Two Muslim organizations are suspected of proselytizing California public school students at assemblies.
The two groups are the Islamic Networks Group (ING) and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the latter of which is aggressive in spreading dawah and the “Islamophobia” canard.
As the article below points out:
Both the California and U.S. Constitutions prohibit the government from aiding religious sects or favoring one religious organization over another.
Despite this, CAIR and the ING continue their efforts in the name of diversity, and they do it with encouragement from school officials, which is not surprising, given the groundwork they have successfully laid in driving in fears of being labelled “Islamophobic.”
“When school districts allow sectarian groups to advance their agendas under the guise of ‘promoting tolerance,’ they place political correctness over the spiritual and psychological well-being of their schoolchildren,” said Daniel Piedra, FCDF’s executive director. “The First Amendment forbids CAIR’s calculated effort to indoctrinate students in the name of ‘diversity’ and ‘inclusion.’”
Such indoctrination is not restricted to California public school students. It is increasingly widespread, including in Canada. Take, for example, B’nai Brith Canada, which drew attention to an official guidebook published by the Toronto District School Board that condemned “Islamophobia” and defined the term to include “dislike directed…towards Islamic politics or culture.” This guidebook was prepared with the support of the National Council of Canadian Muslims (CAIR-CAN). The Toronto public school board guide also pushed Muslim greetings during morning announcements.
In June, it was also announced that a Christian father decided to sue a West Virginia school for Islamic indoctrination of his teen daughter under the guise of teaching “world religions.” Among what the seventh grade students were learning:
- Write the Shahada, the Islamic conversion creed, “There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah,” in Arabic as part of “calligraphy” practice.
- Fast for 24 hours and give lunch money and food to a food bank, to sympathize with Muslims going through Ramadan.
- Read chapters from the Koran.
- Learn the Five Pillars of Islam.
Most parents remain oblivious to the extent that such indoctrination has invaded many public schools, in the name of “diversity” and “inclusion.”
“Muslims ‘Proselytizing’ At U.S. School Assemblies,” World Net Daily, September 10, 2018:
Two Muslim organizations are suspected of proselytizing California public school students at assemblies.
The Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund dispatched a records request to the Gilroy Unified School District because of a possible constitutional violation for letting the Muslim groups indoctrinate students.
“Last year, a Muslim high school student complained to school officials she was bullied after Donald Trump got elected and that she was offended by a class assignment that included a Fox News op-ed,” the legal team explained.
“After school board members met with the student’s family, the district engaged in ‘great partnerships’ with the Islamic Networks Group (ING) and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) to conduct ‘Islamophobia’ presentations and lecture students at school assemblies about Islam,” the group said.
However, both the California and U.S. Constitutions prohibit the government from aiding religious sects or favoring one religious organization over another. The legal team explained courts repeatedly have ruled students suffer spiritual and psychological harm if they are exposed to religious indoctrination in a compulsive educational environment.
FCDF pointed out that Nihad Awad, CAIR’s national executive director, testified that “informing the American public about the Islamic faith is a religious obligation,” and the purpose of its “Islamophobia” public school programs is to “create a religious educational environment.”
In addition, the organization said, “despite portraying itself as a mainstream Muslim organization, evidence confirms that CAIR was founded by members of Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.”
“Indeed, the United Arab Emirates officially designates CAIR as a terrorist organization. CAIR is also notorious in the American Muslim community for demonizing and attacking progressive Muslim organizations that seek to work with government officials to combat Islamic radicalism in the U.S. The Anti-Defamation League has denounced CAIR for its anti-Semitic advocacy.”

I have personally seen a whole chapter on islam in a middle school textbook in CA. I perused the table of contents and did see a chapter on Christianity and other religions. I went over to the one on Christianity and found it to be flawed and rather basic. One of the screaming errors was that they claimed that Christianity’s birthplace was in Rome, but that is completely false. Christianity’s birthplace is in Jerusalem. All one need do is turn to the Bible, and the book of Acts, the first few chapters, to see that! What was birthed in Rome was Catholicism. Another blatant error was in another part of another book it blamed the Holocaust on Christians! Yet NO Christians were responsible for the Holocaust. “Professing” Christians, but by default they can’t remain a Christian and be guilty of the Holocaust. It is slander against Christians, nothing less!
What I suggest in this matter is the following: Go up to CAIR and ask them how many Christian groups can come and lecture mixed and muslim groups in muslim countries about Christianity, and from Christians themselves, in their schools?! Yeah, I’d be willing to bet it’s zero! Use that to counter them with! And the students must memorize this creed for the test:
Write the Conversion recitation to Christianity, and the creed, “There is no God but Yahweh (the Christian God of the Christian Bible), and Jesus is the unique messenger of God,” in Arabic as part of “calligraphy” practice.
Fast for 24 hours and give lunch money and food to a food bank, to sympathize with Christians being persecuted and martyred in the Middle East by muslims.
Read chapters from the Christian Bible.
Learn the Gospel Message of Salvation.
Oh yeah, that’ll go over well!
And on that note, here’s the thing. That is true about the vacuum. Europe and most of the West have created a vacuum and islam has filled it. If public sectors including schools would have left it alone that Christianity was taught, we would not be in this mess. But for a handful of raging atheists, they appeased them and we have the mess we are in now. When you honor God, He honors you in return. We are seeing that principle well at work, as well as it’s opposite. If it was mandatory to learn basics of Christianity in Western schools, Christian principles would be enforced, and Christian holidays celebrated publicly, I don’t think so many muslims would be eager to come to the West and have their child taught Christianity with no alternative allowed! Say what you want about it being pushy and not welcoming to diversity, not inclusive, etc. But, at least you would be safe and not have to worry about walking down the street and being stabbed by a muslim jihadist, or having your virgin daughter raped by a muslim gang at age 10! It’s one… or it’s the other. Ask the elderly what the world was like back then. I’m not saying nothing bad ever happened. It just wasn’t the new ‘normal.’

And also the doctrine of the Trinity will be on the test!

In California, Islam is taught in the 7th Grade – its basic beliefs and some whitewashed details of its expansion worldwide. (Then again, most 7th grade textbooks regularly whitewash any of the “conquering” done by any group ever… The Romans “conquered” Gaul, for instance leaving out the bloody and horrific details, the Mongols “conquered” China and don’t much mention the pain and suffering. Charlemagne “spread” Christianity without really detailing what meant on the ground.. It’s 7th grade, after all… do you really want your 11 or 12 year old drilled in the explicit details of each and every slaughter?)
Christianity and Judaism, on the other hand, are supposed to be taught (according to the California History Social Science Standards) in 6th grade, but, in reality, rarely are because the teachers are dealing with just trying to get the students to read anything, and math is falling into a hopeless cause.)
There’s actually 2 chapters on Islam in most middle-school textbooks on Islam: one on the “basics” (yes, that includes those 5 pillars) and one on the “Spread” of Islam. Many teachers I know take this opportunity to cover the basics of Christianity and Judaism, knowing the students are, for the most part, clueless.
It used to be thought that Christianity didn’t really need to be taught since the US is a “Christian country” and the students already know about it. Sadly, that’s not the case anymore.

From Calif Elementary in 1958 through high school, Religion was never mentioned except that Puritans started Thanksgiving, made Hawaiian women wear mumus and that the Spanish Mission system made slaves of the native Americans.
Religion was for Church and individual families…not Public School. I like it that way. That is reason Number One not to have private schools all going religious. It does not help people get along and promote freedom of choice. Choice of a Religion, not a Warlord manual of conquest and control which Promotes bigotry and Supremacy.

The books are biased towards Islam, and teach that Islam is a tolerant religion that respects the beliefs of others. They also teach how Christians are violent. They teach how the crusaders slaughtered the Muslims, and how the Muslim respected the Christians.
To counter this, I merely went to the Internet and had them read a couple of pages of the Koran. Then I asked them if Islam was full of hate. They had to agree. But, they were still favored Islam over Christianity.
We pay taxes to teach kids this propaganda.

Of course they won’t do it….but EVERY Muslim organization in the U.S. should be stringently investigated and continually monitored by the government, especially any that touches any school.

Parents must take responsibility for what their children are being taught in the school system The days of blindly entrusting one’s children to the education system are long gone. Parents MUST become proactive or this will get much worse.
StellaSaidSo says
I agree, Rarely; parents must become more involved in their children’s education.
But, increasingly, the State flexes its muscles if they do. In the UK recently, several parents who refused to allow their kids to participate in a mosque visit received visits from the police.
Parents of ‘kuffar’ kids who report that their child is being bullied by Muslim kids are lectured on ‘racism’.
Teachers who want less emphasis on Islam in the school curriculum lose their jobs.

In removing all other religions from public schools, the state created a vacuum.
That vacuum is being filled by Islam, for ‘diversity’.

Why are parents not wising their children up to what these organisations are about. And why are schools letting muslim groups anywhere near their campuses? In Britain and Holland the result was thousands of “sexually exploited” children, some even losing their lives.

The right needs to use each/every tactic the left uses. We need to say this is bullying and this is intolerance and this is discrimination when the left does what it does, these need to be the answers to everything they say and do.

This has been going on a long time. I caught it in my offspring’s H.S. text book and put the kibosh on the first chapter by writing to the school board. I picked only the first chapter as it was the most egregious and I did not want to push it to far lest my kid suffer repercussions but still make my voice heard. Here it is with names and such removed for safety. And yes she did do an alternate assignment.
I hope it will give you an idea of what is going on and remember that this is almost 12 years ago. Its seems to have gotten much worse by now.
To All Concerned,
I have been asked by my child’s teachers to illuminate the reasons why we are objecting to a certain chapter in the history book known as “World History: Medieval and Early Modern Times-Published by McDougal Lit tell 2006.”, and why we are asking for an opt-out and alternative assignment as regards these certain chapters.
Overall Objection: My side of the family has its roots in the Middle East for over 100 years. I am quite familiar with the Christian Islamic, Judaic, traditions and how they came about and evolved, so this family is no stranger to other faiths or beliefs, But in this case I will cite in the attached attached comments why I believe the chapters cited as regards Mohammed and Islam’s beginnings, are written with lack of objectivity and that they are more or less a feel good introduction which disguises a lot of Islam’s shortcomings that seem to be purposefully omitted and therefore cheats the average student of learning that there are two or more sides to every event.
Islam in the claims of its so called holy book the Koran and alleged prophet as the final revelation is antithecal to our beliefs and more so, is based on a usurpement of our beliefs and Holy Scriptures.
We therefore respectfully ask an opt-out of the chapter that deals with the beginnings of the Islamic religion and Mohammed life and continue with the lessons that begin after the death of Mohammed.
Sincerely,
xxxxxxxxxx
Objection 1: Unit 2: The Growth of Islam. Page 78. “The Holy city of Mecca about A.D. 660”
Fact: It’s a matter of opinion but stated as a fact. It is not a holy city to the other billions of non Muslims in the world. So the header should be “Islam’s Holy City”.
Objection 2: Chapter 3: Page 82, 83. A Journey to Mecca
Fact: It is omitted that Mohammed thought himself originally as a prophet in the Jewish mold and only when the Jews rejected his alleged revelation did he suddenly decide that he would create his own faith. I refer you to
“Judaism in Islam: Biblical and Talmudic backgrounds of the Koran and its Commentaries” By Abraham I Katsh Published 1980 Sepher Hermon Press Inc. New York 3rd edition”
which documents very well the sources for a lot of the writings and stories the Koran copies from the Hebrew Bible, Talmud and Midrash, to demonstrate the sheer indebtedness Islam has to Judaism?
Objection 3. Page 88. The Holy City of Mecca.
Again we object to using the word Holy as though it is a fact. Holy to Muslim? Yes, but to the rest of us it is home to an ancient meteor stone that the pagan Arab tribes used to worship along with other idols before Mohammed came and decide to make over this religious shrine to his own purposes, much like Constantine converting Roman feasts and Holidays into Christian ones. And again failure to mention that Mohammed, being a prophet to the Jews as he believed told his followers originally to face Jerusalem, only later in anger at his rejection did he have his followers face Mecca as their Kibble
Objection 4: Pg 93-94 “Islam and Mohammed”
Fact: No mention of his making and breaking treaties with the Jewish Banu Ḳainuḳa’a, tribes of Medina as soon as he grew strong enough to take an offensive strategy. Plus the subsequent beheading of hundreds of prisoners in different clashes.
Page 95 Paragraph “People of the Book”
“Muslims call both Christians and Jews “people of the book” because their religions have holy books with teachings similar to Islam”
Fact: Judaism and Christianity preceded Islam for centuries so really it is only proper to say that Islam took a lot of its views from Christianity and Judaism. This sentence makes it look like the Koran was written in a void and it’s only a happy happenstance that they have similar views. Again I refer you to my reference book “Judaism in Islam” in Objective 2 to show Islam’s multitude of borrowing of Jewish scripture and lore.
Page 96 Religious Toleration
“Muslim law requires that Muslim leaders offer religious tolerance to non-Muslims, though non Muslims have restricted rights and must pay extra taxes.”
Separate but Equal? Where have I heard this before.
“Why it matters now”
“The relationship among Muslims and Jews continues to be an important issue for the world in the 21st century.”
Islam’s problem is not with Jews; Reading today’s papers one realizes that there is not on continent that is free of hostilities involving Islam and other nations or faiths. Jews are less then 1 percent.

When I was in high school I took an elective course in comparative religion in which readings from the bible were assigned . No one took this to be proselytization , because we understood that the instructor was not suggesting that the bible was true. Can we craft policies that will allow students to be given information on Islam without proselytizing them?
