Jihad Watch

Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Catholic bishop Jaime Soto denounces “campaign of terror being forced upon families at the border”

Jul 1, 2018 4:00 pm By Robert Spencer

This is not just about the Southern border. Jihad Watch reported last April that “the U.S. Catholic bishops submitted a brief to the Supreme Court declaring that President Donald Trump’s ban on migration from five Muslim countries was ‘blatant religious discrimination.’”

Is it really?

And do the U.S. Catholic bishops feel any obligation to support measures that would protect Americans from jihad attacks? Apparently not. The message that the bishops are sending to Americans is simple: drop dead. The U.S. Catholic bishops appear to be absolutely unconcerned about the following facts: Somali Muslim migrant Mohammad Barry in February 2016 stabbed multiple patrons at a restaurant owned by an Israeli Arab Christian; Ahmad Khan Rahami, an Afghan Muslim migrant, in September 2016 set off bombs in New York City and New Jersey; Arcan Cetin, a Turkish Muslim migrant, in September 2016 murdered five people in a mall in Burlington, Washington; Dahir Adan, another Somali Muslim migrant, in October 2016 stabbed mall shoppers in St. Cloud while screaming “Allahu akbar”; and Abdul Razak Artan, yet another Somali Muslim migrant, in November 2016 injured nine people with car and knife attacks at Ohio State University. 72 jihad terrorists have come to the U.S. from the countries listed in Trump’s initial immigration ban.

What’s more, all of the jihadis who murdered 130 people in Paris in November 2015 had just entered Europe as refugees. In February 2015, the Islamic State boasted it would soon flood Europe with as many as 500,000 refugees. The Lebanese Education Minister said in September 2015 that there were 20,000 jihadis among the refugees in camps in his country. On May 10, 2016, Patrick Calvar, the head of France’s DGSI internal intelligence agency, said that the Islamic State was using migrant routes through the Balkans to get jihadis into Europe.

The bishops have never expressed any concern about any of this. They are completely in line with Pope Francis, who has claimed risibly that “authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence.” This has become a superdogma in the Catholic Church: if you don’t believe that Islam is a Religion of Peace, you will be ruthlessly harassed and silenced by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and the hierarchy elsewhere as well. The bishops of the Catholic Church are much more concerned that you believe that Islam is a religion of peace than that you believe in, say, the Nicene Creed. And so what possible reason could there be to be concerned about these “refugees”? It’s a religion of peace!

The bishops, of course, have 91 million reasons — indeed, 534 million reasons — to turn against the truth and disregard the safety and security of the American people: “In the Fiscal Year 2016, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) received more than $91 million in government funding for refugee resettlement. Over the past nine years, the USCCB has received a total of $534,788,660 in taxpayer dollars for refugee resettlement programs.”

And now, with Catholics all over the country, some quite prominent, publicly denying basic aspects of the Catholic Faith, the U.S. bishops are considering barring people from communion for their political views.

“Leave them; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14)

“Chaplains of the Left,” by Lloyd Billingsley, FrontPage, June 29, 2018:

“The sounds and sights of young immigrants and their families being forcibly separated at the border is a gut-wrenching human tragedy,” writes the Rev. Jaime Soto, Bishop of the Diocese of Sacramento. “The current administration has orchestrated this catastrophe, unmoved by the howling human cost.” The bishop decries “scenes of young infants yanked from their mothers’ arms” in a “campaign of terror being forced upon families at the border.”

And so on, except for the substitution of “yanked” for “ripped,” the Rev. Soto borrows the boilerplate rhetoric of leftist Democrats and parrots their borderless agenda as well. He says “the welfare of children and families should be non-negotiable” but readers might wonder.

The administration of POTUS 44 deported thousands of illegals and separated children from their parents, putting them in the care of crony profiteers from the National Council of La Raza. The Rev. Soto, whose diocese includes one million parishioners in 20 counties, kept rather quiet about that, but he’s eager to target the Trump administration and its “campaign of terror.”

Thousands of parents in Mexico and Central American have broken up their own families and placed minor children, many pre-teens, in the hands of criminal smugglers. That is child abuse on a massive scale, but the Rev. Soto spares the delinquent parents any moral criticism. So the reader could believe he approves of family breakup.

Human trafficking is a serious crime but the Rev. Soto does not subject these criminals to condemnation or criticism. Readers might wonder why this Roman Catholic Bishop looks the other way at this vile trade.

The default explanation of the open-border crowd is that Central American minors and adults alike are fleeing repression and violence in their own countries. The Rev. Jaime Soto issues no condemnation of governments in Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador, and names no repressive policies that might prompt people to flee.

Mexico has been a virtual one-party state since the 1920s and not exactly a model for democracy and human rights. But if the Mexican government ever did anything with which the Rev. Soto disagrees, it does not emerge with any clarity.

Many Central Americans claim to be fleeing gang violence, but the Rev. Soto issues no criticism of the murderous Salvadoran MS-13 gang. If the fear of gang violence is real, the Rev. Soto does not make the case why any Central American should therefore move to the United States when they would be safe in many other countries.

The Rev. Soto appears to believe that all Central Americans, and by extension all people in the world, have a right to live in the United States, and that the massive influx of unskilled workers is an unalloyed blessing for the United States. The Rev. Soto does not denounce document fraud, hardly a victimless crime. So observers could be forgiven for believing the he does not hold the rule of law in high esteem. The Bishop also seems unaware that false-documented illegals commit crimes.

In 2014, previously deported Mexican national Luis Bracamontes gunned down police officers Danny Oliver and Michael Davis. This took place right in Sacramento, in the Rev. Soto’s parish, but the Mexican’s conviction on murder charges did not move the bishop to compose a  commentary condemning the killer, nor to express sympathy for the victims….

Don’t confuse the Catholic Church whose purity depends only on the purity of Christ, with those inside the Church who are trying to destroy her, because in truth they hate her.

If you want to see a bona fide miracle simply look to the Church. No, human institution could survive with so many enemies on the outside and the inside. Yet, here she is still producing saints. That is all the evidence any sane person would ever need to know that Catholic Church is the Church that Christ built.

You are as delusional as your priests. The RC church was not established until Christianity was declared the official religion of the Roman Empire 200 years after the alleged crucifiction, of which there is not verifiable proof anyway. Had that not happened Christianity would have faded into history. The Roman Empire is the reason it survived. JHC is dead and gone and is not coming back. Get over it and start living in the 21st century. You are as bad as the Muslims with their myths.

As a Catholic, I understand the frustration of those outside our Church. It really hurts, when bishops are aloof to reality. There is a simple explanation to this.
Many of them come from protective environments.
          They associate with elites.
Many of them do no know what it is to work hard, to educate, feed, provide clothing and adequate accommodation.
          To protect your family.

There are many priest bishops, cardinal, lay people, who have had this experience, who work in the ditches, with the hardships of daily life, who know the political dangers, who will sacrifice themselves for Christ the King and His people.

Unfortunately the MSM, will not allow them to occupy any platform, however they provide it for bishops, who fit in with their narrative.

So we Catholics need to understand those outside and do our best to support those without the platform.

          Go well with JMJ

Amen! The Catholic church which Christ founded, and read the early church fathers, and discover what they said about the Catholic church, if you don’t believe me, is truly heaven on earth!
It is unfortunate that some on the inside and those on the outside want to destroy her, but Jesus said the ” Gates of hell shall not prevail against her!”
The Catholic church has always had it’s predators from within. Judas was the first one, but he couldn’t destroy it, either will any bishop’s!

Catholic priests, protestant ministers, Rabbis and other religious leaders should be reading and studying their Bibles, especially The books of Ezekiel, Daniel, and Revelations.
Find out where Islam stands in world events..present and future……
None needs to be getting into political rhetoric..They need to be preaching the word about the end times and where Islam stands in the this time.
I agree with separation of church and state and free speech and that throws a wrench into the works when religious leaders preach political policy instead of preaching what SATAN is doing in the world today and what should be done to
overcome Satan….Too many preachers today (Religious Leaders) are too religiously politically correct and afraid to preach “hell fire and damnation” and also to preach on Satan’s interferences.
In other words ministers are just preaching to “itching ears” and we just sit there and say nothing letting our ears hear what we want to hear…but not what is the TRUTH..Satan is alive and doing well in Islam.

Islam is not only a religious issue a political one, but also a moral one that is unquestionably evil.

Every country has the right to protect is citizens and protect its borders from illegal entry,

From the late soon to become a saint, American Cardinal:

“The refusal to take sides on great moral issues is itself a decision. It is a silent acquiescence to evil. The Tragedy of our time is that those who still believe in honesty lack fire and conviction, while those who believe in dishonesty are full of passionate conviction.”

It might profit those who suddenly became of Islamic evil in the last 17 years, is to remember that Catholics have never ceased to be aware of this threat.

” Today (1950), the hatred of the Moslem countries against the West is becoming hatred against Christianity itself. Although the statesmen have not yet taken it into account, there is still grave danger that the temporal power of Islam may return and, with it, the menace that it may shake off a West which has ceased to be Christian, and affirm itself as a great anti-Christian world Power.”

In the USA alone in 2014 alone Catholic charities made easy million dollars from the American taxpayer and not in donations but in fees. It appears the catholic Church is just a multinational business making huge profits using any means including abandoning their own question flock to Muslim murders worldwide. You can call it big business, but it’s also big charity – the largest in the world, when you combine all the various Catholic charitable organizations they operate around the world, including hospitals, orphanages, schools, etc. I think the unqualified aid to migrants is misguided and rooted in the policy of helping poor and oppressed. That needs to reexamined in light of the threat of Islamic extremists.

Yes, where is the bishop’s condemnation for the terror causing people to leave their homes and go to the U.S. What terror is causing this immigration problem? The bishop doesn’t say. Why is it not a sin to break the laws of the U.S. and enter illegally? If the laws need to be changed the bishop should support legislation to get the laws changed and until then he should stop encouraging people to break the law. The bishop is encouraging people to sin which in itself is a sin and he should not be permitted to distribute communion until he has confessed his sin and repented.

    • WESTPAC Spy says

      Jul 2, 2018 at 9:28 am

No, when a bishop encourages others to sin it’s not merely sin. It’s scandal.

      “Catechism of the Catholic Church

2241 The more prosperous nations are obliged, to the extent they are able, to welcome the foreigner in search of the security and the means of livelihood which he cannot find in his country of origin. Public authorities should see to it that the natural right is respected that places a guest under the protection of those who receive him.

Political authorities, for the SAKE OF THE COMMON GOOD for which they are responsible, may make the exercise of the right to immigrate SUBJECT TO VARIOUS JURIDICIAL CONDITIONS, especially with regard to the immigrants’ duties toward their country of adoption. IMMIGRANTS ARE OBLIGED TO RESPECT WITH GRATITUDE THE MATERIAL AND SPIRITUAL HERITAGE of the country that receives them, TO OBEY ITS LAWS and to assist in carrying civic burdens.”

Congratulate me. I’m now more Catholic than the Pope. One of his first acts was to visit Lampedusa, perhaps Italy’s most southernmost island. And he praised the Muslim invaders. The Lampedusans meanwhile have to put up with the constant threat of pillage and rape by these people. “What about us?” they asked. Crickets from the Vatican.

You won’t get the full Catholic catechism for dirtbags like Jaime Soto. They don’t believe in it. So now where do I go? I’m not a Protestant. I still believe it.

I can’t tell you how disgusted I’ve become.

2284 Scandal is an attitude or behavior which leads another to do evil. The person who gives scandal becomes his neighbor’s tempter. He damages virtue and integrity; he may even draw his brother into spiritual death. Scandal is a grave offense if by deed or omission another is deliberately led into a grave offense. “

It truly is disgusting. Why is it immoral for a country to have laws concerning the process for crossing its borders? I see no problem with immigration laws unless they cause an individual to commit some sort of sin. I don’t think any of the laws of the U.S. do that and if they do I ask the bishop please to tell me which sin or sins would I be committing if I obeyed one of these “immoral” laws. Laws are necessary for the operation of a civilized society. Does being poor give a person the right to go into my home just because it looks really nice? Would it be right to accuse me of being a sinner if I got upset about that and called the police? I don’t think so. The person entering my home without my permission would be the one breaking God’s commandment against coveting. If he ate my food and used my belongings without asking my permission he would also be breaking the commandment against stealing. Would I be the sinner if I demanded others to ASK before taking or making use of what is mine? NO! God recognizes my rights of ownership. Oh, I think the bishop needs to go back and read the Ten Commandments again and start encouraging people to follow and respect ALL of them and STOP giving people the idea that it is okay to break some of them sometimes if life gets too uncomfortable for us.

You do realize that most of these “families” are not “families” in the first place.
And I’d stop here to say, in the last five months, we have a 314 percent increase in adults and children arriving at the border, fraudulently claiming to be a family unit.
So I want to be clear on a couple other things. The vast majority — vast, vast majority — of children who are in the care of HHS right now — 10,000 of the 12,000 — were sent here alone by their parents. That’s when they were separated. So somehow, we’ve conflated everything.

Spain colonized South America, Central America, and parts of North America. Many of the natives before Spain arrived were raiding each other villages, human cannibalism was common, slavery was wide spread among different tribes .When the Spanish invaders arrived they did exploit the natives , but European diseases kill more natives then warfare .After interbreeding with natives central governments brought some order to the southern Americas, the Catholic church replace violent religions of the Americas .It did not push slavery a common practice 500 years ago ,the “ghetto plantation” remains in effect today because of the government that run these countries to this day. The Catholic church effect on the governments today in the Americas is very small compared to its influence 500 years ago .The drug cartels have much more influence over the people living there and the government ruling there. Most violence, payoffs to government officials , common people living in fear for there lives ,human sex trade is tied to drug cartels with no link to any church in the Southern Americas . The ghettos down there are created like the ghettos in North America by the people running the country.

South American governments that are really corrupt have nothing to do with the Catholic religion Catholic rules and law are not written into their language of practice of government ,Islam does tries to apply Sharia law when ever it gets the upper hand. Catholic rules only apply to Catholics, there is no rules commanding Catholics in the church to slay, rape , and steal from unbelievers. There is no woman of the right hand in Catholic rules and regulation. It is not OK to do honor killing by Catholic rules and regulation. Italy, Hungry , Poland,France have a lot of Catholics in their history they must be very corrupt bad places to live because of the Catholic or ex-Catholic there??America has a lot of Catholics not the majority of the country but a lot look at all the trouble they cause in America ,have they been blowing up buildings there in Catholic churches name Look at all the terrorist activity the Catholic church preaches and pushes world wide? Look at all the priest and bishops calling for death of unbelievers??What rot the Catholic church has a lot of faults but it is not pushing violent overthrow of the Western world, it is not pushing sex slavery, it is not violently subjugating the unbeliever as part and of it mission .It is not preaching the killing Jews, Hindus and others of different faiths as part of its mission. Are there violent evil people who call themselves Catholic yes ,but their behavior is not sanction by the leaders of the church or the churches teaching.

I’m all too familiar with the witless Bishop Jaime Soto–the Diocese of Sacramento is not all that far from y neck of the woods. He wants immigrants to flood into the US from everywhere, completely unvetted.

Here he is, demanding that we take in Syrian Muslims, despite his back-handed acknowledgement that Islam was behind the Paris Jihad terror attacks:

“…The savage terror afflicted on the people of Paris has shocked our souls. Still, this should not blind us to the plight of families and children seeking a refuge of mercy. Nor should it dissuade us from exercising our freedom for the sake of what is good, just, and noble.”

And for the US bishops to denounce a restriction on Muslim immigration is total ignorance of history. Muslims have been attacking, enslaving and conquering Christian nations for 1400 years. In fact, the Dark Ages were caused by Muslim pirates and kidnappers…not by the Gothic barbarian invasions who converted to Christianity and adopted Roman customs when they moved into Roman territory.

Question to informed Catholics: on the Islam issue, do the leaders of the Church have to follow the pope’s lead? I guess the pope can order a Catholic official, on pain of excommunication, to stop teaching from positions the pope deems “un-Catholic” — I’m just wondering why there seems a fair amount of unanimity, at least in what I’ve seen, among Catholic officials supporting Islam. What percentage of Catholic officials’ support for Islam comes from Catholic doctrine and history? And what percentage comes mostly from the particular pope’s predilections? If the next pope is Islam-critical, will we see most Catholic officials turn on a dime and become Islam-critical?

    • Joe says

      Jul 2, 2018 at 4:58 am

I’ll answer the first question. No, Catholics can not teach against Catholic Dogma, but outside the Nicene Creed, most Catholics know very little of dogma. The pope can declare dogma, but the current pope has not declared any. This link shows a list of some of the dogma.

      http://www.restorationpeople.org/B-1.html

In addition, the current pope, is in a major scandal with Pope Benedict hanging around the Vatican, wearing white, calling himself pope, and participating in liturgy reserved only for the pope. The Church can’t have two popes. In the face of this issue, if Pope Francis (assuming he is actually pope) declared dogma, it would come with a big question mark. By Catholic law, Francis needs to deal with Benedict, if Francis is actually pope. Without resolving that issue, Francis has to be considered an imposture by all Catholics.

In other words, Catholics are bound to the dogma of the Faith, they have never declared themselves to be bound by the Pope’s opinions. There is no dogma that supports Islam, but Catholics have pages, if not chapters, that condemn Islam. For example, consider “Summa Contra Gentiles” by Thomas Aquinas. It is everything known to be in error with Islam, and my set is broken into 4 books. That was the compilation of known error with Islam at the time of Aquinas. The scope of known error in Islam would be much greater by now.

If the likes of Bella Dodd and Alice and Dietrich von Hildebrandt are to be believed, there was a concerted effort in the 1930s and following by the Communist Party to infiltrate the hierarchy of the Catholic Church. Given the ascendance of innovations like “liberation theology,” the “seamless garment of social justice,” the watering-down of liturgy and stridency in witnessing to the faith, I would say that the Communists have been overwhelmingly successful.

Consider the Jesuits: Once the shock troops of orthodoxy and clear thinking, they now are a bog of moral relativist propaganda. Bishop Sheil in the Archdiocese of Chicago was very quick to make common cause with Saul Alinsky, albeit not to the great pleasure of Cardinals Mundelein and Stritch, succeeding prelates in the Chicago Archdiocese.

There is much rot in the Church. That it was so deliberately attacked points to its former potency in resisting the forces of the left. Is it completely impotent now? As a faithful Catholic, I would say “No,” with God all things are possible. But I have no clear human sight of God’s workings to sort out this mess. Prayer is always a good thing, for clarity, for discernment and for fortitude when called to action.

    Pray.

Ah, the perfect place to share the fact that God supports national borders!

“…and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation…” Acts 17; 26

“Do not move the ancient boundary Which your fathers have set.” Proverbs 22; 28

    Humans should respect them too!

Taking into consideration how much money they were making for all that illegal immigration (“sanctuary cities and places”), it should surprise no one. So now of course they are against ANY measures to address that problem and flood their churches with ocean of crocodile tears about “poor and prosecuted” immigrants. Perhaps is the time to start to prosecute them as a criminal syndicate: many hidden secrets would come into open. Conspiring against one’s country is treason. They ABUSE their so called “religious rights and privileges.”

“lies, lies, we can’t believe a word they say.” (Thanks to the Knickerbockers.)

First of all, the adults who made the trip, knew they would not be given a free ticket to cross over. They shouted and put their fists in the air and said they would not be stopped.

The mother of the little kid who was photographed crying…had been sent home before, years ago, and left her husband and other children back home to fend for themselves while she risked the safety of her daughter to enter again, illegally. .

The adults are forcing the children. That’s the “forcing.” And this guy, who is supposed to be a “spiritual” leader, is a money-grubbing liar.

Our Father in Heaven will hold everyone accountable and those who have “been given more” are under obligation to “give more.” This guy is stealing from “the flock.” He should know what will be the result for him personally.

The bishops get their orders from the Pope ,the Catholic church is not run like a democratic government ,it,s people in change bishops, Cardinals ,ect are under the rules of following the Pope without questioning his authority like the army. The current Pope has put a SJW communist bend to the church putting his politics above the teaching of the church. When the church puts if flock safety at risk for the sake of taking government money to bring in people who want to destroy the church and enslave the Christian people. The current leadership of the Catholic church is failing its core mission defending the faith and protecting its flock .

He is more afraid of losing money in not taking in refugees ,and trying to make rich people poor and siding with his communist slant on like.

The facts speak for themselves, without the need to make presumptions about the interior mental state of those whom we think of as being on the wrong side on these issues. If Bishop Soto were to read this column, would he tend to be converted in his view by it, or would the lack of precision in the characterization of his private thinking tend to drive him the other way? I say this in view of the fact that Mr. Spencer has the strength of the argument. I am also bothered by these excesses, which I privately lay at the door of the Soros “Open Society” foundation. I note that there is little expressed “compassion” for home-born African-Americans who lose out to pressure from foreign-born migrants. That fact has been unexplored. A smarter strategy of criticism can go a much longer way actually to convert people with erroneous opinions.

Soto, like many of the catholic church’s senior clergymen are far too busy scattering their own flock and emptying churches these days to notice the trouble they are likely to be in with the God they claim to follow:I guess they need an issue like immigration to make themselves seem Christian.

Meanwhile, back at the Vatican ranch, the Bergolio circus continues:Mr Bergolio,or “francis” as he likes to be known…..(so that the easily deceived may fall for the deception taking place:the one that will allow the man referred to in 2 Thessalonians 2 v 4 to come to power…he needs a false prophet to do so ..see revelations 13 ..oh! never mind…be deceived if you wish!..)…..continues to surround himself with a screen of well-publicized good works displayed with the false piety that such whited Sepulchres (senior clergymen and church administrators) excel at.

FORGET about the nice, cuddly, carefully contrived, image of francis as an endearing old man who loves the poor with his famous, smiley, panglossian thumbs up gesture:LISTEN to what the old phoney, the wolf in sheep’s clothing is saying.

    {If you are catholic ,surely you know by now that this is precisely what Fatima 1917 predicted?Surely you can see through the false piety of this particular papacy and discern all these false teachings coming from Rome…teachings contrary to catholic teachings and Christian values:Don’t say that God Didn’t warn you!see Matthew chapters 24 and 25.FORGET about the external acts of francis:listen to what he is saying}

Mr Bergolio has said allah is the same as God:he has not retracted this grave error and therefore is promoting HERESY within Christendom.he also appears not to believe in hell which of course completely demolishes the whole point of Christ’s mission. He, like many catholic clergymen nowadays preache a false gospel of false mercy and false compassion. For example Mr Bergolio, instead of accommodating immorality which he is doing, should be preaching of the need to repent and live in accordance with Christ’s moral values. But he doesn’t;it’s all that politically correct “who am I to judge”?

    This is islam’s koranic allah:-

    allah who denies Christ was even crucified in{ koran 4:157}{“they slew him not nor crucified him”}

    allah who does not believe God’s Holy Spirit because he doesn’t understand theology{ koran 4:171}

allah who does not even conform to God’s 2nd chief Commandment when he says to muslims..
“Oh ye who believe!take not the Jews and Christians for friends”
    {koran 5 v 51}

    allah who curses Christians for believing Jesus is the Messiah{koran 9:30}

Clearly, anybody can see that the god of islam who CURSES Christians{ koran 9:30} is absolutely NOT the good Biblical or Judeo-Christian God but a ludicrous, bigoted, theologically incompetent caricature and imposter{which allah admits to in 3:54:allah is the “best of deceivers”.. so allah is the best at bearing False Witness…but isn’t bearing false witness a violation AGAINST God and therefore a sin against God in that 9th commandment?}You do not need to be a theologian to differentiate between the Judeo-Christian God and the counterfeit islamic god “allah”.

The advice given by Mr Spencer from Matthew’s Gospel is spot-on:if you can manage to keep your faith in these times, certainly do so…but don’t rely on pope francis or Cardinals etc to guide you.

The Eastern Orthodox has kept the faith:Rome,as predicted and known from multiple catholic prophecies,is clearly abandoning it…and these bishops and cardinals will have to answer for causing such a massive loss of faith. In fact this is one of the reasons islam encroaches upon us:the so-called Christians FAIL to preach the Gospel.

Reagan’s action of giving the Vatican diplomatic recognition has emboldened the church to push its political agenda in the U.S. Priests (whether U.S. citizens or not) that advocate breaking the law should be deported as criminal diplomats. If that doesn’t get the Pope’s attention then the church should lose its tax exempt status. The Catholic Church is sponsoring a leftist insurgency in the U.S. and no one wants to stand up to it.

    Pope Francis should have said:
“authentic atheism and the proper application of common moral sense are opposed to every form of religious violence.”

And what about the British upper class?
The British aristocracy habitually send their 10-12 year old sons to boarding schools – to be incarcerated there for the next 6-8 years; keeping scant contact with their egoistic parents.
Some of the boys cry before going to sleep, missing parental comfort.
We never hear the archbishop of canterbury complain about the violent mistreatment of the little boys. Maybe the reverent catholic bishop Soto would denounce the evil British upper class?
