Shining a light on these oppressors will ultimately, we can only hope, bring about enough awareness, and righteous indignation, to topple their inhuman regime.
“Video of Iran ‘morality police’ wrestling with woman sparks outrage,” by Saeed Kamali Dehghan, Guardian, April 19, 2018:
Shocking video footage of a young woman being wrestled to the floor by Iranian “morality police” because her hijab was loose has sparked outrage after it was posted online.
The footage shows members of the special taskforce tackling the woman, believed to be in her mid-20s, in Tehran. Under Iranian law, it is compulsory for women to cover themselves from head to toe in public, but many defy the boundaries by wearing loose hijab that shows their hair.
The video shows two young friends, one wearing a maghnaeh (similar to a nun’s cowl) and the other wearing a loose headscarf that reveals part of her hair. The latter is verbally cautioned, before a female police officer slaps her in the face and wrestles her to the floor. The young woman is heard screaming repeatedly: “Let me go, let me go.”
Within hours of the video going viral, Iran’s minister of interior, Abdolreza Rahmani-Fazil, ordered an inquiry, according to an official statement that called the incident “an unusual treatment of a woman at the hands of the morality police”.
The statement insinuated that the young woman had provoked the police by swearing at them when they asked her to respect the law. But it said the reaction of the police was also “unconventional”….

The Hall Monitor Syndrome – the overwhelming need to ensure that nobody indulges in behavior denied to the “Monitor”. The ultimate “Monitor” training manual is the Quran which instructs believers to actively “forbid” anything Allah(i.e. Muhammad) has forbidden.
Islamic Forbidding must be scratching relief to the ears of the Muslim infected with “Hall Monitor Syndrome” as it offers to the Morality Police volunteer, authority to rise from obscurity to power. Ironically, in Iran, it can’t be music to their ears!
Iran’s Islam – proving daily that there are multiple ways to deny enjoyment(“no fun in Islam”) to others while having perverted fun doing it.

The chairman of the group and most of the other members of the group who were also Muslim went berserk at the Muslim lady for shaking hand with a Non-Muslim. I had to calm them down and promised to take the full responsibility for the child if she got pregnant by shaking hand with me.

This seconds long video clip disproves 3 common leftist narratives: 1. The veil is a choice, 2. Islam is a religion of peace and, 3. Men own the domain of physical violence.
It also shows why separation of church and state make the West better than the Islamic World, that Muslims are the victims of Muslims and that no one should have the legal power to enforce moral codes of behavior.
mortimer says
NOT a ‘choice’! The symbol of patriarchy and misogyny.
Jayell says
Being enforced by another woman? I’m becoming more and more suspicious of this ‘oppressive male patriarchy’ argument. There seems to be a strong element of collusion here, and my suspicions are reinforced by the refusal of western femininists to challenge islamic attitudes on this matter. There must be something in it for them. What, exactly?
UltraSkeptic says
“No one should have the legal power to enforce moral codes”? There’s a novel idea. It’s immoral to kill someone. Should that not be illegal? Obvious answer… But how about making it illegal to do things to your own body which impact nobody else. Like Prohibition. Like the Drug wars. Just as wacko as is the Mohammedan enforcement of their strict interpretation of tradition, we do the same, though we are far more evil in our enforcement: we encourage the worst evil of criminals for profit while we put huge numbers of people in prison so private prison investors can make lots of money, all because someone wants to alter his mood chemically. The pharmaceutical houses are permitted to kill us for profit, but we are not permitted to play with our own bodies for pleasure. Nor are the Iranian women. Not really that different, when you come down to it.
gravenimage says
What a load of crap. Even if you have issues with Western law enforcement, the idea that the religious police assaulting women for wearing lax Hijab, hanging gay people from cranes, and stoning women to death is preferable is grotesque.
And no–no one in the West is being murdered by pharmaceutical companies, and masterbation is *not* illegal here as you seem to imply. What claptrap.

Eur says
Remember, muslims mayority countries in the past were non muslims mayority countries… What will happen in our countries as Muslims gain social and political weight? You just have to open your eyes … Not all cultures are equally respectable, multiculturalism is a big lie. They are trying to make us believe that accepting a massive immigration of Muslims in our countries will produce a culturally rich mixture … as if it were to produce a New Orleans type mix, with Cajun food, jazz, Mardi gras …. All this is ridiculous, a utopia, the Muslims do not contribute anything positive, they are serious people, without joy, without musical culture, without dances, without parties, with restrictions on meals … They are addicted to prayer and idolize their heroes warriors of the past, their magic book urges them to conquer the world crushing the rest of cultures. In short, it is suicide.

“Morality” police?What morality?
allah’s and islam’s warped “morality”?
allah’s commandment-of-God violating “holy” koran that sanctions everything from child brides{k65v 4} to polygamy{k4v 3},from permitting adultery with enslaved women{k4v 24,k33 v 50} to lying, from murdering innocent non-muslims{k2 v191} to enforcing a Jizya tax on them?
What morality is there when allah/islam/the koran does not even conform to any of God’s official Commandments and has absolutely no concept of the 2 chief laws?
Judaism and Christianity both conform to God’s commandments{10+2},which are the basis of the Biblical understanding of God’s version of what is right and what is wrong:God’s version of morality.
But the islamic koranic allah’s version of “morality” is NOT God’s version of morality!
In islam or in the koran ,the Commandments of God are twisted in such a way so as to allow muslims to break them(..and of course..the 2 chief ones are completely and inexcusably missing in islam)
Religious devotions, apparel etc are of much lesser importance than living a good moral life in accordance with God’s(..not allah’s!..) commandments.
“If we obey God’s commandments, then we are sure that we know Him.
If someone says that he knows him,but does not obey His commands,
such a person is a liar and there is no truth in him.
But whoever obeys His word is the one whose love for God has been made perfect.
This is how we can be sure that we are in union with God”
I JOHN 2 v 3-5
So the fradulenty pious, devout religious hypocrite fussing over items of clothing proves himself/herself
to be a liar because what counts is not blind adherence to religious rules or public displays of ritualistic piety that matter{anybody can put on a holy show) but …it is obeying God’s Commands.
You see islamic terrorists and they don’t obey ANY of God’s Commandments:clogging up the streets with public displays of false piety is just as hypocritical..as is this “morality”(!!) police bullying a woman over something so trifling as the way she wears her hijab.
religious zealots are often the most appaling hypocrites and “holy” men..(how many scoundrels are attracted to religious office!..) are often a shower of whited sepulchres
These “morality” police are more like the Religious equivalent of the Gestapo(or indeed the Soviet NKVD)
This is religious tyranny at its worst.
gravenimage says
Yes–there is no morality in Islam.
Walter Sieruk says
The harsh brutal oppression of girls and women in this tyrannical Islamic regime of Iran has ,many times, becomes even worse the forcing females to wear hijab against their will . As this following example reveals.
That heinously cruel and murderous Islamic tyranny of Iran is very brutal and vicious to the Iranian people. Especially regarding females. Both girls and women. For example a teenage girl in Iran was talking to her boyfriend on the phone and then the Islamic state “police” walked over to her and shot her dead. They did that wicked and malicious thing to her because she was talking to her boyfriend and they also didn’t like her clothing. [1] That was a clear cut case of murder and vicious Islamic madness by Iran’s Islamic state “ police”, who call themselves the “Revolutionary Guards”, they got away with their hideous and malice –filled evil because the mullahs as well as other villains in power in that tyrannical Islamic regime

Japetto Danatelli says
This is what it means to live under sharia, this is the brutality Spencer and other like-minded folks are fighting against. Yet we are bigots and racists for caring about this inhumane treatment of people under islam. And what a laugh, “morality” police! ha! you can’t make this sh*t up! This is what happens when you give government unfettered power over your life as islam does. They want to control your thoughts, your dress, your religion, your politics, everything important in life for a bigoted cult born of 7th century ignorance. And now we got Macy’s selling hijabs! just one more example of how the West is embracing the bigotry and abuse of islam in the name of fashion and freedom. We got millions of women in the world today who must wear that garment under duress and risk a full range of abuse if they don’t, up to and including murder and imprisonment. But somehow that’s okay to certain retailers who want to turn this brutal discrimination into a fashion statement. Why not just sell t-shirts with pictures of black lynchings, or Jews in the gas chamber? It’s this total disregard for the rights of women that gets me. I mean, no matter how one feels about the hijab itself you’d think they’d still care about the ugly underlying truth, right? And the ugly truth is the hijab is a real world expression of discrimination and slavery for islamic culture and religion that affects millions. This will never be fashionable in my mind, and to promote it as a respectable fashion to be admired and worn is grossly insensitive to those who suffer bigotry because of it. But again, I’m the bigot for caring about this, but those who sell islam’s quintessential symbol of female slavery is okay. I guess the only thing worse is the 101 other abuses women experience under islam, but’s that’s a whole another thread completely.
I threw away my headscarf in my teenage youth — but in secret — when I found that it was not my identity, that it was because of the discriminatory law, social pressure, family pressure and emotional pressure.~Masih Alinejad

Twenty-five years ago, I encountered an obviously Muslim family in an American supermarket. The wife and approximately 6-year old daughter were covered head-to-toe in black tents. The husband wore tight leather pants, a red silk shirt open almost to the waist (yuck…he was as hairy as a gorilla) and multiple gold chains and rings. The hypocrisy and misogyny demonstrated in that picture remain with me even today, and I find it sad and disgusting that so many women in this world still have to deal with that kind of crap.

When I go to my local grocery store I often see a woman dressed in a long sleeved floor length coat and a headscarf, even on the hottest summer day. She has a young boy with her dressed in western clothing. It is my life’s ambition to put a package of bacon in her cart but the kid is always watching. One day I will do it and hear her shriek when she picks it up at check out.
