France: Police raid Shi’ite faith center, arrest three of its leaders in counter-terrorism swoop

Sure. And given the policies of the Macron government regarding mass Muslim migration, and the stigmatization, demonization and persecution of everyone who dares to oppose the Muslim migrant influx, before too long jihad terrorism won’t be necessary anyway, any more than it is in Saudi Arabia.

LILLE, France/PARIS (Reuters) – French police raided a Shi’ite Muslim faith center and arrested three of its leaders for illegal weapons possession in pre-dawn swoops on Tuesday that government officials said were prompted by suspicion of links to terrorist organizations.

France, home to Europe’s largest Muslim community, remains on maximum alert after attacks in recent years in which Islamist militants and people inspired by radical groups such as Islamic State have killed close to 250 people.

Paris also accused Tehran on Tuesday of plotting to bomb an opposition rally in Paris earlier this year.

Some 200 police officers including elite troopers from Paris took part in raids that began under darkness at the Centre Zahra France and homes of a dozen of its members, in Grande Synthe near the northern port town of Dunkirk.

“This is a counter-terrorism operation,” the local prefect’s office said a statement.

“The activities of Centre Zahra France are under particularly close watch given its leaders’ clear support for several terrorist organizations and movements espousing ideas contrary to (French) republican values.”

Interior Minister Gerard Collomb said three people were put in custody after the discovery of illegal arms, and that a prayer room was being shut.

The raids coincided with an announcement that France had also seized assets belonging to Iran’s intelligence services and two Iranian nationals over a June plot to attack an exiled Iranian opposition group’s rally outside Paris.

Two sources said there was no direct link between the raids and the Iranian intelligence asset freezes.

However, a French diplomatic source said that while the two incidents were not linked, the raid on the Zahra aimed to show that Paris would also not tolerate radical Shi’ite groups.

  1. Ah gee, the French police should have consulted christianblood first because per christianblood only Sunnis are a problem. The Iranian Shiite regime, Shiite Hezbollah, et al. are just fine (because Russia backs them and Russia under Putin can do no wrong).

      Two reasons for this police raid on the Shiite shrine in France:

      Firstly, over the past few months a Western-backed, anti Iranian terrorist group known as “Mujahedeen-e-Khalq” carried out several violent demonstration and threats against the Iranian government and its institutions in France. And it is very likely that the people in this Iranian religious shrine in France were responding to those threats from “Mujahedeen-e-Khalq” and were really scared for their lives, especially given what happened in Iran a few weeks ago were dozens of Iranian civilians and soldiers were killed in a terrorist attack there!

      Secondly, it is very likely there is also a very strong element of Anti-Iranian propaganda involved to discredit Iran and paint it as a supported terrorism. For more on the tension between Western-backed “Mujahedeen-e-Khalq” in France and the Iranian government watch the video clip below:

          I know the sin that Iran committed is that it won’t bow down to the empire! It won’t be a puppet for the empire and for that they are really, really hated by the empire!

          christianblood has said this before–that all the horrors of the Islamic Republic of Iran are to be applauded because it just shows that Iran is not ‘bowing down’ to American values.

          Even after being asked to condemn Iran hanging gay people, vowing to “wipe Israel off the map”, and stoning women to death he will not do so.

          This is all orthodox Islam–not “resistance” as he has claimed.

          And Iran is claiming that there are “deep-rooted ties between Iran and France as well as other influential European countries”–in other words, that some European countries have been winking at the horrors of Islam in Iran, unlike the United States.

          Iran wants to make sure that the dhimmis in France do nothing to defend against Jihad.

          France should not enable Sunni *or* Shia Jihadists.

        • I note that christianblood is incensed that Rudy Guiliani says that Iran deserves freedom–I’m sure he hates this notion.

          Is he also angry at Guiliani saying that Iran’s Mullahs have blood on their hands? It looks like it. And does christianblood think that his speaking critically about Iran having taken our diplomatic staff hostage is a bad thing? Again, it looks like it.

          Iran is indeed the enemy of freedom.

          The only real issue here is whether the MEK–the “People’s Mujahedin of Iran”–is any better. They may well not be. Certainly, the problem is that in Islam there are rarely *any* good guys.

          One of the shortcomings of the West is that we have a tendency to believe that those who oppose tyranny are for freedom–this, alas, is not always the case.

          Guiliani actually does broach this issue here–but is, I think, rather too quick to dismiss it.

          The idea that the Mullahs deserve to stay in power in Iran in perpetuity–and that the people there never have any hope of living in anything but a brutal totalitarian Shari’ah state is terribly grim.

          That does not, of course, necessarily mean that this lot would be an improvement–but that is a separate issue.

          I did grow up in San Francisco–I agree with some of the ideas here, and disagree–sometimes quite pointedly–with others. Really, that is the whole point of thinking for oneself.

          I suppose that for kaboooooooooooooooom standing against the horrors of Jihad and Shari’ah is indeed boring.

  3. All of this while, increasingly in the West, Christians are hated and reviled. Why? Do our worship services have to be monitored for incitement to violent insurrection? Do we have bomb making classes in Sunday School? Do our places of worship serve as cover for weapons exchanges?
