Efraim Karsh, the author of the acclaimed book Islamic Imperialism: A History, read an advance copy of my new book The History of Jihad From Muhammad to ISIS and had this to say:
From the first Arab-Islamic empire of the mid-seventh century to the fall of the Ottoman Empire, the story of Islam has been the story of the rise and fall of universal empires and, no less importantly, of never quiescent imperialist dreams. In this tour de force, Robert Spencer narrates the transformation of the concept of jihad, ‘exertion in the path of Allah,’ from a rallying cry fro the prophet Muhammad’s followers into a supreme religious duty and the primary vehicle for the expansion of Islam throughout the ages. A must-read for anyone seeking to understand the roots of the Manichean struggle between East and West and the nature of the threat confronted by the West today.
Click here to preorder The History of Jihad From Muhammad to ISIS, the only book of its kind, bringing you the entire history of jihad from its beginnings to the present day, with massive implications for both foreign and domestic policy.

Historian Efraim Karsh on Robert Spencer’s The History of Jihad: “A tour de force”
…………………….
*Excellent!*

Lot of prestigious scholars supporting the book.

If Robert Spencer wrote the book…..Why would he need anyone to back it up…we know his writings so it has to be truthful and excellent.
Of course most of us will read the book, as we Jihad Watchers have read his other writings, but will those who really need to read it do so?
We see all these hearings in Washington and don’t get me wrong, some are surely needed…but wouldn’t it be great to have a hearing on what is happening with islam and have Robert as one called to testify….but of course …The RANKING MEMBER (the liberal left) would berate him sorely.

JDS, you’re likely correct re: the liberal left, but the truth needs to be told and retold about the Muslim threat to the world. Mr. Spencer would be one of the ones to be called, I trust, and represent history and the present facts quite well. I’m disappointed that war has not been declared on Islam by the United States since before and after 9/11. We have been repeatedly threatened and injured but with little retaliation. When are we going to really listen to what is being said? Soon, I hope.

Another ISLAMIC TRUISM from the annals of the Infidel:
In most religions, one finds statistically that the women are more religious bent of mind than men because most religions follow the golden rule of kindness and compassion to one and all and women being of a more softer nature easily accommodate themselves into this..
EXCEPT ISLAM..
Where statistically men are more fervent than women.. that is because Islam DOES NOT follow the golden rule but promulgates incessant violence against unbelievers. Thus it is men who get more accommodated into this philosophy, esp young men with a violent bent of mind..
Something to SURELY ponder …

Either that and/or it’s extremely pro-male. You’ll find devout muslims of either gender to be sure. Some say women helped inspire the muslims to win at Yarmouk by slinging insults at the retreating males. So close to liberation they were on that day…
St. Manuel II Palailogos says
It’s pro-adult male. Boys in Islam are beaten and raped.

Yes Eduardo, this book may turn out to be a great rallying point for a good many scholars, readers and the millions fed up with all the excuses made to try to exonerate violent Islamic expansionism throughout the centuries.
Terry Gain says
I prefer describing the mandatory Islamic conquest – 9:29 – as Islamic imperialism. The word expansion is too neutral.
