Robert Spencer video: Holy Cross teaches Christian students to be ashamed of defending Christianity

Apr 22, 2018 3:50 pm By Robert Spencer

In this new video, I discuss the recent decision of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts to drop its Crusader mascot so as to avoid “Islamophobia.”

    …………………

Yes–disgusting. And, grimly, all too common.

I have had reason, gravenimage, to pass through Worcester, Massachusetts innumerable times. The Holy Cross campus itself, built on a hill, has several wonderful and memorable buildings, a very beautiful campus indeed.

Thus, I am chagrined, for experiential reasons as well as abstract ones, that the ignorant cowards now running Holy Cross have stooped to that lowest of low levels, i.e., political correctness and multiculturalism—and all in the “cause” of not offending Muslims. Indeed, I think that the ignorant cowards now in charge of Holy Cross (at the least ignorant, but almost certainly cowards too) should consider that the very name of their college is an insult to Muslims since, right in Sura 4 of the Koran, it is clearly denied that Jesus (Isa) was not crucified, that Jesus did not die on the cross, never mind that Jesus is coming back at the end of the world, per Muslimthink, to throw all Christians into Hell for deifying Him. So, time is way overdue for those now running Holy Cross to change the name of the entire college to that of “Holy Something or Other.”

Can’t offend Muslims, now can we? Today, get rid of the Crusader mascot (already done). Tomorrow, get rid of the name of the entire college. Oh yeah, the Age of Nonsense marches on. And ALL Holy Cross Alumni who continue to contribute to their alma mater should know full well, verily and so on, that they are participating in their own small way to the demise of Western Civilization.

      No quarter for them. None.

Surely you guys miust know that Holy Cross is run by none other than Jesuits, which is what this pathetic pope is.. Jesuits have claimed for sometime, that ‘we don’t really believe all the bullsht’. Parents who pay for this education should run to nearest shrink. In addition as these weak men claim there is no God, then what the H are they doing running a Catholic university. Ate they that far gone, that they don’t see their drooling imbecility?

Jesus died on the cross for your and my sins you are showing your students that the cross means nothing.
May I suggest a new name for your college…..CROSSOVER
because you are actually crossing over to what Islam wants you to do.

They need to be ashamed of what THEY are just now defending and teaching at ‘Holy Cross’, against Christianity!

Christians are to be PROUD of defending Christianity!
It is the way of salvation and Jesus is the only path to heaven.

I know that the hatred towards us as Christians will escalate, as it has been doing. This is a sign of the end times. I can never sugar coat it and say it will all ‘go away,’ because it will only get worse. The best I can say is that you all need (or we) to prepare for this.

How to prepare? Go hiding in a cave? No.
But by all means, NEVER cave to them.
Stand your ground, defend the faith, no matter what.
Don’t back down or budge one inch!
It takes sacrifice, I know myself.
But there is no other way, that is our noble calling.
Don’t cower and retreat or that will bring shame upon the Lord.
He called us to be HIS witnesses.

Again, I’m not condoning everything that happened during the crusades, but I do condone the self defense that was called for, just as against the nazi’s, or evil will prosper, invade, and take over.
Sadly, most nowadays won’t even utter a whisper in response to such slanderous insults!
Like mice, they are all too afraid and go scampering under the beds.

I totally agree. And it’s not that there aren’t shameful things, but… that’s not the issue. The pretense of the college is to effect shame at the urge of christianity to defend itself, which as Robert demonstrates was a very valid series of events and actions compared to the Islamic ones who indeed were are and will be the crusaders in every sense of that word.
Mind you, as a Jew, I am part of those who did suffer rather greatly during those times and it was no small affair what the christian crusaders wrought upon jews. And yet- in terms of western history, indeed, in terms of all the levels of looking at what happened, the Christian world indeed had to and needed to defend itself as it most certainly needs too and shoud today. It needs to do this for itself, and for all of western civiliation and to enlarge it’s ability to see what good it brought and can bring.

mgoldberg makes exactly the right point: self-defense is in NO WAY immoral. The Crusaders were often very ignorant men, but many of them were much nobler and better informed.

The Crusades went on for about 200 years and successfully blunted the Muslim attacks until the Ottoman Empire successfully invaded Europe with the help of the treacherous Venetians who made deals with the Ottomans and betrayed the Balkan and Anatolian Christians.

The Crusaders were mostly political warriors working for their kings, rather than religious warriors working directly for the pope. Often there was little or no control of them… they were not professional soldiers… they were amateurs.

The Crusades bought Europe a few hundred years of peace from Muslim invasions. Then it all started again when the Ottomans expanded into East Europe.

When Islam finds another charismatic leader like Osama bin Laden, large scale attacks will begin again. It will have to come from the Sunnite side, since the Shi’ites will be stopped by the Sunnis and exterminated.

Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts to drop its Crusader mascot

Robert Spencer is doing what every person should do.

“14. (12) To recoil before an enemy, or to keep silence when from all sides such clamors are raised against truth, is the part of a man either devoid of character or who entertains doubt as to the truth of what he professes to believe. In both cases such mode of behaving is base and is insulting to God, and both are incompatible with the salvation of mankind. This kind of conduct is profitable only to the enemies of the faith, for nothing emboldens the wicked so greatly as the lack of courage on the part of the good.”

God love you, Robert Spencer!! Thank you especially for your remark “ostensibly Catholic” to describe a university which has turned against its own faith, as another “Catholic university covered all crucifixes when Obama visited. The most disturbing thing about your report, however, is how the University – and many so-called “Catholics” – are saying the Crusades and Cruaders are not about fighting, but about other moral matters. In this, they sound just like the Muslims describing Jihad. The difference is the Muslims are aching to fight and so-called “Christians” are afraid to so much as make their would-be assassins and rapists even slightly upset. In some European nations, it is now a crime to report Muslim atrocities. Thank you for all you do. I wish you could clone yourself a thousand times.

THE CRUSADES IN CONTEXT, by Dr. Paul Stenhouse, 2007,

Muhammad died in Medina on June 8, 632 AD. The first of the eight Crusades to free the Holy Places in Palestine from Muslim control, and offer safe passage to the Holy Land for Christian pilgrims, was called only in 1095. At the risk of sounding pedantic, the period in question is not ‘five centuries,’ but four-hundred and sixty-three years; and those years, we contend, were not characterized by ‘peaceful coexistence’.

    Islam’s attack on Christianity

For the Christian states bordering the Mediterranean, it was a four-hundred and sixty-three year period of regular, disorganized [and occasionally organized] bloody incursions by Muslim mainly Arab and Berber land and sea forces. These came intent on booty – gold, silver, precious stones and slaves – on destroying churches, convents and shrines of the ‘infidels,’ and on the spread of politico-religious Islam throughout Europe from their bases in the Mediterranean and the Adriatic.

Dear Diane: The four hundred and sixty-three year period was also used by the muslims for other things. The Arabs and Berbers you mention were not originally Muslim. They were converted in battle and given the choice to accept Mohammed or die. Perhaps the greatest mind in the history of Christianity, St. Augustine, was a pre-jihad Berber. That is how effectively the plague of Islam can wipe out everything before it, to the point their history begins with Islam, just as ours used to be B.C. and A.D., based on Christ – Terms the atheistic West has managed to obliterate. Thousands of years ago, all Greece was debating how Philip of Macedon had managed to conquer all their countries. One man summed it up in four words: “Greece talked; Philip acted.” We must learn from this.

Thank you, Graven Image!!! As you know, the protestant nations never lifted a hand against Islam. It was Catholics alone who stopped the Islamic hoards at the Gates of Vienna, just as it was Catholics alone who overcame them at the Battle of Lepanto. The protestants refused to become involved in these and other battles for the survival of Christianity. As for the centuries-long reconquest of Christian Spain and halting the initial Islamic invasion of Europe by Charles the Hammer in France, protestantism had not yet existed: and would not, had it not been for Catholic arms holding back the Red Sea of Islamic bloodshed which would have otherwise wiped out Christianity forever. This is why I always try to persuade people to do the research on history. The early church was a totally different organism before the Catholic characteristics arose. There are many books that can be read on the matter. Instead of merely taking things for granted for whatever reasons (that’s what you were told, that’s how you were raised, etc.), do the research. After all, it is the same with muslims. They are born into that system and if they never question it, they never see through it. When Constantine came on the church scene at 314 AD, he had political ambitions and wanted to unite the empire. The church was infiltrated and he was the first actual ‘pope.’ He brought in all sorts of pagan traditions and practices from surrounding religions to win the favor of all, make ‘everyone happy.’ This is a long list, but even the papal hats come from this (the fish god dagon wore such a hat in the Babylonian religion). Google ‘pope hat, fish’ and see for yourself, that is just one of many examples. Anyway, his goal was control and unity and power. He did not actually get baptized until his deathbed and that event looks rather suspect as well. Anyway, corruption took root and things got worse. The vulgate (Catholic Bible) has also been affected. Of course many don’t know, but they don’t seek either. Don’t take anyone’s word for it, YOU must seek it out.

Get a nice King James Version Bible and study it, pray, open your heart to God and turn to Jesus.
He is the middle man, others will only get in the way. False conversions are a trap from the devil.
YOU must give your heart to Jesus, no one else can do it for you! (and babies are okay anyway, Jesus said this many times).
I know, people get angry but the truth must be told. Don’t substitute ‘religion, ritual, and tradition’ for a personal relationship with the Risen and Living Savior Jesus Christ!

Lydia: You seem intent upon denigrating Roman Catholicism whenever you get the chance. Don’t you understand, no, I guess you don’t, that you’re part of the overall “ignorance quotient” that prevails in our time?

Quit it, will ya,’ with your uninformed rants against Catholicism. In the fight against what Islam intends for us all, whether Jews, ALL Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, agnostics, atheists, Sikhs, Taoists, et al., we need to build as large of a coalition as possible. You’re anti-Catholic rants aren’t helping. Yes, in your own “special” way you are a hindrance to fighting Islam and not an ally.

Just to be clear, King James was hardly a Christian Person. He really wanted to get rid of the Geneva Bible because he thought the study notes were seditious towards the Monarchy. It took a lot of years and persecution for the KJV to supersede the Geneva Bible. KJV plagiarized a lot of work by earlier reformers.

As a Jew I can disagree with the Christian belief system and yet, as an inheritor of western civilization, I
think that the end result of the Judeo-Christian world, is the sense of values, and standards which act like a ‘high bar’, for high jumpers. We are all expected to reach above to those standards and values- yes, we fail as individuals, relgions, nations, but the net result has been a growth of the culture of western civ that has benefited the planet, far far more than the destructions, failures that have also been birthed. In fact that standard for behavior- let’s call it the result of the 10 commandments to make it simple, spread across all the other religions-all of them.

I’d take Leo XIII over Francis I in a heartbeat, Malcolm. Leo was a pretty shrewd guy. He smoothed things over with Bismarck, in general avoided the kind of unnecessary controversies his predecessor, Pius IX, engaged in, recognized that democracy and Catholicism need not be at odds with one another, and saw that Darwinian evolutionary theory need not be opposed and was just one more way of testifying to the magnificence and complexity of a Supreme Being (besides, Thomas Aquinas as far back as the 13th century warned against treating the Bible as a scientific treatise, something certain fundamentalist Protestants have yet to learn). Yep, Leo was a damn good pontifex maximus, though (I think understandably) he stayed a “prisoner in the Vatican” because of the way the modern state of Italy had taken the Papal States.

Hope you are doing well. Take care, pal.

Catholics are not a breed unto themselves, we have diverse secular political beliefs that are particular internationally, nationally, provincially, locally, or in the smallest sense of society, the family.

These are the members of the Church so what secular society is in itself is reflected in our members to various degrees.

There is freedom of thought in these matters. There is no freedom of thought to what Jesus taught or did, that has been faithfully been passed on through the magisterium of the Church.

Bishops dealing with local issues have the authority to protect their flock, at time they err and are vulnerable to there own sense of authority or a narcissistic form of behavior possibly other weakness. Nothing different to secular society. Most priest belong to ecumenical a group in there locality. They try to smooth relations and work at a unified position for the local society at large.

It is at the local ecumenical meetings where the issues arise, The protestant groups generally and the Catholic representative speak on cooperation, if say the imams strategist form a myth: of that local mosque been defaced and their members harassed.
Then call on on the the ecumenical group to condemn these actions in all innocents they fall for this trap time and again.

It will be reported that the Catholics and Protestant priest and ministers condemn Islamic phobia attacks. The bishops follow the information of the priest,

So when a speaker who is considered hateful by the imams, they will be sure to contact the priest and bishop of that area and complain. The trap is then set.

This is the strategy employed in every diocese around the world and the naive fall for it least they get a bad press, which will happen. In the next couple of hours will be having a meeting with my local priest, will bring this to the fore as he has fell into this trap.

By the way your last sentence was uncouth ed, you need to grow up, you can get your point across without it. You shame yourself and your family.

Of course, all too often they are the former–certainly when it comes to ungrateful Muslims.

The Catholic Church is evil, they entertain devils and bow to the whim of an evil devil cult called a religion, while at the same same time chastising Christians for self defense, and defense of Judeo-Christian heritage that has brought the world great scientific advances in every sphere of human endeavor. The Islamic Muslim world revels in slavery, war, persecution of non Muslims, pedophilia, child marriage, honor killings, homosexuality, discrimination, bestiality, and word domination. The catholic church is a mere tool for the devil.

Don’t like it ? Go elsewhere. They weren’t faced to come here and if they think it’s Islamophobic then their presence is incompatible with living in England. The British flag, known as the Union flag, incorporates the English flag within it.

I have had real problems with Christian? Leaders for some time and the liberal and sometimes conservative stupidity is not confined to one denomination or creed. I have sort of given up on the whole church thing. It seems that these churches are pro totalitarian government and anti Western civilization. The support for the Muslims is just the icing on the cake. I consider the Leftists to actually be more of a threat than the Muslims. The Muslim immigration is really a product of the Leftists.

WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE to put religions down which are not their own? In my opinion everybody can believe what they want and in whom. But as long as religion kills and rapes and stone and flogging, etc. then it becomes a different matter, because religion has to be joyful and peaceful.
I learn of every religion and take out the things that are beautiful to me, and so I have my own religion, but a peaceful one and one with compassion and empathy.. And a lot I do not believe at all from every religion, but to me that is ok. Everybody is free to believe what they want, when it is all becoming hateful and about killing then it gets dangerous and when it becomes political, even more dangerous. And if you want to force your beliefs on somebody else, then you took the wrong way.
YOU HAVE TO THINK FOR YOURSELF IN EVERY RELIGION. If catholics believe the pope is God on earth, that’s fine, I don’t, if Jews don’t believe that Christ was and is not the Messiah, that is fine by me too, but as long you do not push your religion on somebody who thinks different, it is ok, but with Islam it is a different story and it is a different story with all religions who are so violent and commit the most horrible atrocities. That for me is the end of that religion, and in Islam, there is only violence.
And Islam is already crumbling from within, but be not ignorant and think, that Islamic people have a lower EQ, they are the masters of deceit and lying and only have one thing in mind and that is to destroy non believers in Islam and the Jews. And there is a message for you Ibrahim. You will NEVER SUCCEED in this. NEVER EVER !
We all are people on this earth and we are all humans (if you can still call us humans) We, humans have behaved for millions of years like Barbarians, worse than animals and it is time to change that, because that time is coming and is already here, but you don’t see that, we finally passed the Equinox after trying it for 4 times 26.000 years and now finally for the 5th time, it is all going to change, because there is only One God for all of us and He threw in the wild card, but before all old systems have to go and we are moving to a new earth, the old systems ar crumbling and the illuminati, cabal and Elite will fight this tooth and nail to stop it, but you can’t hide and it might cost some years, but it will happen, and then you will get the choice, to say it bluntly, YOU EITHER SHAPE UP AND MAKE YOUR CHOICE, AND when you make the choice to continue the same way, you will be separated from the rest of humanity to continue the same way and the ones who want a better world will continue on a much better earth without the Barbaric, there will be food and everything for everybody, Big companies can not do everything to make a fast buck. Medicines will not be or hardly necessary any more, and everything will be transparant, you can not lie anymore as the other person you lie to will know it immediately.
God is in all of us and that is called your Higher Self where you can communicate with.
But You believe it or not, that does not make any difference to me or the Universe, you will always have your free will, but God (the Creator) will always be there and like He said, I will never let the work of my hands go, I think that came out of the bible, something like that, and I know He will not, and how I know this for sure, that is another story. God bless you all.

What happened to Universities in the USA and elsewhere? Are you the future generation of the human race? You are as coward as your governments.
In Western countries there is no place for violent religions and religions who feel superior to people of different religions and for religions who only allow their religion in a country they decided to come to and live of the taxpayers money of that country.

They really need to change their name at this stage if that is the case, from the college of the Holy Cross..
    to something more appropriate:-

the College of the Whited Sepulchres

They may not get even the reference.Much of what is taught in “catholic” schools these days appears to be questionable:And given that the current “pope” is an open promoter of heresy and apostasy,it comes as no surprise to see such Christ-betraying dhimmitude.

I have Tradionalist catholics in my family who have been disgusted at the false, uncatholic Gospel-rejecting teachings emanating from this political “pope” francis:but that is all the more reason if you are catholic to keep(yes,KEEP) your catholic belief ..but do not rely on francis or the RCC administrators or many of the senior church hierarchy or catholic priests to speak the truth. If you are a catholic,it is not as if you have not received advanced warning both in scripture and catholic prophecy{Fatima 1917 etc} about such betrayals and these times! The challenge is to KEEP your faith in spite of such betrayals.

Here is some visual “knight imagery” for Fr Burroughs to read..
(I trust it will not offend :will the father wish to deny or lessen the violent imagery of the crucifixion too?So many catholic priests have NO realistic concept of the message of the cross!)

    {WARNING;the following scripture contains “visual knight imagery”}

EPHESIANS chpt 6 v 10-20;”The whole armor of God”

“So put on God’s armor now! Then when the evil day comes, you will be able to resist the enemy’s attacks,
and after fighting to the end,you will still hold your ground!”

Is this a bit too much for the sensitive, blind, clergy to deal with?

What must they think about the visual imagery of David and goliath in 1 Samuel 17 v 41-51?

“And so,without a sword,David defeated and killed goliath with a catapult and a stone!
He ran to him, stood over him and {CENSORED}”*

    {By the way,wearing a collar or being a priest (or simply being a catholic) is no guarantee of salvation:it’s a shame so many catholic clergymen don’t realize that.In fact the higher up they go,the greater will be the judgement against them for FAILING to preach the Gospel.”pope” francis and his cronies in the heretical Vatican which is busy promoting apostasy amongst catholics(as predicted in Fatima 1917 and elsewhere)will be held liable for causing such a loss of faith}

*”took goliath’s sword out of its sheath, and cut off his head and killed him”

I mean it is not as if the giant goliath was innocent….But that’s what he got for picking a fight with a little Jewish boy.

David said( to goliath)”You are coming against me with sword, spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the Israelite armies..”
    1 Samuel 17 v 45

This “visual knight imagery” usefully explains why 1.the God of Israel can never be defeated,2 the Enemies of Israel cannot win and 3 God always has the last laugh:I mean goliath the philistine “prayed” to his god and David prayed to the Real Deal ..and you see how badly it went for goliath.
That, incidentally, is something Jews and people living in Israel today need to remember when confronted by Iran etc

which side is the God of Israel on?
