Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Rome’s Colosseum turned red to protest Pakistan blasphemy law

Feb 25, 2018 12:28 pm By Robert Spencer

This is the foolish modern West at its most foolish. No doubt the highest officials in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan are today quaking in fear and drafting legislation to repeal Pakistan’s blasphemy law, because the Colosseum was lit in red. And watch out: if the Pakistanis don’t jump to repeal the blasphemy law, they’ll bring out the big guns: they’ll paint St. Peter’s Square red, too.

“Rome’s Colosseum turned red to protest Pakistan blasphemy law,” by Philip Pullella, Reuters, February 24, 2018:

(Reuters) – Rome’s ancient Colosseum was lit in red on Saturday in solidarity with persecuted Christians, particularly Asia Bibi, a woman condemned to death under Pakistan’s blasphemy laws….

The Catholic woman has been living on death row in Pakistan since 2010, when she was condemned for allegedly making derogatory remarks about Islam after neighbors objected to her drinking water from their glass because she was not Muslim.

Human rights groups such as Amnesty International say the blasphemy law is increasingly exploited by religious extremists as well as ordinary Pakistanis to settle personal scores.

The only real reason that Muslim nations, as Pakistan, have “blasphemy laws” enacted is because Islam, with its many falsehoods, is such a weak and fragile religion that it can stand up to or hold up to criticism, at all. No matter how very mild those criticisms might be.

What was wrong with his comment? It was obviously just very good. Islam cannot exist unless backed up by internal threats. Their own top dogs openly say so themselves.

        ……………………….

What Walter Sieruk has to say is objectively true–any creed that has to resort to imprisoning and murdering people who dare to criticize an idea *is* weak.

And note that Ibrahim itace muhammed is saying that lying about other faiths and not backing it up with any reference–such as his endless claims that Christianity is actually a minor Roman military cult or that Jews worship an ancient Near Eastern pagan mother goddess–is “objective” is just absurd.

And no–threatening to murder people is *not* objective criticism. Is it any wonder that a pious Muslim like Ibrahim itace muhammed does not know what “objective” means?

        • Carolyne says

          Feb 26, 2018 at 1:25 pm

There was a time when Christians (Catholics, of course as they were the only Christians at the time) resorted to torture and death for minor infractions of their faith. The Auto de fe is a prime example. Also, when Protestantism came along, Catholics were persecuted in England and even today, a Catholic may not be heir to the throne. When Mary Tudor became queen, Protestants were murdered and there is even a memorial in the middle of the street in Oxford where Bishop Fisher and others were martyred.

But Christianity has progressed in humanity and these acts no longer take place, nor would civilized law allow them. Today, true Christianity seems to endeavor to follow Christ’s example. Islam, however has not changed from the barbaric, bloody, inhumane creed that it was and is today. Centuries of first-cousin marriage have deformed their brains to the extent that they are unable to progress.

If one wishes an example, look no further than Ibrahim.

Carolyne, there is not doubt that some Christians have done terrible things.

Unlike Islam, the Bible does not incite violence or any kind of hatred. The violent history is reported as truth AND how much God hates transgression of HIS law.

Nowhere does the Bible command colonization or other evil practices.Jesus the perfect man and God incarnate divided the domain of God from the king. The more you compare Bible and koran you will understand that Islam is an antithesis of God.

The Crusades are tarred by historians for something they were not. At the time they were launched first in 1095, Islam had conquered 2/3 of the previously Judeo-Christian world, and Islamic armies continued their attempts to conquer and occupy all of Europe. Certainly, 400 years of not dispatching armies against Islam was long overdue. Crusaders were manned by heroes and rogues, like every other army in the world, and tainted by popes and kings who attempted to profit from them, true enough. But there is no need for the Christian world to consider apologizing to Islam for the Crusades, not then, not now, and not ever.

Second, vote for Matteo Salvini’s La Lega party (formerly La Lega Nord). Whatever his faults, he has promised to shut down all illegal mosques in Italy, leaving only a handful of legal ones. And sometimes, in his speeches, he seems to suggest he is prepared to shut them all down. Either way will be a great improvement.

If the Pope had any guts he would pay an official visit to Pakistan. And as soon as he got there he would do the rounds of every Catholic church… and he would *demand*, of the Pakistani Head of State, that he be permitted to visit Asia Bibi in prison and celebrate the eucharist for her, in her prison cell.

And then if they refused to let him pay her a pastoral visit he would denounce their wickedness and cruelty loudly and incessantly and demand that Catholics the world over put pressure on their governments to press Pakistan – by measures such as the cutting-off of aid, trade embargo, and similar measures – to release her and to cease from abusing the human rights of Christians and of other non-Islamic minority groups.

And if he *was* permitted to visit her.. then he would carry out the pastoral visit, administering communion to this courageous confessor of Christ; and *then* he would … denounce the wickedness and cruelty of Islamic Pakistan loudly and incessantly and demand that Catholics the world over put pressure on their governments to press Pakistan to release her and to cease from abusing the human rights of Christians and of other non-Islamic minority groups.

Maybe something is finally going to happen for Asia Bibi after 8 years, though the demand should concern the law itself (in the name of Asia Bibi)–with the question of any trade deals with Pakistan a whole other matter…

Things seem to have changed since two years ago. So, now the Pope receives the husband and daughter of Asia Bibi and says he thinks of her often? Two years ago he had nothing to say to her husband and daughter when they made the trip to Rome and were in his receiving line:

“In the fleeting encounter along the barriers – as can be seen in the video – the pope brushes past the two, accompanied by the children’s tutor. He does not listen to them, he does not speak, he does not bless them. The girl looks at him with amazement at such coldness. Everything takes place as if the name of Asia Bibi means nothing to Francis…next to their little daughter is Ignacio Arsuaga, founder of the humanitarian association HazteOir.org. Who tried uselessly to tell the pope, in Spanish, who the man and his daughter were, not even succeeding in handing him the dossier he wanted to give him.”
      http://chiesa.espresso.repubblica.it/articolo/1351264?eng=y

This, after the letter Asia Bibi had written to him:

“I am holding tightly onto my Christian faith and trust that God my Father will defend me and give me back my freedom. I also trust in you, Holy Father Francis, and in your prayers. Pope Francis, I know you are praying for me with all your heart. I know that, thanks to your prayer, I could be set free. In the name of the Almighty Father and his glory, I thank you for your support in this moment of suffering and disappointment. My only hope is that I will one day be able to see my family reunited and happy again. I believe that God will not abandon me and that he has a plan of happiness and well-being for me, which will come into being very soon. I am grateful to all Christians across the world who are praying for me and doing everything to help me.”

While Benedict had called for her release, Francis would not speak her name. Now, apparently, he’s changed his tune, as if 2016 never happened. Guess this is progress, as Asia Bibi gets closer to a decade in prison.

Funny how the objections to the blasphemy laws center upon how they are “misapplied” (to settle scores, make false accusations) rather than the very idea of a blasphemy law or it’s origins in Islam.
As if it might be okay to kill someone for legitimately insulting a dead man and his creed.

Pointless! It probably is a case of “too little, too late”! But it is better than nothing.
If it is true that Pope Francis has received Asia Bibi’s husband and daughter, it is possible he is beginning to stop being voluntarily blind to the evil of Islam, May it be so! And specially, may his successor be better. God help us,
Has this Pope forgotten what, for example, St thomas Aquinas (among others) wrote about Islam? Perhaps he just doesn’t know it… He isn’t like Pope Benedict who was a very erudite theologian. By the way, I’m catholic, but Church Doctrine tell us the Pope is not INFALLIBLE when he speaks about politics. There are many of us who just don’t accept his word about such matters. We should agree with him only under well defined restrictions and conditions, which is not the case when he speaks about Islam (not a religion, but an ideology).

As for the event, several things can be noted.

    1. On the surface, it looks like a step in the right direction, at least as far as acknowledgement goes. That is a first step. I do want to recognize that. However, I don’t anticipate a second step, actually following with action and stronger words.
    2. It is a public relations move, there has been a lot of criticism about the pope not speaking out against persecution of Christians and not doing enough to help them, and to the contrary, favoring their enemies. So at best this is double-talk.
    3. I think the symbolism goes deeper than what it claims to be. Like one commenter said, and I mentioned last time, it might signal a sort of invitation of an ‘open season’. As we know, many early Christians were martyred in the Colosseum and their blood was shed there. Maybe this is a call for more of the same.
    4. Despite all of that, WE can use it as news for the purpose of shedding light on the real issues of the persecution against Christians in places like Pakistan.

The lighting up of the Colosseum is not the problem. The problem is that those with the power to do something about the problem aren’t doing anything. Even if there were so much international coercion on Pakistan that they revoked their blasphemy laws, and somehow convinced their nearly 200 million Muslims (roughly 97% of their population) not to enforce them, this wouldn’t be enough to solve the problem in the long term. The West itself is becoming more Islamized by the day. The Muslim voting block grows larger, the original non-Muslim population gets smaller. In 30 to 50 years, would the West be able to maintain its pressure on Pakistan? I doubt it, unless we make large-scale drastic changes in what would be, in historical terms, a short period of time.

One could dismiss all awareness-raising and even educational efforts on this vital issue as foolish and useless, in the West, if these efforts are not tied to two programs of action: Ending most if not all Muslim immigration, and removing most Muslims from Western countries. If we don’t do these two things, we might as well just whistle in the dark. There is even majority support among Europeans and Americans for stopping Muslim immigration. The challenge is to get our authorities–who are overwhelmingly and strongly opposed to ending Muslim immigration–to actually implement these policies.

      YES.

And getting a stop put to Muslim immigration is going to be easier than getting authorities to *remove* the damn mohammedans already present (which would have to include those persons of ‘native’ western stock who have betrayed their non-Islamic ancestors, by *converting* to Islam; such persons would have to be defined as traitors, and sentenced to lifelong exile).

Rome’s Colosseum turned red to protest Pakistan blasphemy law
    ………………………..

Maybe my standards are too low, but I’m glad to see anyone in the West speaking out against this. Hell, most of them don’t even notice it. So–kudos (of a sort, at least) to Italy here.

Any attention is at least acknowledgement of awareness, or some modicum of it.

      Good point.

      Awareness can lead to alertness….etc….

Once we learn more, we care more, and thereby defend more.

Somehow I can’t see such a gesture ever happening in Britain, where anyone proposing it would probably be dismissed as a ‘phobe… so while it’s only symbolic, it’s still something – and perhaps will motivate some curious onlookers to find out the story of Asia Bibi.

In England, anyone proposing such an act would be arrested for “Hate speech.”

      YES.

Does Italy give any ‘aid’ to Pakistan? If they do, then it could be stopped. Italian jihadwatchers could press their government to end whatever jizya – er, ‘aid’ – it pays to Pakistan.

Not just Asia Bibi, there are so many persecuted communities. There must be some semblance of order in the Islamic world and the West must do more to make that happen.

It is sad that the Western leaders have helped eradicate human liberties and freedom through modern day slavery of PC and MC.

Only Christians from countries that have blasphemy laws should be given permission to enter Western nations. All aid to these countries should be stopped. Expose all crimes. These are the real solutions to help persecuted Christians.

As a Pakistani, it is shameful to know the country created for the purpose of religious freedom and in the name of Islam, has developed a constitution which itself is unIslamic. The blasphemy laws in Pakistan give anyone the power to blame others, insinuate riots, and give undue punishment to innocent people. These laws forbid any sort of critical discussions from taking place in the country, hence halting the education and understanding of it’s own citizens. We are forced to follow mullahs and everything they say, rather than understand religion ourselves.

With all respect, this is ridiculous. Pakistan drove out, persecuted, and slaughtered Infidels from the very beginning.

And if you look at history, there is *nothing* unIslamic about oppressing non-Muslims–in fact, there is nothing so Islamic as this.

This is, I’m afraid, also mainstream Islam.
