Islamic supremacists traffic in intimidation in attempting to silence their foes and all critics of jihad terror. Far from being defamed, after his false claim Ahmed Mohamed was showered with adulation from “Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton and Google co-founder Sergey Brin,” while “Tweets, think pieces and daytime TV segments were dedicated to dissecting how Ahmed’s situation typified racism and Islamaphobia [sic] in America,” and he “visited the Google Science Fair, met with Sudan’s President Omar al Bashir, posed with the queen of Jordan at a United Nations Summit, appeared on the ‘Doctor Oz’ show and last night, made it to the White House.”
Ahmed Mohamed became the darling of the political and media elites and met Obama. He was celebrated everywhere as an innocent victim of “Islamophobia.” He became an international hero. His lawsuit was a naked attempt to continue the intimidation efforts that his clock represented. His clock, which looked like a suitcase bomb, was a strike against the dictum “If you see something, say something”: after Ahmed’s clock, school officials and others will think twice before committing career suicide by questioning suspicious behavior by Muslims. After that, Ahmed and his family moved in for the kill, trying to intimidate people into not even daring to criticize Muslims who engage in these intimidation tactics, for fear of being slapped with a lawsuit.
“Appeals Court: Dismissal of Clock Boy’s Defamation Lawsuit Affirmed; Award of AFLC Lawyers’ Fees Affirmed,” American Freedom Law Center, July 11, 2018:
Dallas, Texas (July 11, 2018) – Late today, the Texas Court of Appeals for the Fifth District in Dallas affirmed the trial court’s ruling dismissing in its entirety a defamation lawsuit filed by Mohamed Mohamed on his own behalf and on behalf of his 15-year old son, Ahmed Mohamed. Ahmed is better known as “Clock Boy” for bringing a hoax clock bomb to his Irving, Texas middle school in September 2015 and causing a bomb scare that led to his arrest and suspension from school.
The motion to dismiss was filed by lawyers from the American Freedom Law Center (“AFLC”) and local counsel Pete Rowe on behalf of the Center for Security Policy (“CSP”) and Jim Hanson, two of the defendants in the defamation case, which also named as defendants Ben Shapiro, the local Fox affiliate, Glenn Beck, and Beck’s production company. All claims against all defendants were ultimately dismissed. AFLC (and Mr. Rowe) also represented CSP and Hanson on the appeal. The appeals court not only affirmed the dismissal but affirmed the award of nearly $200,000 for attorney’s fees and costs, including AFLC’s $67,238.50 in legal fees at the trial level and $130,000 in conditional legal fees for the appellate work.
Mohamed had sued Hanson and CSP for statements Hanson had made on Beck’s program about the connection between the Clock Boy hoax bomb affair and the attendant media frenzy created in large part by his father Mohamed, and how this was all part of civilization jihad driven by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (“CAIR”), the Muslim Brotherhood-Hamas front group in the United States that promotes civilization jihad through lawsuits.
The Texas appeals court specifically ruled that Mohamed had not made out a case for defamation because CSP and Hanson had based their statements in large part on the involvement of CAIR, which the court noted, quoting first Shapiro and then Hanson, was “an organization . . . the federal government had linked to Islamic terrorist supporters as an unindicted co-conspirator in a terrorism case.” The court also noted that “CAIR is known to be an Islamist organization with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas.”
Following the appeals court ruling, AFLC co-founder and senior counsel David Yerushalmi explained:
“The purpose of this CAIR-driven lawsuit was to intimidate into silence those who might comment publicly on the connection between jihad, terrorism, sharia, and Islam.”
Yerushalmi added,
“This case was a classic Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation or ‘SLAPP’ case and should never have been filed. The Texas courts have confirmed this once and for all.”
Robert Muise, AFLC’s other co-founder and senior counsel, made clear:
“AFLC was formed in large measure to take on Islamists like CAIR who use and abuse the legal system with their cynical form of lawfare to undermine our constitutional liberties—notably free speech. We have confronted these lawsuits across the country in federal and state courts and have defeated CAIR and its minions at every turn. When appropriate, we have won sanctions. This lawsuit has proven to be no different. We will continue to confront CAIR and other Islamists organizations in any and all legal fora.”
mortimer says
He defamed himself by creating what to any normal person would appear to be a bomb.
It was a shameful provocation obviously concocted by the boy’s father.
The only way this child can clear his reputation is to forthrightly confess that his father put him up to it and abjectly and sincerely apologize.
The provocation was meant to shame Americans for their supposed bigotry. It has done the reverse by creating the impression that Muslims are all jihadists and that they are slimy, manipulative, prevaricating terrorists.
“Terrorism … what terrorism? Oh… THAT terrorism! Ha, ha … just joking! Say, you must be Islamophobic.”

I could be wrong, but I think he and his family returned to Texas, not finding Sudan to their liking.

The family actually moved to Qatar, ostensibly for the boy’s education, but decided the good ol’ US of A was better for their planned lawsuits. Looks like that decision will set them back a couple of hundred grand.

Much praise and credit, and thanks, also to Robert Muise and David Yerushalmi of AFDI.
They are doing an excellent job.

This case, being so high profile, should be a major step backwards for false claims of prejudice against muslims. Hurray for the AFLC and Freedom of Speech.

So why aren’t the Tech Giants, after plying the “wunderkind” with rewards and praise, offering a summer internship and a job upon graduation? Surely he must be another Elon Musk.
A look at Google and Yahoo current news pages reveals no stories about the appeals court ruling; avoiding their complicity, in an Islamic punking, like the plague. Who would now say, “This could be my son”?
Will the media be wiser in the future? Will the court costs be paid? Same answer?

Yeah, where the hell is all of the mainstream media coverage on this?
The interest in following the legal voyage of this young hoaxter and his scheming, fraud-committing father has now curiously vanished. They have vanished like murder witnesses on a Karachi street corner.
But that will not make for much of a story.either.
Where is Oprah? Where are all of the prying eyes of the media?
They are nowhere to be found.

I think they all eventually realized they were being gamed.

Then the brainwashing of the young ones begin with taquiya….
Shameful!

I disagree. This was as egregious an abuse as it gets and the Islamic Supremacists lost nothing. While they did not win, this time, there are no sanctions on anyone involved (not even the smidgen of a judge stating for the record that the device was a very realistic looking bomb and with the fears of the day-of terrorists bringing in military explosives-had the bomb been real to the maximum capabilities within the depicted device it could have destroyed most of the school and perhaps most of the students therein-therefor police fears were not unjustified) And no repayment of legal expenses let alone damages or multipliers!!!
I believe the case victory was given away when nobody built and Youtubed a video of such a bomb built to maximum destruction within the single photo offered of the device. With what we saw during the interval it would have been complicated.
FPS was prosecuted when they had the proper license for explosives but that did not cover video for profit (????)
So start with somebody with a video for profit site
Partner with 1) somebody with a plastic explosive license and 2) somebody else who makes police bomb squad training videos for sale. Hint the Hollywood companies licensed to do both would not work with anybody for fear of losing Leftist movie business, as they would. Company 1) would get paid and company 2) would make a police bomb squad defusing/recognizing movie for sale and this would be the ad/teaser for that sale. Both companies might also get a cut of the viewership proceeds. One such device “shown” killing every “dummy” in that classroom and maybe also the hallway and classrooms on either side would have the P.R. battle won despite how the media coverage. Another such device in the school cafeteria inflicting similar damage, and a much higher presumed body count, would have every case filed either thrown out or the judges who accepted those cases laughed at in every C.E. class or symposium they participated in.
Go back to the Alynsky rules, laughter of ridicule is powerful. None was even attempted that I saw.

That is very good advice. Thank you.

I too like your revision of the acronym for CAIR, and it’s more accurate. I hope you don’t mind people using it and spreading it around which will annoy CAIR. They can try suing tons of people for defamation, lol. This group shouldn’t exist but they would just reform under another name. Their director Nihad “Jihad” Awad is persistent. In fact, I don’t know an honest Muslim organization – seems like they are are funneling finds to some bad people or misappropriating then and getting 501(C)3 tax-exempt status. Also bad is taxpayers’ money being used to help fund some mosques as was done under Obama.

I don’t think that these events were spontaneous. I believe that the kid’s father planned it, knowing that he would be given favorable press coverage, and a warm reception in the Obama Muslim-oriented White House.
Indiana Tom says
Probably several people planned this little gem.
KJW says
CAIR was probably involved. They’ve encouraged other provocative moves by Muslims. A Muslim woman who worked at a Catholic school wore a hijab one day without running it by her supervisor; they fired her. She was quoted as saying, “CAIR said it was Ok” [to do]. Other things such as organizing a Muslim prayer in a Christian Church; young Muslim girls interviewed outside said CAIR organized it. A school in my state was going to have a Muslim woman extol Islam’s positive treatment of women to 9th graders and parents were outraged as there would be no counter view, and it’s violating separation of church and state. The school moved the talk to an outside venue as well as a rabbi who was to talk. That too was CAIR organized. A long time ago I tweeted to CAIR that they are hurting Muslims, but they don’t care. They are very snakey people.

THE BIGGEST CULPRIT HERE IN THE CLOCK BOY SAGA IS NONE OTHER THAN THE CLOSET JEHAADI AKA OBAMA.,.. HE was the inciter and enabler of all these fake law suits. He would be a very anguished man today because of this loss and his long term scheme of Islamizing America and surely will be cursing and ranting and raving the same Americans who elected him to the highest office of their land in good faith NOT ONCE BUT TWICE!!! But then Obama will HAVE NO GRATITUDE as any typical taqiyya spewing Muslim..
KJW says
I voted for Obama the first time, nobody the second. His “We’ll change how business is done in Washington” seemed hopeful if not impossible. I missed the “…fundamentally change America” quote and the comment in his book. What is also egregious to me is his talking about Jim Crow laws and that things have gotten better while he was promoting Islam while, 1) imams/Muslims are still justifying slavery in Africa, 2) Arabs are quite racist, 3) the Prophet owned slaves, 3) Islamic laws are totalitarian. What black American would want to live under another yoke of discrimination as well as the rest of us?
Then he made lists of music he listens to which included jazz and the 50s when Qutb came here and insulted blacks and their music and “desire for noise.” Blacks have been essential to American music in a huge way. Islam is no fun-they made no music and dancing loved worldwide. What Obama really thinks, who knows, but he repeated things straight out of the Euro-Arab dialogue…all that rosy Islamic history and how Muslims have been a part of America even designing skyscrapers? What skyscrapers? There’s always this generalized talk about alleged accomplishments without saying what exactly such as I read in a professor’s book,e.g., Muslims established universities centuries ago but he did not name them.
infidel says
OBAMA’s scheme of mass importing murderous Muslims to the MIDWEST and other parts of idyllic rural American heartland is NOTHING BUT A PLOY TO DESTROY THE CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN VOTER BASE IN THEIR OWN BACKYARD!!!! Now expect pockets of HARDCORE democrats coming up in the rural American MUSLIM GHETTOS of Maine and MN… GOD ALONE SAVE AMERICA..
Mark says
“Ahmed is better known as “Clock Boy” for bringing a hoax clock bomb to his Irving” Actually he’s known for bringing a clock to school which an idiot thought was a bomb
Norger says
Yes of course. “Clocks” always have digital displays placed inside briefcases, with wires sticking out all over the place. Intentionally or not (and I think it was 100% intentional) the young “inventor’s” disassembled clock placed inside a briefcase looked just like a bomb. When the authorities were called, school officials knew the device wasn’t in fact a bomb, but as noted above, it looked like one (I.e. it was a hoax bomb). Given the random student perpetrated violence that has been happening in our schools for some time now, it would have been idiocy for any school not to respond appropriately to this. A hoax bomb in a school is a serious matter; the kid thoroughly deserved the suspension he got. His father is a POS.

So Clock Boy wasn’t too bothered about being expelled from school but was bothered by what representatives of rich corporations had to say! I think I’ve seen this movie before. It sounds a lot like legalized extortion. All that is needed is a half-witted judge somewhere.
KJW says
Even a teenager m owns what Clock Boy did was wrong and could scare people. I knew from the start there was something fishy. Media, Hollywood folks, et. al., have been so quick to go into a feeding frenzy over things like this before they have more details. Then when it’s a hoax they don’t discuss how these hoaxes affect attitudes about Muslims and it creates a “boy who cried wolf” effect. They are so quick to bash so-called Islamophobics or discrimination against Muslims that they look like fools and don’t talk about his meeting with a cruel dictator in a country Sudan that has killed and enslaved hundreds of thousands of Sudanese, mainly South Sudanese. People could probably use a reminder of what happened in the 90s. Andrew Bostam has a good chapter about it in his book.
In fact, last year when there was a terrorist attack in Egypt (not of Christians) some Egyptian complained it wasn’t in mainstream news (it certainly was). All these white liberals jumped on it deriding their own skin color with their phony sympathy while having said nothing about the numerous daily attacks in Africa including slavery. Then if you say they were Christian people attacked they are silent when Christians in Africa are mostly black! The Copts are equal to Arabs who are white.
I’m glad Robert frequently notes this hypocrisy but we should be louder about that and shame them since they live the shaming game.
