Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

New York: Muslim gets 45 years for al-Qaeda bomb plot against US troops in Afghanistan

Mar 15, 2018 8:00 am By Christine Douglass-Williams

Muhanad Mahmoud al Farekh’s family pleaded on his behalf, saying that “he is a wonderful person, loving, caring, kind.”

Meanwhile, Federal Prosecutor Richard Tucker more accurately described al-Farekh during closing arguments: “This guy is for real and he is a bad guy….He is an honest-to-goodness al-Qaeda bad guy.” Al-Farekh is a zealous, murderous jihadi, from whom the public needs protection. It is good that his family’s pleas for leniency did not result in a light sentence.

Al-Farekh wrote that “violence — especially when it is inspired by religion — is foreign to everything I believe in.” But the federal prosecutor stated that al-Farekh was “unshakably committed” to violent jihad and should be sentenced to life in prison.”

Note that “American officials had initially debated whether to try to kill al Farekh in a drone strike, a step almost never taken against U.S. citizens. President Barack Obama’s administration ultimately decided to try for a capture and civilian prosecution instead.”

“‘Turned his back on America’: Former Winnipeg student sentenced to 45 years in al-Qaida bomb plot”, Postmedia News, March 13, 2018:

Former University of Manitoba student Muhanad Mahmoud al Farekh, convicted by a jury last September of conspiring to kill American soldiers in a bomb plot, tried to convince a federal judge in Brooklyn, N.Y., Tuesday that he was now opposed to violence.

“Violence — especially when it is inspired by religion — is foreign to everything I believe in,” he wrote in a letter read aloud by his lawyer.

But U.S. federal prosecutor Richard Tucker told the court that al Farekh, 32, a U.S. citizen born in Houston, Texas, was “unshakably committed” to violent jihad and should be sentenced to life in prison, Reuters reported.

Faced with these competing arguments, U.S. District Court Judge Brian Cogan handed down a sentence of 45 years, saying that while al Farekh did not appear to have fully accepted responsibility, neither was he “totally devoid of humanity.”

Following the court hearing, Richard Donoghue, the U.S. attorney for the eastern district of New York, said in a statement that al Farekh had “turned his back on America by joining al-Qaida and trying to kill American soldiers in a bomb attack on a U.S. military base in Afghanistan.”

“This case demonstrates that we will do everything in our power to ensure that those who seek to harm our country and our armed forces will be brought to justice.”

David Ruhnke, Al Farekh’s lawyer, said he intended to file an appeal in a case that drew notoriety, in part, because of reports that American officials had initially debated whether to try to kill al Farekh in a drone strike, a step almost never taken against U.S. citizens.

President Barack Obama’s administration ultimately decided to try for a capture and civilian prosecution instead….

Violence is not inspired by “religion.” It’s inspired by ISLAM. By the Quran, a Jihad war manual.

In addition, that’s got to be the most hideous beard in history.

Judge said “neither was he devoid of humanity” wal I sure don’t see him being humane in plotting to murder some GI’s.
I’m glad the judge gave him the 45 years it in it wasn’t a sentence without the possibility of parole…He will fake it and be out in a few of the 45….There again the tax payers will shelter, clothe, feed and medicate this scumbag…….What good would he ever be to society…why should he even live, and just look at the innocents his so called religion has murdered and degraded. Maybe he was not responsible himself but he praised the cult which did.

“wasn’t a sentence without the possibility of parole…He will fake it and be out in a few of the 45….”

Federal prison sentences don’t have the option of parole. Farekh will serve 85% of his sentence with good behavior.

Yes–this is Islam, not “religion” in some generic sense.

And the only ways that this vicious Jihadist is not devoid of humanity is that he shares humanoid DNA with decent people. He shares nothing with them in the moral sense, though.

A “bad guy”. Bad guys are men who don’t do their best to provide for their families, Who don’t discipline their children, who don’t pick up after themselves and don’t do their share of housework. Bad girls are women who nag men who aren’t bad guys.

What happened to the word “evil”. People who kill what God has created are evil. It seems that “evil” has gone the way of “fewer”. Let’s bring both of those words back.

45 years is a light sentence. This evil guy should have faced a firing squad. General deterrence works.

The bigger the wild beard, the more devout and violent the jihadi? Are we looking at the next rage in Chia Pets?

He didn’t mean nuthin’ by trying to kill American soldiers. That 7500 pound bomb he and his jihad buddies put together was just fireworks to pass time in a boring day. Fortunately it got mired in crater made by the first bomb of two. In his ‘mental illness’ he thought he was in a video game. He’s just a non-violent sweet nature boy, just ask the family and his Imam.(sarc)

The jihadi himself to judge: “I do understand how Muslims could be drawn into jihad and violence.” Repentant?

We understand why a Muslim bomber could get 45 years in prison. People were killed and maimed by the first bomb.

How touching… quote: “Muhanad Mahmoud al Farekh’s family pleaded on his behalf, saying that “he is a wonderful person, loving, caring, kind.”

However, Muhanad Mahmoud al Farekh believes in the MASTER FAITH THEORY and he believes in AL WALAA WAL BARAA, an ESSENTIAL TEACHING (usul ud-deen) in Islam.

AL WALAA WAL BARAA is essentially ISLAMIC APARTHEID. All Muslims are required to HATE dirty kafirs ‘for the sake of Allah’ or they will not be admitted to Islam’s pornographic paradise. Absurd, but that is the normative Islam that motivates Muhanad Mahmoud al Farekh to wish to kill dirty kafirs.

Mmhmm. Sure he is. I think we just found a few more members of his terror cell. Deport every single person in America who is related to him, no matter how remotely and by both blood and marriage.

He’ll rot in jail til he dies, so he won’t cause any more harm. But those family members…. They know, they ALWAYS know. They are complicit.

So Barack Obama rejected killing this treasonous bas***d with a drone. Al Farekh was a member of al Qaeda and at war with the U.S. Why was he not tried in a military court? I think mainly because Obama is, at heart, a Muslim. He was totally immersed in Islam from infancy;until the age of seven – the most important formative years for any child.. All his paternal relatives are Muslim. Because of Obama we now have to feed and house this worthless SOB for 45 years. Well maybe not that long. He will probably be paroled at the earliest opportunity.

Glad this vicious Jihadist got a good, long sentence.
