Jimmy Carter’s unswerving and consistent hatred for Israel paved the way for this.
“Carter Center Sued for Providing Support to Terrorists, Defrauding Taxpayers,” by Adam Kredo, Washington Free Beacon, April 23, 2018:
The Trump administration is seeking the dismissal of a suit alleging the nonprofit helmed by former president Jimmy Carter has used taxpayer funding to provide material support to international terrorist groups, including Hamas.
The Zionist Advocacy Center, which filed the recently unsealed suit in 2015, alleges the Carter Center received more than $30 million in taxpayer grants while violating federal statutes barring it from using the cash to provide material support to terror groups.
The plaintiffs maintain the Carter Center has violated the law by hosting designated terrorists at is facilities, as well as by providing various forms of assistance to the Palestinian terror group Hamas and other known terror entities, according to recently unsealed court documents.
The Department of Justice surprised pro-Israel insiders recently when it moved to have the case dismissed on the grounds it is too expensive to prosecute, according to court filings the administration had requested remain secret….

*A lot more* explanation is needed to understand what is going on. Was the suit filed by the US government. . .*under the Obama administration*. . .*against a Democrat foundation*. . .*which caters to a muslim group determined to murder every Jew in the world*. . .? What does the DOJ have to do with the suit? Or was the suit filed by a private party, and DOJ intervened under the “qui tam” rules that the government can take over a privately filed suit to recover fraudulently or illegally handled federal money; and then seek to kill the suit because it is too expensive? Seems to me if it is too expensive for DOJ, it (the federal government) should withdraw and allow the private plaintiff to continue the suit and claim the fees, costs, expenses and reward (which can be a major portion of the amount recovered).
This makes the Black Panthers in Philadelphia election fraud case from election day 2008 that was dropped by the Obama administration after the inauguration for lack of prosecutorial interest look like a joke instead of a travesty. Thirty million dollars in the hands of Hamas can kill a lot of Jews; and muslims in the process. More detail is needed please.

Shameful that Carter would do this and shameful that our Government wants to stop the prosecution. I say this case could set a president to open the doors to nail other crooked politicians to the jail cell wall- like Hillary for instance.

I never liked Carter.
No one should be FUNDING violent hate mongering terrorists.
If they do, it’s because they LIKE violence and terror and hate.
Just like when so called feminists support FGM/sharia/islamofascism you HAVE to ask..do they LIKE that sh!t?
If they didn’t, they wouldn’t defend and promote it. Creepy, isn’t it?

Jimmy Carter was surely one of the most naïve and Pollyannish of all US presidents. Obama was number two in naivety regarding Islamic supremacism.
Both men deny that Islam is a world-conquest cult of supremacism.
Frank Anderson says
Wellington and Mortimer, I agree with both of you. Please let me add this detail from living through both administrations. Carter did 2 things which deserve appreciation: He ordered the Navy to rescue the Vietnam boat people, saving more or less a hundred thousand lives from drowning or Communist murder; and he ordered deployment of the cruise missile, which rendered hundreds of billions of dollars worth of Soviet air defenses useless and set the stage for bankruptcy. Other than that every decision he made weakened the US, especially the fruitless stand that the US become the only country not to reprocess nuclear fuel, making long-term nuclear waste disposal at least 10 times more of a problem than it could have been. I cannot find a single decision made by the BHO administration that strengthens the United States. Both have done everything to strengthen and advance the muslim conquest and sell out Jews, Christians and other infidels at every opportunity.
According to some reports Communists killed approximately 2 Million Vietnamese and 1 Million Cambodians after the US exit and betrayal of the commitments to defend South Vietnam by the Democrat controlled Congress during the Ford administration. Everyone should remember how much a Democrat commitment means after that: Look at the promise made by WJC to Ukraine to protect its territory in exchange for giving up thousands of Soviet nuclear weapons, and how well that promise has been performed. Is Israel listening?
Wellington says
Thanks for your reply here, Frank. Much appreciated.
My God, why by now has the world in its entirety not figured out what a deficient person like myself figured out long ago, to wit, that if a country has four things: 1) democracy (the worst form of government, a la Churchill, with the exception of all other forms of government); 2) capitalism (the only economic system that produces wealth); 3) a decent legal system like Roman law or Common law (Sharia of course doesn’t count here); and 4) a proper moral ethic like the Judeo-Christian one or the Aristotelian one (once again Islam is a complete loser here), then that polity will “work.” Not perfectly but it WILL work.
Ain’t rocket science here. Far from it. And yet it eludes so many people, including many who long ago should have learned better by now but haven’t.

Famous quote (origin unknown to me)
“A man who knows and knows not that he knows is asleep; awaken him.
A man who knows not and knows that he knows not is ignorant; help him learn.
A man who knows and knows that he knows is wise; follow him.
A man who knows not and knows not that he knows not is a fool: RUN from him.”
It seems from the time, a year or so, that I have spent in the company of JW that many of us know at least to some extent. Some know a whole lot more than others. I know that a lot of writers know more details of islam than I. But most seem to share a goal to understand better and help make what we know more understandable to those who don’t know the evil we face this minute pretty well everywhere we look. I believe and hope that we can discover better ways to get people out of denial and into our side of life, liberty and opportunity.

Carter, through his unbelievably naive goofiness, can be credited with creating the present Iranian regime. He allowed the ‘ayatollah’ to return from France to Iran. He believed the ‘ayatollah’s’ assurances of benevolent intentions because he saw the ‘ayatollah’ as “a religious man.”

Now I wonder if the charitable work he did, that made him so respected was only a cover-up to throw the scent off the track. Isn’t it sad to think this about a former president of the greatest country in the world.
