Asia Bibi, the Christian woman in Pakistan who was accused of blasphemy, sentenced to hang, and finally acquitted by the Supreme Court after spending eight years in solitary confinement, in an 8’ by 10’ prison cell, is still being held by the government, now for her own safety, somewhere in Pakistan. Meanwhile, Muslim mobs in that country, baying for her blood, have been searching for her, in order to carry out the sentence they think she deserves.
In early November, Bibi’s husband, Ashiq Masih, begged Prime Minister Theresa May to grant asylum for his wife and family: “I am requesting the prime minister of Britain to help us exit Pakistan and give us asylum if she can,” he told the Guardian. May did not respond. And what we know now is that Theresa May herself blocked the granting of asylum to Bibi, even overruling the British Home Secretary Sajid Javid, who had said that Bibi should be given refuge in the U.K.
When Theresa May was asked by MP Zac Goldsmith if she had “personally intervened” to prevent the government from offering asylum, she gave an evasive answer, replying that he “shouldn’t necessarily believe everything he reads in the paper.” That is not a denial. She added that her primary concern was “the safety of Asia Bibi and her family.” Does she think that Asia Bibi is safer in Pakistan than she would be in the U.K.? May is not thinking of Asia Bibi at all, but only about her own possible tribulations as prime minister, should Muslims in the U.K., enraged by the arrival of Bibi and her family, erupt in violence. That is something she doesn’t want to have to deal with, and consequently, is willing to turn aside the pleas made on behalf of Asia Bibi and her family, who remain in a state of maximum peril.
Theresa May is the daughter of a Church of England vicar, Reverend Hubert Brasier. She grew up as a devout Christian in Oxfordshire. She was an active Christian, so involved in parish life that she often taught Sunday school classes. Interviewed on Desert Island Discs, she chose as her favorite church music the hymn “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross,” sung by a chapel congregation. She recalled being alone in church with her parents, kneeling and singing together.
So what kind of Christian did Theresa May, the devout hymn-singing vicar’s daughter, turn out to be? Not a very good Christian, I’m afraid, in turning her back on Asia Bibi and her family, leaving them to endure still more torment, with Bibi herself needing constant protection against those hundreds of thousands of maddened Muslims who would gladly murder her, while her family members live in terror of being killed themselves.
And while she prevents Asia Bibi and her family from settling in the U.K., and has continued to bar islamocritics such as Robert Spencer from visiting the U.K., Theresa May’s government has allowed in several preachers of Jihad. Robert Spencer notes that among them have been Syed Muzaffar Shah Qadri, whose “preaching of hatred and jihad violence was so hardline that he was banned from preaching in Pakistan, but the UK Home Office welcomed him into Britain.” And “the UK Home Office recently admitted Shaykh Hamza Sodagar into the country, despite the fact that he has said: ‘If there’s homosexual men, the punishment is one of five things. One – the easiest one maybe – chop their head off, that’s the easiest. Second – burn them to death. Third – throw ’em off a cliff. Fourth – tear down a wall on them so they die under that. Fifth – a combination of the above.’”
Now the lawyer for Asia Bibi, Saif ul-Malook, who has risked his life by representing her, and remains under a permanent death threat for having done so, has applied for asylum in the U.K. In his first interview with a British newspaper, ul-Malook criticized the Prime Minister, insisting that she “should be a brave prime minister while deciding about Asia Bibi’s case, instead of taking into consideration what may or may not happen. As far as Asia is concerned, I am certain the apprehensions are ill-founded. Bring her here [to England] and give her to me. I will keep her safe.”
Theresa May could still change her mind, and offer asylum to Bibi and her family. It would be a dramatic moment:
“After careful consideration, I have decided that Asia Bibi and her family should be granted asylum, and admitted to the United Kingdom. My government’s previous rejection of her family’s appeal was, quite simply, wrong. I was wrong, for in the end it was my decision, one that I now deeply regret. Asia Bibi spent eight years in solitary confinement, in a tiny cell, under a sentence of death, until finally being acquitted. She has endured enough. There are those, and I was one of them, who worried about the reaction of extremists in this country should she be given asylum. I also worried about attacks on our diplomats abroad. But I now realize we cannot allow ourselves to make policy on the basis of such fears. We cannot allow the extremists to win. I will be pleased, as prime minister, to welcome Asia Bibi and her family to our country.”
Is there much of a chance that Theresa May might have such a change of heart? Most unlikely, given her record of appeasing Muslims, but on the other hand, strange things happen every day. Perhaps this vicar’s daughter will prove to be, in the case of Asia Bibi, a good Christian after all.

Asia Bibi is inconvenient because she is the poster child of the free speech issue. No where is speech as persecuted as in Islamic countries.
Her unjust punishment is a glaring example of DISCRIMINATORY SHARIA LAW.
Sharia law removes the human rights and civil liberties of women and ‘others’.

(…Can Theresa May Change Her Mind About Asia Bibi?…)
THE ANSWER IS NO!
Western liberal globalist elites like Theresa May that love Islamist, including Islamic jihadists, hate Christianity and Christians with passion! I absolutely see NOOO difference between Theresa May and ISIS leaders such as Al-Baghdadi! THEY ARE ONE AND THE SAME! Actually ISIS leaders like Al-Baghdadi who are fighting for the dominance of their cult of death deserve more respect than the spineless liberal globalist elites like Theresa May!
gravenimage says
Theresa May here is a craven coward, no doubt–but the claim that she is the same as Al-Baghdadi–who has used Christians as sex slaves–is quite false.
Asia Bibi’s lawyer, Saiful Malook has fled to The Netherlands, and he has filed a bid for asylum for Asia Bibi and her family there:
“Asia Bibi, the Christian Pakistani woman acquitted of blasphemy, seeks asylum in the Netherlands, lawyer says”
https://www.cnn.com/2018/11/08/asia/asia-bibi-pakistan-asylum-intl/index.html
Note that most nations have shamefully failed to offer her asylum–including, of course, Russia as well.
David Pimentel says
GI,
I’m torn. I consider those individuals who are guilty omitting truth to be equivalent to those that promote a lie. Likewise, I believe that those who are too cowardly to stand up for what is Right are equally guilty of wrongdoing as those who promote any evil that needs to be opposed. That said, Theresa May is more likely equivalent to that of Chamberlain during World War II.
The sad and unfortunate truth is that no leadership in the world has deigned to offer asylum to Asia Bibi and her family. Rather, here in the United States, our leaders idiotically squabble over a migrant problem of our own at the Mexican border. It would seem that there is no hope for accountability in the leadership Western countries.

David, I am *no* fan of the egregious Theresa May, nor do I make light of the harm she is doing to Britain.
But just as Chamberlain was an appalling appeaser of evil, he was not evil in the same way that Hitler himself was. There are grades of wrong.

Teresa could reverse her decision on Aasia, only because she has only a handful of days left in power. She has lost all political support and the last remaining friend she now has is her Faith.
If she abandons Aasia then she is is abandoning her last friend.
She would be totally alone in the world.
Just like Aasai was for 6 solitary years.
Stan Lore says
Have other countries offered her asylum? Why has the US not done so?
mortimer says
Because, Stan, they would then have to receive millions of Christian refugees from everywhere.
Mark Spahn (West Seneca, NY) says
I too wonder whether the Prime Minister, or anyone else in the British government, has considered the argument that if the UK allows anyone to enter Britain just by virtue of being a persecuted Christian, Pakistan will experience mass conversions and will become depopulated as the new Christians all move to Britain.
Lilith Wept says
I doubt it, as most moslwms are convinced they are the best of people and the Koran tells them, to ever convert.
And why not allow those persecuted Christians from Islamic countries to migrate to western countries tries? They would be fleeing for their lives so they fit the definition of a refugee.
And since they are NOT moslems they don’t have the Koran commands that cause moslms to have an adversion towards assimilation.
And since Christians are so badly persecuted in Islamic countries as well as kept in positions of extrem poverty, the worse kinds of work etc. , I would say any Christians we allowed in our countries would be very grateful to be allowed asylum here.
I believe that those Christians would be very happy and grateful ,to know they are free from the Islamic persecution, of living in a country where they can openly and freely practice their faith . . I believe that they are Christians and a part of a family of Christians in the US would certainly help those persecuted Christians to feel at home and assimilate quickly.
And I imagine those Christians would be grateful for the opportunity to get an education for their children and the opportunity of working hard and being able to prosper. They are certainly no stranger to working hard, at least here , of they work hard, they will see the results of that labour rewarded.
.
I don’t see a problem with welcoming people like that into America and making them citizens. believe they would assimilate much as other groups of refugees have assimilated.of course not everyone would assimilate, as with every group you have those who dome work, don’t make the effort…but these people are genuinely being persecuted, being killed every day.
And their Holy Book isn’t commanding them to stay aloof, that they are superiormoeople and shouldn’t assimilate into the culture of inferiours As the Koran tells the moslems….

THE POPE is the one who should immediately offer asylum to the Christian Asia Bibi and family, in the Vatican.
THE POPE stated in 2016 it was the Christian DUTY to welcome refugees who were homeless.
But THE POPE’s holier-than-thou statements telling ordinary people what to do don’t apply to him, they aren’t worth the paper they are written on.
He does nothing for persecuted Christians but brings Moslems to the Vatican !
This Papacy is worse than worthless.

How about :” The Pope is Holy unfit for the job!”
David Pimentel says
The pope is not holy. The pope is just wholly unfit for his job description.

What is sacrosanct in seeking asylum in Britain for Asia Bibi at a time when Europe in general and Britain in particular have been cowed into capitulation by Islam? Asia Bibi’s life is still in danger as long as she remains in Pakistan. I wish her handlers apply for asylum for her and her family in the US.

It’s a disgrace and indictment of Christians that Atheists, Agnostics and Secularists are eager to help this woman while Christians ignore practical samaritan help to a neighbor, who is even a fellow believer, and who has fallen into the hands of robbers. The only comfort for this confessing Christian woman, asking other Christians to pray for her, I hope, is, that if she is punished with death in the Muslim court system of Pakistan, she exemplifies a true martyr in contrast to Muslim suicide bombers, who know no neighbors.

So Teresa May refuses to grand asylum to terribly persecuted Christian women Asia Bibi and her family This should really surprise no to informed person. As in the apologetic way Teresa May had attempted to hide in cover-up heinous and murderous affronts of Islamic terrorism in England since she had obtained office in the British government ,who’s side is she really on? As for the question asked in the article of this site which is “What kind of Christian did Teresa May …turn out to be ?” The answer is she is a type of “Christian” who is traitorous to God and nation ,as in she more fittingly follows the example of Judas Iscariot than the teachings and example of Jesus.
As for Pakistan the vicious and malicious Islamic hate felt by Muslims ,in Pakistan ,towards this Christian women , Asia Bibi, is a tragic reflection of the whole picture of the awful and huge conflict between Christianity and Islam. As explained by the Christian author, William Wagner,, in his book which is entitled HOW ISLAM PLANS TO CHANGE THE WORLD had explained on page 155 about a meeting that he had with a Muslim cleric , which reads “Several years ago one Imam told me that ,prior to 1990, the greatest enemy to Islam was Communism but now it is the Christian missions.” Further, on page 208 the Wagner had written about some zealous Muslims that “They have failed to stop Christian missions. They see Christian missions as their number one enemy.” On the very next page the reader is informed that “Christianity remains the number one buffer against Islam, a fact readily recognized by those who seek a world wild ummah.” [1]

TM is constantly evasive, it’s her trademark. She is about to be evasive again when she signs us up to the UN Migration Pact. There is a silver lining though: Aasia Bibi and her lawyer can rebrand themselves as migrants and fly to the UK clutching their copy of the Migration Pact. If the border guards deny them entry, they can say “Look, it sez ‘ere that it’s our ‘uman right”.
ann says
How likely is it that Asia Bibi and her family are already in the US? It would be disastrous for Pakistan if they were harmed or killed in Pakistan at this point. Wouldn’t they want to get her out of the country? If the US had taken her, wouldn’t there be absolute silence about it? What’s the point of borrowing trouble? I hope they are all safe here and recovering from their ordeal.

Theresa May is a very weird woman She is holding out for her ridiculous “Deal” with the EU, despite the fact that it gives UK nothing in the way of freedom, we still remain tied and under the EU rule, but with her deal we then forfeit all right to be involved in the decision making.
She is either mad, or in the pay of the EU. Most people think the latter and she has been promised a golden handshake in the region of 50 million to get it ;through.
One cannot believe how she has the gall to stand up day after day and lie about this deal, to hide the legal advice received by the Government, be found guilty of contempt of Parliament and still keep banging on about her wretched deal.
Unless, of course one considers her background. This brazen contempt for honesty, lack of integrity, the deceit and bare faced lying might all become explainable if one reads up on her grandfather and father. Incidentally it is said that when at the Home Office she tried to have all mention of him wiped from the internet.
