Why did Clinton, Bush and Obama promise and not deliver? Because they were convinced by “foreign policy experts” that if they moved the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, “Palestinians” and other Muslims would riot and murder innocent people. They were bowing to naked intimidation, which only encourages and enables those who are doing the intimidating.
President Trump has done the right thing: stood strong in the face of threats and fulminations and denunciations. Courage is in such short supply these days, many people don’t even recognize it for what it is. Our entire foreign policy regarding the “Palestinians,” and in other areas as well, has been based for decades upon the proposition that we should bow in the face of intimidation and threats, and try to buy off or otherwise placate the bullies, giving them as much of what they demand as we possibly can. This doesn’t work, has not worked, and will never work. President Trump is setting a new course. Every free individual should hope that he succeeds in carrying through the spirit of this embassy move to the entirety of U.S. foreign policy.
