The Investigative Project reported in January 2017: “A report by the Texas Department of Public Safety raises concerns about ISIS terrorists using the Mexican border both to enter and leave the country. It noted that at least 13 aspiring terrorists have tried to cross into Mexico, or considered trying, since 2012.” In 2017, nearly 180 Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended trying to cross the US/Mexican border into Texas.

If the money spent on these illegal means of entering the country were spent to send a student here on a student visa to get an education, it may take years, but the family’s goals would be met. Legally.
The truth is, many leaving these predominately muslim countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and Pakistan) are not muslims. They are leaving due to economic and religious freedom issues. However, if they can get 10-25K to try to sneak in, they can come up with that same money to get a kid here into a profession in high demand (RN, IT, Engineering, etc.). That kid can then get transitioned into an immigrant visa and become a citizen. Or, said student can marry a US citizen and cut a few years off the wait list.
Even if these people have legitimate reasons for leaving hell, there are legal means to do so, and I have little sympathy for these law breakers.
