Honor killing in NYC? Circumstances of Saudi sisters’ deaths contradict NYPD’s “suicide” claim

Nov 4, 2018 1:33 pm By Robert Spencer

It appears as if the NYPD is helping cover up what happened here. ABC News reported (as linked at Jihad Watch here): “Dermot Shea, chief of detectives for the New York City Police Department, said ‘sources’ in Virginia, where the Farea sisters had previously been living, informed investigators that the two women had been in the United States for two to three years and would ‘rather inflict harm on themselves and commit suicide than return to Saudi Arabia.'”

But how would they have duct-taped themselves together before they committed suicide?

These details point to an honor killing: “December 2017: Sisters run away and beg police not to tell mom where they were. They return back to Virginia at some stage afterwards…

August 2018: Tala is reported missing. The search is called off when police learn she is with her sister in New York City….”

An update on this story. “FIRST PICTURES: Sisters found drowned and duct-taped together had been ordered home by the Saudi government a DAY before their bodies washed up and a year after they fled to a shelter and begged police not to tell their family where they were,” by Jennifer Smith and Alana Goodman, Dailymail.com, October 31, 2018 (thanks to the Geller Report):

Police have released the first photographs of Saudi Arabian sisters who were found drowned and duct taped together in the Hudson River last week in a plea for information about their mysterious lives and murky deaths.

Tala Farea, 16, and Rotana Farea, 22, were found washed up on October 24. The sisters were living together in New York City where Rotana was studying Computer and Information Technology after recently dropping out of George Mason University in Virginia.

Their parents, Wafa’a and Abdulsalam, live in Virginia with their brothers who are 18 and 11. Abdulsalam often traveled back to Saudi Arabia for work but no information about his job has emerged.

In August, the family reported 16-year-old Tala missing after she disappeared from Virginia but the search was called off when they learned she had gone to stay with her sister in New York City.

She had recently been awarded a spot at a top private school in Saudi Arabia with a full scholarship but was desperate not to go.

It was the second time they broke off from the family.

In December last year, the pair fled to a shelter in Fairfax. The family reported them both missing.

When officers tracked them down, the sisters begged them not to tell the family where they were. What led to them returning home remains a mystery but police are focusing their investigation on the circumstances surrounding it.

Despite their repeated attempts to live independently from their parents, the family was described as ‘happy’ by Arab media outlets and were the ‘apples of their father’s eye’.

‘They were just like any one of us, they were a happy family. They were comfortable and at ease with everyone, and so the rumors that they ran away from home were beyond us. It’s impossible.

‘Their mother was naturally protective, but in no way was their household problematic for them to run away,’ they told Arab News.

They said the family was happy with Tala living with her sister who she missed dearl [sic] when she left Virginia.

‘Tala was upset for quite some time after her sister decided to continue her studies in NYC. Yes, it did cause a problem for the family as the mother had to file a missing case report to the police over her daughter’s disappearance, but the search was called off later when they found Tala was with her sister, Rotana.

‘The police told their mother that since her younger daughter was safe with an adult, it’s safe to call off the search.’

The girls only ever used Snapchat, they said, and communicated with their relatives in Saudi Arabia through it.

‘They were private and kept to themselves most of the time, but we communicated mostly via Snapchat and it wasn’t a surprise to any of us that they wouldn’t have any accounts on other social media apps,’ the unnamed family member said.

‘They were calm and always polite. All families have problems. What kind of sibling relationship would it be without fights every now and then?
TIMELINE OF SAUDI SISTERS’ LIVES AND DEATH

2015: Family moves to Fairfax, Virginia from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

December 2017: Sisters run away and beg police not to tell mom where they were. They return back to Virginia at some stage afterwards

May 2018: Oldest sister attends final classes at George Mason

August 2018: Tala is reported missing. The search is called off when police learn she is with her sister in New York City.

October 17: Mother’s last known contact with the sisters, according to relatives

October 23: Mother receives call from Saudi Consulate ordering the family home because the girls have applied for political asylum

October 24: The girls bodies are found washed up in the Hudson River

‘But that didn’t push them to the edge as the Western media is portraying,’ they added.

The NYPD has not ruled anything out.

Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea said yesterday: ‘We are looking at all clues in their past life.’

The family in Virginia is yet to speak out about their disappearance despite DailyMail.com’s repeated attempts to contact their representative.

On October 23, the girls’ mother Wafa’a received a phone call from an official at the Saudi Arabian consulate who ordered the entire family to return to their home country. It was in response to an application by the two sisters for political asylum in the United States.

Police have ruled out that the pair jumped from the George Washington Bridge in a suicide pact, a theory that was initially pushed out by police, because neither body had visible signs of trauma….

Now I’m beginning to wonder why the initial spin to his story wasn’t that they were murdered by an Islamophobe. It may evolve into that yet. Neither suicide nor honor killing looks good for Saudi Arabia, especially following the Khashoggi murder.

I am sure this is a case of honor-killing being covered up by the US authorities so as not to embarrass their Saudi allies! Arab girls of that age or indeed any age just DON”T commit suicide!

This case is indeed looking more and more like an “Honor Killing”.

But the claim that Arab girls never commit suicide is not the case.

        Here’s one horrible story:

“Moroccan teen, forced to marry her rapist, commits suicide”

        http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2013/11/22/moroccan-teen-marriedtoherrapistcommitssuicide.html

Then there is the horrifying Muslim phenomenon of Muslims pushing women and girls to commit suicide:

“How to Avoid Honor Killing in Turkey? Honor Suicide”

        https://www.nytimes.com/2006/07/16/world/europe/16turkey.html

And this does not just happen in Turkey–it is rife all over the Muslim world.

Its very curious: They did max out a credit card staying in high end NY hotels the last days. They were supposedly seen in a park by the river praying loudly with faces in hands opposite each other. They were not tightly bound together but loosely at waist-legs but did not jump off any bridge. They could not tape themselves in the water so had to somehow get in. How rushing or peaceful is the Hudson River waters? The bodies are already returned to Saudi and Buried in Medina. Saudi Embassy hired a lawyer to investigate and check on all the different accounts in various news media. Saudi embassy says the girls did not apply for asylum & did not call the mother, ordering anyone back. ??????? So I guess we will never know now.

I read they were bound together with ducktape around their feet and their waists and they were facing each other..and they were alive when they hit the water…how woul they jump in the water with their feet bound????. It’s obvious they were murdered and the police is covering up for the criminals..the family or SA agents.

I read that several people that displease SA even though they live in London, for example…
” commit suicide” ,by jumping off the window of his/her hotel room…

If this wasn’t a case of those Muslim sisters committing suicide s rather having being forced to go back to that misogynistic Islamic kingdom of Saudi Arabia but a Muslim murder of young girls in other form of Muslim misogyny which many Muslim ,so very, inappropriately call “honor killing” is indeed a heinous evil and an affront to all the is truly and really decent honorable good and right.

If this is actually the real reason that those two girls died. it further exposes just how vicious dangerous actual hard hard non-watered down Islam reality is.

If this is what happened to those girls in New York City. the Brigitte Gabriel was 100 % right when she had written in the book THEY MUST BE STOPPED “Honor killings have also come to the West thanks to the rise of Islamic immigration.” page 176.

Indeed, they must be stopped !

I don’t think much of Dermot Shea’s detective skills. Those poor girls were **duct taped together*. Any detective worth their salt would have immediately been on the alert for *murder*. These poor girls were ‘honour murdered’, I’m positive.

    • gravenimage says

Yes–I wondered how easy it would be for suicide victims to duct tape themselves together.

      • mortimer says

        Nov 4, 2018 at 6:57 pm

The manner in which the tape was wrapped would tell the detective if a third person applied it.

The detectives must know and they are being told not to speak. They are still defending Islam from criticism even though Obama is gone.

There is no punishment in Sharia law for a parent who honor kills children or grandchildren.

The part about duct-taping has been bothered me too. Unless a completely objective forensic study is done (if there hasn’t already been interference with the evidence by “interested” parties (I mean you, De Blasio), this event sounds more like a murder cover-up.
I recall cases where women are lured back to their homes, so the family can judge and execute them. And what is this about S.A. “ordering” the family home? This sounds like old-time KGB practice. These girls need justice! Where are the SJW’s and feminists now?

The family denies any abuse charges and has been described as a “loving family”.
The Sowdi Govt. denies ever ordering the family to return home.
If they “jumped” surely there are cameras on the bridge to record it.

I am sure something as simple as proof the girls drown or were dead before their bodies were dump into the river could be established. If their they were beaten to death , or strangled or poisoned or drugged very hard to duct tape yourselves face to face at feet and waist and throw yourselves into the river if you are unconscious from drugs. There are many surveillance cameras in Manhattan ,how did they get to that park ,what time were they spotted there ect, how can a detective make a statement to the press before all of the facts are gathered “nothing to see here folks move along normal two sad girls ducted tape together suicide case solved” and the family of the girls are OK with this ?

“But how would they have duct-taped themselves together before they committed suicide?”

It just happens naturally, post fist-fights, it is, we could say, just a corollary to such.

“October 23: Mother receives call from Saudi Consulate ordering the family home because the girls have applied for political asylum.

“October 24: The girls bodies are found washed up in the Hudson River.”

Why did the Saudi Consulate order the family to return to Saudi Kingdom? They (SC) answered: “because the girls have applied for political asylum.”

Reports state, Saudi Consulate denied making the above mentioned call that the mother states she received from them.

    Why the denial?

(“‘… embassy spokesperson Fatimah Baeshen denied the allegation. “Reports that we ordered anyone related to the Saudi sisters, Tala and Rotana Farea, God rest their souls, (who recently died tragically in NY), to leave the US for seeking asylum; are absolutely false.’”https://www.newsweek.com/saudi-arabia-not-involved-mysterious-death-sisters-new-york-embassy-official-1200325; and elsewhere.)

Most probable answer: these young girls wanted freedom not only of SKA restrictions, but also freedom from restrictions of the Nation/ummah of Muhammad.

Therefore, as such, these girls were guilty of treason to the Islamic State. Thus, in that guilt, by Qur’anic and Islamic measures, they have forfeited right to life and property. In brief.

I take it they were not here permanently so they applied for asylum. I guess they knew Saudi would find out. No one said anything about whether or not asylum was denied or what was happening with it. If they had hope asylum might be granted, they would not kill themselves. So was it denied? Were parents contacted? Was Saudi contacted? A problem is media never gives us enough info because I think they want us to guess all kinds of conspiracies and maybes or could be’s and really get entangled into it. And, we do not know what body parts were bound together. The first thing that comes to mind is tape all the way around both but that is not explained. Was it just around the waist, or legs or arms? Its hard but no conclusions can be drawn until they tell us more.

  16. Tom says

    Nov 5, 2018 at 10:40 am

The pivotal question is, were these girls duct taped in such a manner that caused them to be bound with hands clasped together, or was the duct tape binding them in a way that allowed their hands to remain free.
Were their mouths also covered with duct tape or residue from duct tape.

While one can bind ones own hands using the mouth and then cover the mouth with duct tape, what would be the point if one were committed to suicide.

One other theory not yet espoused is the possibility of a murder/suicide by one girl on the other. Binding the victims hands then also binding the victim to the murderer to prevent any chance of escape.

While honor killing is used in Islam, unless we are sure of the facts it only damages our credibility as opponents of Islam to jump to conclusions.
