Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Indonesia: Google approves app enabling Muslims to report people who commit blasphemy

Dec 10, 2018 7:10 am By Robert Spencer

Why not? After all, Anwar Awlaki’s al-Qaeda recruitment lectures were offered in Google Play store app. And in 2017, Texas imam Omar Suleiman made a successful effort to compel Google to drop search results about Islam-related terms and topics that reflected negatively upon Islam. Turkey’s Anadolu Agency reported happily: “Google’s first page results for searches of terms such as ‘jihad’, ‘shariah’ and ‘taqiyya’ now return mostly reputable explanations of the Islamic concepts. Taqiyya, which describes the circumstances under which a Muslim can conceal their belief in the face of persecution, is the sole term to feature a questionable website on the first page of results.”

“Reputable”: i.e., acceptable under the Sharia prohibition on criticism of Islam. “Questionable website”: i.e., one that tells hard truths about Islam and jihad.

So this Sharia-friendly stance at Google has been going on for quite some time.

“Google Approves App For Muslims To Report People Who Commit Blasphemy,” by Laura Loomer, Big League Politics, December 9, 2018:

A new Android app has launched with the focus of allowing Muslims to report individuals who commit blasphemy, or insult Islam.

No, this is not a joke. The app, “Smart Pakem”, which launched in Indonesia last month at the request of the Indonesian government, will allow users and government officials to uphold Sharia law and target and report people who hold “misguided” beliefs in violation of Islamic law, which forbids insults of Islam, insults against the Prophet Mohammed, or the recognition of any other religion besides Islam.

Indonesia is the largest Muslim country in the world, with an estimated Muslim population of 207 million.

Indonesia’s criminal code prohibits blasphemy, which is defined as “the act or offense of speaking sacrilegiously about God or sacred things”.

The Code’s Article 156(a) targets those who deliberately, in public, “express feelings of hostility, hatred, or contempt against religion”. The penalty for violating Article 156(a) of Indonesia’s criminal code is a maximum of five years imprisonment.

Rajan Anandan, who serves as the VP of Google in south-east Asia, has not shown any resistance to the app, which is available in the Google app store.

The National Secular Society (NSS) has since written to Anadan requesting the Google not stock the app in the app store, arguing that the app will have negative consequences for religious minorities and will further minimize freedom of expression….

NSS, which works to repeal blasphemy laws around the world, strongly condemned Indonesia’s blasphemy law.

“Indonesia’s blasphemy law is a morally unjustifiable tool of repression which should be repealed as soon as possible. While this law exists anyone who believes in free expression should make it as difficult as possible for the Indonesian government to enforce the law. Google has greatly benefited from the freedom to share information globally. We ask it and other multinational companies to consider whether they can in good conscience profit from the repression caused by governments’ crackdowns on free speech.”…

The evil genies of Islam are already out of the bottle exposed for all the world to see, and no apps approved by Google or any other damage controlling instrument can put them back in the bottle.

      Encouraging stuff, Ben. Thank you.

I just wish these genies would runt their course, and finish exposing themselves a little quicker:islam is spreading, and spreading quickly.

Time is short. And Americans are not learning any lessons from the mistakes and misfortunes of their friends across the Atlantic.

Orwell could have written about google apps in his novels, what could make it easier to report people to big brother. Want to rob a rich neighbor of his land report him committing blasphemy ,mad at the people down the block for parking their car in front of your house report them committing blasphemy, a co -worker gets promoted instead of you report him committing blasphemy. This is why Islamic run societies are can not function they are forever worry about everyones else business but their own .Indonesia seems to happy to throw its economy down the sh*ttter to be Islamic complaint .Go down the rabbit hole of Sharia law, economic paralysis ,it works so well in much of the Middle East, Africa , and other parts of Asia.

The pinnacle of free speech in the Muslim universe is the mind numbing, bewitching recitations of the Koran by possessed enchanters, and that’s where the blasphemy comes from, now sought protected by law.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his Gen Z staff are truly clueless about Islam. Doesn’t this app violate some “community standard” or other?

    • b.a. freeman says

      Dec 10, 2018 at 2:47 pm

Roland, U have to face it; *NOBODY* is that stupid. it might be possible that zuckerberg or a few others at the top are that stupid, but it is extremely unlikely; instead, anybody who really knows islam there must keep his mouth shut, in his private life as well as at work, since saying anything ill of it anywhere will guarantee termination. more than likely, the bottom of the pyramid – the younger folks – are clueless, having been indoctrinated rather than educated, but the top is almost certainly filled with nazis. they *KNOW* that islam is evil, and are carefully using it to destroy society so that a new people’s republic can be built upon the ashes – and the dead bodies – of the current society. they have blood on their hands.

that said, i have no proof of evil intent, nor does anybody else. thus, it is *IMPERATIVE* that free people do *NOTHING* that is illegal. a republic only stands when almost all people obey almost all the laws almost all the time. we are all human, and will make mistakes, but we must all strive for that goal. if the law is not obeyed or enforced, government rule will revert to rule by the strong for the benefit of the strong. therefore, those who disobey the law contribute to the destruction of the republic. nevertheless, chaos and death from attacks by devout muslims will inevitably spread, which is what the left wants. once folks can’t carry out the chores of daily life, they will welcome imposition of martial law. and who is always in control of government, regardless of which party happens to be ruling? the left, of course, so when martial law is imposed, the people’s republic will follow shortly. when martial law can’t solve the muslim problem, *THAT* will be the the signal that the republic is dead, and that those who murdered her need to be punished, and *THAT* will be the point at which patriots must water the tree of liberty – with the blood of traitors. but *NOT* until that time.

Yes the app encourage violence against people “perceived as committing blasphemy” it advocates making a perceived insult against Islam a crime punishable in many cases as a death sentence. What is a perceived blasphemy is in the eyes of the beholder look what happen to Bibi in Pakistan riots over drinking water at a community well. Lets make everyone fear big brother allah believers and non-believers alike..

Anyway, Google has a virtual monopoly. Either it must stop censoring anyone, or it must be broken up. Same for Facebook, Twitter, Youtube.

Pathetic! Islam invites open criticism. All of its flaws, inaccuracies & Fascism should be exposed for all. Most Muslims don’t even know what it entails.

    • KWJ says

      Dec 10, 2018 at 5:34 pm

Right. Most Muslims don’t know their religion that well and the people in power do such as the oil countries on the Persian Gulf. Some Muslims can be the nicest people believing in a more “gentle” Islam, but it doesn’t matter because way too many imams and preachers do know such as the Muslim Brotherhood who President Sisi overthrew because “they would change our culture,” that is a stringent sharia law based society. Islamic countries don’t flourish. The oil countries have subsisted on oil mainly.

Indonesia: Google approves app enabling Muslims to report people who commit blasphemy
    ……………………..

*Sickening* enabling of crushing of freedom of speech by Google.

*This* is what they are enabling–here are just a couple of cases from this year:

In August 2018, Meiliana, a Buddhist woman was sentenced to 18 months in prison for religious blasphemy. Meliana was accused of blasphemy against Islam for her complaint in July 2016 about the loudspeaker volume of a mosque near her house in Tanjung Balai City, North Sumatra Province. Her comment triggered the worst anti-Chinese riot in the country since 1998, with Muslims who claimed to have been offended by her words. Several Buddhist temples were burned or ransacked in Tanjung Balai…

In May 2018 Abraham Ben Moses, also known as Saifuddin Ibrahim, a Christian cleric who converted from Islam, was sentenced to 4 years in court for religious defamation and fined 50 million rupiah for proselytizing his Christian faith to a Muslim.

  18. Nona says

    Dec 11, 2018 at 6:28 am

So! The world is retrograding instead of Evolving!

There will be no freedom of Speech, or thought. No new ideas. No comparisons / discussion of philosophie. Now, “peasants” will be spying on each other. And at the drop of a wrong syllable or thoughtless word, instant murder will be committed.

Can you imagine the murder stats will go up there? A new game in town.

  19. IanB says

    Dec 11, 2018 at 7:19 am

    Dear Google,

Islam is a totalitarian, supremacist, violent death cult with a 1400 year recorded, authentic history of mass murder, rape, pillage and subjugation.
The Koran is a book of fear, hatred and evil.
The so-called prophet of Islam, Mohammed, was a murderer, plunderer, rapist, torturer, assassin, misogynist, paedophile according to Islamic literature and also a self-confessed terrorist. Evidenced by Islamic literature he was a narcissistic psychopath according to the criteria of the Dr. Robert Hare Psychopathy Check List Revised (PCL-R).
“Allah”, father of three daughters, was a moon god of the pagans of Arabia before Mohammed appropriated it to be the glove puppet of his fake religion. “Allah” and the “God” of the Christians have no correlation.
This is not “insulting Islam”. It is the truth.
    Yours sincerely,
    IanB

    • Dave says

      Dec 13, 2018 at 12:08 pm

IanB, I couldn’t have put it better myself. Brilliant! Yes it is the truth, however that does not matter to muslims. In their eyes, you are still being offensive and insulting by your true remarks.

So now there is a contradiction: Is quoting the Koran insulting to muslims? Or is it not?

  20. IanB says

  21. Anne says

Seems Google technology, developed in a free society, now aims to serve totalitarians. Wait until “blasphemy” expands to un-Islamic behavior and the Islamic world will see an expansion of prisons. Were it not for Trump’s embargo the Iranian Mullah’s would subscribe. Moreover, Google Dragonfly aims to help the Chinese regime track search inquiries.

Well the muslims are committing blasphemy at all times. I have a friend who speaks arabic and he said that Allahu Akbar means that: allah is greater than God. To us christians it is a blasphemy, a big one.
So we should report it when we hear it, specially when it is always used in terror attacks.

    • Dave says

      Dec 13, 2018 at 12:14 pm

Try and make that stick in court (It may be a Sharia Court!) Actually I believe it means “God is greater” (God as in Allah, not the Christian God) It seems that Allah has all the attributes of Satan.
