A former Mayor of London and current Member of Parliament, Boris Johnson, made headlines for his comments about women wearing the burqa:
He did not want the full-face veil and gown donned by some Muslim women to be banned in Britain but the outfit was “ridiculous” and “weird”. He also said it made its wearers look like letter boxes or bank robbers.
Johnson refused to apologize for his statement, despite demands from Prime Minister Theresa May, who said the remarks have “clearly caused offence.” Less than three months ago, May couldn’t give a valid answer — beyond “tolerance” — to the question of why criticism of Christianity is “taken for granted” but the same rule does not apply to Islam. It’s clear: Islam does not allow for criticism in its supremacist doctrine, and Western leaders like Theresa May adhere to that stipulation.
Following Johnson’s comments, the “Islamophobia” brigade came out as usual:
100 British Muslim women have requested Boris Johnson be thrown out of the Conservatives in a letter to Brandon Lewis, the chairman of the party.
Not surprisingly, MP Naz Shah also weighed in. She once retweeted that the girls who were abused by Muslim rape gangs should “shut up for the good of diversity.” She also once “compared Israelis to Hitler, posted pro-Hamas tweets.”
The Conservative Party is now investigating Johnson. Being insensitive using satire is one thing, but the reaction to Johnson’s joke is absurd. Now, in response to Johnson’s statement, a public poll was conducted.
The mainstream media has been embarrassed by a data poll which shows a large majority of the British public do not believe criticising the burqa is “racist” and would support banning the garment.
Furthermore, the poll found that “60 percent of respondents did not believe Johnson was ‘racist’ to compare the appearance of women in burqas to bank robbers’ or ‘letterboxes,’” and would in fact support ban the oppressive burqa.
Johnson now needs to rethink his own position beyond his joke. Johnson should support a niqab ban. Citizens have a right to see the face of who they are talking to, and who is behind the wheel of a car. It also poses security risks. He should realize that the niqab is a symbol of the inferiority of women under the Sharia. See the Qur’an, suras 24:31 and 33:59. This is inconsistent with the Western principle that males and females are equal. The Sharia also permits wife-beating (Qur’an 4:34) and allows for the abuse women, who are taught to be submissive and have limited choices. The UK has accepted a two-tier system; over 85 Sharia courts are operational on its soil, from which women are routinely sent home to their husbands to be further abused.
“Theresa May DEMANDS Boris Johnson APOLOGISES over burka comments – ‘It’s up to the woman,'” by Alison Little and Tom Martin, Express, August 8, 2018:
THERESA May piled pressure on Boris Johnson to apologise for “causing offence” with remarks about women who wear burkas. But, as the former Foreign Secretary defiantly refused to bow to criticism, the Prime Minster dodged invitations to criticise her potential rival more directly.
The outrage follows a newspaper article in which Mr Johnson said he did not want the full-face veil and gown donned by some Muslim women to be banned in Britain but the outfit was “ridiculous” and “weird”.
He also said it made its wearers look like letter boxes or bank robbers.
As the outcry grew, including from senior Muslim Tories, Conservative Party chairman Brandon Lewis said he had ordered Mr Johnson to apologise.
The row followed the Prime Minister to Edinburgh, where she was discussing new investment and Brexit.
Asked if Mr Johnson should say sorry, or if he should lose the party whip, Mrs May told reporters: “I am very clear, and the Government is very clear about our position on the burka, which is that women should be able to choose how to dress.
“It’s up to a women how they should dress. It’s not up to other people to tell a woman how to dress.
“But obviously these issues are ones that are openly discussed and it’s right that we have discussion about issues like this…..
“Whoops! MSM Data Poll Finds Public Back Boris: Burqa Comments Not Racist, Garb Should Be Banned,” by Jack Montgomery, Breitbart, August 8, 2018:
The mainstream media has been embarrassed by a data poll which shows a large majority of the British public do not believe criticising the burqa is “racist” and would support banning the garment.
The poll was conducted for Sky News using a nationally representative sample of 1,649 Sky customers on August 8th 2018, using data weighted to the profile of the population.
It found that some 60 percent of respondents did not believe Johnson was “racist” to compare the appearance of women in burqas to “bank robbers” or “letterboxes”, and, moreover, that 60 percent of people would support following Austria, France, Denmark, and several other European countries in actually banning the oppressive garments — something Johnson himself said was a step too far.
Sky customers were, oddly, more split on the question of whether Johnson should say sorry for his comments, but a plurality were of the view that no apology was due — 48 percent to 45 percent….

Al Walaa wal Baraa is the Islamic doctrine of hatred.
Allah ordered Muslims to have Baraa (to be cleansed) from the dirty kufaar and from kufr and shirk.
-Imam Abdul-Latif ibn Abdur-Rahman Rahimullah said, “It is not possible for someone to realize Tawheed (Islamic faith) and act upon it, and yet not be HOSTILE against the mushrikeen (i.e. wrong worshippers). So anyone who isn’t HOSTILE against the mushrikeen, then it cannot be said that he acts upon Tawheed nor that he realizes it.” [ad-Durar as-Saniyyah 8/167]
-“The doctrine of al Walaa wal Baraa is the REAL IMAGE for the actual practice of this faith.” – source “Al Walaa wal Baraa According to the Aqeedah of the Salaf”, by Sheikh Muhammad Saeed al Qatani, authoritative Saudi Sharia lawyer and imam at the Abu Bakr and Al Furqan Mosques in Mecca. – https://islamfuture.wordpress.com/2009/08/20/al-wala-wal-bara-according-to-the-aqeedah-of-the-salaf-parts-123/
-Shaykh Ahmad ibn ‘Atiq said:
“There isn’t in the Book of Allah the Exalted – after the issue concerning the obligation of tawheed and the forbiddance of its opposite (kufr=wrong belief)- any issue which has as so many proofs, nor so clearly explained, than the issue of al-walaa’ and al-baraa’.” (W-B is ‘Islamic apartheid’)
– from Sufi scholar Ahmad Sirhindi (1564-1624): “The honour of Islam lies in INSULTING kufr and kafirs. One who respects the kafirs dishonours the Muslims… The real purpose of levying jiziya on them is to HUMILIATE them to such an extent that they may not be able to dress well and to live in grandeur. They should constantly remain TERRIFIED and TREMBLING. It is intended to hold them under CONTEMPT and to uphold the honour and might of Islam.”
– from ibn Taymiyya, “Book of Emaan”: “… true believers show ANIMOSITY and HATRED towards disbelievers and NEVER support them.”
– from Umar Sulayman ‘Abd-Allaah al-Ashqar, “Belief in Allah”: “The Muslim should regard the Kuffaar as ENEMIES and HATE them because of their kufr (wrong belief), just as he hates their kufr (disbelief) itself.”
– from [Chap.iv] “The Islaamic Concept of al-Walaa’ wal-Baraa’” by Khalid El-Gharib: “… to SHOW ENMITY to those who show enmity to Allaah and His Messenger”.
(Note: Muslims are to visibly demonstrate their ENMITY or HATRED towards the kufaar)
– from a lecture given by Sheikh Abdullah al-Faisal (H.A.): “The implication of al-Baraa is that one HATES for the sake of Allah (SWT)…Al-Baraa means to recognize who your enemies are and to HATE them and EXTERMINATE them in their Endeavour to get rid of your Deen, al-Islam…Al-Baraa is to HATE the people who propagate Baatil (falsehood)—the Muslim should HATE them and (at least desire to) KILL them when the time comes.”

Willie Dille, a councilor for the anti-immigration PVV in The Hague and mother of 6 children has committed suicide, hours after placing a video online in which she claimed to have been kidnapped and raped by a Muslim gang over a year ago.
CogitoErgoSum says
Sun, concerning the death of Willie Dille, do we know for certain that she died by suicide?
Sun says
To CogitoErgoSum:
I am not sure about the suicide of Mrs Dille – my sincere condolences for her family. A hope that the authorities will tell us the trues.
It reminds me in a very strange case in 2010 when Kirsten Heisig, a German juvenile magistrate and mother of two children was found dead.
Wikipedia says:
Heisig was criticized by parts of the political left and parts of the Arabic community for her statements and for her view that some foreign cultures neglect education and encourage juvenile delinquency. As a juvenile magistrate for Neukölln, an area with a crime rate 40% above the average of Berlin, she initiated a model (Neuköllner Modell) that streamlined procedures and targeted an appearance before court within 3–5 weeks after the deed had been committed for deeds punishable by a maximum imprisonment of 4 weeks. Other key elements were encounters between delinquent and victim and community service and a cooperation between legal organs and social workers. This model was extended to the entire city of Berlin in June 2010 and caught attention on a national level.
She was found dead in the forest near Heiligensee on the 3rd of July, 2010; after a search of five days. The public prosecutor at first imposed a total news embargo but then quickly announced that Heisig had committed suicide.[1]
The alleged suicide happened shortly after her submission of the manuscript of her book:
Das Ende der Geduld: Konsequent gegen jugendliche Gewalttäter. (trans. When Patience Comes to an End: Consistent Actions Against Juvenile Offenders).
Blurb from the dust jacket: “Wenn wir nicht rasch und konsequent handeln, wenn wir unsere Rechts- und Werteordnung nicht entschlossen durchsetzen, werden wir den Kampf gegen die Jugendgewalt verlieren.” (trans. “If we do not react swiftly and decisively, if we do not preserve our legal structures and values, we will lose our struggle against juvenile violence.”).
It became a best-seller in Germany for several weeks.

Thank you, Sun. It’s just that in her video, though Wille Dille appears to be very distraught she says that she must keep fighting and that she is very worried about the safety of her family. This would be good reason to be very careful about immediately assuming she died by suicide … even if a note were found at the scene. I hope the police treat this with the utmost care and do an exhaustive investigation. Her family has my deepest sympathy and I hope the truth and justice will prevail in this case.

Do these burga-clad women hold down jobs? If not, where will their men find the wealth to support them if they’re cut off at the welfare tap? After rushing to work how will these mini-nuns be able to wring the rain out of their sheets? Have stylish tarps and huge umbrellas been designed yet by enterprising dhimmis? Will we have to sit next to them while they drip on crowded trams and buses?
I also spend time wondering if they’d discard their sheets in a fire or just roll around in them (while trying not to jiggle). Could firemen be excused from rescue efforts? Lifeguards too? Just how many accommodations are we expected to extend? Maybe they could show some reciprocity by at least attaching vacuums to their skirts.
gravenimage says
Few women who wear Burqas work. Of course, this is usually ludicrously chalked up to “Islamophobia”.
But a woman wearing a Burqa is a form of “Purdah”, or seclusion–few such women would take a job where they had to deal with Infidels, especially males. In many cases, their Muslim husbands would not allow it.
Being on the dole is fine, though.
As for fires, I’m sure everyone here remembers the horrifying case in Saudi Arabia where the “religious police” would not allow firefighters to rescue girls from a burning school because they were not in full Abaya and Niqab. The “religious police” even turned girls *back into the flames* who were trying to escape.
Fifteen girls died; almost all of them could have gotten out.

A woman wearing a burka should be seen as little as possible. Most of her time should be spent in her home where she is seen only by her close male relatives or other women. Her trips outside should be only quick dashes between places of concealment away from the eyes of most men. Should she need to venture out in public she should be accompanied by a trustworthy close male relative …. and in a case such as going to the grocery store, since a male relative must go with her also, the male could just go by himself and get the groceries. Seeing a woman on the street wearing a burka should be a very rare event. She is the property of her father or her husband and she should be kept hidden from the sight of the lustful eyes of most men and safe from their groping hands. Isn’t that the whole reason for the burka?

The one precept relating to criticizing Islam that should be understood is that Muslims are people and to be bigoted against them is immoral, and wrong. BUT Islam is an idea. In Western Civilization all ideas are subject to analysis and Islam is subject to analysis and must be analyzed and critiqued. Islamic uniforms such as the Burka should be banned because the wearing of such uniforms supports (possibly) not only some spiritual aspect of Islam but also supports Islam’s Jihadist efforts. Islam is a military organization as well as what some believe to be a religious organization.

The “mailbox” joke is a little rude…funny but rude. I wonder how people on this site would react if someone suggested that nuns looked like penguins? Sure it’s offensive.
The security treat (“bank robber” analogy) is real. It used to be a crime in Canada to “wear a mask” in public and it still should be. Any full face covering should be outlawed as a security threat (which it is) and would have nothing to do with religion. If a person can’t handle it stay home.
I don’t think using the argument that it denigrates women or is a form of abuse is very valid because, although it may be, it opens up a whole new area that would encompass many other religious and ethnic groups which require women to dress modestly. We certainly don’t want to get into that.
jayell says
No, the ‘post-box’ joke is not rude because it is (a) accurate and (b) not demeaning because there is absolutely nothing unseemly or insulting about a post-box. However, the burka is utterly ridiculous to look at and offensive because it seriously transgresses the accepted British dress-code; and I believe that the offence is intentional on the part of those who wear it because they are well aware that they are not following the local rules and deliberately causing offence in the process. The predictable ‘outrage’ from muslim females when they are quite legitimately ridiculed (poking fun is NOT illegal!) results from their cultural arrogance which informs them that they are free to do as they please regardless of the opinions of others or the consequences of their actions against others.
Also, ‘Rarely’ clearly wouldn’t be aware that amongst the the less erudite citizens of east London, nuns actually used to be referred to as ‘penguins’ because of their appearance, and I believe that the nuns were well aware of it, and certainly no-one was ever outraged. This charming piece of East End dialect has dropped out of use because nuns no longer wear this attire as a rule, and therefore no longer resemble ‘penguins’.
And Theresa May ought to know better – ““It’s up to a women how they should dress. It’s not up to other people to tell a woman how to dress….”…. Absolute and utter rubbish. In any civilised society, no-one has carte-blanche to do just as they please in any respect – there are rules and expectations, and this includes standards of dress. Suppose Mrs. May had the urge to present herself in the House of Commons as a minimalist exotic dancer? What would Boris Johnson have to say about THAT, I wonder?
Rarely says
Jayell
I disagree with you totally.
(1) It’s rude (did I say illegal?) to make fun of anyone’s appearance for any reason. Unless, of course, they are in on it and approve.
(2) There is no reason for anyone to dress to meet the “accepted British dress code” especially since none exists. There are plenty of Scottish kilts and Indian saris floating around on London’s streets — to say nothing of the strange garb of the Hasidic Jews. Therefore muslims ARE adhering to “the Code”.
(3) There is no reason to believe that anyone is dressing to offend you. You may be offended and that’s your right but it’s disingenuous and somewhat egocentric to believe it’s directed at you. I suppose the odd person may be doing it just to get a rise out of you. They win!!
(4) They may be arrogant as a rule but they aren’t a bunch of teenage girls dressing up to shock their parents or thumb society. It actually is their normal dress.
(5) I agree 100% with Theresa May on this point.
As always there are exceptions. There are requirements (usually unwritten) on what to wear on the job but usually anything that doesn’t detract from the job would be OK. Dressing as an exotic dancer in Parliament would likely interfere. Dressing as a cop when you’re actually a fireman would not be okay either.
To sum up: There are many problems regarding muslims and islam in western society that to center on the fact that “the women dress differently” is just plain stupid especially when we (society) don’t do it with other groups who “dress differently”. If that was the only problem we could all leap for joy in harmonious brotherhood.
Pat Mott says
It’s not the fact they dress differently, plenty do such as sari clad Indians no one objects to them, it is because they hide their faces & this is dangerous & sinister! I believe they are making a Political point like waving a flag. All Isis females wear this dress & cover their faces! This is soft Jihad!

Rarely…what’s mainly wrong with it is that it’s a way to KEEP them separate and thus help make a divided nation. And our religious organizations *don’t* have the will or the way to actually THREATEN people into adhering to arbitrary clothing standards. In Canada women can actually walk down the street topless (but common sense prevails and no one chooses to do it except for the occasional unhinged narcissist). The breasts are a part of the body that’s clearly an erogenous zone and so I disagree with this but if we physically interfered WE’D be the ones who’d be facing censure.

Because it is forced upon an individual who has no recourse. A Nun can leave the fold and discard the uniform, as can the Police or Fireman. The Muslima is under threat of beating and honor killings – or aren’t you aware of Quran 4:34, or, Muhammad’s declaration that apostates be killed? Muslimas are in a virtual prison run by men who believe, as the Quran explicitly says, they are superior to women – and you.
There are Western laws, most created more than a hundred years ago, that ban obscuring facial recognition in public. They simply need to be enforced without exceptions for any ideology. Robberies have already been committed by burqa-clad criminals.

Again, I do not believe that saying something critical about forced child veiling is “defamation”. And a court demanding that he pay $60,000 is indeed apt to bankrupt many people. Above I criticized the horrors of FGM, pedophilia, rape, forced marriage, forced veiling, wife beating, “Honor Killing” (including for not veiling), piracy, kidnapping, slavery, rape, sex slavery, mass slaughter, and genocide, as well as the model of the vicious “Prophet” Muhammed.
How does that mean I think I am God? I believe that every decent person has the right to condemn such horrors.
That you clearly do not says as much about you than it does about myself.

BTW. If a white person uses the “N” word it’s very rude (and dangerous!) but, when an Afro-American uses it no one cares. If I, not being Polish tell a very funny joke that demeans Poles I’m being impolite. If a Pole tells it no one is offended (usually). Do you see the distinction?????
………………….
Again, I do not believe that Infidels should be barred from saying anything critical of Islam. Although this is certainly the case under brutal Shari’ah law.
But we don’t live under Shari’ah law in the free West–not yet, anyway. But we may well wind up there if we believe that it is “rude” to say anything negative about the horrors of Jihad and Shari’ah.
I intend to speak out as long as it is possible to do so.
Rarely says
He made a joke in bad taste. People got offended. Apologize. End of story. This has NOTHING to do with Jihad — only manners.
You consider the burqa offensive? So be offended. It’s your right. And you are offended because a suicide belt will fit under one? Ban the Burqa and stop suicide bombers. Great idea.
If we start getting into banning the Burqa we might as well give a good look at how Amish, Mennonite, Mormon, Hutterites and many more enforce dress codes and rules on their daughters and wives. No honour killings I grant you but they aren’t all that common anyway.
I’m not demanding Johnson do anything. I simply said his joke was rude and the decent thing to do is apologize. I couldn’t care less if the self-proclaimed “investigative reporter” who was found liable for Slander goes bankrupt or not. I simply said that bloggers who are penniless can defame with virtual impunity. BTW did you read the judgement or are you simply relying on the blogger’s analysis even though it might be prejudiced?
No sane person would be in favour of FGM, etc. etc. etc.
I am not baselessly smearing your character. You don’t need my help. I’m apologize if it seemed that I was. I used the God comment because it’s kinda cute. Just making a joke. I’d apologize but I don’t want to seem subservient.
I don’t care how rude a person is in criticizing islam. This story is about making fun of a person’s appearance and, if it is intended to be a criticism of islam, it falls far short. The argument against muslim dress has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with making them look like mail boxes. That was simply a rude joke and not a criticism of anything but his manners.
My point about “breathing” is that it seems you are so anti-muslim and anti-islam that there is nothing that doesn’t offend you. Muslims are causing lots of trouble everywhere (or so it seems) and it is going to take a great effort to counter that. The LEAST important issue is whether the females wear damn Burqas. It is just too petty AND it is not the tip of any iceberg.
gravenimage says
Very disturbing to see Rarely sneering at “Honor Killings” for not wearing the veil because they “aren’t all that common anyway”. I don’t believe that Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller would concur:
“In Loving Memory of Aqsa Parvez and All Victims of Honor Killings Worldwide”
https://www.jihadwatch.org/2009/03/in-loving-memory-of-aqsa-parvez-and-all-victims-of-honor-killings-worldwide
This is something Geller in particular has made a cause.
This *does indeed* have to do with Jihad.
It is not “manners” to keep quiet about such horrors.
And this is creeping Shari’ah, as well. But given that Rarely has applauded a man being fined $60,000 for opposing forced vielling, he seems to be fine with that, as well.
More:

……………………..
Yes, that’s *deeply* disturbing. Rarely is now saying that those who oppose forced veiling deserve to be bankrupted by the state, and have to give their money to those engaged in forced veiling. This is, essentially, Jizya.

Pretty much all pious Muslims are. Is Rarely saying they are insane? Isn’t that “defamation”?

Rarely said that I was offended by this woman breathing. Obviously, that means I want her dead. When have I ever said anything like this? Of course, I have not, and it is calumny to imply that I have.
And his saying that “I don’t need [his] help” to smear my character–since all I do here is oppose the horrors of Jihad and Shari’ah, he considers this my smearing my own character. Noted.
More:
I used the God comment because it’s kinda cute. Just making a joke. I’d apologize but I don’t want to seem subservient.

I never expected an apology from Rarely. From his posting history, why would I? And no–his “apology” where he impugns my character further does not count.

Yes, his criticism could have been trenchant. But like Philippe Magnan–the blogger who dared to criticize forced veiling–Rarely’s main problem seems to be that they said anything negative about Islam at all.

Which of the things I listed above should I find inoffensive? Violent Jihad? Child rape? “Honor KIllings”, since they “aren’t all that common anyway”?
In fact, I don’t want to see Muslim girls killed for eschewing the Hijab. But as Rarely would have it, this itself is “anti-muslim”.

Stealth Jihad is still an issue–to those who care about Western values, at any rate. Islamization and signalling to Muslims to rape other women is certainly a concern–to some of us, in any case.

Truth is Rarely you most particularly don’t like jokes because they slam bang into Islamic puffery and rigidity. Jokes come from a spontaneous, inspired, “disarming” wellspring, and they contribute to and attest to mental health. They help us see common ground in the conundrums of the human dilemma – and a “rolling” stone thus gathers no moss.
So DO buck up and steel your sensitive souls (or has Allah *allowed* muslims to have one of those free-form, individual-type things?). We supposedly “lesser” beings intend to never, ever give up our sense of humour.

What a sick bunch all the media and political class are to be making headlines about this.
Where was the f–kin outrage over the industrial rape of white underage girls by predominantly Pakistani muslim rape gangs?
Hardly a peep from any of them.

They’re offended? GOOD! They need to be offended, over and over and over again, until they get good and used to being offended. They are they offensive ones. Islam is offensive, Allah is offensive, Mohammad is the most offensive of all.

UK: MP Boris Johnson accused of “Islamophobia,” refuses to apologize over burqa joke

It’s probably only a question of time before one of those perambulating bags is accidentally mistaken by garbage collectors…

The furore being artificiailly whipped up over the article by Boris ( very funny and a good article, I read it) is nothing whatsoever to do with people defending women’s rights to wear a burka. In fact Boris said that it should not be banned in the article. It is to try to remove him or suspend him from the Tory Party so that h e will not be able to challenge May for the leadership.
This is what it is all about.
Most Tory voters are desperate to get rid of May -she is an utter disaster. Her (few) defenders see this as a chance to discredit Boris as a racist and h ope to get rid of him.The Tory Party Chairman – a thick oaf called Brandon Lewis- called on Boris to apologise (to whom one wonders?) and then announced he would be setting up an official investigation into his remarks. One also wonders what there is to investigate since they were published in the Daily Telegraph for everyone to read!!
It is a whole row concocted over the Conservative Party leadership and the challenge to the dreadful Theresa May.
We are all hoping Boris will take over.

True, Anne.

Some Muslim women WILL NOT show themselves to male strangers on the street. They will cover themselves. If the full veil is banned they will wear the head scarf and some won’t leave the house. Cannot ban head scarves, i’m sure.
On the other end, should revealing clothes be banned? How much can a woman reveal? How many inches of skin?
As for the mail box and bank robber comparison, Boris himself looks like a commode brush.
Chand says
OOps! Sorry; Mr. Johnson.
Chand says
Oops! Sorry Mr. Johnson.
gravenimage says
The claim that we are responsible for Muslims imposing Purdah on women is, of course, quite grotesquely false.
As for saying that Boris Johnson “looks like a commode brush”, I’m sure he has heard worse. He has never demanded apologies for off-hand cracks, because he is not a spoiled child or a victim-mongering Mohammedan.
Carol the 1st says
Chand said “On the other end, should revealing clothes be banned? How much can a woman reveal? How many inches of skin?”
Society does need to cooperate and face some of the rude facts of life – but why do men seem to feel entitled to treat women like their PAPER DOLLIES?
And the “commode brush” is a good joke and I’m sure Boris laughed.
Those who can afford to don’t take themselves so seriously.

BORIS BURQA FURORE
Taj Hargey, imam at Oxford Islamic Congregation said that he “should not apologise for telling the truth.” In a letter, also for the Times, he wrote that the burqa and niqab had no legitimacy in the Koran, adding it was a “trendy gateway theology for religious extremism and militant Islam.” “In reality it is a toxic patriarchy controlling women,” he added.

The Qur’an does tell Muslim women to cover, lest they be sexually molested by their male coreligionists.
And–with all respect–I don’t think think we should only consider something illegitimate if it is missing from the Qur’an, in any case. Unlike pious Muslims, we do not consider that vicious tome a model for behavior.
Carol the 1st says
When an important imam starts quoting the Old Testament and acting like he sees things our way (and even seems to pick on stiff old Islam a bit), then ISLAMOFEAR kicks in and I sense the CULTURAL-CONFLATION pot is brewing up a batch for our indiscriminate consumption.
Perhaps Mortimer would like to comment on Al Wala Wal Bara? Imam Taj seems to have overlooked this Islamic pillar when he appeared to lean progressively on a quote from our Old Testament:
“‘And the Lord spake unto Moses FACE TO FACE, as a man speaketh unto his FRIEND’ Exodus 33:11

We support Johnson wholeheartedly. After all, how can you treat people who think that it is Halloween all year round. Please get serious. Many muslims admit that those attires are NOT RELIGIOUS AT ALL, they are bringing a political culture which is not needed. Those people need to study the cultural values of the hosted country and learn how to live in a civilized society.
