The latest news about Tariq Ramadan, one of the world’s “foremost intellects,” “one of the most renowned of Islamic scholars,” named by TIME in 2004 as “one of the 100 most influential people in the world today,” comes from Switzerland. It’s not about the four underage pupils he taught in a Geneva high school in the 1970s and 1980s, managing to get three of the four, aged 15 to 18, to sleep with him; the youngest, aged 14, wise beyond her years, was the only one not to succumb to his oily charms. No, this time it is a Swiss woman, a convert to Islam like two of his French victims, who is accusing him of rape. She is now 45, making her 35 when she was raped by Ramadan in 2008. I know what you’re thinking — doesn’t Ramadan deserve a little credit from the Swiss, say a month off from a 20-year sentence, for this time having picked on a grownup instead of another teenage genevoise?
Her lawyer says that the criminal complaint may amount to “rape, with aggravated [‘aggravating’] circumstances.” The “aggravating circumstances” can be many things. They can be the extreme physical violence, and threats to harm her children, that Ramadan inflicted on Henda Ayari, as she described in her book J’ai choisi d’être libre (I Chose To Be Free), where — not yet emboldened by the #MeToo movement — she used the alias “Zoubeyr” for Ramadan:
“This man, Zoubeyr, transformed before my very eyes into a vile, vulgar, aggressive being – physically and verbally.” she wrote. And then she explained that she was now giving him, in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal, his real name: Tariq Ramadan. “For modesty, I will not give the precise details here of the acts he made me submit to. But it is enough that he took great advantage of my weakness and the admiration I felt for him. ”
“He allowed himself gestures, attitudes and words that I could never have imagined.”
“And when I resisted,” she writes, “when I cried to him to stop, he insulted and humiliated me. He slapped me and attacked me. I saw in his crazy eyes that he was no longer master of himself. I was afraid he would kill me. I was completely lost. I started crying uncontrollably. He mocked me.” And she described his violence: “He choked me so hard that I thought I was going to die.” She also described him as threatening that her children might be harmed if she were to tell anyone.
All that amounts to “aggravating circumstances.”
Then there was “Christelle.”
That is the name being used by a second Muslim woman in Paris who has accused Ramadan of raping her in a hotel room in 2009. The unnamed 42-year-old, who is reported to have disability in her legs, said that the professor had subjected her to a terrifying and violent sexual assault. The French edition of Vanity Fair magazine, whose staff met the 45-year-old woman, said her lawsuit against Ramadan described “blows to the face and body, forced sodomy, rape with an object and various humiliations, including being dragged by the hair to the bathtub and urinated on.”
Still more “aggravating circumstances.”
And “Marie,” the third French Muslim who has accused Ramadan of multiple rapes, was the object of attack by two Ramadan loyalists. She described them as having grabbed her by the throat, sprayed her with water, verbally abused her, and threatened her that “next time it will be gasoline,” before running away.
We still don’t have the details about Ramadan’s repeated rapes of “Marie” but his record certainly suggests that there would have been “aggravating circumstances.”
Here’s the Swiss lady’s story: “Swiss woman files rape complaint against Islamic scholar,” Reuters, April 13, 2018:
A Swiss woman has filed a criminal complaint in Geneva for rape against the Islamic scholar Tariq Ramadan – already being held in custody in France on similar allegations – her lawyer said on Friday.
The allegation by the unnamed Swiss woman, a convert to Islam, relates to an alleged incident in Geneva in October 2008, the daily Tribune de Geneve said, citing a 13-page document. The woman was about 40 [sic for 35] at the time.
“At this stage of the procedure, I can confirm that we have filed a criminal complaint,” her lawyer Romain Jordan told Swiss Television TSR on Friday night. “The complaint puts forward facts that may amount to rape with aggravated [aggravating] circumstances.”
He declined to give further details.
Yael Hayat, one of Ramadan’s lawyers in Geneva, declined to comment on television, saying she was unaware of the case filed with the Geneva prosecutor. The prosecutor’s spokesman did not immediately respond to a query….
And the report on his latest accuser from rfi (Radio France Internationale) adds an important detail about the hotel encounter and rape: “New rape accusation against Islamic scholar Tariq Ramadan,” RFI, April 14, 2018:
…The new accusations come from a woman who has converted to Islam says Ramadan raped her and held her against her will in a hotel in Geneva in 2008, according to the Tribune de Genève newspaper.
In 13 pages of testimony she says she looked to him for support when she was going through difficulties with her family and started corresponding with him after meeting him at a book signing in Geneva.
Ramadan invited her to meet for coffee but then persuaded her to go to his hotel room, where he raped her and kept her prisoner for several hours.
She says she was too frightened to make a legal complaint at the time.
Holding her prisoner for several hours surely constitutes “aggravating circumstances.”
And why would she have been “too frightened to make a legal complaint” unless Ramadan had in some way threatened her, as he had threatened Henda Ayari and “Christelle,” and indirectly, “Marie”?
Those threats would also be “aggravating circumstances.”
We have been here before, in France, Switzerland, the United States.
And we will be here again. Ramadan. Rape. Aggravating Circumstances.

Yes indeed. Believing the character of Mohammed represents the “Model Man,” then, guaranteed, it’s all downhill from there respecting two very important types of overall cognitive ability: 1) common sense; and 2) moral intelligence.
No one can admire the character of Mohammed and themselves be an admirable person throughout. No exceptions. For instance, Tariq Ramadan (who is actually worse than a lot of fellow Muslims, easily so; yeah, total slimeball).

Why Tariq Ramadan (rapist) practices NORMAL ISLAM:
1) Tariq Ramadan is a leading Muslim in the world (not a nobody and not ‘uninformed’ about Islam).
2) Tariq Ramadan was considered a leading authority on Islam.
3) Tariq Ramadan is an ‘ARISTOCRAT’ of Islam, being the grandson of the Muslim Brotherhood’s founder, Hassan al Banna.
4) Tariq Ramadan was promoted by Islamic countries who surely had the spying capacity to learn of his rape activities. They did nothing to stop him.

What a barbaric crowd. Absolutely no self-control or attempt at self-control. They don’t even leave their own women or little boys alone. I guess that goes along with a culture that continually dehumanizes every group that isn’t their own
A big hurray to the muslim women who are showing great courage laying complaints against another muslim. Co-operation with the authorities in an action against another muslim (let alone laying the charges themselves) is a huge taboo.

Brother Tariq knows he’s in trouble and needs the best help he can hire. He’s got a Jewish woman lawyer.

The propaganda value to Ramadan of having a Jewish lawyer — and a woman to boot — is obvious. Perhaps so obvious that it won’t work. She, of course, should be ashamed of herself for agreeing to be his lawyer.
ElderlyZionist says
Of course he’s hiding behind her skirts.
A cousin of mine made his fortune doing sharia-compliant arbitrage investment for rich Arabs on Wall Street. Arabs *like* to have Jews work for them. They want to hire the best talent. They think we’re smart and loyal to our paychecks. I can’t disagree. I find the whole syndrome extremely funny.

A lot of men who are accused of sex crimes get women defense attorneys. As Hugh notes, it’s a transparent ploy. Oh well, at least it’s a payday for the counselor.

Chris Malan says
The evidence for a rape months or years after the alledged event is in most cases just the statements of the complainant. Having examined rape cases as a forensic medical officer, I know for a fact that some of them are false. It is utterly stupid to wait days, weeks, months or years before coming with a rape complaint. The time to come is immediately, in the same clothes, not having washed, bathed or showered. The easiest to prove of the few I saw in the short time I did that work were all of this kind – the evidence was clear, abundant and overwhelming.
There is a great danger to men in disgruntled women claiming years later that the men had raped them and the politically correct world taking the women’s word as gospel. The word of a lawyer should never be believed.
David says
Chris , any idea why these women should want to point the finger at Ramadan? Don’t overlook the allegations that he threatened then with violence if they reported him. Also the shame aspect probably kept them silent, also that reports are often ignored by the police.

“… It is utterly stupid to wait days, weeks, months or years before coming with a rape complaint. The time to come is immediately, in the same clothes, not having washed, bathed or showered…”.
How many girls, or women, or for that matter, their friends, partners, spouses, family members, school counsellors, teachers, *know* that? How widely is that information promulgated? is it part of, for example, ‘sex ed’ in schools? That if you are raped – and this would apply to boys, too, who are also raped and molested – you *must* go to the cops *immediately*, like, the moment you escape from or are released by the perp?
Leaving aside the Ramadan case, where a charismatic academic and charmer morphs into a monster once he has his naive ‘groupies’ alone and at his mercy…
Let’s think about some likely scenarios.
Imagine an eight, or nine, or ten or twelve or thirteen year old *girl* who is subjected to a rape – whether by a stranger, or – more often – by someone she knows and trusted, a family friend, a kinsman, maybe her stepfather. *How* will *she* have either the presence of mind or even the *means* to contact the cops, straight after the rape, while she’s still bruised and bleeding, and testify?? What if she has been *threatened* by the perp? How many kids that age would have the presence of mind to call the police then and there?
Suppose she is raped by a teacher, or a family friend. *Will* she tell – will she even feel *able* to tell – someone, straight after the attack? Will *they* know that they are supposed to take her straight to the police station? What if she isn’t *able* to screw up her courage to tell her mum or grandma or auntie what was done to her? And what if *they* refuse to believe her?
mortimer says
Why did Tariq Ramadan rape so much? Because RAPE IS NORMATIVE ISLAM, rather than an aberration.
Allah made RAPING DIRTY KAFIRS a part of JIHAD and a reward for those who fight for Islam. Ramadan, no doubt, sincerely believed that RAPE WAS PART OF HIS WORK.
Allah wants Muslims to HUMBLE the kafirs. What better way to humble KAFIR WOMEN besides RAPING THEM???
This is so obvious once you see it.
Hugh Fitzgerald says
The three women in France who have so far accused him, the one in the United States who has accused him, and now this woman in Switzerland, have all been Muslims, some of them born into the faith, like Henda Ayari, while others are converts to it.
Only the girls whom he seduced when he was their teacher and they his pupils at a high school in Geneva -he slept with three of them, while the youngest, aged 14, refused him — are non-Muslims.

Henda Ayari, who filed the first complaint against Ramadan on October 20, 2017, no longer receives any support: “My family does not speak to me any more”. Her name, phone numbers and addresses were disclosed on social media. Her care was vandalized. “I cannot go shopping anymore,” Ayari said, “I cannot walk down the street, I go out with a cap, sunglasses and my head down… “I have not received any message [of support] from feminist organizations” she told Marianne.
unlike the women who spoke out against Harvey W, the degree of bravery required against TR is much higher. i doubt that any court of law in France or the UK will ever convict the grandson of Al Banna who has demi god status among the progressive intellectual left, let alone the Muslim community. The unfortunate women well either retract .shown to be lying, or suffer aggression.
such is the difference between Jewish and Muslim brotherhood elite sex fiends.
