The “Palestinian” official is right, but Abbas may be excused for misjudging Trump in this regard. After all, every other recent American President has been full of empty threats and promises. Remember “if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor,” and all of Obama’s red lines in Syria. Remember Bush’s vow to eradicate the jihadis worldwide.
“Abbas made ‘every possible mistake’ with Trump, says Palestinian official,” by Daniel Siryoti, World Israel News, September 17, 2018 (thanks to Inexion):
A series of recent U.S. steps against the Palestinian Authority (P.A.) has infuriated the Palestinian leadership, but the outrage directed at the U.S. administration has been amplified by growing criticism directed at P.A. leader Mahmoud Abbas, who has made “every possible mistake” since U.S. President Donald Trump entered the White House, according to a senior Palestinian official who spoke to Israel Hayom.
The official said that Abbas—fearing additional American sanctions on the P.A.—has instructed the Palestinians to “stop attacking [U.S. President Donald] Trump and the administration in Washington and to moderate statements against the U.S.”
Following the American decision last week to close the PLO mission in Washington, as well as the latest decision to stop funding projects that bring Israelis and the Palestinians together, Abbas has decided to shelve his plan to criticize the actions of the Trump administration at the U.N. General Assembly in New York at the end of the month.
“The closure of the PLO offices in Washington was shocking,” the official told Israel Hayom. “We didn’t think Trump would go so far as to shut down the official Palestinian [diplomatic] mission in the U.S.”
He added that many officials in the Palestinian leadership were deeply critical of the way Abbas is handling the ongoing crisis between the Palestinians and the White House.
“[Abbas] needs to rethink his path. He has made every mistake possible since Trump entered the White House,” the official said. “What infuriated President Trump was Abbas’ instruction to his representatives in Washington not to meet with [Special Envoy to the Middle East Jason] Greenblatt. What more needs to happen for the office of the rais [president] to realize that Trump doesn’t just make promises or threats, he carries them out?”…

When is the next “Palestinian” presidential election scheduled to occur? It seems like the four-year term for Abbas should be just about up.

Abbas is only into the 13th year of his four-year term. He needs to stay a bit longer, because he and his two sons have only managed to accumulate $400 million between them, while Yasser Arafat, by the end of his life had managed to skim off from all that foreign aid to the “poor Palestinians” between one and three billion dollars. Abbas would like just a bit more — say, another $400 million. Who can blame him? Think of his tough life. He has to sit in his presidential palace in Ramallah, occasionally takin his $50 million dollar private plane to some capital where he is put up royally, makes a speech about the impoverished “Palestinians”whom he cares so much about, receives a payment or a payoff, or a new contract for his sons, and returns home in that private plane. It’s exhausting.

Well, being an “angel of peace” is no piece of cake ….. just all icing.

Exactly.
Both Clinton and Obama have made keynote speeches about the danger to the US of illegal migration and did nothing. Trump does the same and acted and C and O excoriate him for it.
Clinton’s utterances were in a Stateof Union speech and he got a standing ovation.

Trump’s no-nonsense style of politics is anathema to the slippery, Islamic ‘bait and switch’ tactic. And Abbas’ worst nightmare is that other countries will follow suit! And the new wave of realpolitik has begun. Belgium has broken its relations with the Palestinian Authority’s Education Ministry over its honoring of terrorists and will no longer fund the construction of its schools.
Abbas was used to dealing with the moral invertebrates in the White House in the past. But Trump’s direct approach will certainly put an extra strain on the stents in Abbas’ black heart! Clown!

Jews, Christians and all believers have to pray continuously for Trump. The democrats, the party of treason, should be wiped out in Mid term.

I always find it alarming when “Palestinians” or their spokesmen start saying intelligent things. Where will we be if they start behaving intelligently ?
I pray Mr Trump can beat off his internal enemies because Mr Trump is the best friend Israel ever had in the White House.

Palestinians need to understand that each time they mention the death of another HAMAS terrorist, they remind many people of the 2 million Armenians and Greeks Christians slaughtered by the Turks between 1915 and 1923. The West still has a huge amount of catching up to do, and we really don’t give a damn about their small loses. Muslim need to focus on what their loses will be, should they continue on their current path.
