David Horowitz, founding president of the David Horowitz Freedom Center and author of Radical Son: A Generational Odyssey, read my new book The History of Jihad From Muhammad to ISIS and had this to say:
The most important book you will read about the fourteen-hundred-year war that Islamic jihadists have waged on us, and the most powerful weapon in the anti-jihad fight that anyone’s produced so far. Spencer’s brilliant book is also the only book you can read on this history, since appeasers of Islamic bigotry and bloodthirstiness have worked so diligently to suppress it.
This book is the first and only comprehensive narrative history of the entire phenomenon of jihad, from Spain to India and many, many other places — with massive implications for public policy, both foreign and domestic. Order it here now. Demand has been much higher than anticipated and so Amazon has already run out of stock, but they will have more soon, so order now!

Great to hear.

David’s spiritual journey is fascinating to say the least. Better late than never.

David Horowitz is surely correct to expect: “massive implications for public policy” as a result of THE HISTORY OF JIHAD by Robert Spencer.
I predict it is a book that will change the world. Soon policy-makers will consider this book essential and compulsory in all areas involving Islam and Muslims.
Muslims can no longer expect deference because their commitment to JIHAD is now completely exposed.
Muslims will have to choose between violent jihad and leaving Islam, since there is no middle course.
mccode says
We all hope that Robert’s Magnum Opus will actually be read by Western leaders and policy makers who have the power to influence society for the better. Unfortunately, there currently seems to be far too few of them. Robert’s book and the combined efforts of many like minded realists are crucial for arousing a global public outcry to wake up and smell the coffee.
mortimer says
McCode, the HISTORY OF JIHAD will give policy-makers the CERTAINTY and COURAGE THEY NEED to TARGET IMPERIAL ISLAM as the ENEMY.
THE HISTORY OF JIHAD by Robert Spencer is “THE COFFEE”.

The book would make a good textbook for private schools or home schooling. It will be some time before you will find it in a public school library or in the classroom.

Good idea.
It may be necessary to put in cartoons and provide crayons and coloring books for those naive simple-minded dhimmi christians,intellectually-challenged Leftards and those zombie-like Globalists so they can have some chance to understand Mr Spencer’s excellent book.
Hopefully then, they will be able to “get the picture”.
I DO hope pope francis will be reading a copy. And Teresa “sharia” May…

The two main reactions that I had to this book (I’ve read the first 8 chapters) is how cheated I was by my history education in school and the absolute utter folly of US foreign policy in the Middle East.
Mr. Spencer has done the work that is actually the job of our intelligence services. Our intelligence services have absolutely no idea what they are doing. It is their duty to know the enemy, yet they are utterly clueless. These agencies have become totally political and no longer serve the interests of the American people.
mortimer says
Thanks to vlparker for that. Major Stephen McCoughlin tried to do professional intel work on the meaning and methods of jihad and did such an outstanding job that the Muslim Brotherhood convinced Obama to fire him.
I predict that intel services will now have to use this book, because they have nothing to put in its place and because it is the COMPLETE history of jihad. They will all read it, even if someone tells them not to.
Diplomats and politicians who don’t read it will be PROFESSIONALLY and CULPABLY NEGLIGENT and guilty of MALPRACTICE.

I sure hope you’re right. This will make us all more sure-footed when we respond to misleading information as to the history and nature of Islam e.g. today Dr. Warner had an excellently worded message regarding political versus religious Islam – with the exception that in one paragraph he inadvertently made it sound like there was a nice, and almost respectable transition from Mecca to Medina. Warner doesn’t like to do the ax-grinding I know, but I would have loved to bring this to his attention – but didn’t feel confident enough to do so. Now we’ll all be much better equipped to speak up more frequently.
– It would be excellent if somehow people got ORGANIZED and made a campaign to ensure a copy (or at least an electronic copy) of The History of Jihad were sent to EVERY SINGLE POLITICIAN in Western lands. Include lawmakers, police and religious leaders next.
– hard copies in libraries would likely vanish. I think this lack is very unfortunate as it supports the “SEE NO EVIL” crowd. None planned in my local Canadian library from the looks of it (though I guess there are deliberate delays). Bookstores seem to be doing the same. Neither Chapters nor Coles has ordered any and I had to spell the word J I H A D to the female clerk (whose tone then deliberately conveyed disapproval – of all things!). A private bookseller has ordered his very first one – for me. At least he seemed interested in it all (but he lives in a muslimized area and may think twice).

it seems libraries and bookstores should have an impregnable Fahrenheit 911 bookcase for endangered/”borderline” books to be at least ON DISPLAY (with a reference to their electronic formats). In a fair-sized Canadian city it looks like people are snoozing on and the old-school crowd will have a harder time gaining information they should have.
TC says
So far the book is nowhere to be found at two Barnes & Noble retail stores nearby. Hardly surprising, but certainly disappointing.
Jaygee says
The history of jihad is the history of Islam. The book could have been titled: “How to Conquer the World in 1500 Years or Less”. This book is very informative and could be said to fill the need to “know your enemy”, however, if your enemy uses deception so successfully that no one realizes he is your enemy, it does little good to know him. I believe we need a call-to-arms such has the call that Emperor Constantine Xl made, but, as Mr. Spencer suggests, any call-to-arms will be met with charges of ‘Islamophobic’, ‘xenophobic’, and God forbid – ‘hate speech’. Suggestion: how about a “How to Conquer the World” book with only tactics and methods (used by you-know-who) with absolutely no mention of, or identification of the possible participants? You mat ask “to what end?”. It could include said ‘call to arms’.

The pen is mightier than the sword! Dollar for dollar, the worldwide disemination of this book could do more to promote world peace than any amount of military equipment. The time to change hearts and minds on this pressing issue is long overdue.

The average man-on-the-street is guided by “superficial peace” and hopes for the best (AND, after all, the odds are that HE won’t be the one to be killed or maimed). To cause a stir and ask troubling questions in a seemingly peaceful scenario would unfortunately usually get you hauled away (not that I know from personal experience – but the day may come).
