DRAMATIC footage shows FSB raids on a suspected Russian terror group just two-and-a-half months before the start of the World Cup.
The large “sleeper cell” was broken up by Vladimir Putin’s security service in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk.
FSB agents smashed their way through doors and windows and nabbed alleged terrorists moments before they caught a crowded flight.
There was no immediate information on whether attacks were planned on the passenger flight or if they were for the during the footie tournament.
The FSB has stated that terrorism is the number one threat to the FIFA World Cup which opens on 14 June.
The secretive group called themselves the “Krasnoyarsk jamaat” and the FSB alleged it had “links to international terrorist organisations”, and possibly ISIS.
Some 16 addresses were searched and nine alleged jihadists were detained – three organisers and six cell members.
Manuals on manufacturing explosive devices and banned religious literature was seized, according to the FSB.
The suspects are believed to have received training in unidentified foreign countries.
“Strict secrecy measures were employed in the unit,” it was reported.
The group didn’t use social media to talk to each other and used “non-verbal means of communication in public places”, according to FSB sources.
The target of their alleged future strikes were Krasnoyarsk and other unidentified places….
