Enforcement of Sharia speech restrictions on America’s campuses — it’s becoming a familiar story, which doesn’t make this any less outrageous.
“Campus Cops Crack Down on Questions about Islam,” by Gary Fouse, FrontPage, March 19, 2018:
[Editor’s note: To help push back against the enforcement of Islamic blasphemy laws on the American campus, support the Freedom Center’s campaign Stop University Support for Terrorists.]
On March 14, I attended a public presentation entitled Islam 101 at Golden West College in Huntington Beach, California. The presenter was Nicole Bovey, a convert to Islam and public information officer at the Islamic Institute of Orange County in Anaheim. Bovey also works with the Muslim Speakers Bureau in Orange County (an arm of the Islamic Networks Group). The presentation was sponsored by GWC professors Kaine Fini (Anthropology) and Communications Professor Kristine Clancy (most of the audience members were her students, and this was part of her class.) The event had been advertised publicly, hence was open to the public. Altogether, there were approximately 50 people present. I videotaped the entire proceeding. The event was scheduled to run from 6:45-9:30 pm. As it was, it was cut off at about 8:30 by one of the professors (more about that later.) During the event, Professor Clancy called in campus police and she admonished a couple of the people in the audience who had asked pointed questions.
Ms. Bovey’s presentation was a very basic and very vanilla presentation of Islam, explaining what Islam is, what it means, who Muslims are, Muslims’ worldwide demographic breakdown etc. Bovey’s lesson plan, consisting of slides posted on the walls, was about subjects like the 5 pillars of Islam, daily prayers etc. She stated at the outset that she was there to clear up misconceptions about Islam. In fact, the first image on the wall was of a masked man representing a terrorist. Yet, it was clear later into the presentation that she was not going to get into areas like terrorism or Sharia law. She invited the audience members to raise their hands to ask questions at any point.
Bovey was doing fine handling soft, non-controversial questions, but plainly could not handle pointed, uncomfortable questions from a few members of the audience, including myself. One audience member identified himself as a former Muslim from Egypt, who left Islam and became a Christian pastor. When he began to contradict statements by Bovey, she became uncomfortable. Subsequently, he was approached by Prof. Clancy who asked him to step outside. He returned a few minutes later. While Bovey was discussing Zakat (Islamic charity giving), another audience member asked her about the categories of Zakat and whether any of them allowed giving to non-Muslims. She was unable to answer the question. Another man in the audience, a Muslim, stated that there was a separate channel of giving other than Zakat that could be directed to non-Muslims.
During Bovey’s description of Islamic daily prayers, I asked her about Sura 1, verses 1-7, from the Quran, which are recited in those daily prayers. I read verses 6-7 to her from an English language Koran that referred to those who had incurred Allah’s wrath and those who had lost their way. I mentioned that according to a hadith, one of Mohammad’s followers had asked who that referred to and Mohammad’s answer was that the former were the Jews and the latter Christians. Bovey danced all around it stating that she didn’t know about that and that she had her own perception of who those people might be.
At one point, Bovey called for a 15-20 minute break because she and her AV assistant had to pray. At that point I turned my camera off and was looking at my cell phone when Professor Clancy began admonishing a couple of the men in the audience who had asked the above questions stating that this was her class. A campus police officer entered the room and a third staff member, International Student Program Director Melissa Lyon, asked a couple of them to step outside. One of the men had not even asked a question and eventually he was able to avoid going outside to talk to police. I captured most of this on my cell phone both inside the hall and outside. After talking with the police, the men were allowed to return.
Later on, Yet another audience member pointed out that modern archaeological studies had failed to identify Mecca as even existing during the time Mohammad was alive. Again, Bovey was unprepared. Professor Fini identified himself as an anthropological professor and responded that there were historical sites associated with Judaism and Christianity which could not be proven to exist during certain times, but that they were accepted as part of tradition.
I was called on for another question and asked Bovey about Hudud Sharia, the punishment section of Sharia law, specifically about the death penalty for apostates who criticized Islam, adulterers and homosexuals. Again her answer was evasive. She then asked me to stop videotaping saying that she feared I would edit it. I assured her I would not. I politely insisted that this was a public event in a public institution and that I had a right to videotape. This was affirmed by the aforementioned anthropology professor. (During the break I had occasion to talk to a campus police officer, and he affirmed my right to videotape.)
As other questioners steered the topic toward sensitive areas, Professor Lyon came racing to the rescue ending the event one hour before its scheduled time. It was pretty obvious that the conversation was going in a direction that Bovey and the professors did not want it to go.
It is clear that Bovey came prepared to give a “happy face” version of Islam to her audience. She was not prepared to deal with the obvious elephants in the room. Virtually every critical question was met with evasion.
Professors Clancy and Lyon completely overreacted to the questions to the point of calling in the campus cops and asking audience members to step outside. Whatever happened to free speech and the free exchange of ideas? There was absolutely no disruption whatsoever. Yet members of the audience were told that their questions were unacceptable. Since when?
And why did Ms. Lyon stop the event 60 minutes early? Because the speaker and her hosts were unwilling to engage in a discussion of aspects of Islam like Sharia law, draconian punishments, and terrorism.
Though the audience was mostly students and mostly members of Professor Clancy’s class, we (the aforementioned questioners) were not the only non-students in the audience. This event was announced to the public. That some chose to come and ask honest questions about Islam should be part of the protocol. Is that not what colleges are supposed to be engaged in? It was stated that Bovey wanted to explain “misconceptions” about Islam. Yet when asked to do so, she gave us tap dances and evasions while the professors tried to silence some of us — and then called the campus police to shut us down. Again, this was an event open to the public.
It is evident that all of these eerie developments clearly were a perfect lesson in Islam 101 — and in which happens to a free society once Sharia starts taking over.
Will we accept this laying down?

HELLO AGAIN TO INDIANA TOM — Please allow me to put this comment along with your first post, about CAMPUS COPS controlling resistance to truth.
As Robert Spencer accurately describes them: gaining power every month at Leftist universities, with students too stupid for resistance against what they will encounter just a few years from today.

CENSORSHIP!
-Justice Clark in 1952 wrote: “…it is enough to point out that the state has no legitimate interest in protecting any or all religions from views distasteful to them. … It is not the business of government in our nation to suppress real or imagined attacks upon a particular religious doctrine.”
-Justice Frankfurter noted that beliefs that are “…dear to one may seem the rankest ‘sacrilege’ to another,” and added concerning “sacrilegious” speech: “…history does not encourage reliance on the wisdom and moderation of the censor.”
U.S. law values and permits the RIGHT TO BLASPHEME because THERE IS NO ESTABLISHED ‘American religion’. What is ‘sacred’ to one person may be highly ‘blasphemous’ to another. Without an officially defined state religion, it is not the responsibility of the judges to intervene.
The police do not have the AUTHORITY to determine that a QUESTION MAY NOT BE ASKED or whether a question is IN GOOD TASTE or that a question may HURT FEELINGS.
The police has a CONSTITUTIONAL DUTY to DEFEND THE FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION… and NO DUTY to SUPPRESS freedom of expression that CHALLENGES the INTELLECTUAL BASIS of a POLITICAL IDEOLOGY.
The police CANNOT DETERMINE which political IDEOLOGY is ABOVE CRITICISM.

We,who are informed, know what’s been going on here and throughout American Colleges and lower schools…professors and teachers of Muslim, Islamic faith as well as a load of liberals have infiltrated these schools and are installing a well oiled plan to bend the mind of our vulnerable young folks…….PARENTS: Get involved..attend meetings talk with teachers and other school officials and even though one might think it will do no good, write, call, email, and even camp out on the doorsteps, of elected officials, local, county, state and federal…let your thoughts known or you will be at fault…SPEAK UP WHILE FREEDOM TO SPEAK IS STILL FREE!!!
Stacy Girl says
Bovey and her AV assistant took “a15-20 minute break to pray.” Ridiculous and entertaining at the same time. What a display. Robert Spencer, have you ever had to shut down a presentation to pray? And clearly, given the plants who show up for your talks, it would be warranted.
gravenimage says
I think they took the break to pray that no one else would ask them tough questions…
Diane Harvey says
Steve Amundson is one very intelligent and astute person.
These pointed question demonstrate, yet again, exactly how brittle Islam is.
Indiana Tom says
Most Nazi and Communist ideologies and theologies are brittle and fragile to criticism. Islam really is not that different.

Japetto Danatelli says
Professors Clancy and Lyon completely overreacted to the questions to the point of calling in the campus cops and asking audience members to step outside.
Wow, that sounds truly bizarre. It’s almost as if the audience were invited to ask questions just so they could be trapped in a kind of sharia enforcement. There was a picture of a masked terrorist on the wall which one might reasonably interpret as an invitation to frank and open discussion about islam. They were told the speaker wanted to “clear up misconceptions about Islam,” and that too seems like a green light to ask practically anything. But when some fair minded questions come forth then bam! in come the sharia police to scold the audience. And frankly, these questions sound nontoxic and well meaning to me, it’s not like they exceeded good taste for bigoted reasons. But this is where we’re at with this thing, there has emerged a new kind of morality police ready to enforce a hyper critical code of conduct in every discussion about islam. Doesn’t matter if it’s Speakers Corner in Hyde Park, in the classroom, or the internet, islam is a taboo subject that can get you arrested, fined, or run out of town. I just had my comments deleted on You Tube an hour ago, once again, because I dared to be candid in my discussion with a muslim. Wish I had a dime for every time I’ve been banned or deleted for speaking the truth about islam’s retarded and violent doctrines.
Norger says
“Clear up misconceptions about Islam” means allow me to misinform you (and the audience) and evade any difficult questions from any kafir who knows more about Islam than he’s supposed to.
Japetto Danatelli says
You’re right, it means clear up and misconceptions about who’s in charge, what you can and cannot say about islam, and what could happen if you don’t toe islam’s fascist party line. Well they aren’t going to stop me, I’m always going to pi$$ in muhammad’s mouth. He was psychopath and murderer and a religious fraud. I’ll never pull punches for that.
CogitoErgoSum says
This event is proof that what you don’t know CAN hurt you.
Japetto Danatelli says
That’s right. Twenty years from people pulled from such discussions may never be seen again. They’ll end up in some sharia camp for indoctrination for islam, and I’m only half joking. People in the west are already getting arrested, fined, and jailed for speech that isn’t even close to any kind of free speech abuse. Just reciting the facts about islam is enough to get you on the government’s black list. If they can get you they will. Tommy Robinson, that British hero, has been harassed like he’s an enemy of the state, when in truth he’s a bigger patriot than most of their politicians. We need to keep a vigilant eye on these subverters here in America, they are constantly trying to sneak their allah sh*t into every cranny of society.

Yes, and it sounds as if the presenter, who is a convert to Islam, converted while having a rather limited knowledge of Islam. She showed a picture of a terrorist but did not go into what the terrorists believe and then provide examples from Islamic scripture to prove the terrorists wrong. Meanwhile, the terrorists are very good at quoting Islamic scripture to prove themselves right. Sounds as if she did not practice due diligence before her conversion and, yes indeed, what she does not know can hurt hurt her …… and us.
CT says
I can’t understand converting to a religion that has doctrinal writings that say to kill apostates. No freedom to change one’s mind later. I guess that’s why I keep seeing people call it a death cult, even though that sounds so harsh.
PRCS says
I imagine, CT, based upon her tap dancing equivocation, that Nicole Bovey, a convert to Islam, liked what little she likely actually knows about “the religion of peace”.
And, hey, there’s that “I’m so special, now” hijab thing.
Norger says
@CT
In his book “Catastrophic Failure,” Stephen Coughlin posits that, consistent with the progressive revelation of the Koran to Muhammed and the “Milestones” doctrine, many converts to Islam are not told about some of the uglier aspects of Islamic theology (I.e. the death penalty for apostates) before they convert to Islam.
noel eliscu says
You are 100% correct you cannot even go England if you published something bad about anything related to Islam. It is okay to slander any religion but Islam.
Norger says
It’s “slander” in the Islamic sense that’s prohibited: statements about Islam that are perfectly accurate, quotations from Islamic scripture etc. It’s forbidden/unlawful to speak truths about Islam that place Islam in an unfavorable light.
Anne Smith says

*Appalling*.
The only good thing is that there were so many Islamosavvy people here asking tough questions. *That* is heartening to see.
CT says
Indeed. It’s ridiculous to be claiming to clear up misconceptions about Islam if you’ve never read the punishments outlined in the Hadith.
eduardo odraude says
Lots of Muslims think they basically know Islam yet clearly have not much studied their own central texts (Qur’an, Hadith, Sira). If you point out nasty stuff Muhammad said and did according to Islam’s own core texts, many Muslims, at least in the West, will deny it until they are shown the actual texts in question. Some of those who are shown gradually abandon Islam. That is David Wood’s experience.
Shmoovie says
Agreed.
If it can happen in CA, it may leak hope for the “islamosavvy” in schools/communities elsewhere.
Creeping islamification VS creeping islamoreality!

The Peoples Republic of California, gee what a surprise … again. Perhaps the American flag should feature 49 stars and 1 question mark?
Yes, a state is just a space defined by geographical limits, but when bad eggs of all sorts have rolled in over the many years and congregate into any single space, you don’t end up with an omelet.
I think PROC will be the first state to openly endorse Sharia law first, disguising it under some sort of sanctuary state right.
Lydia Church says
The only misconception about islam that was cleared up was that it could be ‘whitewashed,’ like they tried to do but failed. The public was not as gullible as they had anticipated.
Bravo to all those at Jihad Watch and the like for that!
It does make a difference.
But wow, yes, draconian.
Karen says
I’d be very interested to know exactly what Prof. Clancy said to the police to summon them to the presentation. “Help! Someone is asking illegal questions about Islam!!” Or, did the cumulative micro aggressions exceed some threshold? I’d speculate that she framed these individuals as trouble makers at a minimum or perhaps even dangerous, and that seems lousey and defamatory, but not surprising.
As an information officer Ms. Bovey needs to come prepared and ready to contend. It sounds like she was neither. But more importantly, why was she there at all? A communications class might invite someone like Bovey to discuss her profession as a guest speaker. But to give a talk on Islam?
gary fouse says
The cops stated that they were informed there was some sort of disturbance.

Interesting. Sounds like there was a bit of exaggeration going on to bring the police to the scene. Crummy.

Now the day would not be complete without a little bit of esoteric fun and ominousness…. so here goes.
About 5 years ago I saw an ‘angry birds’ backpack that said “I’m building an evil empire.”
Hmmm. I thought, that is an odd backpack for kids!
I have seen so many things come into place since then that it makes one’s head spin.
I have mentioned many of them on this site.
Just a few lately…
the colisseum turns blood red….
pope francis tells (was it Erdogan in Turkey?) that they need to ‘start’ cracking down on islamophobia….
social media tech giants start censoring free speech and conservative sites…
people start getting pulled in for questioning and criticizing islam…
a teacher gets put on leave for having a discussion in class that involved questioning the gun control walkout event that was orchestrated by the left….
some activists were detained in the UK just for belonging to the political right, and asked if they were “Christian extremists” (yes, I marked my calendar red on that day that had arrived as I knew it would)
and
things that one thought unthinkable under the US Constitution are happening more and more on a daily basis….
and now back to my obsession with backpacks and secret messages…
I have seen a lot of backpacks with the shadowy darth vader character and he is usually holding that red laser sword which looks like an upside down cross against an almost all black background.
The other day I was at a discount mart and saw a similar backpack that was darth vader style
and it read; “Now the empire begins.”
I thought to myself;
how true indeed!
(I did not see the star wars movies lately and that is another story, I don’t know if that is a common phrase in the movie or whatever, but it is fitting for the situation today nonetheless.)

I don’t know what the police were told to have the questioners removed from the event (rather imagine it was a harassment complaint, however) but it does appear that the police did their job appropriately: having queried the kuffar “perps” and determining that no crime was being committed.
Let’s not blame the police.
gary fouse says
The cop I talked to was polite. I was told that the other cop was telling questioners that their questions were out of line (I am paraphraising).
PRCS says
Thanks for the info.
What questions did that cop ask of you?
As you were told by someone else about the other cops demeanor, it would be good to have that person post that info, too.
gary fouse says
I have passed your request to the appropriate person. I was not asked any questions. I simply assured the cop that there was no disruption going on and that the professor (s) had overreacted.
PRCS says
Thanks, Gary.
That would be an interesting read.
Steve says
The cops didn’t ask me any questions, they stated that I could not ask any questions. To which I asked why? They responded that this was a class. To which I said no, this was advertised as open to the public (which it was, that is how I found out about it). He replied no this is like going into a Math Class, you cannot just ask whatever type of question you want to ask. To which I responded I am entitled to ask whatever question I want to. And there are other people in the audience attending on their own. At a public event on a public campus I can ask whatever I think is relevant. I then turned and walked back into the room where the lecture was being held.
Chris Malan says
The sites with questions about them in Christianity and Judaism come from much earlier than Islam. In fact, I don’t know about Christian sites whose existence is questioned. The Judaic sites whose existence are quenstioned are mostly from before 1000BC. The disputed date for Mecca’s existence is about 620AD – very much later.
And again, the Islamist proponents are from the arts and humanities where facts are not as important as words. There are very few from the sciences, disciplines where facts matter. Taxpayer money to arts and humanities faculties should be stopped worldwide. Those people should rather do something useful, like worm farming or basket weaving.
esther says

why. They city is ON THE WAY—the WAY AND PATH of caravans involved in east–west and

I’ve often held for long that the so called Mod Muslims behave like quantum particles. in that if U think that the quantum particle is matter, it shows classic wave behavior and vice-versa. In a similar manner, mod Muslims orchestrate a DEADLY TROJAN game of deception by treading the thin line that supposedly separates them from Islamic terrorism. If U think that they are mods, they sense that and get very extreme and if U think that they are extreme, they sense that too and get very soft and mod….VOW!!! It is this constant obfuscation and dodging and ducking and weaving, fueled by Taqiyya that completely confuses the non-Muslims and he or she literally gives up in exasperation. This game of cheating is just a softening process of the infidel and makes it easier for their Jehaadi bros in their eventual takeover of the infidel host society/nation in the long run.
Also, the so called mods and their Jehaadi cohorts are very adept at playing the role of the good and the bad cop…this is once again the process of softening up the infidel nation for eventual takeover by Islam.

It’s typical that the leftist liberal doles will pick and choose which Constitutional rights they say belong to them. Freedom of religion comes to mind when they speak of Islam. Except Islam is not a religion (not only); it is a belief system.
Obama supported his Muslim brothers and violated The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952. On the USCIS web site. In Section 212 Chapter 2, it Prohibits entry into America Aliens belonging to an organization seeking the unlawful overthrow of the federal government of the United States by force, violence and other unconstitutional means.
Islamic immigration would be illegal under this law. Why? The Koran, Sharia Law and the Hadith all require complete submission to Islam. To which are against our values and violate the Constitution as it requires them to kill the infidel, which happens to be citizens of the United States.
1952 Immigration and Nationality Act, a.k.a. the McCarran-Walter Act(An act to revise the laws relating to immigration, naturalization, and nationality; and for other purposes)
SUMMARY
Otherwise known as the McCarran-Walter Act, the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 was meant to exclude certain immigrants from immigrating to America, post World War II and in the early Cold War. The McCarran-Walter Act moved away from excluding immigrants based simply upon country of origin. Instead it focused upon DENYING IMMIGRANTS WHO WERE UNLAWFUL, IMMORAL, DISEASED IN ANY WAY, POLITICALLY RADICAL ETC. AND ACCEPTING THOSE WHO WERE WILLING AND ABLE TO ASSIMILATE INTO THE US ECONOMIC, SOCIAL, AND POLITICAL STRUCTURES, WHICH RESTRUCTURED HOW IMMIGRATION LAW WAS HANDLED. FURTHERMORE, THE MOST NOTABLE EXCLUSIONS WERE ANYONE EVEN REMOTELY ASSOCIATED WITH COMMUNISM WHICH IN THE EARLY DAYS OF THE COLD WAR WAS SEEN AS A SERIOUS THREAT TO OUR DEMOCRACY.
The Islamic faith also requires total submission to Islam and its form of government. The law states that Aliens affiliated with any “organization” that advocates the overthrow of our government are prohibited”.
So all who advocate Syrian Islamist refugees into the nation are violating the law, as well as allowing any Muslims into America that practice Sharia law.
Those that advocate that Islam is just a peaceful religion and have rights that fall under the 1st Amendment are not understanding the immigration laws on the books, nor are they understanding what Sharia law really is. It is a government body that goes against the constitution and our Republic and the laws of the United States of America.
How we let the Muslims take control of our society is appalling. It got a foothold under Obama and is growing fast. Obama tried to push his Islamic agenda throughout his presidency from the schools to the military.
Given the long history of Muslim Brotherhood activity in this country, its declared objective to “destroy the Western civilization from within,” and the extensive evidence of successful influence operations at the highest levels of the U.S. government, it is urgent that we recognize this clear and present danger that threatens not only our Republic but the values of Western civilization.
“Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. The Qur’an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest aspiration.”
— Motto of the Muslim Brotherhood

Truly, there is nothing more idiotic than the convert to islam..they have to work hard to justify painting themselves into a corner.
she even took time to “pray” to her god allah..
A god who curses Jews and Christians koran 9:30
A god who tells muslims its ok to break God’s Commandments
Yet somehow, the cognitive dissonance in the mind of the convert prevents them from seeing
the problem with that.
They have difficulty seeing the error of islam’s commandment-of-God teachings in the “holy” koran.
They are unable to see the problem of the “prophet” muhammed: a mass-murdering {abu dawud 4390},black-slave selling{sahih muslim 3901}polygamist fraudster.Such a man who lived a life of unbridled wickedness is no prophet of God!
islam may serve a useful purpose alright:God’s way of separating the chaff from the Wheat.
the chaff are the ones who convert to islam.
KJW says
Robert, I’m wondering in your experiences of attending presentations like this, if colleges are letting ex-Muslims speak. I’m concerned about them knowing an ex-Muslim in Iran and having talked to ex-Muslims from Iraq and Egypt and the pressures and ostracizing they face. In England there is an ex-Muslim group and documentary focusing on a Bangladeshi woman whose friend was killed on the street while walking with him. In England this ex-Muslim organization gets death threats, her family back in Bangladesh has disowned her, and here she is in a “free” country and facing what she had to back home.
Do people not realize how much harder it is for an ex-Muslim to “come out” than in America where Christian parents might not be happy with leaving religion, but don’t disown their kids? My parents weren’t happy and there is some stigma from relatives, but it’s nothing compared to what ex-Muslims face in Islamic countries. Many have escaped to the West. I’ve seen some ex-Muslim talks in the US, but they appear to have older people there not college age students. Hamed Abdel Samad, who in Germany and I think in his 40s, gives talks and has been on a TV show-he has a channel on You Tube that’s in Arabic but there are some translated videos of him. He told us that he’s actually been called an Islamophobe by, presumably liberal Germans. A guy born and raised reciting the Qur’an is called an Islamophobe! He’s one of the best speakers about Islam.
There are some teenage Muslims who don’t want to wear a hijab in the US and want to assimilate, but their parents control them and it’s led to problems. We need to help these ex-Muslims. If they are in an enclave like in France, England, or Dearborn, MI, they are facing the same issues as in the country they came from.
Such talks like these are giving cover to not only Islamic fanatics, imams, and terrorists, but community pressures, and in some cases, honor killings in the US and Canada. Muslims are afraid of other Muslims. In Iraq a cleric in an article said that authorities should come down hard with an iron fist on atheists. Sandra Solomon on YT has gotten threats. (She’s from Saudi Arabia.) I think this issue needs to be stressed more. In Canada where Muslim organizations are pushing for blasphemy laws, this is consigning ex-Muslims to silence about all the bad things about Islam. It’s not acceptable in western countries. I don’t see ex-Muslim articles in Huffington Post or the Washington Post (or I’ve missed seeing them). It appears they always have apologists and Muslims who are vague about the numerous aspects of sharia law calling it “benign” and it’s not just about chopping off hands. Well, I’m familiar with the huge list of sharia rules and fatwas, and how the ulama jurists determine laws based on the Qur’an and Hadith (women not driving in Saudi Arabia, for example, though now they will be allowed.) Another example of that is how women in Iran can’t go to soccer stadiums.
Pamella Geller is aware of these issues, but we need more people than Gellers Hirsi, etc. who are well-known and pilloried and always called agents of Jews. I suppose I should pay attention more to local news to see if any of these talks go on. Parents were in an uproar here about a Muslim woman speaking at a school and it was moved to out of school. Of course you know this woman would speak about all the wonderful aspects of being a Muslim woman. It also appears that my comments on a TEDx talk were deleted in replying to some young and clueless Muslim girls, and I directly quoted the Qur’an. Some thing Islam means peace when it means submission/surrendering. TEDx talks have a lot of women in hijabs talking and I’m wondering how many ex-Muslims or critics of Islam they have speak.
It’s hard to believe we have to talk about this in 21st century America.

Faith Goldy giving speech at Canadian college:

They didn’t ban her yet, but the trash and lies that are being talked about here is shameful
eduardo odraude says
Did she not go on a podcast for the Daily Stormer, the neo-Nazi podcast? Is the claim that she did trash and lies?
LeftisruiningCanada says
She did go on the Krypto Report.
Hear it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAGh3USykUA
Apart from the silly ‘joke’ at the end, and the fact of the associations the podcast has, i’m not sure what the big deal was about. She isn’t a nazi. Talking with nazis about non nazi stuff doesn’t make you a nazi or a nazi sympathizer.
Dunno..what do you think?
eduardo odraude says
Being chummy with Nazis crosses a line for me, especially since she did not at all question what the group thinks and proposes, and she apparently knew (?) what the group stands for. I’m not for the government censoring Nazis, I believe the remedy for bad speech is not censorship but more speech, even when it is proposed to censor Nazis, but I also believe decent people should shun and isolate Nazis and other totalitarians. Reporters should question Nazis or ignore them, not be all chummy with them like she was. Maybe I’m missing some piece of the picture here, but her behavior with the Daily Stormer seems to put her beyond the pale.

An interview with Mrs Goldy covering this:

Personally i don’t believe she is some kind of secret nazi sympathizer. If we are going to say that she is because of 12 minutes on one podcast (done right after that car ramming thing, and all the police actions against the right wing protesters) when everyone is stirred up etc), then we might also say that Lauren Southern, Gavin Mcinnes, Brittany Pettibone and Stefan Molyneux are also in a similar category, as they have all continued to interview and support her since.
She was uninvited from a Free Speech event last year though (J Peterson, Gad Saad and others), but they do explain their standpoint quite specifically.

Saad and Peterson have also done individual videos on the matter, but i cannot include so many links all at once.
Interestingly, although the university did not ban her speech on the campus yesterday, it WAS shut down by someone tripping a fire alarm. What an easy way for the SJWs to win eh?

Often the police care more about maintaining order more than about maintaining free speech. So police, if not sufficiently trained, will violate laws protecting free speech, if such violations make it easier for them to maintain order.
