All over Europe, Israel is routinely vilified using false “Palestinian” victimhood narratives, while the “Palestinian” jihadis’ bloodlust and atrocities are ignored. This is the result.
“French consular employee charged in Gaza gun-running scheme,” Times of Israel, March 19, 2018:
An employee at the French consulate in Jerusalem was indicted on Monday for using a diplomatic vehicle to smuggle dozens of guns from Gaza to the West Bank.
In addition to Romain Franck, five residents of the West Bank and East Jerusalem were also charged. A total of nine suspects have been arrested in the case.
According to the indictment, Franck, 24, was aware of the reduced security checks for vehicles with diplomatic license plates, which he allegedly used to illegally transport weapons out of Gaza and into the West Bank.
Franck, who worked as a driver at the consulate, spoke through an interpreter to confirm his identity during the brief court appearance. Two French diplomats were at the court to monitor the proceedings.
He allegedly made five smuggling runs, bringing 70 pistols and two assault rifles to the West Bank from a Palestinian employee at the French Cultural Center in Gaza, Zuheir Abed Abdeen. A contact in the West Bank then sold the weapons to other arms dealers, investigators say.
Franck was already transporting various valuables in his car on behalf of Abdeen when in September 2017 the Palestinian propositioned him to join a gun-running ring run by Gaza resident Mahmad Jamil al-Haladi, the indictment said.
Franck later brought Mahmad Siad, an Israeli citizen employed at the French consulate in Jerusalem, into the operation and the two would allegedly travel together to deliver the weapons in the West Bank.
Prosecutors say Franck would usually take delivery of the guns from Aabdin and then place them in the trunk of his vehicle. At the border checks he would then falsely declare that all of the bags belonged to him or his passengers and that he was not carrying any weapons.
He was paid several thousand shekels for each delivery, depending on the number of guns he carried across the border.
The Shin Bet security agency said Franck was motivated by financial gain and that his superiors at the French consulate in Jerusalem were unaware of his actions. He was arrested February 15, but the case only became public on Sunday.
Details of the case were released hours ahead of the arraignment Monday, days before French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian was set to visit Israel.
Among the others indicted Monday were East Jerusalem residents Moufak al-Ajluni and Mohamed Katout….
Franck “has benefited and continues to enjoy the consular protection” provided to French nationals, he said.
According to the Le Monde daily, France won’t block prosecution, but Franck may serve his sentence in France and not Israel.
mortimer says
It is ironic that a man bearing two of the most hated European names (among jihadists) ‘roman’ and ‘frank’ (Romain Franck) should be caught helping jihadic-terrorists.
Throughout most of the 1400-year JIHADIC HISTORY, Muslims talked about attacking the ‘ROMANS’ or attacking the ‘FRANKS’ (a synonym for ‘Crusaders’).
ISIS identified France as the leading country of the ‘CRUSADERS’, because the citizens are called ‘FRANKS’.
The irony is surely not lost on the jihadists. They are no doubt relishing it.
Frank Anderson says
I hope the consequences for this participation in terrorist activities goes far beyond the employee who used his “diplomatic immunity” to help kill people to every person under the “diplomatic shield” of France in Israel. France should waive diplomatic immunity and cast him adrift to face Israeli courts and penalties. Even money if he serves time in France instead of Israel, he will get out early and spend whatever time he does very comfortably, while Israelis die. “Justice, Justice shall you pursue. . .” But not the French or the rest of the sold-out EU.
Michael says
There are no real consequences to these types of provocations or lawlesness. What should happen is the French consulate and its employees should be barred from all Israeli territories and in Israel proper subject to severe scrutiny. Sadly, it wont happen.
Ray Jarman says
This Romain Frank has no diplomatic status as this is only for a select few and staff personnel are usually excluded so I don’t understand how the French have a right to protect him in any way.
Frank Anderson says
Mr. Jarman, I will take your word on the diplomatic status of this person. I certainly have no foundation to argue. Do you remember before the 1967 war, Israel paid in advance for 64(?) Mirage jet fighters and several (6?) naval patrol craft to France? France refused to deliver and held the money. Israel sent people and took their ships; and used the Mirage plans to build their own jet, the Kafir, which was better than the Mirage and used the US J-79 engine. They sold several on the international market. France has been a dubious counterpart to Israel for at least 50 years, on top of the rampant collaboration with the Nazi’s in the Holocaust. I would be very reluctant to do any favors for France, given the choice. If Israel sees fit to take action, they have, I *believe*, good reasons. Another wait and see what happens. . .
Ray Jarman says
Mr. Anderson, I most certainly do remember the incidents and even as a very young person, I was outraged by the actions of the French. It was one of the most dishonest moves ever by a nation and I still do not understand their rationale as Israel was attacked and not the aggressor. I cannot say for sure but I believe their actions had in part to protect their import of oil from the Arab nations.
As to the point about the French and its adherence to the Vienna Convention of 1961 which would not provide diplomatic status for embassy/consulate employee staff viz. diplomatic personnel. There are also reciprocity agreements as to the number of personnel granted diplomatic status for a diplomatic mission and believe me, no one other than core diplomatic contingent would have status. In fact, I knew the secretary for a French Ambassador in Abuja and she told me that she had to pay for her personal property to be transported to Abuja. So the person we are discussing was certainly without diplomatic status and for the Israelis to grant his serving time in France is amazing. This is very seldom the case and if he had been granted dip status by the Israelis, he could not be prosecuted as stated in the above mentioned Convention.
Frank Anderson says
Sincere thanks for teaching me something. Most helpful with the many stories of abuse of diplomatic immunity that are heard.
LeftisruiningCanada says
I too will of course give way to your judgment Ray, but i will just add that i’ve known of men working within the diplomatic service of a certain country to get hold of diplomatic passports for their daughters to use for vacation purposes.
Perhaps that is not relevant to this case. It just made me wonder what other kinds of ‘special treatment’ go on in that world.
Kepha says
As a former US foreign service officer, I can assure you that all members of a diplomat’s family get diplomatic passports.
LeftisruiningCanada says
Answers that then. Thank you Kepha.
Ray Jarman says
LeftisrunningCanada, I haven’t seen that but even a dip passport does not provide diplomatic status. One must be accredited to the nation in which a diplomat is posted. While I was serving in the US Dept. of State, I used my dip passport when taking a leave to another country but during what we call home leave in the US between postings, I am was not permitted to travel to Canada using my diplomatic passport. I was required to use a civilian passport. Also, I am sure that your know how strict the Israeli government is about diplomatic status as are the French.
LeftisruiningCanada says
I see the difference now Ray, thanks.
It is interesting then that this employee is receiving such assistance then!
DHazard says
People who take bribes, knowing that the end result of their actions will murder, should be tried for murder, or at least accomplice to murder.
But the EU is full of accomplices to radical Islam who have justified, in their own minds, that Palestinian=Good and Israeli=Bad. They assist Islamists with their speech, protests and votes. They also make up the majority of EU politicians and media employees whose mutually agreed upon defense of everything Muslim ensures that more Muslims will die and more innocent EU citizens will be silenced and sometimes murdered.
LeftisruiningCanada says
That might not be the embassy for any local Christians to use if they are seeking escape to the West for whatever reason.
And if the one in Israel is that compromised, what must the ones in full islamic nations be like….
common sense says
There are no coincidences, thanks to the tireless efforts of real journalists and people that speak up we can see the overall pattern. This destruction of freedom of speech across Europe and the pillaging and rape of it’s women and culture is completely by design, there is zero doubt.
Crouch says
Don’t forget, when French agents bombed and sank the Rainbow Warrior in Auckland, (killing one), they were eventually sent to France to serve their sentences and were promptly released, and rewarded! The French are too nationalistic, (and antisemitic), to be trusted!
Baucent says
It’s not clear from the report that Franck has diplomatic status. It seems unlikely that he has, or he wouldn’t have been charged in an Israeli court. It could be he is simply a French national, which seems possible since his duty was only driving a vehicle. “consular protection” could simply mean the French are giving assistance and observing the proceedings. Either way it’s a major disgrace for the French to have an employee aiding terror activities.
Lavéritétriomphera says
A Likud’s spokesmen (Netanyahu’s party), publicly called for the closure of the French consulate, and the expulsion of the Consul-General.
Macron is more and more unpopular.
Frank Anderson says
Baucent, To me, the current French government leaders have no sense of shame to disgrace. Their willing or deliberately ignorant surrender to islam, along with rampant collaboration with enslaving “infidels” through hate speech rules shows no sign to me of praiseworthy behavior or inclination in that direction. They have loaded their entire government with anti-Jewish, anti-Israeli, pro-muslim people from top to bottom, including this “driver”. I predict that any who would dare differ with them would never be employed in government. Since France is socialist that probably includes most employment opportunities in government owned industries.
In many Jewish congregations the first prayer said at most services (The Candle Blessing) includes “. . .Keep us far from all shame, grief and anguish. . .”; but current French leaders obviously have not attended many Jewish services since actively aiding the Holocaust. I see no expression of remorse from France that I have from Germany over that event. Have I missed anything; or was there nothing to miss? There is no sense of shame in French leaders.
Lavéritétriomphera says
@Frank Anderson,
Bonjour,
Yes you have miss something, we have the largest Jewish community in Europe and we are not anti-Semitic people. The former socialist prime minister said France without Jews is not France https://www.timesofisrael.com/france-without-jews-is-not-france-french-pm-says-at-hyper-cacher/. Attacks against Jews are condemned by the government and the population (mostly Christian). Jews lived in this country since antiquity.
They have become full citizens since the revolution, their status has not changed since then, except under the Vichy government. The government of Petain was condemned for its anti-Semite policy after the liberation of France in August 1944, after four years of bitter occupation http://jewishweek.timesofisrael.com/president-macron-and-how-to-apologize-for-the-sins-of-the-past/.
Some Jews in France do not support Israeli politics.
I do not think Marine Le Pen is anti-Semite, her companion has Jewish ancestry.
Amitiés,
Frank Anderson says
I sincerely apologize for being too broad in my comment. I do think there is a substantial anti-Jewish, anti-Israel bias among French leaders starting with my own observation of the 1967 French confiscation of Israeli money for planes not delivered and boats/ships that had to be stolen by commandos to be used to protect Israel from a coming war on every front, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Iraq and Lebanon. I look at the way France votes at every opportunity against Israel at the UN and wonder. If the leaders do not reflect will of the national voters, what are the leaders doing in office? Is there not an ongoing of exodus of Jews from France in the face of the invasion by muslims?
Flooding the country with people who hate Jews, who have been taught to hate and kill Jews for 1400 years generates to me reason to doubt any sincere thoughts of local favor. I’m sorry that there are to me fair questions that would cause me to be very wary of being Jewish in France, or in thinking with any confidence in an alliance or trust relationship with French government. If French citizens understand the difference in view that Jesus was first a Jew, whatever else he was, and at least tolerate the Jewish idea that people are people, who are all children of the Father with a choice to accept that Fatherhood, and God is God, then the godless leaders who wrap themselves in evil need to find other work.
Until then based on all I have seen, read and know I would be extremely careful in any reliance on France, among many other unreliable countries. Silent majorities don’t make policy. I hope that you are correct and that I am in error. “The proof of the pudding. . .” How many Danish Jews were handed over to the Nazi’s in the Holocaust? How many French? With respect for your opinion.
Lavéritétriomphera says
Bonsoir Frank Anderson,
Make no mistake, members of french government are or have been Jewish, and Dominique Strauss-Kahn could have been president of the country. I could have voted for him but a scandal broke : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_v._Strauss-Kahn
French Jews do not want to be assimilated to Israelis and some do not like them. Those who leave France, leave their country and some return and some do so much sooner than they had wanted.
Islamists threaten everyone: Jews, Muslims and non-Muslims.
In France, many Muslims leave Islam and some convert to Christianity and even Judaism or become atheists.
Frank Anderson says
This is a time when I sincerely hope that my impressions are incorrect. I hope yours are better. I also understand a lot about diversity among Jews. “Get 3 Jews together and get at least 6 opinions.” “Israel is the only country with 6,000,000 Prime Ministers, only 1 of whom is in office at any given time.” I also understand that Jews can at some time not be the easiest people to get along with, even for other Jews. That has never stopped me from admiring Judaism and the wisdom of its teachings. Nor am a so blindly in support of Israel that I did not wish for an alternative location to the one that guarantees eternal conflict.
My adopted father was a Methodist. I’m not sure what distinguishes a Methodist from a Baptist, and have been content to not worry. His best local friend was a Jew. When my father died, Mr. Isaacson was the *only* person who would stop by every once in a while, knock on the door and ask, “Are you all right; do you need anything; can I do anything to help?” That left an impression. I want good things to happen for Jewish people. I don’t want them threatened, hurt, killed, enslaved, bombed or mutilated. What I know about France makes me uncomfortable and suspicious. I think I have reasons; but for your courtesy, I hope I am in error.
Michael says

Bonsoir Frank Anderson,
I am repulsed by Muslim anti-Sémitism, but I am Roman Catholic and I have often heard that Jews have been cursed since they killed Christ!
If Jesus was Jewish, Church fathers were Greek and they have been inspired by Greek philosophy.
If France is not safe, United States is not safe too.
Jews, homosexuals and apostates from the Islamic religion must be protected in the two countries. The islamists will not win.

Lav. . ., I just barely communicate in American English and have no human language skills in other languages. I have written in about a dozen different computer languages with some measure of skill and success. That is to say your chosen name is still out of my reach. That certainly does not reflect any intent for discourtesy or disrespect.
I am not sure “what” I am. I have a large spectrum of friends who practice many religions, including Judaism. I have spent years learning what I think is an understandable summary of the Jewish side of Jesus, here briefly: However Jesus was conceived, he grew up a brilliant scholar, practitioner and teacher of Jewish teaching. He preached a message to Jews of reform and repentance that called for examination of the 613 rules (Mitzvot) that are found by Maimonidies in the first 5 books of the Torah (Pentatuch). In fact some Jews consider him the first *well-known* Reform Jew, anticipating the Reform movement by about 1800 years. He also opposed as part of the Rabbinical movement, the ongoing corruption and collaboration of the priests with the Romans, threatening the control of the priests, high and otherwise, over the people, thereby threatening Roman control over everyone. Jews are the only group to fight the Romans, I believe, 3 times. Each fight was bloody killing hundreds of thousands of Jews; the last leading to the scattering of Jews. The trial of Jesus reported in the Bible is in a court of religious discussion, not criminal justice. Any trial of criminals under Jewish law demanded at least 1 vote to acquit. A unanimous verdict indicated a biased jury and was not accepted under Jewish law for a conviction as being the result of an unfair trial. The murder of Jesus was by Romans using Roman execution methods, who controlled everything. Jews had no authority over Romans. The very idea that a crowd of Jews could confess the murder of Jesus and condemn all future generations of Jews for his killing is absurd. Deuteronomy 24:16 says a father shall not be held for the sins of the son; nor shall the son be held for the sins of the father. The book Jews, God and History, by Rabbi Max L, Dimont gives a beautiful, well-written and easily read account of details in addition to my summary; and should correct any errors presented here. Jews and Christians share a goal of peace and a God of redemption, salvation and comfort.
As long as a god of evil is rampant in the world all are in danger. Muslims have killed many muslims, and always look to kill more for any excuse. Israel and all infidels could disappear today and the killing would continue. The God of Peace, who gave me life as one of His many children and has allowed me as steward to manage it for Him, will win. Sincere best wishes to you and all who seek our freedom and victory. “Nobody appreciates peace like the people who have had to fight for it: They know what is cost.”
Lavéritétriomphera says
Hi Frank Anderson,
English is not my language and I am afraid to make errors in spelling, grammar, syntax or usage, and to be misunderstood.
I have often heard that Jesus cursed Jews when he said : “you will be hated and persecuted until the end of time”, but l never read such a stated purpose in the Bible.
Jesus was condemned and crucified by the Romans, and he has not been unfortunately the only one in this case.
As I heard, during the conquest of Gaul (now modern France) by Julius Caesar in 58 BC, the Romans exterminated half of the population. When they conquered Carthage, the entire city was razed, they did the same thing to Jerusalem.
Christians blame Jews because they did nothing when Chistians were persecuted in the Roman Empire especially during the reign of Diocletian https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diocletianic_Persecution.
As you will know, Christians are still persecuted today.
Allah is the moon god (Baal) http://www.billionbibles.org/sharia/allah-moon-god.html, Arabs practiced human sacrifices. Muslims still do it, suicide bombings are human sacrifices for the glory of Allah.
Allah is the evil god, and as long as he is not defeated the world will not be at peace.

Lav. . ., I live in a glass house when it comes to all kinds of errors, including sticking or non-functioning keys. Our brains are powerful enough to read through the vast majority of errors to receive the intended message.
According to the author of Jews God and History, more or less 2 million Jews were killed by the Romans in the 3 (?) wars, and God only knows how many in between them. Christians blame Jews because that is what the Roman Empire taught since Constantine seized Christianity as his tool of social control. I have written several times about the famous German passion play at Oberammergau, with its outright distortions of everything Jewish. The Roman Empire feared and hated Jews, because they were the only group who resisted with every resource and at every opportunity. Romans could hardly admit to the murder of Jesus while making him into a god. So blaming the Jews served a dual purpose then and now. I understand from a Ph.D professor/Baptist minister, that a theological fight went on for a long time over the issue of Jesus’ divinity, and was solved by decree (see the topic Christology). Unlike many other religions, Jews do not worship any human, nor do they elevate any, no matter how revered into a deity. But Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, and who else think the best way to get a following is anoint someone into godhood.
My reconciliation of Judaism and Christianity hinges on the idea that the Love of the Lord exceeds all human understanding. I also see in the face of Jesus a smile of patience and understanding that forgives errors made in trying to follow his message. God has shown me in a very graphic experience that even when I question and rebel, He is still there and waiting patiently until, one way or another, I realize He is with me. He wants us to live in freedom and respect. That is one of the 2 lessons of Exodus. Always, Peace in the most comprehensive form imaginable be with you, and all who hope for peace.
Lavéritétriomphera says
Bonjour,
As they did in Gaulle, the Romans executed and crucified all their opponents.
They never condemned Judaism while they persecuted Christians.
In fact the persecution of Jews hit its first peak during the Crusades.
The pope asked the faithful Christians to fight infidels, and he was told that they were already there in Christian lands, and they were Jewish.
Of course persecution of minority is unfair. By defenition a war can not be holy.
Amitiés,
Frank Anderson says
Lav. . ., if memory serves me, the last war between Romans and Jews was about 133 AD/CE, also about the same time of the decree of divinity of Jesus. Also from memory in Jews God and History, approximately 850,000 Jews were killed and many more scattered just during that “last” war. *I think* as far as the Romans were concerned Jews were eliminated as a source for concern about the same time, while also becoming to this day “the evil other” to be used to describe a degenerate contrast with Roman objectives. Christianity, a revised form of Judaism, was becoming a challenge to Rome. And irony of irony, has the Roman Empire melded, become, “transitioned” (an overused word I despise) through Emperor Constantine into the Roman Catholic church which now supports the invasion and takeover by muslims? I have *many* *treasured and honored* Catholic friends. But there are still questions from history that deserve honest answers after thorough examination. Peace through truth; and peace with us.
Lavéritétriomphera says
Bonjour,
The Jewish diaspora had begun a long time before the fall of Jerusalem. The Emperor Vespasian could obviously not accept a rebellion in the empire, he suppressed a revolt in Judea/Palestine.
The Romans never condemned Judaism as a religion but they condemned Christianity, and they persecuted Christians.
The Catholic Church is the continuation of the Roman Empire. The pope does his job when he favors religions over politics, the president does his work by focusing on politics rather than religions.
Amitiés.
Frank Anderson says
Lav. . ., very true. The presence of Jews away from Israel is what prevented their extermination. Whether condemning the religion or not Romans killed a lot of Jews. Much to think about that remains unsettled and answered for over 2,000 years. I believe we agree that what happened then should not distract from our common hope of a God who teaches peace and liberty instead of a god who calls for murder and slavery. While I am not Jewish, being seemingly unacceptable in the community, I treasure Jewish friends and teaching. I pray for the day that all good people can reduce their conflicts to the goal of a new Exodus from all forms of bondage, self-imposed and external. Again and always Peace.

“Freedom is not free.”
“Nobody appreciates peace like those who have to fight for it: They know the price.”
“If not now, when? If not me, who?”
A great Jewish teaching is that there is something to learn everywhere, either by good or bad example. In accordance with that teaching, the people who strive to improve are pleasing in God’s eyes. “Justice, Justice, shall you pursue.” We will resist and prevail over this darkness, one candle at a time.
Lavéritétriomphera says
Bonsoir,
Thank you Frank Anderson for your support, but I fear that the attack in Trèbes where a cop gave his life and where thugs make fun of his sacrifice, is the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Frank Anderson says
Lav. . ., whatever language barriers exist, I believe we wholeheartedly agree in the freedom and liberty that do not exist under the death and slavery of islam. This is one camel whose back needed to be broken centuries ago. I think there has been a lot of brainwashing of the “masses” into letting the “chosen” do their thinking for them. (Blasphemy and apostasy) The ordinary people have been intellectually enslaved for a really long time. Once they are turned into sheep, the leaders have become intellectually lazy, projecting their imaginations upon others who have entirely different views of life and freedom.
Jews and Masons have rebelled against the restraints of “blasphemy” for centuries (even millennia?), one of the reasons Hitler and Himmler cursed them in the same breath. Religious authorities, starting with Constantine have used their power to stifle any thought that differed from their own. Their basic, universal and unchangeable proposition from time immemorial has been, “I’m brilliant. I have power. You are an idiot with no power. I will tell you what to think and kill, directly or indirectly, you if you don’t follow my dictates.”
I can think of a movie which illustrates this absurd level of “elite” control while evil surrounds the “city”, Priest, with Paul Bettany, one of the best actors I see as carrying meaningful messages and illustrations in film. Unlike Animal House where the nobody, know-nothing, ROTC cadet is crushed by a crowd while shouting, “Keep calm; All is well!” The ruling religious leaders denied the ongoing final assault going on outside the city as communities are being slaughtered. I can’t help comparing the current pope with the dictator in the movie.
Honest, free thought is vital to resisting and defeating mindless evil. I received 3 propositions the first time a visited a Jewish congregation:
1. Wisdom is its own authority-It does not depend on source, location or medium of communication.
2. Wisdom is all around us. Wherever wisdom is in the hands of humans there is also some measure of error and deception. The challenge is to hear the wisdom and put it to work.
3. Ask *every* question repeatedly. The truth has nothing to fear from questions. Each time the question is answered the truth will emerge clearer, sharper and brighter. We will know the whole truth only when we face God.
This is a terrifying collection of teachings for a leadership that thrives on ignorant followers.
Sorry about the camel; but it is time for it to be ended. Peace, liberty and all good things to all of us. God wants them for us.

Hi Frank Anderson,
There is no shortcut to Wisdom.
Islamic leaders have brainwashed Muslims to the point that some go totally and completely berserk. Only an elevation of consciousness of all humanity can overcome islamic totalitarism, communism, ie the beast.
I agree with your Jewish friends, but I can not fail to mention that some Jews say on the web, that Christians deserve what is happening to them, but I think these Jews are only cutting off the hand that feeds them.

Frank Anderson says
Lav. . ., what you write is true in my experience. I cannot comprehend people who exclude those who tell the truth because it makes them uncomfortable. I find in many groups the lessons taught/preached depart sharply from the daily practice. Another profound Jewish lesson is that there are no perfect people, pointing to all the truly “greats” in the Bible-each had some flaw along with the greatness of his life. After being called a Nazi at a Jewish bible study for questioning islam, it was time to end about 25 years of involvement. I am still a loyal supporter of the wisdom I found in Judaism and wish all that is good for Jews. But second-class status is not for me. Nor do I think such status is appropriate for anyone else. We are all God’s children who are free to make our choice of acceptance or rejection of His guidance and inspiration. Peace be with you and us.
Lavéritétriomphera says
Bonjour,
You’re absolutely correct when you say that we should be suspicious of people proclaiming themself superior to others as Tariq Ramadan did. The pope, the dalai lama are ordinary persons as we all are.
The idea of ‘thinking for oneself’ is the prime basis for all actions.
Islam means submission, and criminal organizations as mafia take advantage of the situation.

Lav. . , Thank you for a most pleasant exchange. I love the teaching that every good deed is automatically at least 3, for the person who receives it, for the person who does it, and for the Glory of the God who makes all things possible. Allowing me to think about these issues with you is a great reward which helps me keep aware of what needs to be solved, and work toward solutions. I believe that like the children of Israel who labored in slavery and misery for “400” years, God will show us the way to escape the tyranny and slavery islam has been inflicting for 1400. Exodus teaches 2 major lessons: No matter how well things start they can change; God does not want any of his Children to live under any form of slavery. God’s Children include *all*, not just Jews, who call upon Him as Father. Peace and Liberty for all of us.

Lav. . , I had the pleasure of attending several Taste of Judaism events the Rabbi conducted for people who wanted to know more. These events were advertised in the local newspaper and conducted to help people see for themselves what Judaism teaches. On almost every subject, with a great smile he would start his answer, “There is a whole spectrum of beliefs about. . .” In all my experience with Judaism, there are 2 major subjects of agreement generally present. One is that God is God and we are *all* His Children, with the choice to accept or reject His Fatherhood. We being not only Jews, but all who look to Him as Father. The other is that sin is not a reason for guilt and self-punishment. Such self abuse is another form of slavery that is not intended for us. We know our weaknesses and errors better than anyone else; and can turn that knowledge of our errors into an abusive punishment of guilt.
I find the spectrum of opinions view tremendously healthy, fulfilling the admonition to “Cherish your doubts, for doubt is the handmaiden of truth.. . .” The full meditation can be found at page 711 of the prayer book, Gates of Prayer, in use during the early 1990’s. I have the excerpt and if you wish will pass it along. As a person who strives for health, both mental and physical, I work at improving both. It would not offend me to be a candle who helps to light others in bringing light to a very dark and dangerous time. I think we are joined in that purpose. Peace and Hope be with us.

The Jews told me that they were God’s Chosen People. Did the rabbi tell you what is the purpose of Life? As Gauguin we ask ourselves this question at various stages in life, especially when we are experiencing difficult times, https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_nGr0L5UTo4.
In some places on Earth people do not care if they live or die, they no longer have the strength to ask questions and wait for the answers.
We must struggle for life and we must never stop our efforts (Buddha).

Lav. . ., the Jewish teaching regarding being chosen is not supposed to be one of arrogance, but of being a humble part of a covenant/agreement/contract to partner with God in carrying a message of salvation. Again, starting with the Rabbi’s answer in the Taste classes, there is a whole spectrum of opinion. Many see the purpose of life as both learning and sharing the message of God’s gift in trust of life itself. We do not own our lives. Similar to when we are allowed to use another person’s money for a specific purpose, God allows us to use our lives for His purposes. In the course of our lives showing thanks and respect in as many ways as humanly possible for the time and opportunity is certainly reasonable and appropriate.
I often ponder the question, in my lifelong quest for health, whether it is healthier to see myself as one of God’s children, or some accident. The former clearly implies to me many duties fairly included for being allowed to use this life and time. Recognizing those duties leads to their cheerful performance. God wants us to live always striving for health, joy and prosperity, that we are willing to share with others responsibly. That does not mean sharing with those who would kill us or usurp God’s intent. Any form of self-destructive behavior is inconsistent with God’s plan.
The Buddhist statement vividly illustrates the Jewish propositions that “Wisdom is all around us”, and that wisdom does not depend on sources. The very least among us can speak wisdom at some times, sometime purely by accident. God has the power to tell us what we need to know, even when we are not listening. The short illustration of my claim is that after 7 years of full bore, unrestrained challenge to religion, I believe God said, “Enough of this; I have things for you to do!” and led me to the only sermon in my life, other than the one I wrote for my adopted mother’s funeral, addressing the Parable of the Two Sons in Matthew. That was almost 50 years ago and I am still asking questions. But I believe we are never alone. Always, Peace be with us..

Hi Frank Anderson,
I appreciate our exchanges and I read and read again your comments. Americans (if your are american) do not think as french do, it’s confusing but rewarding.
All of us have to compare ideas if we want to see evolution of mankind thought. Muslims by banning freedom of thought blocked progress of their society.
Judaism is more than 3000 years old, Christianity is 2000 years old, and Islam1400 years old. Islam is too young, and Muslims need to grow up a little if they want to be credible. They condemn Christians who say that Jesus is the son of god, but they accept the rape of prepubescent girls ! And they do not take half measures as we all can see.
Amitiés,

Lav. . ., whatever else, and how little I am, I am most definitely a citizen of the US. I consider you a friend and look forward to future conversations with you. I believe we will see better days.
