Ramadan in France, followed by yet more dhimmitude and willful ignorance from a Catholic bishop.
“As stated and confirmed by the faithful present at this Mass of Pentecost in the cathedral of Nantes, the disrupter of the worship service said ‘Allahu akbar’ into the microphone…Father Benoît Bertrand, vicar general, who argues the contrary, is either deaf or is not telling the truth.”
My money is on the latter. Father Benoît Bertrand is following the line set by Pope Francis, who has risibly claimed that “authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence.” It has become a superdogma in the Catholic Church: if you don’t believe that Islam is a Religion of Peace, you will be ruthlessly harassed and silenced by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and the hierarchy elsewhere as well. The bishops of the Catholic Church are much more concerned that you believe that Islam is a religion of peace than that you believe in, say, the Nicene Creed.
And so Father Benoît Bertrand has every reason to cover up what happened in the Nantes cathedral on Pentecost Sunday. To tell the truth would make his boss, and the entire Catholic Church’s position on Islam and mass Muslim migration into Europe, look bad.
“Leave them; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14)
“‘Allah Akbar’ in the cathedral of Nantes: there is a problem,” translated from “‘Allah Akbar’ en la cathédrale de Nantes : il y a un loup,” Riposte catholique, May 30, 2018 (thanks to David):
Episode 1: an alert is issued and spreads on Twitter. There was a Muslim provocation in the Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral in Nantes, during the Mass of Pentecost celebrated by Bishop Jean-Paul James.
Episode 2: Presse Océan publishes an article on the subject based solely on the testimony of the Vicar General Abbot Bertrand, to deny this provocation and accuse:
It took only one publication that was wrong, so that the rumor remains on the web: a man tore the microphone out of the hands of the bishop of Nantes on Sunday, in the middle of the solemn Mass of Pentecost, to shout “Allahu akbar” in the cathedral “packed to the rafters”. Relayed several hundred times over the internet, what is then presented as an “info” from a “very reliable source” has begun to fuel fantasies. However, it cannot stand up to the “objectivity of the facts.” Father Benoît Bertrand, Vicar General of the Diocese of Nantes, was “on the right” of Bishop Jean-Paul James when a man was “on the podium.” It was “about 10:30 am,” and the bishop began his homily in front of “1,500 to 2,000 people […] The man grabbed the microphone and made remarks in a foreign language. He did not shout ‘Allahu akbar’ at all, says the vicar. Clinging to the microphone, he was determined to speak and seemed especially extremely fragile psychologically […] There are always malicious people who seek to fuel this kind of rumor and excite people’s minds when they should rather seek to calm them. It is not a matter of being naive, we remain vigilant in the national context, but everyone must stick to the reality and the objectivity of the facts.”
The word of the vicar is the word of the Gospel for Presse Océan. It’s fun to report. But the case does not end there.
Episode 3: Daniel Hamiche recounts the testimony of a crucial witness, with whom he spoke for a long time:
All that Presse Océan has written, on the strength of the declarations of the vicar general, is contradicted. Yes, as stated and confirmed by the faithful present at this Mass of Pentecost in the cathedral of Nantes, the disrupter of the worship service said “Allahu akbar” into the microphone…Father Benoît Bertrand, vicar general, who argues the contrary, is either deaf or is not telling the truth. The troublemaker, a 25-year-old black man, climbed to the pulpit about five minutes after the beginning of the bishop’s homily. He interrupted the bishop, who retreated while the archpriest who is rector of the cathedral, an elderly man, tried unsuccessfully to repel the intruder: the vicar general also tried without more success. The agitated young man spoke into the microphone in Arabic without pronouncing a single word of French. A deacon, the rector, the vicar general and two young people from the parish finally overpowered the disrupter and kicked him out, where he was undoubtedly detained by the police stationed in front of the cathedral. The bishop resumed his homily by saying, “Well, I’m resuming.” On the recording of his homily that was put online the next day, Monday, May 21, nothing is apparent: the recording has been edited, which is quite outrageous if this incident happened as reported. But is it surprising?

These people make me sick. Here’s part of the reason I am an Evangelical Christian and no longer a Catholic:
Catechism of the Catholic Church – 841: The Church’s relationship with the Muslims. “The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.”
This is utterly blasphemous towards the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ at Calvary, keeping in mind:
Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. – 1 John 2:22

Hello Elisha .
Yes, absolutely. Islam is a fake religion:
“these profess to hold the faith of Abraham” — except that their Abraham is a Muslim, and all the stories of him in the Quran don’t match the Bible. It’s the same way with all their so-called “patriarchs”: they’re just a lot of names with made-up stories behind them. Even pre-Islamic tradition doesn’t support them: they just come out of nowhere. You have to totally reject the Bible to accept Islam. Islam is a fake, and the Pope and all his lackeys know this. They’re being paid off, as in millions, for relocating “refugees”. Congratulations on seeing the light, but just be aware that much of the Protestant Church is doing the same thing.
Stacy Girl says
Yes indeed-it’s sad. The Catechism is an often-updated body of work that is the work of men, not God.
Elisha says
Hey Granddaddy. You have pointed out the wisdom of God in Scripture, ie the choice between loving Him or money. It goes to show that Babylon isn’t a doctrine or something that resides in a particular denomination, rather it is the world system that exists in some people’s hearts, regardless of affiliation. Seeing the light is merely a love of truth, which has its roots in God, who is truth and having Him reveal Himself to us. I always approach things dispassionately and wonder how some Protestants, who claim Sola Scriptura, hold to things like the Westminster Confession, et al. For me, it’s Luke 24:45 all the way.
God bless.
Lydia Church says
I agree!
That is another heretical body of work by men.
Do not fall into the trap called Calvinism. That has its roots in the same mire if you dig far back enough. Totally unbiblical, yet many fall to its clever propaganda and scripture twisting. Armimius had it right, and all they can do is sling mud on him too.
Stick to the Bible and pray, God will reveal the truth.
There is a great book out called “What Love Is This?” refuting all five points of Calvinism, by Dave Hunt. Worth the research.
I got it with just the Bible and prayer, but not all do so I mention the book.

Mortimer, how does objecting to this kind of Muslim aggression make one a bigot or a white supremacist?
Lydia Church says
Mortimer, you’ve gone over the deep end.
Have you been indoctrinated somewhere, hit over the head, kidnapped, brainwashed, and mind controlled? And they returned you to us to side with mt itace or whatever it is? Because… that’s sure what it is starting to look like.
We need to start praying for you.
And one note, it is good to expose acquiescence to evil, no matter where one finds it. That is part of fighting the battle.
RichardL says
Come on, Mortimer. That’s unlike you. I have disagreements with Jay but on all important things we all here agree. Only when it comes to the mistakes of my Church there is too much venom and too little unity going around.
Lydia Church says
Praise the Lord brother!
Exactly. muslims are not saved, it’s not the faith of Abraham, and it’s NOT the same God!
Blasphemy. There is so much that is unbiblical in the Catholic church. I know many are unaware, which is why I plead with people to do your research! How can any sincere Christian still claim to belong to an organization that makes a statement like that 841 if they know about it?
RichardL says
That doesn’t deny Jesus. When a cardinal takes his cross off when visiting the Temple Mount. That is denying Christ.
Search for Fr Martin Rhonheimer. He says islam is a devil cult. I know him personally and he is still a happy priest and professor.

I am sorry to hear that you abandoned Christianity Elisha because of the actions of sinful men. I really can’t think of anything more stupid or self-destructive. Perhaps next you might want to convert to Islam yourself. In any case becoming an “evangelical” is a step in the right direction.

from episode#3: “… The agitated young man spoke into the microphone in Arabic without pronouncing a single word of French…”
” … It is more important to speak God’s Word than other languages, unless you explain what you say in order to help the church grow…” [1Corinthians 14:5b (Beck)]
it should be said that this stranger participated in the Pentecost Observance in a most offensive way if indeed he said ‘ALLAHU AKBAR.’ the allah god of islam (unknowalbe; the best of all deceivers) is not the greatest. THIS IS BLASPHEMY BEFORE TRIUNE GOD.
that he spoke to gathered believers and unbelievers alike – without any interpretation – is also offensive to both the believer and unbelievers. he gave no one opportunity to determine whether what he said was TRUE. “When a man speaks in another language, he doesn’t speak to people but to God, because no one understands him; his spirit is speaking mysteries….” [1Cor.14: 2 (Beck)] here – the church – was offended.
PaPa Frank should take note of that. the entire cathedral was contaminated and needs rededication, or, a cleansing, because this man acted and was not confronted, only subdued, by the gathered elect..

Gjallarhornet says
In Catholic doctrine the church has a divine part and a human part. Meaning that they see themselves as prone to error and human folly, just like the rest of us.
Looking at that Church now, clearly the human part – meaning stupidity and weakness (fear of islam) – has the upper hand. The divine part is not nourished by the top brass of the Church, but by nominal members, who have no power over the doctrine and direction. These are people who know the truth about islam, something the upper echelons do not. And if they do, then they are lying to us about it. Not a very Christian thing do do, is it? The Church should be peoples shield in the darkness. It it is far from that now.

You are right! This Pope is in error when he speaks about Politics, and we (I’m RC) have no need to listen to him about that! He shoulg have done all he could to stop the present Muslim invasion of Europe, which is in fact the third jihad.(perhaps that would not avoided it, but, at least, he could say “I did what I could”). But he didn’t even try! What a pity! Let us pray his successor is better!
Please let us do not fight among ourselves (Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox). This cannot do any good, and will only strength ou r enemy (Islam, alied with Leftism). Even non-Leftists atheists or agnostics can and should help us in that good fight!
Stacy Girl says
Your typical catholic believes Allah is the same as God the Father, and that allahu ahkbar means God is great. So this is just a slight instance of talking out of turn for the jihadi. They are indebted to the piece of garbage as no one was shanked.
Petrouchka1 says
Your “typical catholic”? Care to give a citation on that, Stacy Girl? As concerned citizen mentioned, Catholics are not obliged to regard any political pronouncements by this (or any) Pope as official church doctrine. Hopefully, thanks to JW and other sites, more folks of all denominations are coming to know exactly what Allahu Akbar means.

Personally, I consider dhimmitude a problem wherever one finds it.
And the truth is that if Europe falls to Islam it would threaten Orthodox Christians, as well.
Wellington says
Seconded, gravenimage. I don’t mind at all spirited debates, even very feisty ones, among non-Muslims about cosmic realities, whatever their creed or lack thereof, but when it comes to actually demonizing a portion of the alliance against what Islam intends for us all, this is where I draw the line.
I always have and I always will.

“…Father Benoît Bertrand, vicar general, who argues the contrary, is either deaf or is not telling the truth…”
The church is not his private domain and therefore he has no special allowance for fudging or obscuring the truth of the matter. The congregation were in danger and therefore the truth needed to shared more broadly.
Lydia Church says
The true Gospel:
Jesus is God the Son (Trinity) come down to die for our sins because only He is sinless and make atonement for us as sinners and He rose again, showing His power over sin and death and the devil, fall, curse, etc. He provided the only way of salvation from hell and a life enslaved to sin. We must come to HIM and Him alone to be saved. We repent and surrender ourselves to Him and we must take that step OURSELVES, of our own free will. We are saved by grace through faith in what Jesus did; dying for our sins. This is how we are born again. We then live a life empowered by God to do His will, which includes serving Him and many good things and a live of victory over sin. See: Bible.
Those who do this are the true Church.

And that’s it, I too celebrate CHRISTIAN holidays and no others.
Many are not even aware of them.
Jesus fulfills all the 7 Biblical feasts. Feast of Unleavened Bread, Passover, Firstfruits= crucifixion, burial, resurrection. Pentecost=Pentecost. All to the day. First 3 were in Spring, corresponding with His first arrival, one in late Spring, the arrival of the Holy Spirit. The last 3 are after the harvest season of summer is over, in the Autumn, and correspond with His return. After Resurrection Sunday, it was 40 days until His ascension, and 10 more until the descending of the Holy Spirit, so that was 50 days after Resurrection Sunday. (Pente means 50 or something like that.) So these dates are in May and sometimes early June, depending on when Easter falls, anywhere within a month between March and April 20th. There is a formula which I forget having to do with the Spring Solstice, the full moon, and some other item regarding the Passover (which corresponds to Easter as we know). Anyway the point is that this is OUR time to celebrate OUR holidays! And that is always the case. No Christian can celebrate holidays of another religion (like islam) and that should be obvious.

Larry you are wrong. Many priests are genuinely good men. Those I have known well enough to ask, have said they would have married, had it been allowed.
