Geert Wilders has cancelled his planned “Draw Muhammad” contest, following death threats and large-scale protests in Pakistan. Wilders stated:
To avoid the risk of victims of Islamic violence, I have decided not to let the cartoon contest go ahead….It’s not just about me…. Opponents of the event see not only me, but the entire Netherlands as a target.
10,000 Muslims rallied in Pakistan, chanting “we will die for the Prophet” over Wilders’ contest, while Pakistan’s new Prime Minister, Imran Khan, announced that he was going to the UN to stop all Muhammad cartoon contests, including Wilders’ contest. “Khan vowed to take the matter [of blasphemy] to the United Nations, saying that few in the West understand the pain caused to Muslims by such activities.”
As Islamic supremacists become more emboldened, they also become more aggressive. 10,000 enraged Muslims chanting in Pakistan about an event that is supposedly insulting to Islam taking place in their own country is one thing, but they did it over an event in the Netherlands.
In Islamic doctrine, it is considered “Islamophobic” to insult Muhammad or Islam. No one is allowed to do it, wherever they are. It is not tolerated. If such blasphemy laws take root globally, it will herald the ultimate victory of the House of Islam over the House of War — and the House of Islam is gaining in long strides. Freedom of speech (and expression) is the cornerstone of a free society; this includes freedom to offend. If Islamic states choose to live by Sharia, it is their business, but Islamic supremacists have spread this Sharia doctrine all over the West via the “Islamophobia” canard, with aid from their socialist-leftist enablers.
Prime minister Mark Rutte last week questioned Wilders’ motives. “His aim is not to have a debate about Islam,” he said. “His aim is to be provocative.
One wonders where Rutte has been hiding out. Debates, conversations, questions, facts about Islam are vehemently opposed by Muslim Brotherhood operatives in Western countries, as well as by Islamic supremacists internationally. To discuss and point out the abuses committed in the name of Islam is deemed to be “Islamophobic,” “racist,” and the like, and is increasingly followed by punitive action.
“Far-right Dutch MP cancels Muhammad cartoon competition,” Associated Press, August 30, 2018:
Dutch anti-Islam MP Geert Wilders has cancelled a planned contest inviting people to submit a cartoon of the prophet Muhammad following death threats and large-scale protests in Pakistan.
“To avoid the risk of victims of Islamic violence, I have decided not to let the cartoon contest go ahead,” the far-right opposition politician said in a written statement on Thursday night.
Wilders, who for years has lived under round-the-clock protection because of death threats sparked by his fierce anti-Islam rhetoric, said he does not want others put in danger by the contest he planned for November.
News of the competition sparked angry protests in Pakistan and an alleged death threat against Wilders this week from a 26-year-old man, reportedly a Pakistani, who was arrested on Tuesday in The Hague.
Physical depictions of the prophet are forbidden in Islam and are deeply offensive to Muslims.
“It’s not just about me,” Wilders said in the statement. Opponents of the event “see not only me, but the entire Netherlands as a target”.
The contest was to have been held at the tightly guarded offices of his Party for Freedom in the Dutch parliament building. The Dutch government had been at pains to distance itself from the contest.
Prime minister Mark Rutte last week questioned Wilders’ motives. “His aim is not to have a debate about Islam,” he said. “His aim is to be provocative.”
However, Rutte added that people in the Netherlands have far-reaching freedom of speech rights and the government did not intend to seek the contest’s cancellation….

Of course a debate, or even just stating an unpopular opinion, is, or can be, “provocative”.
BUT the mohammed cartoon contest is simply designed to provoke (provoking for the sake of provoking) and, in that, Mr. Rutte is 100% correct.
HOWEVER, he should take great offence at Pakistan’s interference in Holland’s internal affairs and make it be known, in no uncertain terms, to the Pakistani government to stay out of Holland’s internal business.

…………………..
Muhammed cartoons both assert our right of freedom of speech, and in most cases also criticize the horrors of Islam itself.
For instance, here is my cartoon of the rape of little 9-year-old Aisha by the “Prophet” Muhammed:
http://photobucket.com/gallery/user/gravenimageartist/media/bWVkaWFJZDo1MTM3OTE0Mw==/?ref=1
(click on the image to see the whole picture)
Most Muslims are apt to be offended by this cartoon, for several reasons–it depicts human beings, it specifically depicts the “Prophet”, and it is critical of his actions.
But is criticizing pedophilia *really* just “provoking for the sake of provoking”? I know you are a decent enough person to think that raping a schoolgirl is a bad thing, and something we don’t want to see more of.
So–is criticizing pedophilia–or criticizing the murder of “blasphemers”, raiding for booty, the keeping of sex slaves, mass slaughter in Jihad, or the genocide of the Jews–all things the “Prophet” engaged in and sacralized–*really* just “provoking for the sake of provoking”? I don’t believe that it is.
There are a few cartoons of Muhammed I have seen that are just a goof–showing the “Prophet” cross-eyed or with a stupid grin, say–but most of them, no matter how funny, are actually quite serious in their criticism of the savagery of Islam.
StellaSaidSo says
Of course Rutte is not correct. He should have upheld the right of free speech, 100%. He is a cowardly appeaser, who desperately needs the Muslim vote.
Art is provocative by nature. It challenges, it stimulates thought, obliges us to look at things with new eyes. Should we really be handing over the role of the artist or art critic to the police? Do we intend to limit artistic expression to that which won’t ‘upset’ anyone?
Provocation is precisely what these infantile barbarians need. Had the West stood its ground more firmly in support of Salman Rushdie in 1989, we might not have had to fight this battle repeatedly in the years since.

Geert surrendered. It isn’t just cartoons but words whether Salman Rushdie and other books Islamic organizations have tried besides the OIC’s never-ending quest to make universal blasphemy laws. In Sharia law blasphemy means any kind of insulting or questioning Muhammad’s actions, etc. The OIC rep recently said that Trump was inciting violence and he was being a terrorist. This words inciting violence even when the person does not encourage people to act violence is gaining traction. That basically means any negative words can incite violence and that’s ridiculous but we know how Muslims will complain about even silly things like a swirl on a product that looks like the word Allah. Who cares if it looks like Allah, it’s a swirl. Two companies have caved to their silliness and changed the product design…everything like that is a triumph to them that they *think* brings them honor but it just makes them look nutty.
People protesting in Pakistan was probably instigated by the government or Jamaat—e-Islami, a conservative group with influence in the government. Pakistan has pushed Facebook to scout for blasphemy and the anti-Islamophobia legislation was spearheaded by a woman Paki politician.
Sometimes I feel like this is some nightmare because it’s hard to believe we are even dealing with a religion like Islam in the 21st century in western countries. This is truly regression in every way. Elites such as the Bilderberg group members are the worst of creatures, to quote the Qur’an…most loathsome people.

Their “religion” doesn’t withstand scrutiny, and they know it. Mohammed (if he existed) was chosen to be the man after he had died. He didn’t write the Koran, much of it was written before he was born. There are thousands of well documented changes to the Koran in the last 500 years which destroys the idea that the Koran was dictated by an angel. The Koran verbiage wasn’t finalized until 1928. The rocks that they worship came from Petra. There are mosques that are older than Mohammed. The qiblas in those mosques point to Petra. Most of the story of Mohammed in Mecca is actually the story of a different guy in Petra. Mecca did not exist at the time of Mohammed. And these facts are only starters. There is more fraud in Islam than there is truth.
Islam is fascism. They want you to vote for them in the next election. They want to come to your country so that they can show you how superior their stupidity is.
You are not allowed to think, study, examine, or question in Islam. That is why you slander the “prophet” (if he existed) by drawing him.

Is allah allowed to offend muhammed ? Would allah himself have to be beheaded by the devoutly Godless muslims of pakistan for “blasphemy”?
Would allah himself be allowed to draw an unflattering picture of the perfect man?
Would the muslims be shouting “death to allah, death to allah!”?Possibly…
Would allah be allowed to condemn muhammed the mass -murderer {abu dawud 4390} for being a murderer?
Given that allah claims to have written the Torah{koran 3:3} and given the Torah contains those Laws of God {..yes,those very ones that allah denies in his koran and tells muslims they are free to break..negating the whole point of the Torah…}would it be wrong of allah to point out to muslims the fact that muhammed, the “prophet” ,broke ALL of those commandments of God?
ALL of them:that’s some record for a self-confessed false “prophet”{al tabari 6:111}!
Is muhammed {as it seems} ABOVE allah or is allah ABOVE muhammed?
(How ,dear muslims, can a prophet be greater than the god he claims to follow???)
Which is it?muslims need to make up their minds:is following the murderous sunnah of muhammed ABOVE following allah?
Who is more important in islam? It seems muhammed is more important to muslims than allah.
The cult of the prophet of islam is ABOVE allah!
So,in that case why bother “pray” to allah at all if muhammed is more important?

Pretending that there is no difference in the state of freedom of speech between those in the free West–especially those with guarantees of that freedom–and North Korea or some Shari’ah hell hole is obviously false, and quite disgusting.
More:
But you erase all comments which arn’t (sic) far right.
……………………………
Several misconceptions here–firstly, of course, the claim that all comments that are not far right are deleted is clearly ludicrous. There are quite a few Liberals here–including myself–and a number of hard Leftists and even some Communists. I just had an exchange with a Trotskyite here the other day.
Even Jihadists are allowed to post, so long as they do not directly threaten people here. Just today, I have seen several of them, including Ibrahim itace muhammed and Rezali Mehil. The latter was gloating over Muslims taking over Britain and Europe.
As a rule, posts are only removed if they directly advocate violence or threaten other posters.
Which brings us to the next point–Jihad Watch is not a government, as Ann appears to think. If private individuals were forced to provide a platform for all speech, that would not be freedom of speech, but its opposite.
It would mean, for instance, that Jihad Watch would have to allow ISIS to use the site to preach violent Jihad, and Ann herself would have to allow members of the Klan or Neo-Nazis to use her living room for meetings.

No, the idea of free speech is not “stolen”. Such concepts are the common property of mankind.

Well, this is just bizarre. Ann is saying that no one right of center has ever cared about freedom of speech? She must be including many of the Founding Fathers who enshrined freedom of speech in the American constitution to begin with.
Moreover, what is specifically “right” wing about opposing the horrors of violent Jihad. Is she claiming that every Liberal is actually *pro-Jihad*? I don’t believe this. What utter calumny.

What has Jihad Watch ever posted that is dishonest? For instance, this story chronicles how Jihadists have shut down freedom of speech. Is Ann saying that this story, which has been reported by Reuters, the Washington Post, the Guardian, the Telegraph, and even Al Jazeera, is inaccurate? What rot.
And claiming that Jihad Watch has a monopoly on reporting honestly about Islam, is simply is not true. While I think that Jihad Watch is the finest of the Anti-Jihad sites, it is *far* from the only one–there are dozens of others.
There are also publications on varied subjects that report honestly about the threat of Islam. In addition, there are also many publications that sometimes report honestly about Islam, and sometimes do not.

You could always write to him. Tell him that you and many others outside of the Netherlands have previously been heartened by his public resistance to Islam, and that this strange capitulation has been *very* discouraging to you.
My own suspicion is that the Dutch security/ intelligence people may have ‘leaned’ on him, in light of information only lately received by them.. He may have calculated “I will need to spend X on security for my venue and the artists and the public” and then been told that “you will have to spend X + Y”, which he didn’t have and which the Dutch authorities weren’t prepared to stump up.
There are risks and risks. A totally unsecured venue and event carries one level of risk; then there is another level of security, at a certain cost, and another level of risk; and then maximum security, costing the most.
He might have been told he *needed* maximum security… but that he would have to pay for it himself.. and it turned out to be a lot more than he and his party could afford. (And perhaps more than one could raise by a last-minute ‘Gofundme’ campaign or similar).
What *should* have happened was a massive display of superior force by the Dutch government in support of Wilders and the right of Dutch and foreign artists to depict and critique Mohammed whether seriously or comically. They could have called in the *army* – fully armed soldiers to secure and patrol the venue, and its perimeters, with permission to **shoot to kill** any jihadis who turned up to attack. They could have contacted the Israelis for advice on how best to do it. But if the Dutch government *wouldn’t* do that…

Geert Wilders is, by his very existence, a provocative politician, who is to Islam, what Churchill was to Hitler, a nemesis.
That he has cancelled this draw Mohammad contest is not a defeat, but a huge victory. He has, by his strategy, drawn out the enemy to show its true colors for all to see, and see it we most certainly must if we are to defeat the left wing narrative that Muslims will integrate if only they are given a chance.
The Islamic response to this contest has proven that the goal of the mass immigrants is NOT to integrate but to dominate.
Even in Germany this message is being heard by the left who are now calling for the closing of borders and the establishment of vetting sites outside the EU at which the immigrants can be screened and assessed prior to being allowed to enter their country.
The worm is turning and Geert knows this. He knows there is no longer left or right wingers but Nationalists or Internationalists.
The nationalists are an amalgamation of those from all political perspectives who have seen the threat posed by Islam.
