? Taxpayers get to provide food & shelter for the rest of his life, including the people he injured if they’re still able to work? And he’ll get to do the Islamic preaching to fellow inmates I’m sure, creating more genocidal monsters?
That’s not justice.
Santa Voorhees says
Agree. No arrest, no jail, just an immediate execution on the spot. Period.
Barguest says
Absolutely. Followed by interment wrapped in a pigskin shroud. And let it be known far and wide that was the scumbag’s fate.
Muslims are terrified of the ‘torments of the grave’, so let’s make them understand that’s exactly what awaits them if they commit jihad. Might go some way to focussing their minds.
Jim says
If our law puts these nice monsters in gaols, then feed them with PORK Chops everyday, that should be a delicious ? meal. So let them not eat, they could kill one another, and follow their own laws and they get 90 virgins when they get to their heaven, don’t they??????
Joe says
If we would reverse the laws that prohibit forced labor in prisons, we could turn prisons into profit centers. These kinds of guys were worth money in the old days. For example, they were used to pay off war debt.
When someone receives this sort of sentence, he should be put to work. “Where there’s a whip, there’s a way” (Lord of the Rings). In addition, the amount of food that he gets would be a function of his work.
This is better for him and society. It builds some sense of ethic in him, and society makes a profit on the deal.
For example, rather than sending all of our electronic junk to China, we could send it to some island where guys like this are stationed. They would reprocess the junk. It is good for the environment, and it makes the prison profitable.
There many other types of similar occupations for prisoners.

Not a proven 2; hour lock-down solitary without a TV, radio, Internet, And all periodicals, Newspapers censored. He’s in prison not just for punishment but for being an on-going threat to Americans. He has no rights since going to war with us. It’s a shame he wasnt charged with treason and executed.

Super Max Colorado solidary confinement 23 hours a day own shower in room on a timer. One hour in small court yard to see sunlight and walk by himself.TV only a couple of censured channel a couple hours a day. Yep. Notorious hate preacher, Abu Hamza, is serving a life sentence in Colorado Super Max. He got caught trying to establish a terrorist training camp in Oregon. Poor chap has recently been whining about how homesick he is for Britain. I expect Belmarsh looks like a luxury resort compared with the Alcatraz of the Rockies.

I don’t understand why “draining the swamp” doesn’t include prison sentences that are designed to make going to prison as least appealing as possible for orthodox jihadists. There is food served there. One can’t get Halal Food. There are books there. One can’t get a Koran. There is “free time” there. A prayer rug is denied. Kneel on your shirt.
Everyday one would go to a room to hear Victim impact statements that pertain to your crime. We don’t supply pedophiles access to reading or viewing material that pertains to their penchant, so as Islam is the source of the particular criminal activity we are concerned about, why do prisons supply everything that educated the jihadist to act in the first place?

Why is he wearing a FLAK jacket ,Put him in a bomb belt ,In the middle of a field and let him have his rights to see ALAH
Frank Anderson says
Charles, I hope there is tremendous sarcasm intended. Think about how Dallas law enforcement officials felt when they paraded fully exposed Lee Harvey Oswald through a mob including Jack Ruby, who shot Oswald dead to keep him from telling “things”. I do not believe any law enforcement officer, even the most incredibly unrepresentative extreme of the stupid, would want to risk that kind of eternal embarrassment at their incompetence. “Those who cannot remember. . .” Jorge Santayana, The Life of Reason (1905). But, wishing for justice is still permitted.

So lots of time in jail to meet his buddies and convert more hood rats to islam? And everything is paid by the public hand. And don’t bet your ass that the review board may never change their opinion on him. They turn enough blind eyes already.

Right now he is awaiting sentencing ,when he is sentence hopefully it will Colorado Super Max 23 hours a day solidarity confinement .One hour a day walking in a small courtyard along except for the guards. Visitors have to make appointments months in advance with approvals from officials .All mail in or out for prison inmates is screen. No computer access limit TV viewing on censure channels. It would be good if they put him in solidary confinement now awaiting sentencing but NYC is run by a progressive mayor idiot so he can mingle with the general population in jail in New York City awaiting sentencing.
