In Jihad Watch’s coverage of Donald Trump’s welcoming Muslims to the White House for a Ramadan Iftar dinner, Robert Spencer indicated that Trump’s statement about Ramadan’s message of “timeless message of peace, clarity [sic], and love” was a “dispiriting reiteration of the fantasies that prevailed in Washington during the three administrations (at least) that preceded his.”
It is also interesting that Trump excluded Muslim Brotherhood-linked groups from his Iftar:
Among the excluded political groups were the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) and the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR). Also excluded were the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA).
CAIR, ISNA and ICNA, as well as other mainstream Muslim groups, are all linked to the Muslim Brotherhood. That they were not invited to the White House is a significant statement.
The exclusion is a sharp change from former President Barack Obama, who put the Brotherhood-linked groups front-and-center in his Iftar dinners and his Middle East strategy.
The Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliates are enemies to America, enemies to democracy, and to the West. The next step for the Trump administration and other Western democracies would be to declare the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization, given its established mandate….
that Islam should be “given hegemony over all matters of life.” Toward that end, the Brotherhood seeks to establish an Islamic caliphate, or kingdom — first spanning all of the present-day Muslim world, and eventually the entire globe. The organization further aspires to dismantle all non-Islamic governments wherever they currently exist, and to make Islamic Law (Shari’a) the sole basis of jurisprudence everywhere on earth. This purpose is encapsulated in the Brotherhood’s militant credo: “God is our objective, the Koran is our Constitution, the Prophet is our leader, struggle [jihad] is our way, and death for the sake of God is the highest of our aspirations.”
“Trump Excludes Brotherhood-Tied Groups from Iftar Dinner”, by Neil Munro, Breitbart, July 7, 2018:
President Donald Trump excluded a variety of domestic Islamic groups linked to the Muslim Brotherhood from his first White House annual Islamic ‘Iftar’ dinner.
The exclusion is a sharp change from former President Barack Obama, who put the Brotherhood-linked groups front-and-center in his Iftar dinners and his Middle East strategy. His regional strategy crashed once the Brotherhood groups in Egypt, Syria, Libya, Tunisia, and other countries were unable to restrain their Islamic radicalism during the so-called “Arab Spring.”
Reports show that most of the invitees at the dinner were the ambassadors of Islamic countries, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Morocco. The dinner marks the end of the Islamic Ramadan season of fasting.
Among the excluded political groups were the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) and the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR). Also excluded were the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), which cater to Muslim immigrants from Arab countries and from the Indian sub-continent.
CAIR has been declared a terrorist organization by the United Arab Emirates and was named by federal prosecutors as an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas-funding operation. MPAC was “established in 1988 by followers of the Muslim Brotherhood and admirers of Hezbollah… [and] is yet another Islamist wolf in the ‘social justice’ clothing of the hard Left,” said Andrew McCarthy, a prosecutor who convicted several Muslims for the New York jihad attacks.
Exclusion is a financial hit for various groups, some of which rely on domestic — or even foreign — donors who support them because of the groups’ claimed ability to advance Islamic goals in U.S. politics.
The exclusion also shows that the White House rejects the groups’ unproven claim to be legitimate and popular political representatives of Muslims in America. Polls show these groups have little sway among the Muslims who live in America. Also, Muslims in America are already represented in Washington by their local congressional representatives…..

Free Speech and Freedom does not include speeches of ANTI freedom and inciting destruction of our country. Thats called traitor. Freedom does not mean we welcome the destruction crew and feed, them house them, build Mosques, sell them guns and bomb materials or let them have websites to recruit! all for them to go about their business of tying us up in the straight jacket of Submission. The is not what freedom means. It also does not mean allowing nazigroups to grow or KKKlan or White Supremacists. They are not Freedom by any stretch of the imagination. These are all ANTI FREEDOMstompers. Islam is not a leftist group. Its far far radical right dictator and even worse that Nazigroups, White supremacists, KKKlan (though the KKKlan USED to operate just like them) with lynchings, tortures, rapes and whippings, selling parts of families all over the country. KKKlan was white ISIL. Everyone is so confused today there is not One put together Left or Right. There is the worst of in both. People have to dig deep in there own hears (without books, other peoples opinions, propaganda and DIG down deep in there own heart to find what what we KNOW is truth & right and hold fast We have to make a new party. But take the best of each and leave these crazies with the worst traits which they took.

So Trump did not invite the avowed enemy of America to his praising Islam Iftar dinner. Wow. Can we please raise the bar a little higher. Let’s at least aim for something rational taking into consideration that Islam is intent on world domination.
That leaves 3 choices – Submission, a Cold War or a Hot War. A Cold War will result in the least amount of bloodshed and is the easiest path to victory over this totalitarian, conquest ideology.
Just say No to Iftar dinners.
Segzy says
I have read all your comments, since this iftar posts of Trump began.
I must say that your comments, which are sincere, are not made with enough careful considerations.
These are as follow,
Muslims and Islam are two separate entities, the former being the victim of the latter. This point must be very very clear, in our fight.
You cannot fight darkness with darkness, you cannot fight a religion that doesn’t tolerate liberty, in its orthodoxy, with intolerance of its liberty.
Trump actually is doing a whole lot more than you are giving him credit for, assuming you’ve given him any at all.
He had neutered Islam to a reasonable extent, reasonable enough for guys like you to get into action and being to shine light on the evil religion, the light of the Gospel, as this is the only way Og dealing with this cancer, in any society.
I don’t know what you want Trump to do, reject the plain Diplomatic action, which must be in response to a request I assume, of one of these Islamic nations, and caused unnecessary uproar, when he can manage the situation, while not given Islam a clear and positive stance. Take it easy, we all know what Islam is like, and I live in Nigeria, my father was a Muslim, b4 he converted.
Take it easy
elee says
Sympathy with both views in this exchange but I incline to Terry Gain’s view. Islam remains inimical to the liberties of humanity, in all places and peoples. Would a statement to this effect be too much to ask? It’s not like our President got elected by Muslim votes. Why not a statement of principles?
Terry Gain says
Segzy
I was in the action – posting anti-Islam comments on a daily basis on my Facebook page for 10 years before Trump became POTUS.
I want Trump to behave like he has a clue. Stop praising this conquest ideolofg. Stop pretending that Islam is benign. Stop hosting Iftar dinners. Stand up to the enemy rather than bowing down to it.
Islam is a supremacist, violent, totalitarian ideology whose goal is to dominate the world. Every Muslim is an adherent of this ideology. Np one in America is forced to remain a member of this conquest ideoogy.
Naivete is not a virtue.
JawsV says
So right, Terry.
KJW says
You’re right, Terry. It also does no good for our presidents to say goopy things such as Islam being peacefiul and tolerant when Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and individual communities on all Islamic nations, don’t treat other religions fairly. Islam is also intolerant towards free speech, freedom of conscience (versus apostasy and blasphemy laws), and so on. I cringed when Trump said “tolerant.” Muslims notoriously drive non-Muslims out of their towns all over the world.
While many Muslims are victims of being born into a Muslim family or country, there are Muslims who really like Islam and they learn about it in schools different ways. Unfortunately the ones who learn the Quran are more aggressive. There are more than enough Muslims on Western countries that if they wanted to turn Islam on its head, denounce all the violence, hatred and discrimination in the Quran, accept that their Prophet was not perfect, etc. they could do that…other Muslims can’t kill them all. But they don’t do that-they don’t challenge all the imams, Islamic governments, etc. So, they’re not all victims. Just as Christians had to buck the church dogma in Europe, so Muslims would need to do the same, but enough don’t. Maybe they like the supremacist attitude Islam teaches, the “best of people’s,” that Allah has promised them the world…I don’t know…but plenty of Muslims are just fine with oppressing other Muslims.
I would like Trump to get the Department of Education to stop all this Islam teaching infiltration into our public schools K-12. That’s very important.
Peggy says
How do you claim that Islam is evil when you are ready to give it legitimacy by hosting these dinners?
You cannot give it ANY respect or legitimacy. It only encourages them.

Turkey president Erdogan is a bi Muslim Brotherhood supporter even giving the Ikwan (MB) hand sign in photos. I don’t know if he’s an issue with declaring them a terrorist organization but Erdogan is becoming dangerous himself; we need to get our military out of there and dump Turkey from NATO. That Erdogan has expansionist, imperialist dreams is an understatement.
The MB has fanatical violent followers overseas, here in the US they are milder such as the Muslim Students Association who make demands at universities and complain. They are MB too as well as over 10 other groups. CAIR definitely needs to go bye-bye. Jason, our FBI needs to be cleansed and they need to train people with truth. They should not be working with the double-dealing MB or CAIR groups and their affiliates. If you recall, Pbsma’s DOJ tried to scrub words such as jihad, sharia, etc. Such words are everyday usage for Muslims and jihad is a core tenet applying to all Muslims, that is jihad=the struggle against oppression, fighting against those who oppress because Allah’s law is not ruling all nations; if physical fighting is necessary then Allah is all for it.
Linda says
And, here’s another thing: MbS said he was going to get the Muslim Brotherhood out of Saudi Arabia. I wish President Trump would tell us what’s going on with MbS so that we’d know he’s o.k. after that April 21st coup or shooting of the drone…(whichever version you happen to believe).

Trump appears to be recognizing the reality that Islam is here to stay and extending an olive branch of sorts by signaling that he’s OK with “moderate Islam.” Like many here, I’m highly skeptical but understand what he’s trying to do. The irony of course is that in the eyes of the Muslim Brotherhood backed groups (who have the weight of Islamic authorities on their side), the people who attended Trump’s dinner are not Muslims.
JawsV says
The problem is there’s no “moderate” Islam. There’s only Islam.

I think Segzy is being misunderstood (take note his father was a *convert* from Islam). When Segzy says “even the *Devil* deserves his due” perhaps what he was trying to say was that the *People* deserve their due – he feels they’re very brainwashed and thus seems to hope we’d give them some “charity” and patience as mere, fallible mortals like ourselves (though we DO prefer to think of them as genetic anomalies).
Promptly turning fickle on Trump would just add to concocted hullabaloos. Our nations are supposedly “backtracking” to Nationalism and Populism (?) and for good reasons – and so it appears the common man is actually more savvy than we’ve been heretofore led to believe.
Stefan Molyneux has a disturbing video out about the financial trouble Western nations are in and how importing and keeping muslims makes no sense at all – except perhaps to shield our incompetent, greedy culprits from exposure for as long as possible:

I think you’ll find that the whole point of this event was to send a signal to (and about) the uninvited who would certainly have expected an invite from Obama.- it was held more so that Trump could very publicly NOT invite CAIR / ISNA / ICNA / IMPAC etc, than to schmooze those countries who are already “making nice” with the Trump administration.

“The Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliates are enemies to America, enemies to democracy, and to the West.”
Very true. The Muslim Brotherhood is a problem. But the Muslim Brotherhood isn’t THE problem. Islam is THE problem. As long as politicians don’t possess the moral courage to face this reality and act upon it the US is in danger from islam. Declaring the MB a terrorist organization should be done, but it won’t stop the advance of islam in the West.

It’s the infidels job to confront Islam at every opportunity. Ridicule & belittle without fail. Islam is evil in nature & must be exposed. Mo was an evil genius & started a club 4 deviants. Charlie says
Glad to see the nuanced rejection of political Islam. The Caliphate is gone and its going to stay that way. The tenets of political Islam are an anachronism. Once again the religious versus political conflict is won with a very nice Iftar celebration. Trump is taking a nuanced stance and I see more and more Muslims freeing their minds from this supremacist ideology.
JawsV says
“I see more and more Muslims freeing their minds from this supremacist ideology.”
You got to be kidding! It’s just the opposite.
eduardo odraude says
What is your evidence that “more and more” Muslims are freeing themselves from supremacist ideology? How can a Muslim become free from the example of Muhammad as described in the Qur’an, Hadith, and Sira? The only way as a Muslim to become free of Muhammad’s example is to abandon Islam, because in Islam Muhammad is the prime and best exemplar. In Sahih Bukhari, the most canonical hadith collection, Muhammad says, “If someone changes his Islamic religion, then kill him.” That kind of totalitarianism was not exceptional for Muhammad. How does a Muslim — at any rate a religious Muslim — abandon Muhammad and remain a Muslim? How does water abandon wetness and remain water?
Wellington says
You are far more an optimist, Charlie, than I am about this “matter.” The only really sane, defensible and smart thing to do if one is a Muslim is to realize that the whole damn religion is rotten to the core and so leave it (which carries with it its own danger, which only demonstrates all the more why Islam is execrable and why any reformation of Islam is as foolish an endeavor as trying to make for a kinder, gentler, more humanitarian Nazism or Marxism).
Islam is quite arguably the single greatest burden to mankind over the longest period of time. It cannot be reformed and believing that Islam can be OK without being supremacist, totalitarian, misogynist, etc., is a belief which simply cannot be sustained by reference to such things as facts, history, common sense and moral intelligence.
Carol the 1st says
That last paragraph should be on banners.
Wellington says
Interesting the varied takes on Trump hosting this dinner at the White House. Folks I have come to respect here at JW have taken opposite opinions here while usually agreeing with each other in general on Islam (for my money the worst religion ever created by man, easily so). Hmmm.
Well, I certainly don’t like the idea of bending to Muslim expectations, wishes or demands, but Trump is his own man and he often thinks on various levels at the same time. So, I’m going to give him a pass on this Iftar dinner and see what happens. He may be pursuing some kind of divide and conquer policy (already mentioned by some here at JW). And don’t as well neither forget what Trump has said about Islam in the past, e.g., in March of 2016 stating, “I think Islam hates us,” and that someone or something he praises on a given day he might later condemn (e.g., saying good things about Comey when he first became President but then firing him and calling him a liar or extending approbation of Chinese policy one day and then severely criticizing it on another day).
Trump is mercurial in a good way (reminds me in this regard of the great Queen, Elizabeth I of England); it’s one of many reasons why he gets things done, so, as I have already noted, I will “wait out” this “incident” at the White House for a while. Also I would like to mention that it was said of Nelson Rockefeller, both Governor and Vice-President, that the more he praised you the more you were in danger of being fired by him. Damn, politics is such a fun game at times, no?
Peggy says
I truly hope that it’s divide and conquer going on here.
It just scares me to think that Trump can give Islam any legitimacy because to give it any respect is only strengthening their belief that Islam is not bad.
If we are to drive the point to them, we must let them know that Islam is not acceptable at all and hosting a dinner at the WH is giving it some respect.
If Trump wants to divide them and if there is any chance of that then yes, swallow this bitter pill and do it.
I hope it works.
Terry Gain says
“He may be pursuing some kind of divide and conquer policy (already mentioned by some here at JW).”
He’s doing a great job of dividing opposition to Islam. Some folks here actually believe Islam can be appeased. 1396 years of Islamic history isn’t enough for some to understand Islam.
Wellington says
Appeasement and a divide and conquer approach are two different things. Besides, I meant what Trump may be up to is something tactical, not strategic.
Keys says
Perhaps Trump is purposely making “fake news” but not calling it “fake news”.
No doubt Trump would rather have been “home” rather than hosting an iftard (sic) dinner. So that dinner had some purpose or purposes. [Consider he had the balls to disinvite the Eagle football team, and he had the same in not hosting an iftard (sic) last year].

Why hold an iftar dinner for Muslims at all? Why should the US – or any other democratic country – appease Muslims?
