“To me, the explanation is obvious. Some mainstream U.S. news media outlets are by now so profoundly sympathetic to the Palestinian cause that they will go out of their way to avoid mentioning anything that makes the Palestinians look bad.”
Indeed.
Sirhan Sirhan was a “Palestinian” Christian, but he was a fanatical servant of the “Palestinian” jihad. Since the establishment media is completely in favor of that jihad, CNN and MSNBC scrupulously avoided mentioning Sirhan’s name or his motive, even in lavish coverage of the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy.
They’re not news outlets. They’re just propaganda organs for the hard-Left.
“Covering Up Robert Kennedy’s Palestinian Murderer,” by Stephen M. Flatow, JNS.org, July 10, 2018:
JNS.org – Sirhan Sirhan, the assassin of Robert F. Kennedy, is one of the best-known killers in American history. Yet two major television networks recently broadcast segments about the Kennedy assassination without mentioning his name at all. What gives?
On June 5, 1968, Sirhan, a Palestinian Arab with Jordanian citizenship, shot the senator four times at point-blank range in a Los Angeles hotel. There has never been any dispute regarding Sirhan’s motive. In multiple interviews afterwards, he said he did it because Kennedy was pro-Israel.
The recent 50th anniversary of the assassination sparked much discussion about it in the news media. Around the same time, CNN broadcast a major four-part series called “1968: The Year That Changed America.” A large portion of it was devoted to that year’s presidential race, including Kennedy’s campaign for the Democratic nomination. There was a segment of several minutes about the assassination.
Incredibly, the CNN narrator never mentioned Sirhan Sirhan’s name or the reason that Kennedy was murdered. The segment portrayed the killing as if it was just part of the general turmoil in America that year, which included Vietnam War protests, racial tensions, and the assassination of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. King’s murderer, James Earl Ray, was mentioned by name.
On July 4, the popular MSNBC program “Morning Joe” featured a special five-minute segment narrated by veteran anchor Tom Brokaw about the Kennedy assassination (hooked to the 50th anniversary). Once again, amazingly, there was no mention of Sirhan or the reason that he murdered RFK.
To me, the explanation is obvious. Some mainstream U.S. news media outlets are by now so profoundly sympathetic to the Palestinian cause that they will go out of their way to avoid mentioning anything that makes the Palestinians look bad.
And there’s nothing that makes the Palestinian cause look as bad as the fact that a Palestinian Arab murdered one of the most popular political figures in modern American history….

Wait, fake news has come to Jihad Watch. Sirhan Sirhan has never confessed to killing RFK which is why he has yet to be paroled. The only thing he has ever stated about the assignation is that he has no memory of the event…. I’ve never had cause to doubt Mr. Spencer until just this minute–despite his fervent pro-Israel stance. Now, I am questioning everything about this site and Mr. Spencer. Like, for example, is he really a Melkite. Perhaps he has always been Zionist all along.
Frederick says
Aaron; this has nothing to do with ‘fake news’. A confession is not necessary to be found guilty of a crime. Sirhan was photographed with the gun in his hand and it only inches from Kennedy. There is even video. He was arrested on the spot. There isn’t any question he was the killer. The fact he hasn’t been paroled is due to his total lack of remorse to this day for the killing.
Mari For says
Hahaha. You Aaron are not only fake, you are ignorant. In an interview with David Frost, not only does Sirhan admit it, he said he wild at the time and regrets what he did. So instead of coming on here to blast Robert Spencer, CHECK your facts you idiot.

*Most* perps don’t confess to their crimes. The idea that if someone claims that they “have no memory of the event” that this proves they are innocent is ludicrous. There were numerous witnesses to this assassination.

This is what Muslim apologists always do–pretend if they can find one tiny inconsistency at Jihad Watch–actual or trumped up, as here–that this calls into question everything here, and this (somehow) means that Jihad is not a danger.
Nice try, “Aaron”.

It couldn’t have been murder – it was a workplace accident. Remember it took place in a kitchen.

Should have put Christian in quotes also for Sirhan Sirhan is certainly not a follower of Jesus if he murders a political figure for supporting Israel.
The main stream media is practicing revisionist history by leaving out such pertinent information as Sirhan’s name and motive in his murder of Robert Kennedy.
somehistory says
I agree. To claim to be Christian is one thing. To actually be Christian is another. This murder was not the act of a Christian.
And “news” outlets will leave out or twist what they hear in order to make the story sound like they want it to sound. Truth is pushed aside.

moslims lie, so who knows?
The important thing is what the Bible says about what a Christian is and does and how others are able to identify if a person is Christian or not.
Jesus, Founder of Christianity, told us to look for the kind of “fruit” a person produces. Rotten fruit comes from rotten trees. Rotten actions such as murder, come from rotten people.
Christians produce “fine fruit,’ as each engages in good works and follows in the footsteps of Christ. Not perfect fruit, but fine fruit.
Kepha says
Not that Uncle Kepha approves the assassination of JFK or anyone else, for that matter, but I will leave the judging of Sirhan Sirhan’s Christian faith as true or false to God Almighty. It is possible for someone who truly believes to still fall into sin, whether major or minor, even though we are called to repent of our sins–and also accept whatever temporal judgments for them that might come. Of course, we may doubt the truth of someone’s profession if he boastfully continues in sin and shows no sign of repentance. However, at the end of the day, the church (taken as the body of believers under Jesus Christ as its sole head) is a hospital for sinners, not a museum to show off finished saints.
Of course I condemn the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy. I believe that had the state of California imposed the death penalty on Sirhan, it would have been just.

These same media outlets constantly criticize Israel for not being more “compromising” to these “people”.
How can anyone even have a conversation with “people” who have this sort of murderous mind set, let alone negotiate with them. When you throw islam into the equation “impossible” becomes “inconceivable”.
Israel should be given the Nobel Peace Prize every year just for not obliterating them.
Been There Got the Tee Shirt says
I wonder when Sirhan Sirhan will be paroled? He was eligible long ago. He was denied again in 2016 according to a WaPo story. The reason: “Commissioners concluded after more than three hours of intense testimony at the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Center that Sirhan did not show adequate remorse or understand the enormity of his crime.”
Obviously it’s not just CNN and MSNBC involved in a cover-up.
Older Canadian says
It is the Political Correct way. No other reason. The MSM knows, if they state this person’s name and nationality, plus his reason(s) for the assassination, it just might make a few more USA citizens start thinking. Citizens thinking out of the PC box is not what the left wing democrats, or liberals, or marxists, want.
somehistory says
A few weeks ago, I read an article with quotes from the young man…young at the time of the murder…who held Robert Kennedy’s head as he lay dying.
Mr. Kennedy asked, “Is everyone okay?” According to the man who heard him speak, those were Kennedy’s last words.
At the time of the murder, nothing was done to conceal the name of the assassin. Now, because those who call themselves “Palestinian” are the darlings of the media, no mention is made of his name. . If sirhan shihan murdered a politician today, likely he would be labeled “Christian” from Jordan and nothing else.
Roland Tours says
It is an unpleasant fact that many Arab Christians have supported the Arab nationalist cause, here in it’s Palestinian manifestation, because they mistakenly believed that Muslim and Christian Arabs were brothers in the struggle against Zionism and western imperialism. They hoped to achieve acceptance by the Muslims. So fervent was their belief that culture and language trumped religious upbringing.
eduardo odraude says
Bat Ye’or is excellent on how in history Muslims have managed to divide and conquer, in part by working to turn Christians and Jews against each other. If non-Muslims don’t hang together, the’ll hang separately.
Aaron says
“Jews” are against Christians just like Muslims are. Haven’t you ever read the Gospel of John? Real Jews were to terrified to testify about Christ (again a jew) for fear of the “jews”. The only jews that exist today are these same anti-Christian “jews” mentioned by St. John. Rabbinical Judaism defines itself totally in opposition to Christianity. You can be a Buddhist or even an atheist and still be a “Jew”, but there is no synagogue in the world that won’t expell you if you profess a belief that Jesus Christ is the promised King of Israel.
Kepha says
At the same time, in the Gospel of John, Jesus is identified as a Jew himself (see the Fourth chapter, where he deals with a Samaritan and chapters 18 and 19, in which Pontius Pilate deals with Jesus). Jesus’ first followers are all Jews; and having lived in the Buddhist, Daoist, and Communist Far East for a good chunk of my adult life, I’m of the mind that in a very real sense, Christianity has “Judaized” our Western civilization and is in the process of doing it to other areas of the globe as well—and that Almighty God wouldn’t have it any other way. If Rabbinical Jews have problems with Jesus the Messiah, others in the past had problems with the prophets and murmured against Moses himself. As far as I’m concerned, the “anti-Judaism” of the Gospel of John is an intramural quarrel; not a warrant for me to become an anti-Semite. The crucifixion of Jesus (for which the Gentiles[Romans] were just as responsible as the Jews) is a crime, but not one we are called on to avenge. It was necessary, since we have both Adam’s sin imputed to us and our own actual sins, and that these are burned so deeply into our current human nature. At the same time, Jesus’ crucifixion is the Messiah bearing our sins in his own body and offering a full, final, and complete atonement which we are called to receive by faith. Certainly the Gospel of John makes that point!
Yes, there is a day coming when God will judge the world. But our calling as Christians is to bear witness to the salvation given through Jesus Christ.

What a load of tripe. In fact, Israel is the *only* place in the Middle East where Christians can live and worship freely–this certainly is not true of any of the Muslim countries.
“Aaron” is clearly hoping to divide and conquer for Islam in hoping to gin up animosity between Jews and Christians.
Note, also–claiming that Jews are not really Jewish is often used by those advocating the destruction of Israel.
Kepha says
I do not think dividing Christians from Jews is all that hard a job, frankly. I may wish my Jewish neighbors and relatives well, gladly own that I have Jewish friends, and would call the police immediately if I saw some suspicious characters skulking around a synagogue or Jewish community center, but I still believe that the Messiah has come, and they do not confess that. Maybe peace is easier with them and certain other non-Christian religions because they don’t have a doctrine to hasten me on my way to Hell, but the fact of the matter is that we have our theological disagreements.
I recognize that many Arab Christians have supported and still support the Arab nationalist and Palestinian causes. Other Christians elsewhere have supported Communist and Fascist causes. Others have acquiesced in the progressive undermining of morality. While I may think it wrong and even rebuke it, I still recognize it as a fact.
James Lincoln says
Websites like Jihad Watch accurately expose the hard left-leaning bias of organizations like CNN and am MSNBC. That, in and of itself, is a very good thing.
Truth seekers are becoming more and more aware that these and other similar organizations, as Mr. Spencer rightly points out, are not news outlets but propaganda arms of the hard left.
No clear thinking person could, at this point in time, feel that they are reliable news organizations.
And their acts of omission are at least as bad as their acts of commission.

My prediction for jihadwatch is that eventually, murders and other crimes committed by non-Muslims will start to be blamed on Islam.
Some easy targets:
1. Rapes in India: This is already considered the fault of Islam by most jihadwatch readers but I think it’s too juicy not to be officially blamed on Muslims (even if Hindus are culprits). I can imagine RS blaming the acts on Islam due to Islam’s impact on the Indian psyche or some other bullshit.
2. Serbs committing crimes could be blamed on Islam due to the horrors and trauma of Muslim occupation
3. Of course, anything bad done by Arab Christians can be blamed on Islam.
https://www.jihadwatch.org/2011/10/omar-sharif-slaps-woman-at-film-fest
Some older predictions which came true: Holocaust is basically Islam’s fault (the Mufti told Hitler to do it). I think we will soon see other historical crimes become the fault of Islam under this revisionism. How about the bloody conquest of the Americas? did Christopher Columbus who was aware of the disgusting Muslim invasion of Spain subconsciously emulate their brutal ways? I am just going to leave this here….

C’mon, people, let’s not be so thick. The MSM’s reason for hiding Mr. Sirhan’s name and motives are only too obvious given the increasingly intense quarrels about migration policy. In less than five minutes of reading the Wikipedia entry for Sirhan, I learned that he is an Arab immigrant who came to the United States in 1956, when he was about twelve years old. His citizenship was Jordanian.
Think of the juicy headline and subheadings that such details could be used to generate if the shooting occured today. Suppose, for example, that a Jordanian Arab immigrant has just shot the Cuban-Canadian senator from Texas:
