In this new video, I discuss a recent ROTC exercise at UCLA which featured American troops fighting Islamic jihadis, sparking outrage from the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

Mr. Spencer, thank you for your perspective regarding CAIR’s objections to aspects of Islamophobia in ROTC exercises. Nonetheless I write to complain that your representation of this important story leaves out half of its key elements.
It is of course logical for troops to train to face realistic battlefield conditions. This is only common sense. At the same time, however, these impressionable young people preparing for armed service should not leave with the impression that these Middle-Eastern-appearing targets apply to all Muslims, and especially not to Muslim Americans.
One compromise would be to give all ROTC trainees copies of former President Obama’s historic speech in Cairo in 2009.
Then-President Obama began by recalling: “As the Holy Koran tells us, ‘Be conscious of God and speak always the truth.’ That is what I will try to do – to speak the truth as best I can, humbled by the task before us, and firm in my belief that the interests we share as human beings are far more powerful than the forces that drive us apart.”
Given this charge, then-President Obama sought to teach his fellow citizens and all citizens of the work that “I know, too, that Islam has always been a part of America’s story. The first nation to recognize my country was Morocco. In signing the Treaty of Tripoli in 1796, our second President John Adams wrote, ‘The United States has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Muslims.’ And since our founding,” continued this transformational and quintessential US leader, “American Muslims have enriched the United States. They have fought in our wars, served in government, stood for civil rights, started businesses, taught at our Universities, excelled in our sports arenas, won Nobel Prizes, built our tallest building, and lit the Olympic Torch. And when the first Muslim-American was recently elected to Congress, he took the oath to defend our Constitution using the same Holy Koran that one of our Founding Fathers – Thomas Jefferson – kept in his personal library.”
In recognition of the general awesomeness of former President Obama and his Nobel-recognized accomplishments toward world peace, let the above words be written on the gate posts of our houses and on our gates and as frontlets between our eyes. I am sure that these modest and respectful steps would satisfy the leadership of CAIR in accordance with the long arm of history.

Moshe, Obama said a lot of bunk and half truths. Our early president James Madison criticized Islam as they learned of it through the Barbary pirates, and our Navy was created because of that. The Muslim Barbary pirates took our sailors as slaves as they did as far as Iceland and massacred many innocent people.
Islam and Muslims have been insignificant in our history as there weren’t many here. There is no good reason to make it seem so as other peoples weren’t that significant either. In school I did not learn about Muslims doing or creating things, but I did learn about Chinese immigrants working on our transcontinental railroads. I have no idea what “tallest building” Obama is talking about, but the US had the first tallest skyscraper in the world and Muslims didn’t even work on it as you can see photos of the workers…a bunch of European men.
Hence, Obama didn’t mention why Jefferson had a Qur’an as the thousands of books he had. Go read about the Barbary Wars…quite nasty stuff; I don’t think Muslims learn about that and they should know, especially if they live in America.
For centuries the West has listened to Middle Eastern Islamic countries and Muslims denigrate our countries, cultures, etc. and that actually held back Arab countries. Slavery still isn’t gone in all Islamic or Muslim majorities. European slaves and women put in harems was significant. It’s time the Middle East grows up and apologizes or acknowledges their history and all that we did for them. It seems like Islam is getting some type of affirmative action treatment and that is a bad thing and historically incomplete.
Obama told a bunch of half truths just as Muslims do about the Qur’an, the verses, and Islamic history. You can cherry-pick verses but that doesn’t change the rest of them and how much the Qur’an is hateful towards, and unless Muslims admit that they are liars and weak of mind, and thus jihad in all it’s forms will continue causing havoc and ruining cultures as it’s always done.
Try standing on other people’s shoes. Obama’s speech should be discarded as it’s pandering and superficial.

Mr. Commonsense, I am shocked.
When I was a boy, we learned in school to memorize and recite historic speeches, such as Pericles’ Funeral Oration, Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, and the Rev. MLK, Jr’s “I have a Dream” oration at the Lincoln Memorial.
The next generation of progressive American children, like multicultural children in Europe and around the world, will surely study former Pres. Obama’s eloquent and transcendent address in Cairo, 2009. Because it is too long for children to memorize, at least in the West, key paragraphs will be assigned to individual students.

Re: stars in the sky
I refer J-W readers to the following remembrance by a prominent member of the Obama Administration. I agree that Pres. Obama’s philosophical musings are deep and reflect a profound understanding of the human condition–just too good for us.
“Hours after the globe-rattling election of a man whom Barack Obama has total disdain for, a toon [i.e., President Donald Trump] who would take a chain saw to the former president’s legacy on policy and decency, [then-President] Obama sent a message to his adviser Ben Rhodes: “There are more stars in the sky than grains of sand on the earth.”
The renowned national-security expert and novelist Mr. Ben Rhodes, in his brilliant new book “The World as It Is.”

The threat of Islam is so serious that sarcasm often doesn’t work. This is particularly the case with Obama’s fabulist Cairo speech since he was never taken to task for his many lies about the relationship between Islam and America and what “the holy Koran teaches” (which he said with vomit producing unctuousness).

Everything is geared toward their da’wa and soft war jihad. I presume they are concerned about Muslim migration. They don’t talk about what Muslim countries and Muslims overseas say about us. I have listened to CAIR people and Muslims say anti-American things no less three Muslim parades in New York City where they were carrying an American flag with a crescent and star over our stars. These are on YT videos. No less money slims who were happy about 9/11 or Hizb-ut-Tahrir folks calling for an Islamic revolution in our country and all various offensive things to the majority of Americans. It’s all about them…they don’t acknowledge what other people think.
When Iran’s soldiers practice war games they act as if they’re fighting Israelis and Americans. CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood are a cancer on American soil. CAIR has been behind many obnoxious things getting Muslims to do this or that and causing problems and then they make a big deal of it or try to sue. I recall they went to a church which obnoxiously allowed Muslins to pray inside and these girls interviewed had said CAIR set it up. One woman wore a hijab to her Catholic school job without consulting her supervisor and she was fired; she said, “CAIR said it was OK.” Thus CAIR meddles in many ways, notably schools, the FBI, etc. It’s pathetic that politicians, etc haven’t marginalized them when they are causing troubles and division…another MB tactic-to pit people against each other, notably blacks, despite imams STILL justifying slavery and Arab racism is bad. Also, while they know Muslims in western countries call for sharia law, they don’t acknowledge how that would anger people as they see it as their right and entitlement, especially if they are citizens. THEY DON’T CARE HOW OTHER PEOPLE FEEL!
