Germany’s interior minister Horst Seehofer has offered his resignation to Angela Merkel over the government’s policy on the indiscriminate welcome of Muslim migrants.
Seehofer, a member of the conservative Bavarian Christian Social Union (CSU), has also offered to resign from the leadership of the CSU. If his resignation is accepted, the CSU could forward a new candidate, or it could withdraw from Merkel’s coalition altogether, causing Merkel to lose a majority, thus forcing a collapse.
Seehofer has also said:
“There are situations in politics where you have a conviction,” he said. “In those cases, the conviction is more important than the office.”
If only more Western leaders had the integrity and convictions of Seehofer. Then Europe would not be in the mess it’s in, and Muslim Brotherhood groups and hate-preaching mosques would have long ago been confronted and stopped.
Last year, Antonio Tajani, president of the European Parliament, warned that Europe was underestimating the “scale and severity” of the migrant crisis. He also expected that millions of migrants would flood into Europe within five years.
“German Minister Offers To Step Down Over Merkel’s Handling Of Migrants”, by Scott Neuman, National Public Radio, July 2, 2018:
Germany’s interior minister has offered his resignation to Chancellor Angela Merkel over the government’s policy on accepting migrants.
Horst Seehofer, a member of the conservative Bavarian Christian Social Union, has not only offered to resign from Merkel’s Cabinet, but also from the leadership of the CSU.
His offer to step down follows a marathon meeting with senior members of his party who tried to persuade him to stay on, according to Deutsche Welle.
“In the interest of this country and the capacity of this government, which we want to maintain, we want to make an attempt to find an agreement on this central question of turning people away [at the German border],” Seehofer was quoted as saying by Deutsche Welle.
Despite tendering his resignation, the interior minister said he wanted to meet with Merkel on Monday before making a final decision.
She has insisted that the migration crisis — which has seen tens of thousands of North African and Middle Eastern asylum seekers enter European Union countries in recent years — is a matter for Europe as a whole to resolve.
Although the number of migrants has dropped sharply since the crisis began in 2015, the influx has nonetheless stoked anti-immigrant sentiments across Europe, particularly in countries such as Germany and Italy, where last month the issue helped propel a right-wing government to power.
The CSU is key to Merkel’s coalition. If Seehofer’s resignation is accepted, his party would have the option to forward a new candidate from its ranks to fill the interior ministry post or withdrawal from the government altogether. If the party leaves the coalition, Merkel’s government would lose its majority in the Bundestag, forcing its collapse….

as usual Seehofer only barked loud , now he is back at Merkels feet !
A big show to fool us and tell ore lies .

Perfectly to the point. Noone should ever believe anything as soon as Seehofer (or Merkel) opens his mouth.

Seehofer – CSU remained in the coalition.
Thus, the CSU lost the October Bavarian election.

Just 7 hours ago, the German newspaper ‘Suddeutsche Zeitung’ reported that Seehofer had done a kind of deal with Merkel! To wit: A “new border regime” on the German-Austrian border will be set up to curb illegal migration.
But whether Seehofer wants to stay as CSU boss, he does not say. The Social Democrats want to discuss the deal this coming Tuesday, to see if they can agree to the compromise. And on Tuesday evening, the coalition leaders meet
So, it’s still all to play for, but the clown Merkel is definitely on the back foot!

He’s Not the problem, Merkel is!

Like I commented two days ago on achgut.de, Merkel and Seehofer will agree to do nothing and the msm will turn both into principled heroes. That was theatre to fool the Bavarian voters. And it will work. Germans are the dumbest voters in the world.

The time for Seehofer to put his foot down was in 2015, not after he acquiesced to Merkel’s anti-constitutional and destructive immigration policies and he now has to face the consequences of his complicity as Bavarian voters shift increasingly to the AfD, the only party that seems to be concerned about the welfare of Germans, their sovereignty, Germany and its federal and constitutional structures.

The politicians create the crisis, and then pretend to try to solve it.

Seehofer has no Integrity at all. He has always started off as a tiger and ended as Merkel´s bedside rug. No one in his or her mind can have believed that Seehofer was serious About his plans.
The Government needed some show after the “Die Mannschaft” has been kicked out of the football world championship. And the CSU needed some applaus after losing in the polls for the Bavarian votes in autumn.
And once more Seehofer and Merkel deceived the German public by pretending that the compromise will lead to less migration. It won´t. The compromise´s aim is to get even more migrants to Germany and to waste even more German tax-payers money on the invadors.
No, Ms. Douglas-Williams, Seehofer is neither integer nor has he got any convictions that would not serve his very private aims of power and money. He could be a genuine Muslim with the taquya he uses perfectly.

Time will tell.
But for now… I say:
Haaaa-haaaaa-haaaaaaaaah!!!
The European says
Merkel and Seehofer made a deal to solve our migration crisis, but it is a phoney deal, a ploy to deceive German voters.
Illegal immigrants who have already been registered in any other EU-Country will be transferred to so-called transit camps near the border. asylum proceedings shall be sped up, and if the asylum seeker’s request has been denied, he shall be sent back to the European country he had entered first.
Not a bad idea, but impracticable and totally inefficient. Here is why:
First: These transit camps will only be set up at three or four border crossing points, and human traffickers can easily avoid them. Illegals will simply cross into Germoney at other places. A fence, policing the border, and border patrols all along the German border would be more useful.
Second: A member state of the EU where illegal immigrants have first set foot on European soil will not be eager at all to take back all those migrants who have been sent back to them by Germany. To wave them through without processing would be more expedient for them.
Third: Not many illegal immigrants bound for Germoney will be foolish enough to say that they have been registered as refugees in another EU- country. They would rather throw away their documentation, claim a false identity and tell German authorities some heart-rending sob story.
No, this is not a solution, it is a ruse, and a dirt cheap one.
RichardL says
good description, but I prefer the short version: there will not be any border checks.

Germany’s interior minister’s offer to resign over Muslim migrants could topple Merkel’s coalition

Sorry it sounds like this has fizzled.

Europe does not need low-skilled, low-educated “migrants.” So what if indigenous European populations drop to pre-Industrial Revolution levels?
Societies adjust. Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Applications will disrupt labor markets, offset demographic decline, and negate the need for the (unintegratable and existentially dangerous) “replacement” populations so coveted by delusional, self-hating, and power-driven socialist and neo-Marxist utopian authoritarian morons.
