They didn’t work as long as non-Muslim workers, but they still demanded the same pay, and now the employer has been fined for not giving it to them. The principle is the same everywhere: in Muslim countries, one must conform one’s behavior to Muslim sensibilities. And in non-Muslim countries, one must conform one’s behavior to Muslim sensibilities.
“Finnish entrepreneur fined for cutting Muslims’ salaries due to praying during work hours, offering food that was haram…….,” Tundra Tabloids, October 11, 2018:
…So you are expected to incur financial losses when hiring Muslims for work, that’s the moral lesson served to this unfortunate Finnish entrepreneur in north-western Finland. Jews in Finland have never taken people to court for not serving kosher meals or for docking their pay for praying during work hours. Islam demands conformity of the non-Muslim and it appears that Finland is all too willing to accommodate.
Pohjala entrepreneur cut Muslims’ salaries for praying, served pork at lunchtime – was sentenced for crimes
The man hired two foreign workers but paid them a salary against the collective bargaining agreement. According to the court, it was about discrimination based on religion.
- Start-up entrepreneur violated equality – and the Employment Contracts Act when he paid Muslim workers with too low wages.
- According to the business owner the men prayed during working time, whereby the salary was lowered below the minimum collective agreement. By law, this was illegal.
- The working lunch offered pork that Muslims could not eat.
The District Court of Ostrobothnia has condemned a business owner (born in 19566 [sic]) of workplace discrimination and violation of the Employment of foreigners act.
According to the District Court’s judgment, the man has to pay a 60-day penalty, ie a sum of € 2,640.
Plumbing supplies entrepreneur hired a few years ago, two foreign workers. The men were related to each other. The employer hired them with the appropriate written contracts, however, whose wages were less than the minimum required by the collective agreement.
The employer and the employees orally agreed that a nine-hour hourly salary is sufficient when the employer arranged meals for the men. Hours agreed upon was 40 hours per week.
Forbidden meat
The workers were Islamic and asked for a chance to pray sometimes during the day. In addition, they refused to eat pork in the workplace catering denied by Islam. The judgment does not show whether the employer provided substitute food for them.
The entrepreneur refused to pay for the unused food benefit by raising the salary but remained in nine euros. According to the employer, the effective working hours of men decreased by one hour per day when they prayed.
The man argued in court that the times of prayer were not a recreational break in accordance with the collective agreement, but they had to be deducted from pay. The entrepreneur emphasized in his reply that he had nothing against the Islamic religion. The man said that he had arranged for a separate room for prayer.
According to the entrepreneur’s view, one of the employees had asked for the earlier end of the working day on Fridays. Eventually, the man had asked for the Friday to be completely free….

Are these Muslims local or they are so called refugee migrants?
Why don’t they pray on their own time instead if cheating the owner by stealing his time! Oh well they are Muslims – it is expected from them – lie, cheat, steal, .. and move on to bigger crimes!

I can’t speak for “other” governments But in the U.S.there should be laws passed that help the employer…..I wouldn’t hire a Muslim that required special religious handling…but probably would be punished for not hiring…but No employer should be required to condone such religious requirements as does Muslims….pure stupidity…. if Muslims want special handling then work for Muslim employers.
Laws need to be passed to protect the employer when it comes to Muslims working for non Muslim employers.
Hugh Fitzgerald says
If the Muslim demand to be paid the same for less work, and that demand is upheld, as here, this will damage the morale of the other workers, who do put in a full day without any prayer breaks.
Avoid the problem. Do not hire Muslim employees. Why make trouble for yourself?
alex smythe says
Exactly right! I used to work at a factory; a few times I arrived there a bit late due to my own fault (10-15 minutes late several times during the course of a month), and my pay was docked very slightly due to that. I didn’t complain and sue the company; it was my own fault. If I hadn’t been penalized for it, then that would have ticked off the other employees and caused lower morale. Why couldn;t those Muslim employees have prayed during lunch time and coffee break, and made up for some lost prayer time at home? The ones described in this article are so arrogant and unprofessional, it sounds like.

Good point–what does this do to the employees who are actually working hard and not whining about it?
Anjuli Pandavar says
The bottom line is that Muslims regard themselves as entitled. Over and above all that, they resent finding themselves in subordination to a non-Muslim, which Islam forbids.
Even if the non-Muslim employer had only Muslim staff, i.e., there were no non-Muslim workers to demoralise, their behaviour would still be wrong.

I can’t say this is going on in Finland, but in Sweden the companies get government tax subsidiaries for hiring “migrants”. Also with the leftist politics taking over all aspects of social and business life, large companies usually have “diversity” quotas they need to fill. So the answer to the question of whether the companies should employ muslims or not — it’s damned if you do, damned if you don’t. You’re screwed either way.
Steve says
It’s a good lesson to other employers who think “all” diversity is good for business.

All religions prohibit one thing or another. Their practitioners are entitled to comply with those prohibitions, *but not at anyone else’s expense*. If the employer supplies food fit for human consumption, then more cannot be expected of him (unless of course, Muslims are higher than humans). The employer is not in the business of facilitating religious practise, let alone subsidising it.
I grew up in a mixed Christian-Muslim neighbourhood. The Muslims (us) were still too small a minority to cause any trouble. A local Christian-owned butchery had closed down. A while later, a Muslim (halal) butchery opened on the vacated premises. The next Friday’s khutba was all about how filthy Christian (and their butcheries) were: they sell and eat pork. The new halal butchery could never be halal because pork had once been sold there, and so ended up boycotted by Muslims and only patronised by Christians.
But I remembered the Christian butchery well, having walked past it often. The staff wore clean protective coats, aprons and hats. The surfaces I could see through the window were always spotless. There were fly-zapping things on the walls. There were plants in the window and on the counters. I never saw the staff smoking in the butchery (and that was fifty years ago). This lack of smoking especially struck me at the time because I hated the appalling hygiene standards of all the Muslim butcheries I’d been into. There were obvious meat shaving in corners and along edges. Flies were everywhere. Yet the imam railed and all Muslims sincerely maintained that halal butcheries were cleaner than Christian ones. Khinzeer! they’d shout. That was the clincher. No one thought for a moment that there was anything wrong with the filthy halal butcheries and the appalling hygiene standards of their staff. Of course not: they were Muslim.
I would love to see someone try to make the case that halal meat in the country those Muslim men came from is cleaner than pork in the EU. At the end of the day, of course, nothing stops those men from bringing their own (clean, EU-sourced) halal meat to work for lunch. But where’s the Islamic imposition in that? Where’s the jihad in that?

Very interesting, Anjuli. I have found that when Muslims speak of cleanliness they are often not referring to actual hygiene, but to *ritual* cleanliness. Hence, a Muslim can be filthy, yet considered clean; and any Infidel, even if he has just taken a shower and used anti-bacterial wipes, is still considered “Najis”–just like urine or feces.
Are you an apostate from Islam?
Anjuli Pandavar says
A Muslim would say that I’m an apostate. But since I am not a Muslim, Islam has no jurisdiction over me whatsoever, and I most certainly will not allow it to tell me who or what I am. I define myself in my own terms independently of Islam. To think of myself as an “apostate” is akin to thinking of myself as a runaway slave whose master retains the right to claim him back at any moment, or do with the slave as he sees fit (by the way, Islamic apologists, especially Muslims, like telling you “there is no compulsion in religion”).
Having said that, secular humanists, atheists and anti-theists who were once Muslim have such an important role to play in the Counter-Jihad, not least in encouraging and enabling further apostasy, that being an ex-Muslim is something that I must make known. Not hiding the fact that I, along with millions of others, have defied that which most terrifies Muslims is a personal, but vital, act of counter-jihad.
Michael Copeland says
If forced by necessity, because no halal is available, muslims may eat kaffir food:
“He has only forbidden to you dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah . But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit], there is no sin upon him. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.”

So they’re just going to sit down, say “Bismillah,” and tuck in?
StellaSaidSo says
In allowing Muslims time off for prayers during working hours, Western employers have fallen for yet another deception. The assumption that in Islamic countries everything stops for prayers five times a day is mistaken. Imagine what would happen if, for example, Dubai airport followed this practice?
If a Muslim applicant for a job is not prepared to be employed on the same terms as everyone else, s/he should not expect to get the job.

If muslims insist they are given time off for their “prayers” then atheist workers should be given time off too ..”for non-prayers”..
It’s only fair.

Good point, FYI!
We have been far too hospitable. We seem to fall for their scams every time. High IQ might not be their strong suit, but for sheer rat cunning they are unsurpassed.

Finland: Employer fined for cutting Muslims’ salaries for praying during work hours, offering haram food
…………………..
Disgusting. No one should have to pay extra for the “privilege” of having these lazy, demanding, and ultimately dangerous thugs working for them.
Gjallarhornet says
I was Finland earlier this year. It was so nice. Immigration-wise it was like most of Europe in the nineties. So little of it. For once I could go to a modern European country and like it for what it is, and not have to deal with the fact that the country has morphed into a violent multicultural hell hole. I liked Finland .. because of –Finland. Once I liked France as well, but what is ‘France’ today is NOT the France I was brought up to like. France is gone, and something else calls itself France. Finland is still there.
But for some reason the Finns, like the Icelanders, who have had virtually no immigration, seem hell bent on catching up on the descent to hell countries like Sweden and France have taken.
Why? Seriously – why?
StellaSaidSo says
1. Money.
2. Unpleasant consequences if they don’t take the money.
Gjallarhornet says
Yes … perks, in some form or another. And then some ignorance, plus remoteness from the problems of ordinary people, as well as inability to change an old positive-to-immigration-mentality from yesteryear to the corresponding realities of today etc etc.

This is what happens when a group of people are treated specially under the false premise of religious requirements…they quickly feel entitled to everything and because they shout about it usually get what they want. This pandering is very dangerous, creates division and resentment and is moving Western countries ever closer to Muslim states. Is this really what we want ?
Vicky says
Muslims are manipulating (buying) American politicians who then force citizens to accept this deadly terrorist cult as special, as deserving of undeserved favor. We are beginning to see savage islam go from being accepted as equal to our Christian Judeo values, by courts and law enforcement, to being the federal government’s established and preferred religion. It’s being forced on our children in government indoctrination centers called ‘public schools’. Soon we will be on our knees serving these barbarians in fear, afraid to come out of our homes, just like the poor souls in other Western countries.
