Here is yet another installment in our ongoing series, Why We Don’t See More Sincere Islamic Reformers.
“‘A death Fatwa was issued against me’: Australian ‘imam of peace’ goes into hiding after Islamic preacher from Pakistan calls for him to be killed,” Daily Mail Australia, December 16, 2018:
A ‘fake’ Australian imam has claimed an Islamic preacher from Pakistan called for him to be killed.
Mohammad Tawhidi tweeted the death fatwa that was issued against him by Mufti Ahmad Raza Sialvi, with photos of the call to kill on Sunday morning.
‘Yesterday, a death Fatwa was issued against me by Mufti Sialvi of Pakistan,’ his tweet read.
‘First, I thank the officials who contacted me expressing their concerns and support.
‘I’ve put all future meetings and events on hold until further notice. I’ll come out of this much stronger.’
Also known as an ‘imam of peace’ Tawhidi shared the translation of the death fatwa, which is a ruling on a point of Islamic law given by a recognized authority.
‘Sharia Law Fatwa,’ the translation began, ‘In the Name of Allah.
‘It has been reported from Imam Malik that whoever insults the companions of Prophet Mohammad: Abu Bakr, Omar, Othman, Muawiya and considers them deviant has become a Kafir (disbeliever) and must be killed.
‘Based on this, Mohammad Tawhidi of Australia has disbelieved and is no longer part of the Islamic Nation; and it is prohibited to buy or his book.

Islam Moslem canon lawyer Mufti Ahmad Raza Sialvi in Pakistan commits conspiracy to commit murder of Islam Mosem Imam Mohammad Twahidi in Australia. Religion of conspiracy to commit murder. Religion of murder killing.
Walter Sieruk says
It’s an awful vicious thing to do as to call for the death of a man who is only engaging is an unrealistic goal of “reforming Islam.” That imam who wants to reform Islam might, very much, be sincere in his quest of the to have a “reformation of Islam” is not actually possible, it’s an action of futility but that to no excuse or reason to kill him.
It should be noted that Islam can’t be changed from violent and deadly to non –violent and peaceful because the very core essence of Islam is that of violence and killing. As found in the Quran 9:121, 5:33, 9:5, 111, 47:4. The very best that may be realistically hopped for would be a watered-down type of Islam is mild and non-violent.
This is in contrast to hard core Quran based Islam which is the violent and murderous Islam practice Muslim jihad terror organizations, as ISIS ,Al Qaeda , Hezbollah ,Hamas and so forth .
To put this in another way, the Bible informs its reader “What is crooked cannot be made straight, and what is lacking cannot be numbered.” Ecclesiastes 1 :15. [N.K.J.N.] Therefore this verse may be understood when applying it to the idea of folly of “reforming Islam” As in, “What is crooked cannot be made straight in. “The violent nature can’t be straighten to be made non-violent” and “what is lacking cannot be numbered” may be understood as “Such a violent and hate-filled religion is lacking in love and compassion and thus can’t be numbered or counted as a truly peaceful religion.”
Still, no one should be murdered for the folly of attempting to “reform Islam.”

That ain’t the issue, the issue is why does this so called “Imam of Peace” Tawhidi still support the same ideology that justifies him being killed? And why doesn’t this Tawhidi guy explain how he disagrees point by point with the fatwa (probably because he can’t).
Angry Aussie says
Imam Tawhidi is the real deal. He is not a fraud. He is highly intelligent and respected by most Australians that know him or know of him. Of course the terrorist types don’t like him.
I have met and spoken with Imam Tawhidi. He is sincere. He is also very aware of flaws in scripture relied on by many as being accurate.
The world needs people like Imam Tawhidi. He doesn’t want sharia law in Western nations and speaks out against it and the rapid islamisation of the West.
I like him because he is in a position to influence the thoughts and minds of young Muslims. If he abandoned his robes, he would have less impact on people. Authorities don’t listen to any of us now, but they do listen to him.
He is the only Imam in Australia that I would back.
Tawhidi thinks very logically. He is quick witted and very funny. He is Shia, which is why the Sunni call him a fake. He is very well educated, unlike the Sunni that wake up one day and decide to be an imam.
Lynda Hynes says
Well said, ‘Angry Aussie’. Imam Tawhidi is genuine and courageous. His somewhat unusual interpretation of Islam is perfectly compatible with Western values and democracy. If they were all like Imam Tawhidi, there would be no need for Jihad Watch!

Anyone who tries to sanitize the evil death cult of Islam is either a fool or a con man and more dangerous than a terrorist.
tim gallagher says
I agree with you, Terry. I just can’t see how Islam, so evil and barbaric in so many different ways, can be reformed. I only have the time of day for those people who up and leave islam, people like Nonie Darwish, Wafa Sultan, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Ibn Warraq and Ali Sina and other ex-Muslims. I don’t for one second believe that Islam can be reformed to a degree where it can fit in with our western values and way of life. It’s chalk and cheese. When I hear about characters like this guy Tawhidi, I always think, why are staying in barbaric Islam, leave the rotten ideology behind. These “reformers” seem to be fiddling at the edges of something which is rotten to the core. I don’t agree that these reformers are more dangerous than terrorists, but I think they are delusional. We need to keep Islam out. Nothing else works.

Aussie: what’s the name of his book? Have you read it? I might be interested in ordering it and reading it for myself. re: teh Jihad Bells song parody. As graven said, grimly hilarious, I heard a similar version to it last year. Also, years ago there was a comedy animation called “It’s Jihad, Farley Towne,” which is a Peanuts parody in which a Charlie Brown lookalike becomes a jihadist. It probably wouldn’t be broadcast on TV anymore, even in most of the U.S., and in Europe and Canada it would probably be banned by force of law as “hate pseech”, although it obviously wasn’t attacking all Muslims.

Real Imam calls for death of fake Imam who reasonably opposes death for blasphemy.
Just when you think there isn’t enough levity in our troubled world.

………………….
Yes–yet another reason there is so little peaceful reform in Islam.
I’ve never been entirely sure how sincere Mohammad Tawhidi is, but I hope he stays safe from his murderous coreligionists in Australia.

As you know, you can’t reform the word of God, and even if you could, how do you revise 1400 years of Islamic history? Oh, silly me. Lying in the cause of Allah is a virtue.
gravenimage says
True, Terry.
But if anyone ever tries, they must be threatened with murder.
Ross Lloyd says
Conversely any Muslim that doesn’t get a pass mark from Tawhidi should be regarded as “fair game”…

Imam Tawhidi sounds like a nice chap.
WPM says
Iman Tawhidi wants Islam to be a religion of peace , an imam in Pakistan of the religion of peace (Islam) calls for Iman Tawhidi death the Islamic logic confounds me .
WPM says
Reforming Islam would be like reforming Nazism, if it was reformed to make to make it peaceful to co- exist with other faiths, beliefs, cultures , laws it would disappear. All it rules, regulations ,prays, are geared to be supremacist over all religious and government laws and cultures.
mike Stevens says
If Australia had shown a bit of common sense in its immigration policy in recent times and kept out anyone who was a potential threat to its society and national security (ie Muslims and black Africans) its newspapers and media would not be discussing and reporting this hateful, primitive bile.
Australia was once a progressive, civilised country. It should not be dealing now with the fallout of its society being invaded by the world’s two most backward and violent “cultures”.
somehistory says
He must be “killed”…but the moslim liar in France, says there “is no killing in islam”
There must be killing and there must be lying about it. Just like islam’s “father.”
satan promised Eve she would “not die,” and then became the “one who causes death.”
Karen says
Tedious, boring fatwa crap.
Tawhidi seems like a nice enough guy, but I’m a bit unconvinced. Much of his angst is Sunni vs. Shia nonsense. Even so, I hope he stays safe from whatever nuts on whatever side are after him. (Sunni, probably.)
Jim says
It was just a matter of time. He is a good man too. He should convert to Christianity. I guess then they, Islam, would really be after him.

Precisely. An ideology that proscribes leaving, or rejecting the ideology, is not a religion, though atheists will disagree.
