In rushing to show how much they oppose the Saudis after their killing of their pro-jihad “journalist” Jamal Khashoggi, the Washington Post has embraced Iran, its clients the Houthis, and the Shi’ite jihad.
“WashPo contributor Mohammed al-Houthi pictured with rifle in past interviews,” Al Arabiya, November 11, 2018 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
Users on Twitter were able to unearth past photos and videos of Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, the controversial Yemeni militant leader who published an op-ed piece on the Washington Post, showing him with his gun as he conducted televised interviews.

Wa-Po takes away the platform of American conservatives defending free speech, but offers one to an ISLAMIC TERRORIST Mohammed al-Houthi who is a vigilante for censorship.
Smooth moooooove, Wa-Po.
Renate says
This is why I like MBS.
gravenimage says
Why? He is responsible for silencing and murdering journalists, as well.
Renate says
Khashoggi was more Muslim Brotherhood than he was a “journalist”. MBS doesn’t back Hezbollah like Iran does. MBS doesn’t back Hamas like Muslim Brotherhood does.
gravenimage says
Renate, I am *no* fan of Khashoggi–I am even less a fan of his being tortured to death, though. This is not how an even vaguely free and civilized state acts.
Renate says
gravenimage, Khashoggi was Muslim Brotherhood. His BFF back in the day, was Osama bin Laden. I say, “Live by the sword, die by the sword.” Erdogan’s no angel either. The Brotherhood backs Hamas and how many people have Hamas killed with their rockets and God only know what else? The Saudis have Sharia law, but so would the Muslim Brotherhood have Sharia law. Another thing is that lots of countries don’t do things the way we do in the West. At least twice I’ve heard news reports of Russia putting radioactive substances in the food of dissidents who had escaped to foreign lands. All that happens is that the foreign country expels Russian diplomats and Russia returns the favour. Then it’s business as usual. I don’t think nuking someone is particularly civilized, but if you notice, nobody ever demands that Putin loose his job. You have to wonder whether there is a civilized way to kill people anyway.

Renate, as I noted, I was no fan of Khashoggi. This still does not explain why you like the man responsible for having him tortured to death, though.

I have never expressed support for Erdogan, the Muslim Brotherhood, or Hamas–just the opposite, in fact–so I’m unclear what your point is here. I oppose Jihad, and these are all Jihadists.
More:
The Saudis have Sharia law, but so would the Muslim Brotherhood have Sharia law.

This is true–so why would you like MBS? I hate Shari’ah law wherever it is imposed. MBS has posed as a reformer, but his reforms have been pretty much window dressing at best–although many in the West are ever hopeful that this is something more.

Saying “lots of countries don’t do things the way we do in the West” is an admission that many parts of the world are barbaric hell holes. This is not actually a good thing. Journalists–and even biased “journalists”–should not be murdered *anywhere*. Lack of freedom of speech is not a laudable or even excusable thing.
Russia is bad; most parts of Dar-al-Islam are even worse. I don’t think that any of this is what the civilized West should aspire to, or even spout apologia for.
The main reason I oppose Jihad and Shari’ah is to defend our own civilized values, that we have developed and fought for over the course of centuries.
Renate says
gravenimage, I’m not suggesting for a moment that you are supportive of anything to do with jihad. Also, I much prefer the civilization that I grew up in to anything a Sharia law society has to offer. I watched many of the interviews that MBS did when he was on his tour of the West. I liked what he said and I very much wanted to believe that he would follow through on his plans. He is in a very tough part of the world. President Trump said something similar to that about the Middle East in the Oval Office recently. If MBS will just follow through on his vision for 2030, it may be the beginning of peace for the world. I want to believe him and I don’t see the Mullahs or Erdogan or the Muslim Brotherhood offering anything good to the civilized world. I am hoping that MBS will.
gravenimage says
OK, Renate–I wish he was a reformer, as well. I hope you aren’t holding your breath, though.
Renate says
I won’t hold my breath, but I am hoping he is good for his word.

bin salman al saud and the wahabbi ulema in saudi barbaria enforce hanbali sharia, which is the most restrictive of the 4 major sunni schools of sharia. khashoggi was, and the saudi royals are, essentially thugs with a western veneer of respectability (for those who know nothing of either them or islam), but as GI noted, no murders are OK. yes, this is one repulsive, lying thug killing another repulsive, lying thug, and it is indeed unfortunate that most free people will remain ignorant of that fact. all we can do is spread the news every time somebody brings it up – even if the poor uneducated tools with whom we are dealing attack us in return, rather than attempt to engage in discussion.
Renate says
It doesn’t help to inform the public when the media reports on the demise of Mr. Khashoggi as though he were simply a “journalist” fighting for freedom of expression. He wasn’t a fair-haired little angel. Far from it.
gravenimage says
One can acknowledge how bad Khashoggi was without lauding his murderers. It is possible to condemn both:
“Jamal Khashoggi Was a Victim of Saudi Terror. He Was Also a Keen Supporter of Palestinian Terrorism”

gravenimage, we have to wait until the investigation wraps up into the murder. Even Prince al-Waleed bin Talal will tell you about the fake news that gets passed around.

gravenimage says
Saudi Arabia has already admitted that he was murdered. That a Saudi hit squad jetted off to Turkey on their own recognizance seems pretty implausible, though.
Renate says
It does seem implausible at this time.

The Washington Post for the Washington Swamp, sinking into the muck.

Quote: “Al-Houthi is implicated in issuing directives for killing more than 26 Yemeni journalists, while there are 16 journalists until this day in detention centers.”
Why would any journalist have any kind words for this journalist-killing monster?
gravenimage says
Washington Post op-ed contributor ordered deaths of 26 journalists in Yemen jihad
…………………..
Well, this is just horrifying–but does not surprise. The Washington Post is offering itself for use as a platform by Jihadists.
mortimer says
Horrifying… yes. Not only did Wa-Po not CONDEMN this homicidal criminal, but they GAVE HIM A JOB… thus, Wa-Po is complicit in the MURDER and ARBITRARY IMPRISONMENT of JOURNALISTS.
Wa-Po has shown itself to be the FRIEND OF DICTATORS and of CENSORSHIP.
JSStryker says
WAPO’s support for dictators goes back to the 1930’s

JSStryker, I know that the New York Times supported Fascism. Was the same true of the Washington Post?
abu taleb says
Most people only care other lives when it benefits them, unfortunately. But pretending that they care on public or media is just a pure hyprocrisy.
gravenimage says
This is too cynical, abu taleb. Of course, everyone cares most for people close to them–but not everyone who expresses care for the lives of others is a hypocrite.
This is true of much of what is posted on Jihad Watch–many of us *really do* care about the victims of Jihad, wherever they are.

Some one should send this to Jim Acosta. He can be grateful he is still alive.

The Washington Post would gladly put Hitler on their op-ed page in 1931 or Stalin in 1938 to signal they were hip to new ideas of that time that were anti-American in their time. If Jihads and Islam is anti-Christian anti Jewish, anti Western they are willing to run and pay ,print, and kiss the asses of these murdering, pro-raping , pro-thieving, pieces of shit. The editors of all MSM newspaper, TV reporters, and internet bloggers would be the first to have their heads on the Islamic chopping block if the Jihads came to power here.

*Did* the Washington Post do this? I haven’t been able to find anything on the Washington Post’s policies at the time.
