In this new video, I discuss Jay Austin and Lauren Geoghegan, who were murdered by Islamic State jihadis while bicycling through Tajikistan. They were victims of Left’s fantasies, such as the idea that evil is a cultural construct and Islam is a religion of peace.

Being a leftist means never being wrong about anything. Anything.

You’re so right. Think of the sacrifice ex-Prez Barack Hussein made by publicly admitting he started the hot economy (leaving out the $10 trillion). And in his last year in the White House he went to the prayer breakfast and was left with no choice but to sternly lecture the Bible thumping and clinging preachers that the Crusades were a vicious act of Christian aggression. Right and right. The right to always be right.

The denial of the reality of evil is both foolhardy and naive.
It would be extremely foolish to go for a casual Motorbike ride into a known Drug cartel area anywhere in Latin America …especially if you happen to be white……with D.E.A written on your Jacket.Seriously, how do you expect to get out alive?
That’s like a red rag to a bull. You may as well have a bulls-eye on your forehead.
It would be extremely foolish to go for a jolly nice Bicycle ride into a known isis-infested area…..especially if you happen to be “infidels”.Seriously,do you think they won’t mind or you can explain to them the importance of obeying that sixth commandment that islamic thugs have difficulty mastering?
Denial of the reality of evil or evil people is quite foolish.

The Left will continue to put the lives of the young at risk while the young continue to believe in the Leftist fantasy. Austin’s and Geoghegan’s blood is on a lot of hands, including their own.
Walter Sieruk says
It’s not wise to take at face value the claims of so many of the ignorant PC politicians of the West and those of the left wing news media as well and the Western apologists for Islam that the word Islam means “peace.” For example, the ENCARTA WORLD ENGLISH DICTIONARY copyright 1999 defines Islam as “submission” based on the word “aslama” meaning “he surrendered.” Given the definition it’s an odd phenomenon that after about fourteen hundred years starting on September 12, 2001 the meaning changed from “submission” to “peace.” It’s very well known that if the police are questioning someone and he changes his story something is wrong. Nevertheless, when it comes to Islam no one gets suspicious of the change. The jihadists brag that they will win the war against the West by using the Western ignorance and naive gullible mindset on the subject of Islam against us. It seems that they do have some basis in that claim since so many Westerners are beguiled by the Muslim disinformation campaign.
Walter Sieruk says
First , it should be made clear that, human nature is not good but evil and vicious. In spite of what some naive people who haven’t much life experience . That human nature is evil and this upheld by the teachings of the the Bible, Romans. 3 :10-12.That humans are not good but wicked is also shown that God knows its important to have some kind of government law enforcement to put a hold and stop of criminal behavior , Romans 13:1-4.
Second, with evil and vicious human nature coupled with a violent and cruel religion which is Islam the outcome is maliciousness and murder. This may further explain the tragic incident of the murder of those two sincere but naive people.
Walter Sieruk says
That sad and tragic murder of those two people does ,greatly , reveal that there are some sincere but terribly naive people who feel that they can change vicious and violent way of thinking of a jihadist Muslim by showing him kindness and even love. Those naive but well-meaning people express that idea they have by the words “Have you hugged ad terrorist today?” The harsh reality is that the only reason the a jihadist would let that person to get so close to him, as to embrace in a “hug” is to get close enough to literally stab that person in the back. This may be yet better explained by one of the fables of Aesop which is entitled THE FARMER AND THE VIPER. So here it is “Once in ancient Greece there was a farmer outside on a very cold winter day walking in if field to make sure that everything is in order and as it should be. The farmer came upon a half-froze viper about to die from the bitter cold. The kind yet foolish farmer took pity on the viper and in an action of kindness put it his is vest jacket to warms and up and thus save its life. The viper warned up revived and then bit farmer through the vest jacket. So the kind but foolish farmer died a slow painful death in awful agony because he felt sorry of the viper and saved it life.” The point to this fable is the no amount of kindness will chance an evil and dangerous nature.
Those jihadist have they dangerous and evil nature because they are hopelessly infected by hard core non-watered down Qu ‘ran based violent jihad Islam.
Kepha says
Walter, I believe that these two young victims of a huge lie were misled by the sort of kindness you noted in your post. Sin is often the inversion or corruption of something good. These two murdered people remind me of a good many who think that the Bible’s message that we are radically corrupt (and hence need the radical medicine of Christ’s work) is somehow “unkind”. Hearing that our sin required the death of Christ on the cross, they think it “unkind” to a nature that thinks it can work its own way out of its horrible predicament, they loudly declare, “We will not that this man [Christ] reign over us” (Luke 19:14); and hence naively embrace all that is not Christian.
boakai ngombu says
good point, Kepha. because of sin, the warped will of man may freely reject that which is good.
the allah god of islam (unknowable; the best of all deceivers) gayly supports the notion that: rejecting that which is good is the right path … the young victims were not wise and did not know, were not enabled, to discern good from evil

Let them also go to Islamic areas and try to give them lessons on multiculturalism and tell, the, how much they support the rights of those poor persecuted moslems…….the woeld needs fewer of those kinds of idiots. They are useful to the liberal,,eft and Islam it are quislimgs and dangerous to everyone else. So if enough of these kinds of peop,e are killed , by Islam, maybe a few of thee liberals in this country ( and the rest of the Western World) will wake up and realize the truth about how dangerous Islam is .

What is “Brian hoff”–really, “DefenderofIslam”–babbling about now? This story was reported by the New York Times, by the Washington Post, by the BBC, by ABC, by USA Today, by Fox News, by CNN, by the Telegraph, by Reuters, by the Guardian, by CBS, by the New York Post, by People Magazine, by the Straits Times, and even by the very-left-of-center NPR.
Is the absurd “DefenderofIslam” saying they are *all lying*? What rot.
And even Fact Check notes that “Isis militants claimed responsibility for the murders of Austin, Geoghegan, and two other tourists. Austin and Geoghegan had posted several times online about the generosity and kindness they encountered on their round-the-world cycling trip” under “What’s True”.
The only thing they “debunk”, in fact, is the idea that Austin and Geoghegan specifically knew that there was a terrorist threat in Tajikistan. Since no one I’ve ever seen claimed that, this makes no sense.

Robert Spencer Video: Bicyclists Murdered by ISIS Were Victims of the Left’s Fantasy World
…………………
Grimly true. And there are a lot of people still inhabiting that fantasy world, who endanger both themselves and others.
Just regarding this bit of stupidity–bicycling through Tajikistan, as though it was Switzerland–is *still* popular. Here are just two sites among dozens:
“9 Things to Know about Cycling the Pamir Highway”
http://www.worldbiking.info/wordpress/2018/02/guide-cycling-pamir-highway/
#7 is–no joke: “#7 Safer than you might imagine”.
“Practical Guide to Cycle Touring the Pamir Highway”
http://welovemountains.net/practical-guide-to-cycle-touring-the-pamir-highway/
This article actually notes that the Foreign Office “advises against all but essential travel”, but then says, “the truth is it’s pretty safe”. Good grief…
James Lincoln says
The only way that I would go anywhere near a country like Tajikistan is under the protection of a U.S. Navy SEAL team.
Kepha says
The basic lie of the Left is the Rousseauan doctrine of the basic goodness of man. Because of this, it hates Christianity for telling people they’re sinful and in need of salvation; and perhaps love Islam, because Islam, like Leftism, tells its followers that they are the “best of peoples”.
Walter Sieruk says
Those two sincere but naive people who were murdered by the Muslims members of ISIS is very tragic. Not only did’t they understand the human nature in evil ,vicious and then coupled with non- watered down Islam which is a violent and deadly religion the combination of both wicked human nature and a wicked religion has the outcome of cold blooded murders . Likewise, they this naive couple might have has a strong feeling that the jihadist of ISIS could be reasoned with . That is not realistically possible . .For the ISIS/jihadists will not and can not respond to reason… The outcome of the folly of even trying to reason with the ISIS/ Muslim was the murder of that couple. In all fairness die-in the wool rreligious fanatics of any religion can’t be reason with. Much less ISIS fanatics . To put this in another way, as to compare and contrast. the reaction when trying to engage in a reasoned discussion based on logic with a Christian who is a Baptist trying to engage in a reasoned discussion a Muslim who is an ISIS member..
The Christian /Baptist will only react to reason by responding senseless, mindless words. In terrible contrast a Muslim /ISIS jihadist will respond to someone trying to engage with him in a reason logic based discussion by murdering that person.
KWJ says
I think some people are being a little too hard on this bicycling couple. Tajikistan hasn’t had many terrorist attacks and cells are everywhere but also just gangs like in Bangladesh and Pakistan where these religious thugs kill secularists and fellow students. They are not designated terrorist groups. This couple had bad luck.
Other people do very stupid things like that girl in Europe who got in a truck with an Algerian or Moroccan guy. It’s just stupid to do that with any stranger.
What’s more significant is women working in refugee centers in Europe where the migrant men aren’t so grateful and have sexually harassed the female staff both verbally and physically. Some have come to the realization, as one did after treating a refugee to dinner and later a staff women being dragged into a bathroom, that being nice to people with ingrained attitudes and behaviors is futile especially as they should be aware of all the bad things that have happened in various refugee camps. Fights, rapes, attacks on other religious people or Islamic sects and atheists.
If the left, Christian do-goodies, et al have not yet understood Islamic infiltration and that Muslims are being encouraged not to assimilate and all Muslim organizations of any note are jihadists, well, then, I hope they’re ok with losing freedoms, products, chauvinism, and things we take for granted. Perhaps college students should practice (experiment) living a sharia life that devout Muslims do…no sex before marriage, gender segregation, no bathing suits nor shorts nor short and sleeveless tops and dressed, no alcohol, halal food only, lack of children divorce rights, knowing animals are bled to death and in England outside an apartment building, etc. if it’s the Saudi way, no commingling with stranger men and dating like we do so openly, culturally Saudi Arabia is against tattoos and approved haircuts for men. Iran is against tattoos also…you will a major lack of tattoos in Islamic countries. The Muslim Brotherhood is this way. Repeat these things to leftists not just lashing punishments amd the like. Adultery used to be illegal or punished on the US, it’s still on some states’ books though not enforced. In Islam still adultery and fornication are grave sins and punishable.
Politicians supporting the Muslim Brotherhood and all its affiliated organizations including the Muslim Students Association that has infected our colleges, is traitorous and/or wretched anti-freedom people. It is simply disgusting to me that when we are well aware of what they’re about that they are in government positions because of the obsession with diversity and/or those feckless politicians, et al, with agendas or bowing to Islamic states.
This is becoming like a broken record rant, but we need to do it because new people who come along, have wised up or are being open-minded to other (and more accurate views, need to be pushed to think of the consequences and also how they are being used as useful idiots. I voted for Obama in 2008 and I feel betrayed and should have been more critical, but I admit it, and will be more wary and not trust echo-chamber media. Or as The Who song, “Won’t Get Fooled Again.” Or the idiom “Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice shame on me.”
