After the recent news about the Palestinian Authority TV sermon that stated that “Hitler was sent by Allah to punish the Jews” and about the Pope comparing “Populists” to Hitler while he called for open doors to all migrants, now comes the news that Palestinian Archbishop Atallah Hanna has slammed evangelical Christians with the wild claim that they “do not belong to Christianity at all.”
This clerical wolf in sheep’s clothing has joined the Leftist chorus and his statement serves only to embolden jihadists who have endeavored to obliterate Israel since its founding. Hanna goes on:
The Christian evangelists are tantamount to pulpits in the service of the Zionist enterprise. They are enemies of Christian values, and when they come to Palestine they do not visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Church of the Nativity, but rather [Jewish communities] located on the stolen lands of our people as a sign of solidarity with [Israel].”
There is no “Palestine.” And note that Hanna makes no mention of the persecution of Christians who have been driven out of lands they inhabited since Biblical times. In the 1950’s, Bethlehem and its surrounding villages were 86 percent Christian. Currently, the Christian population is under 12 percent, and the area is a dangerous and unfriendly territory to Christians. This is not because of Israel.

A Palestinian Christian leader has demonized Evangelical Christians as being “pulpits in the service of the Zionist enterprise.” In fact, the Head of the Sebastia Diocese of the Greek Orthodox Church in Jerusalem Archbishop Atallah Hanna stated that “Evangelical Christians” or “Zionist Christians” do “not belong to Christianity,” and that they “have no connection to the values of Christianity”:
“Head of the Sebastia Diocese of the Greek Orthodox Church in Jerusalem Archbishop Atallah Hanna said that neither the Christian nor the church dictionary contain anything called ‘Evangelical Christians’ or ‘Zionist Christians.’ He added: ‘The aforementioned do not belong to Christianity at all; they have no connection to the values of Christianity and to the evangelical principles that always prefer to identify with the deprived and ill-fated of the world. They are closer to Judaism and Zionism and have no connection to Christianity.’
Archbishop Hanna said: ‘The Christian Evangelists are tantamount to pulpits in the service of the Zionist enterprise. They are enemies of the Christian values, and when they come to Palestine they do not visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Church of the Nativity, but rather the colonies located on the stolen lands of our people as a sign of solidarity with the occupation.'”
