It’s the same thing every time: if someone who speaks the truth about the nature and magnitude of the global jihad, including John Guandolo and me, is invited to speak anywhere off the conservative reservation, there are protests, defamatory “news” articles, and calls for us to be canceled. There is no engagement with or refutation of what we say, although, as in this article, there are sometimes tendentious presentations of statements we have made, presented without refutation as if they’re self-evidently false.
It shows that powerful forces, such as the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations and the hard-Left smear group the Southern Poverty Law Center, are deeply afraid of us. They know they cannot show us to be wrong, so they defame and smear us, in accord with the Alinskyite playbook, and do everything they can to intimidate and frighten timid event sponsors (which is usually pretty easy) into canceling the event. Cowardice is pandemic in our ridiculous age: look below at all the Bend, Oregon public figures who rush to distance themselves from Guandolo. Have they studied the issues and know that what Guandolo says is false? Of course not. They just don’t want their petty little domains threatened by pressure groups such as Hamas-linked CAIR calling for their heads — but their cowering and kowtowing only encourages CAIR to continue its tactics: they keep working.
One day maybe Wikileaks or someone will reveal who gave the order, and how it was delivered. But every mainstream media reporter, down to the smallest and most insignificant outlet on the planet, has gotten those orders, and always obeys them down to the last detail. The orders clearly must say that Hamas-linked CAIR and the SPLC should be treated as trustworthy, reliable sources, while those who note the obvious and readily demonstrable fact that Islamic terrorism stems from and is justified by texts and teachings of Islam is to be treated as a crank, a pariah, a notorious bigot. Julia Shumway of the Bend Bulletin, like every other mainstream media reporter on earth, has gotten those orders, and follows them here. Hamas-linked CAIR, she says, is “a Muslim civil rights organization.” Like every other mainstream media reporter on the planet, Shumway doesn’t see fit to inform her readers that CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department. CAIR officials have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Ibrahim Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements about how Islamic law should be imposed in the U.S. (Ahmad denies this, but the original reporter stands by her story.) CAIR chapters frequently distribute pamphlets telling Muslims not to cooperate with law enforcement. CAIR has opposed virtually every anti-terror measure that has been proposed or implemented and has been declared a terror organization by the United Arab Emirates. A CAIR operative recently called for the overthrow of the U.S. government.
Shumway also tells us that “the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate groups, considers Guandolo an anti-Muslim extremist.” Why is the SPLC trustworthy as an arbiter of what is a hate group and what isn’t? Shumway, like every other mainstream media reporter in the galaxy, doesn’t see fit to tell us, or to inform her readers that there is considerable evidence that the SPLC is not a neutral arbiter, but a hard-Left smear group that uses its “extremist” label to tar legitimate groups that oppose its Leftist agenda.
Have you noticed that I keep writing the same things over and over again? That’s because the paradigm is well established. The play has been written, and everyone always acts out his or her part. Here’s how it goes: venue announces speaker on counterterrorism and jihad. Hamas-linked CAIR protests, calls for cancellation of “bigoted” speaker. Mainstream media reporter writes about the controversy, writing negative and distorted statements about the speaker, while invoking CAIR and the SPLC as if they were neutral and reliable sources. The only plot variable is that sometimes the event goes on as planned, but more often it is cancelled or disrupted beyond any value (as in my experience at Stanford University).
Sometimes there is also an extra act, in which Spencer exposes the dishonesty and slanted reportage of the “journalist” involved, and the “journalist” angrily defends his or her work, doubling down on the trustworthiness of CAIR and the SPLC, and the wickedness of Spencer and any other foe of jihad terror who may be involved.
