Once again, I had the pleasure of interviewing Tom Dupre, co-leader of the UK’s Generation Identity movement. I caught up with him to find out what activism the group are currently engaged in.
Joshua Winston – Your group recently enacted a halal slaughter in a branch of Morrison’s supermarkets in London. One of your members was dressed in a cow suit, while another held him down as he had his throat slit, halal style. It was more pantomime than graphic depiction of reality, but kudos for going to the effort and raising awareness. Are these kind of publicity stunts something we can expect GI to be adding to their oeuvre over time?
Tom Dupre – Thanks. Yes — we intend to continue with this kind of stunt-based activism, it is a key part of our approach, and a tactic borrowed from the left, which will focus on our current key themes around knife crime immigration and islamisation.
JW – Was there any particular reason for choosing Morrison’s in which to perform the stunt? I have read that a lot of their branches stock meat that has been predominantly slaughtered in accordance with Islamic law, and that oftentimes the packaging gives no indication that the meat is, in fact, halal.
TD – Morrison’s has been implicated in a scandal involving hiding or concealing the source and method of slaughter. Details about religious slaughter are hidden in numbered “product codes” and not labelled on the outside. This leads to consumers being unable to make a choice about what kind of products they consume. It is highly likely Morrison’s is not alone in this practice.
JW – Meat in a package is so sanitized, and so politely wrapped and drained of blood in its cellophane container. For most people, it’s along the lines of buying a packet of biscuits — there’s literally no thought going on behind the purchase. It goes without saying that in order for an animal to end up in a butcher’s shop or on our plates, it has to be killed. And this is where you have leftists jumping in and saying “Oh, the animal gets killed anyway, you moron” whenever you try to defend the humane slaughtering of beasts. Animal rights goes far beyond the manner in which an animal is killed, it also extends to the life that the animal has led prior to its death. Is it reared outdoors or kept in a cage? Are you a meat eater, and if so, what elements of cruelty against animals bother you the most?
TD – The quality of life of the animals involved in most supermarket meat products is poor. There is some improvement with certain (usually more expensive) products, but generally cost pressures and the sheer scale of the industry mean that welfare is not a top priority. Despite this, the slaughter and method of slaughter are significant — the bleeding out of unstunned animals is far more unpleasant than conventional methods, and resists pressure for improvement in standards, as it is exempted from all animal cruelty laws. This is the area that should bother us the most.
JW – I think the kind of stunt you pulled off in Morrison’s (the mock halal slaughtering) is a very effective motive and fits with GI’s MO. Personally, there are so many more events that you could stage which would raise awareness to cultural differences between the West and the people we are currently letting in. Can you leave us with a teaser of what your next critique might be?
TD – GI is going to double down on its focus on our current campaigns — against knife crime in London, the campaign to ban the burka in public places, and our focus on following Denmark and other European countries with a halal ban.

Groups that stand for the ethical treatment of animals never seem to complain about halal slaughter. Can someone explain why that is?

They are inconsistent and have DUAL STANDARDS. Muslims are exempt from criticism, because the LEFT has made an unholy ALLIANCE with the MOST illiberal ideology on the planet today.
LIBTARDS have SOLD OUT ANY AND ALL of their supposed principles, because their only REAL principle is the PURSUIT of POLITICAL POWER.
The LEFTARDED GLOBALISTS have made a pact with the DEVIL OF POLITICAL ISLAM to destroy patriotism.
James Lincoln says
The irony is that after the far left has completely sold out for the pursuit of political power, they themselves will actually become the victims of Sharia.

Actually, PETA–the largest such group–*has* spoken out against it:
“The Cruelty Behind Muslim Ritual Slaughter”
https://www.peta.org/blog/cruelty-behind-muslim-ritual-slaughter/
While there is a predictable bit of bs saying that “Islamic teachings encourage kindness and compassion toward all creatures”, it also shows how cruel Halal slaughter is in detail.
Then there is this:
“Belgium forbids slaughter without prior stunning, but the law does not apply to ritual slaughter practices, even though much of the halal meat produced in the country is distributed both to religious and nonreligious markets.”
Which both notes how especially cruel Halal slaughter is–far more than standard Western practices that use stunning–and that this is palmed off on infidels, as well.

Halal Slaughter is a Bloody Business & everyone of these Islamist Sympathizers should get
a Little Dose of Reality.
Thanks to GI, the Bureaucrats &

This Barbarity.
I believe that the Halal Butcher Halls should be Flattened to the Ground &
That the UK Government should stop the Importation of Muslim Savages into their Once Civilized GB.

It is becauae animals cannot go to court ,I think there is place for animal courts where animals are endowed with certain inalienable rights that humans(beasts) cannot vioalte with impunity . UK and liberals who boast of Sharia courts do not have the guts to enact these laws . That also includes a lot so called western democracies .
DHazardd says
The way animals are slaughtered for Muslims is the same way they are slaughtered for Jews. The only difference is that Jews don’t announce the name of God for every slaughtered animal but Muslims do.an
But for that a Muslim could eat a Pastrami sandwich from Nathan’s kosher deli and it would be halal.
So, on this particular issue, there is a long history of killing animals while fully conscious, that predates Islam.
gravenimage says
Not everything that Islam does is original.
After all, FGM, slavery, rape, and throat-cutting all predate Islam, but are enthusiastically practiced by pious Muslims. That does not make it any less ugly.

Off-topic but your post brings to mind an unusual and most interesting video with Stefan Molyneux in Australia. He discusses many of the shocking practices of the Aboriginal people before the British came along and changed things (GREATLY for the better). He tells the audience to be proud “You have made a PALACE out of a DESERT in this country!…Keep your pride, keep your respect for what you have built, keep your borders, keep your damn country!” (to 59:20):

Let’s have some more information about this halal-slaughter stunt in a meat-selling store. Was it done with the cooperation of the store’s management? Was it filmed? Is a clip available on YouTube? Who cleaned up the bloody mess on the floor? I hope the stunt actors did, not some store employee.
Isaac says
why would you hope the actors did?
Isaac says
oh shut up you moron
gravenimage says
No, Mark is right. If GI cleans up after itself, the store employees are far more likely to be sympathetic than if they have to take care of it. I did this sort of work in my youth myself.

Good for Generation Identity and Tom Dupre! Few Britons–or any Westerners, for that matter–are aware of this vicious Islamic cruelty. Kudos to them for exposing this.

Well done to Jihadwatch reporter from UK on interviewing Generation Identity about disgraceful Halal slaughter and the way the supermarkets have caved in to this and adapted in the interest of making profits from food.
One thing though that is left out and also in the discussion comments is that science has advanced to a stage in which it is no longer necessary to have and use animals in slaughter. It is a real revolution. But it is also a revolution and a major advance for mankind and our animal cousins, evolutionarily speaking, that cannot be enacted without a new socialist, that is communist, society. This is because there are huge capitalist market interests in holding back these scientific advances in the interests of profit.
Additional note…(I hope this goes through. Yesterday three comments I made on the Tommy Robinson thread appeared to register on Jihadwatch but then today they appear to be not there. A strange vacuum! This is especially so in this particular thread because here we are talking about our dumb animal friends who cannot speak for themselves)

Actually, advances in meatless foods have been made almost entirely in the West–foods such as the “impossible burger”, which even many meateaters cannot tell is not the real thing.
Communist countries are in general terribly cruel to animals, and have few legal safeguards against such cruelty, unlike in the West.
Here is just one grim example:

I agree with T.D all points but this is BS

This is sheer hypocrisy. What if an animal was free range or not?Was fed with water from a mountain stream or not??Whether you fondled it by giving grains or grass or whatever? Finally the reality is when it enters the slaughter house it simply does not want to die. Watch cowspiracy and the like. There are horrible clips on youtube of animal agriculture. When going in line to be slaughtered, they squeal, moo or whatever. They sense the death that is coming to them. Many try to escape. Many are not stunned properly and are dismembered half alive. This is not surprising given the huge number of animals employees handle on the slaughter house floor, many are bound to get bored of their job and loose patience and do a bad job.
In fact going forward looking at the how Veganism is catching up in the West, even Hindu vegetarians who eat no meat or eggs or fish, but drink milk are either looking up for alternative sources of diary from either religious cow protection centers were the cows are not sent to slaughter houses but maintained even after going barren or giving up diary also altogether.

The hypocrisy of the left is being manifest here. Halal slaughter is cruel like the culture it’s adapted from. But the democrat socialists cannot comprehend this.
