I’m grateful to Anne Marie Waters of For Britain for starting this petition. As you can see here, I was banned from entering the UK for saying: “[Islam] is a religion and is a belief system that mandates warfare against unbelievers for the purpose for establishing a societal model that is absolutely incompatible with Western society because media and general government unwillingness to face the sources of Islamic terrorism these things remain largely unknown.” This is a garbled version of what I actually said, which is that Islam in its traditional formulations and core texts mandates warfare against and the subjugation of unbelievers. This is actually a true statement, easily proven. Imran Ahsan Khan Nyazee, Assistant Professor on the faculty of Shari’ah and Law of the International Islamic University in Islamabad, in his 1994 book The Methodology of Ijtihad quotes the twelfth century Maliki jurist Ibn Rushd: “Muslim jurists agreed that the purpose of fighting with the People of the Book…is one of two things: it is either their conversion to Islam or the payment of jizyah.” Nyazee concludes: “This leaves no doubt that the primary goal of the Muslim community, in the eyes of its jurists, is to spread the word of Allah through jihad, and the option of poll-tax [jizya] is to be exercised only after subjugation” of non-Muslims.”
Also, the assumption that the British government is fair, consistent, and judicious in such judgments is false. Just days before Pamela Geller and I were banned, the British government admitted Saudi Sheikh Mohammed al-Arefe. Al-Arefe has said: “Devotion to jihad for the sake of Allah, and the desire to shed blood, to smash skulls, and to sever limbs for the sake of Allah and in defense of His religion, is, undoubtedly, an honor for the believer. Allah said that if a man fights the infidels, the infidels will be unable to prepare to fight.” That was acceptable in Britain.
Similar petitions should be introduced for the admission of Pamela Geller, Lauren Southern, Martin Sellner, Brittany Pettibone, Lutz Bachmann, and all others who have been banned from Britain for the Sharia crime of criticizing jihad violence and terror and the Sharia oppression of women, gays, and others.
“Petition Allow American author Robert Spencer to enter the UK and speak freely,” Petitions UK Government and Parliament:
The prominent American author Robert Spencer was barred from entering the UK in 2013. Despite having committed no crime, Mr Spencer was prevented from speaking in Britain following his criticisms of Islam, a subject on which he has written widely. He should not be denied UK entry because of this.
Spencer was barred from entering Britain by then Home Secretary Theresa May. Mrs May deemed his presence in the UK as “not conducive to the public good”. Spencer had committed no crime, had not incited violence, but expressed his views about the Koran and Mohammed. We demand that this ban is lifted and that Robert Spencer be allowed entry to the UK.

I think it’s unlikely to unban Robert Spencer as long as leftist and socialist government are in power
Anjuli Pandavar says
It’s even more likely if you don’t sign the petition, wouldn’t you say?

It is probably in his best interest NOT TO GO. He would be in danger. However, the fact that he is banned because of what he says is awfully islamic….I thought the UK was a parliamentary democracy with a constitutional monarch…when i researched free speech in the UK, this is what i found:

Censorship in the United Kingdom has a long history with variously stringent and lax laws in place at different times.
British citizens have a negative right to freedom of expression under the common law.[1] In 1998, the United Kingdom incorporated the European Convention into its domestic law under the Human Rights Act. However, there is a broad sweep of exceptions including threatening or abusive words or behaviour intending or likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress or cause a breach of the peace (which has been used to prohibit racist speech targeted at individuals),[2][3][4] sending another any article which is indecent or grossly offensive with an intent to cause distress or anxiety (which has been used to prohibit speech of a racist or anti-religious nature),[5][6][7] incitement,[8] incitement to racial hatred,[9] incitement to religious hatred, incitement to terrorism including encouragement of terrorism and dissemination of terrorist publications,[8][10][11] glorifying terrorism,[12][13] collection or possession of a document or record containing information likely to be of use to a terrorist,[14][15] treason including advocating for the abolition of the monarchy or compassing or imagining the death of the monarch,[16][17][18][19][20] sedition,[17] obscenity,[21] indecency including corruption of public morals and outraging public decency,[22] defamation,[23] prior restraint, restrictions on court reporting including names of victims and evidence and prejudicing or interfering with court proceedings,[24][25] prohibition of post-trial interviews with jurors,[25] time, manner, and place restrictions,[26] harassment, privileged communications, trade secrets, classified material, copyright, patents, military conduct, and limitations on commercial speech such as advertising.

The present government of the UK is Right wing, though it may seem to be to the left of the present US administration it is still Right wing to British voters. The labour /socialist party is very left wing at least in its present manifestation. Please get your facts straight

I wish I could sign this petition, but it is saying you must be a UK citizen or resident. I am neither. This ban iscompletely absurd. Britain is in full on self destruct mode.
The good old American adage, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.”, applies here.
Stranger than fiction.
dumbledoresarmy says
If you can’t sign the petition – which is about Britons putting pressure on their own politicians – you *can* write a letter to the UK ambassador in your country, expressing your dismay at the manifest suppression of freedom of speech in the UK.
If they get a lot of letters from within countries that they consider to be friends-and-allies, showing that many, many voting citizens of those countries are aware of – and deeply disapprove of -the parlous state of affairs within the UK – the suppression of freedom of speech, this ridiculous ban on Robert Spencer who is a mild-mannered, decent and scholarly Catholic Christian who does nothing but tell the plain truth – then it might at least give them pause.
Because bad publicity leads to less tourist $$. Bad publicity leads to less business investment. ETC.
Be polite, be precise, and be pointed.
Let them know that what remains of the free world – the remnant of free and decent people – are *watching*. And that we have long memories; we remember, we pay attention, we observe and record.

My mother was English, and I have a lot of relatives in Britain–but as an American, I cannot sign this petition, or I would.
dumbledoresarmy says
But you *can* write, on the same topic, to the UK ambassador to the USA.
Let him know that ordinary Americans are aware of the depths to which Britain has descended. The mistreatment of Tommy Robinson, the refusal to deal with the hundreds of Islamic rape gangs, and the prevention of Robert Spencer from entering the country (and the attempt to keep Geert Wilders out, as well) are all of a piece.
You can identify yourself as the daughter of an Englishwoman; as someone aware of Britain’s proud history. Tell the UK ambassador that you are dismayed, angry and *ashamed* by the atrocious behaviour of the current (and several previous!) governments of the UK.
Tell them that you look forward to seeing the removal of this ban and an open door for Mr Spencer… and provision of an adequate security detail so that he can speak freely and safely.
mortimer says
Thank you, Anne Marie Waters. This is a very sensible and reasonable idea. The globalists have already lost the battle to restrict criticism of Islam, even if they do not admit it. If the globalists continue to go after freedom of expression, the people will turn away from them massively, as they are doing in central Europe. This movement of freedom and a return to tradition is sweeping Europe and is moving Westward.
There is no valid reason to keep Robert Spencer from sharing his knowledge of the JIHAD DOCTRINE in UK. Everything Robert Spencer says and writes is solidly grounded in the AUTHORIZED WRITINGS of the ISLAMIC CONSENSUS, and therefore, there is NO CONTROVERSY among the Muslim mainstream over 1) the MEANING, 2) MOTIVE and 3) METHODS of jihad. Muslims are generally in LOCK-STEP AGREEMENT about the previous three. They only differ on the SPEED of the IMPLEMENTATION and about how many lives should be sacrificed in the process.
Muslims do not disagree that kafirs are undeserving of life because they reject the prophecy of Mohammed. Most Muslims find killing the kafirs distasteful.
The UK politicians should realize that THE JIG IS UP FOR ISLAM. The knowledge of JIHADISM has spread to the TOILING MASSES of the working class among whom REAL MUSLIMS LIVE, slap their boys around in the schoolyard and rape their girls at the curry take-away. ENOUGH of the CHARADE, UK politicians.
The UK people have had enough of your CHARADE of protecting this vile DEATH CULT, RAPE CULT and MISOGYNY CULT.
ENOUGH! Let Robert Spencer come to Britain and speak about JIHADISM.
(For the resolutely uninformed, ‘jihadism’ is the ideology that states that JIHAD is the MOST important action for Muslims. That theory is actually normative Islam. You are welcome.)

I wrongly supported the campaign by Hope not Hate when your visit with Pamela Geller was announced. I was wrong to do so but did out of habit as a supporter. No longer, they are now attacking secularists and ex-Muslims as promoting “hate”. Absurd.
Since then I have moved on from even being on the centre-left and now no longer support the Labour Party because of the takeover by the extremist and racist (anti-Semitic) left under Jeremy Corbyn.
I have previously added Jihad Watch & the Geller Report to my list of recommended blogs and recently purchased your book (I haven’t read it yet but certainly will). Today I have added your petition to my Facebook page and signed the petition. I hope one is also done for Pamela Geller.
Good luck and hope to be able to listen you over here in the UK in the not too distant future.

Is this intended for UK jihadwatchers or for persons outside the UK as well?
Because strictly speaking if one isn’t a voter within the UK , UK politicians would not necessarily pay much attention.
However, *letters* written – particularly by members of Commonwealth countries such as Canada, Australia, and India – to the UK government, or to its diplomatic representatives in our respective countries, might have some impact, if numerous enough, because of the embarrassment factor.

Robert Spencer is an expert on Islam.
It would be very interesting if people such as Tommy Robinson who are being subject to political show trials in the UK, were to call upon Mr Robert Spencer to be an expert defence witness at these trials on their behalf.
Would these trials collapse if Robert Spencer was not allowed into the UK to appear as an expert witness at these trials.
dumbledoresarmy says
That’s a very interesting suggestion.
Probably worth a try.
Another good expert witness to call, would be William Kilpatrick.
And ex-Muslim Sam Solomon.
Michael Copeland says
“Warfare against unbelievers”?
Why, yes.
“Jihad means to war against non-Muslims” and is a “communal obligation” (Manual of Islamic Law, “Reliance of the Traveller”).
The Grand Mufti of Egypt confirms this:
“Muslims must kill non-Muslims wherever they are unless they convert to Islam” – Ali Gomaa
Michael Copeland says
See “The “Unacceptable Behaviour” of Robert Spencer” at LibertyGB site:
https://libertygb.org.uk/news/unacceptable-behaviour-robert-spencer
When excluding Robert Spencer Theresa May could not even cite the law correctly. She wrote that he had made “statements that may foster hatred”. She misquoted the law. The law does not say “statements that MAY foster hatred” – an everlastingly extendable category. It says “statements which foster hatred”, a considerable difference.

Please don’t misunderstand me. I am only reporting what I saw on BBC teletext today and subsequently on the website.
I am drawing it to readers’ attention for fear of a mix up.
When I read it on the teletext I wanted to find out what it was all about for I had never heard of ‘Richard Spencer’.
With the names being so similar I knew a mix up was a possibility.
I believe steps must be taken so the UK government categorically knows that Robert and Richard are different Spencers and that the petition is concerning Robert Spencer and not the other Spencer.
Lately Geert Wilders was allowed into the UK after being banned for his opinions.
It would be great if Robert’s ban was overturned too.
It might not be if he is mixed up with Richard Spencer.

The UK’s ban of Robert Spencer is and was farcical. What’s most disturbing about it is that Spencer’s critics (e.g. the Southern Poverty Law Center) have taken every opportunity to seize upon the fact of the ban as “evidence” that Spencer is bigoted, dangerous, hateful etc. It’s not as though Spencer said that Islam is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog….

He should be allowed to go wherever he wants, including the UK. He’s a serious academic on Islam. This is something most of the imams & their followers are not. For far too long the Imams have not told the truth about this desert dogma. They don’t even know what Islam is all about.
AntiIslamicman says
I will sign it as Mr Spencer is not the problem, he’s just pointing out the problem. I don’t need a government to tell me who to listen to I make my own choices. The lefties tried to kill `Robert when he was in Iceland, they poisoned him. Thank good they never achieved their aim.
