The Presbyterian Leftists refused to condemn Hamas, and then a Muslim at the gathering threatened to kill the anti-Hamas activist. That about sums up the state of the Left today.
“Palestinian Human Rights Activist: ‘PCUSA More Extremist Than Middle East Extremists,'” by Eliana Rudee, Breaking Israel News, July 3, 2018:
Human rights activist Bassem Eid is no stranger to death threats. Imprisoned in 1996 by Yasser Arafat, Chairman of the PLO and PA at the time, the Palestinian Muslim activist has been attacked before for exposing Palestinian human rights violations, but until today, he has continued to speak out against further violations and anti-Israel bias.
But little did he expect that he would receive yet another death threat at the most recent Presbyterian Church USA General Assembly (PCUSA GA) in St. Louis Missouri from June 16-23.
Eid, a Jerusalem-based political analyst, human rights pioneer and expert on Arab and Palestinian Affairs was born in the Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem under Jordanian occupation at the time. After his release from Palestinian prison, the activist established the Palestinian Human Rights Monitoring Group and resigned as a senior field researcher from B’Tselem, an Israeli Human Rights monitoring organization, after B’Tselem decided not to report on human rights abuses of Palestinians by the PA. Today, chairman at the Center for Near East Policy Research, Eid continues to monitor human rights abuses of Palestinians committed by the PA.
At the conference, 13 anti-Israel resolutions were considered by the Middle East committee, including resolutions ending economic and military aid to Israel as well as a call to cut off dialogue between Presbyterians and Jews who are insufficiently critical of Israel.
Eid attended the conference on June 18 to testify for a resolution that sought to condemn Hamas for militarizing the Palestinian children in the Gaza strip.
“I work with Gazan people every day and have no doubt that they are using people as a human shield,” Eid told Breaking Israel News.
But to Eid’s dismay, the resolution for which he testified did not pass. “PCUSA didn’t condemn Hamas,” said Eid, who claimed, “these Presbyterians were more extremist than many extremists of the Middle East – they are completely disconnected from reality.”
And even worse than that, Eid said, he received a death threat in which another Palestinian Muslim man named Bassem Masri yelled, “I know who you are. I’m going to kill you.”
According to Eid, “During a break, I approached a water cooler and suddenly someone was standing beside me, speaking to me in Arabic telling me he was going to kill me.”
Continued Eid, “I ignored him, but he followed me and on the escalator and again said in Arabic that he will kill me and that I am a traitor and a Zionist collaborator.”
“Collaborator” is an accusation that Hamas has used to justify executing Palestinians in Gaza, noted Eid.
The aggressor followed Eid to his hotel, who had arranged for others to accompany him back to the conference center. After police came for Eid’s statement, they identified the aggressor from his Facebook page. And although Masri received a warning, he was let back into the building nevertheless.
“He seemed to be a strong supporter of Hamas because of some of the videos that were on his Facebook,” maintained Eid, who added that “after police reviewed the videos on his Facebook, they decided there is a case for persecuting.”
While the PCUSA said they would apprehend the aggressor and ban him from the facility, no such action was taken….

It beneath contempt and beyond comprehension to read about the leaders of Christian denominations (Anglican, Catholic, Presbyterian and others) who allegedly practice the ‘religion of love’ show their contempt and total lack of concern for Jews by supporting the very Muslims who are ERADICATING Christians and Christianity from the Middle East, Africa, Asia and in every one of 57 Muslim majority countries.
Can any of you please explain?

In the 16th century, Christians: laity, priest, bishops, were divided in loyalty to the local king, prince or the Church, hence the ease of the reformation.
Today Christians are in the same position the secular actors are different, the ideologies have morphed, the choice the same:
Christ the King or the secular world.

Anti-Semitism is alive and thriving where it has always been. It trumps all reason and makes strange bedfellows even against self-interest. It isn’t sympathy with Hamas or the Palestinians’ plight that the article exposes but the ever present anti-Semitism. In most cases anti-Israel or anti-Zionism is merely thinly veiled anti-Semitism.

IQ this is NOT Christ’s teaching. These people call themselves Christian, but they have made their god a humanistic, liberal, social justice watered down religion. They are the blind leading the blind.
Many of these church denominations have abandoned any truth or integrity that they once had. They justify their actions by interpreting the Bible in whatever way seems ok to them. They deceive themselves and others by claiming to be Christian denominations because they are religious and proud – and yet they have no life or light in them. This is why they are dying.
The Bible instructs us to love, pray for and support the Jewish people. Christians who truly love God do understand that Christ was born and raised Jewish and that He loved, prophesied over, and wept for Jerusalem.
I am ashamed of the failure of so-called ‘Christian’ nations to speak up and act to protect and take in the Jews during WW2. This was a terrible injustice to the Jewish peoples who needed mercy and a place of refuge. Those that tried to obstruct them from returning to their homeland of Israel will be judged for that.
True Christian believers love the Hebrew people who God chose, and we choose to support, pray for and encourage the Israeli people as much as we can. I choose to buy Israeli goods as much as possible and try to share with as many as I can that Israel has a right to defend her borders and that Jerusalem belongs to the people of God NOT these violent arab nations who manipulate the media.
The only explanation for this behaviour is that these are NOT Christian churches anymore and they have chosen evil. God have mercy on them, because they will reap what they have sowed.

Lynn, as Rarely pointed out, U might want to think about where U put your membership. i used to be a member of a church after i was saved, but had a basic disagreement and left. i then found another church, which imploded a few years later and threw out its pastor (as i later discovered (too late), it was for good reason). i found yet another church, and discovered that the clergy were chummy with one another, but not with their flocks. finally, i just started attending several churches at once (including a catholic church), making friends of fellow believers in each one, and was thrilled to discover that although i no longer maintain a membership in any *human* organization, i *do* maintain my membership in the book of life. i don’t always agree with everything my fellow christians believe, but i have finally come to understand that nobody is correct about *everything*, and so long as we have accepted the free gift of salvation from our Lord and Savior, we are all forgiven for our mistaken beliefs (among other sins), and are all members of the same family!
were i in your position, i would drop my membership, but continue attending if U sense His presence at services and events (“where 2 or more are gathered in My Name, there I will be also”). if they ask why U are removing your name from the rolls, just tell them that U disagree with some positions of the denomination; there is no need to pick a fight, and every reason to maintain contact. if, OTOH, U find the church environment toxic (which i have, in at least one case), just leave and don’t say anything; again, there is no need to pick a fight, and someday things may change for the better, so don’t burn any bridges.
finally, remember that your name is in His book of life, and no matter what the *human* organization says, or does, or thinks, U will go home someday and be with Him. in the meantime, pray that those who have misled their flocks are turned from their folly. while some may simply be confused, others at the top are no doubt lost, and without Jesus; there are many mainline denominations that are little more than social clubs with tiny social outreaches. such places are toxic, and are a total waste of time. we are to be about our Father’s work, which is to seek out the lost and tell them the good news. a social club that pretends to be a religion will end up a tool of the enemy used to thwart our obedience to His will.
God speed!

Welp… I always do my research… and these are the days of apostasy. Not a popular message, as I know well.
1. I went to their main website. They have the “one” conference. The false unity thing. The apostasy that is global is all about ‘oneness’ in a new age sense. New age is heresy. We are not ‘one’ with the fallen world or false religions or apostate denominations, sinners, etc. There is no unity with apostasy.
2. Under ‘by faith online’, the newsletter, I clicked on it and I found this article under ‘in the world’:
An Imperative of Compassion
Mission to the World and the Church Respond to the Global Refugee Crisis
BY ANDREW SHAUGHNESSY
“As nations and governments close borders and answer the cries of the vulnerable with fear and anger, MTW missionaries around the world are responding with the love of Christ, working with and through local churches to address the needs of refugees everywhere.”
(Sounds like the NWO agenda to me. Nothing wrong with helping but we must be discerning when we do so.)
3. Under ‘bookstore’ they have a book by the heretic Timothy Keller. THEN, I entered ‘rick warren’ under their search box in the bookstore… and tada! His #1 heretical book appeared, like magic!
A Biblical church would never endorse this heretical book by that wolf, ever!
4. After a google search, I also found:
Queer Culture in the PCA?

Written by Al Baker | Friday, May 25, 2018
Al goes on to write:
“Note the inclusive language on the website-“gay, lesbian, LGBT Christians.” My friends, must I state the obvious? Practicing homosexuals are no more Christians than are practicing fornicators, adulterers, drunkards, swindlers, or thieves (1 Cor.6:9, 10). There is no such thing as LGBT, gay, lesbian Christians. There is no such thing as a Christian drug dealer, a Christian stripper, a Christian thief, a Christian liar. Paul clearly states that all such people will not inherit the kingdom of God. There has never been a time in the orthodox Christian church where homosexuals have been considered Christians.”
So they are caving in to the culture of sin as well as so many, falling like dominoes, and Al is contesting it well. I agree!
(I’m not ‘Reformed,’ which has nothing to do with the Reformation by the way, and am not even getting into that issue.)
Just by a quick online search I found out all of that. I don’t do this to mud sling, but to warn of the apostasy that is creeping into all the church denominations, no matter how Biblical they once were. It is so hard to find one single congregation that has not caved into that agenda. One of my Christian ministries, based on my spiritual gift of discernment is sounding the warning trumpet when there is danger, which I do often when I’m on other sites and places. So don’t take it all wrong. A good source for the current apostasy in the church is Lighthouse Trails website (I don’t agree with every item but in general it has a lot of info. on this issue).
Be blessed.

And a man who was raised in islam, is the object of the threat due to his defense of what is right.
Truly bizarre.

The PCUSA is just another example of the sickness and fakery infecting Christianity everywhere. They say that Islam is a brother religion of Christianity, Islam which calls Jews and Christians “apes” and “pigs”, so is it any wonder that they teach Jew-hatred in church? They want to make Christianity political, like Islam is. Can no one in all the PCUSA find the truth? Of course they can. Only a gullible fool or an outright liar could repeat such trash. This is religion? Of course not. It violates every tenet of a loving God. The only good news is that real Christians are leaving such so-called “churches”.
