Said Mullah Krekar: “The Quran and the Sunnah are the sources of guidance, education, social and ideological upbringing, and Jihadi activity. These two sources exist. The Quranic verses exist and the hadiths are permanent. In Sahih Al-Bukhari, there are 55 hadiths about Jihad, and in Sahih Muslim there are sixty-nine. These sources will not cease to exist. Generations to come will continue to be raised on them.”
In this he is assuming that al-Qaeda and ISIS are carrying out the commands for jihad that are in the Qur’an and Sunnah. Will some “moderate” Muslim go into those sources and explain to Mullah Krekar how he is misunderstanding Islam? Don’t hold your breath.
“Norway-Based Jihadi Scholar Mullah Fateh Krekar: New Groups Will Emerge After Al-Qaeda and ISIS Are Gone Because the Quran and Sunnah Are Permanent,” MEMRI, December 20, 2018:
Norway-based Jihadi scholar Mullah Fateh Krekar, who is the former leader of the Kurdish Sunni Jihadi group Ansar Al-Islam, was interviewed on NRT TV (Iraqi Kurdistan)….The interview aired on December 20, 2018.
Following are excerpts:
Mullah Fateh Krekar: If Al-Qaeda or ISIS were present in a certain place and then lost their foothold, it should not be seen as something out of the ordinary. Even if these organizations disappear, another organization will emerge. The religious sources have stayed the same. The Quran and the Sunnah are the sources of guidance, education, social and ideological upbringing, and Jihadi activity. These two sources exist. The Quranic verses exist and the hadiths are permanent. In Sahih Al-Bukhari, there are 55 hadiths about Jihad, and in Sahih Muslim there are sixty-nine. These sources will not cease to exist. Generations to come will continue to be raised on them. The same goes for the injustice suffered by the people. The Sunnis in the Sunni Triangle [in Iraq] were oppressed, and faced hostile extermination campaigns by the Crusaders.
[…]
Their rights were trampled, their existence was erased, and all aspects of their life came under attack- their beliefs, their affiliations, their tribes, their religious denominations, their economy, the infrastructure in their towns… All these factors still exist, so even if ISIS is gone, another group with the same ideas will come along.
Robert Carrillo says
I think that renaming these folks would help clarify the problem..
How about, let’s say, The Neanderthal Club, for example.. A group of homo sapiens that time and civilization has forgotten, and or left behind..
You see, it’s not about Muslims. It’s ALL about Islam..
Grizzly says
And THAT is why the political ideology of Islam MUST go into the cesspit of history… NEVER to be reborn.
commonsense says
Norway-based, no less. And a Kurd – a member of the group we are told is our closest ally against, as Fox News Pundit Gen. Jack Keane (Ret.) puts it, “Islamic extremism.”
jellydonut says
This is the mistake people make when they keep talking about ‘the Kurds’, as if an ethnicity spread across four different occupying states is somehow going to have a unified political outlook.
What kind of myopic simpleton believes ethnicities follow singular political philosophies, as if the world was a pulp scifi TV show with ethnicities working as trope-following alien races?
There is no such thing as a political faction you can label ‘the Kurds’. There are Islamist Kurds. There are nationalist conservative Kurds allied with Turkey, such as the KDP. There are nationalist conservative Kurds allied with Iran, such as the PUK. And there are secular leftist Kurds, those who are actually the only reliable ally against jihadism, known as the PYD, the PAJK, and the PKK.
Delist the PKK and stop pretending they are ‘terrorists’ because the Islamofascist state of Turkey claims them to be.
Scott Davis says
You missed one important detail – he is a SUNNI Kurd, which is the exception. Kurds practice an offshoot of Islam, which both Sunnis and Shias find heretical, therefore they can be oppressed with total impunity h.
jellydonut says
This is not accurate. Most Kurds are indeed Sunnis. You may be thinking of Yezidis, which practice a unique religion. Some of them also reject the notion that they are Kurdish and claim their own ethnicity.
commonsense says
It takes a jelly-brained simpleton to fail to grasp or ignore one basic reality, which is that Muslim-based and Muslim-dominated societies are inevitably barbarous, due to Islam. In the few cases where de-Islamization was attempted (Iran, Turkey, the Mughal Empire under Akbar), the attempts did not prevail, as Islam proved resurgent and, thus far, ineradicable. Multi-ethnic Lebanon, not long ago a Christian-majority nation, is now an Iranian vassal state, controlled by Hezbollah. My point was that it is unwise to trust any Muslim group or ethnicity (yes, I know there are a few Kurdish Jews and perhaps other Kurdish non-Muslims), expecting reliable, enduring alliances with them. And our friend here, Mr. Jelly, confuses me utterly with his throwaway terms of “Islamists” and (presumably) Muslim “nationalist conservatives.” Don’t bother answering, Jelly. Don’t really care.
James Lincoln says
Mullah Fateh Krekar: “If Al-Qaeda or ISIS … lost their foothold, … another organization will emerge. The religious sources have stayed the same.”
Unfortunately, if history is any guide, this Mullah is correct.
In order to survive, the West needs to be constantly vigilant – and push back hard against the threat of Islam.
somehistory says
He isn’t right about the persecution of moslims being the “reason” for terror groups:: “Their rights were trampled, their existence was erased, and all aspects of their life came under attack- their beliefs,…”
But, he is right about other groups forming. Terror groups formed due to islam are different from groups that are formed for other causes. A group might be formed due to a secular company moving into an area and taking advantage of the local citizens; and a group forms to force them out, or to force the government to do something. (Think ELF or ALF)
However, moslims form groups around islam and its tenets that command moslims to take over the whole world for islam. They are commanded to engage in terror, murder, rape and lying, etc. Some act alone…killing family members, fraudulent businesses, drug dealing, stabbing a roommate or employer, raping a neighbor, etc.
But many form groups of close associates and engage in group terror, or send out members to engage in terror while the group stays behind and plans more attacks.
If the group is destroyed, another will arise to take over. If the group is partially destroyed or just the main members are, the group will continue. They may change their group name, but the goals are the same, the methods are the same, the reason is the same.

“The Quran and the Sunnah are the sources of guidance, education, social and ideological upbringing, and Jihadi activity. These two sources exist. The Quranic …and the hadiths are permanent. …These sources will not cease to exist. Generations to come will continue to be raised on them.”
—
Of course we all know this is true. Except… “Generations to come will continue to be raised on them.” This is the only part that does not *have* to be true. This, Islam’s generational replication, is its weak link. Both China and Denmark have realised this and neither are wasting any more time. To conquer Islam, finally, we *must* break its generational link. Yes, certainly, no more Muslim migration would help. Mass deportations would help. But ultimately, Muslims themselves have to come to see this nightmare for what it is, and grasp what Islam has done to them, a process already underway in the Dar al-Islam, and the countries of the Dar al-Harb have to intercept Islam before it finds the next generation.
If we do not *close down all madrassas* as a matter of urgency, as a matter of national emergency, then, I’m afraid, “Generations to come will continue to be raised on them,” and the next wave will have more deadly weapons at their disposal than the last. We may have stopped Iran from getting its hands on a nuclear weapon, but the cesspit next door already has one, and its leader is throwing his weight around in a fit of delusional grandeur. There will not be another chance. Islam has to be at least seriously crippled *this time round*.
gravenimage says
Anjuli, with all respect, I do not see Muslims shutting Islam down–if anything, there is a major revival going on now in much of the Muslim world.
But you are right–isolating Islam as much as possible has kept us *much* safer in the past, and can do so again.

A truthful comment for once.
Trying to domesticate Islam is like trying to domesticate a rattlesnake.

So this Muslim cleric, basically, admitted the obvious: Islamic terrorism (jihad) has nothing to do with a Muslim’s economic, societal or educational deprivation and everything to do with the evil of Islam itself as expressed in their ‘holy books’ according to the dictates of Satan (Allah).

Wellington says
The Koran is permanent just as cancer is.
James Lincoln says
From a physician’s viewpoint…
Wellington,
You are correct regarding the Koran as being permanent.
Cancer, sometimes permanent – but not always. We all know of actual cures with combinations of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, etc.
That being said, the spread of Islam to the West should be considered to be a cancer – and approached as such:
The best approach is, of course, primary prevention. Prevent essentially all Muslim migration like Poland and Hungary.
The second best approach would be early detection. Being very vigilant regarding Muslim migration, and deporting people who have infiltrated.
Further down the line, we look at treatment. If Islam is localized in a Western country, it needs to be contained and subject to all of the laws of the host country in order to prevent metastasis. Also, Muslims who break significant laws of the host country should be prosecuted and eventually deported.
Once metastasis occurs in a Western country and it becomes Islamized with strict Sharia law, it’s game over unless the host country decides to take military action.
TKF says
Yep…Islam is what it is. It cannot be reformed or reasoned with, and it sure as hell ain’t gonna magically morph into something else. Like a rabid dog, it must be DESTROYED.

This Muslim cleric is correct in his statement that if Al-Qaeda and ISIS were to disappear that new Islamic terrorist groups like them would develop to take their place. This will happen as long as the Islamic Ideology with the Koran and the Hadiths exist. This will continue to happen because the teaching of Islam will continue to motivate Muslims to commit acts of terrorism and form terrorist groups. This will happen because of the unchanging teachings of Islamic Jihad. This shows the need to expose the truth about Islam, that it is an ideology of violence, death and destruction, that Islam is both religious and political, and not a Religion of Peace which is such a common lie to deceive non muslims.
ninetyninepct says
Trump thinks ISIS Has been defeated. Islamic terrorism will exist as long as Muslims exist. Violence and hate is simply Islamic culture.

I sometimes worry about how far Muslims will go to prove that Islam is God”s FINAL word. Pakistan has nukes and Iran is almost there. Will angry Muslims take down the whole World just to be right?

“Their rights were trampled, their existence was erased, and all aspects of their life came under attack- their beliefs, their affiliations, their tribes, their religious denominations, their economy, the infrastructure in their towns…” what he is doing is building a pretext for supposed “defensive jihad”, which Bin Ladin also did extensively, while waging offensive jihad wherever possible.
Scott Davis says
Interesting, for the last 15 years of so, islamic apologists engaged in public debate with non-muslims keep on saying that hadiths of Bukari, when quoted by knowledgeable non-muslims, are somehow now “not reliable”, despite their being quoted/referenced extensively for many centuries.
This mullah/imam/scholar, whatever, sure thinks they are reliable.
Hmmmmm. Are the apologists perhaps practicing taquia?
Michael says
This seems relevant at the moment because of Trump’s decision on Syria.
The main criticism I hear to withdrawal is that Isis has not been totally defeated. And all I can think is that it does not matter, and why is there such a lack of clarity on this issue? How do our political and military leaders, responsible for our security, not understand this? Do they not read of research these topics?
I’m a middle-aged musician living in NYC, and I see that I am in complete agreement with a Muslim cleric; it does not matter what the group is called. The Taliban, Al Qaeda, Isis – the problem is Islam, and it is a hydra.
And as far as regime change via supporting revolutionaries….have we seriously not learned that this doesn’t work? Other than the American revolution, can anyone name some others that have not resulted in horror?
I’ll finish by saying to Mr. Spencer how much I appreciate his work and admire his steadfastness in the face not only of the animus from the Muslim world, which you’d expect, but also the cowardly, seditious attacks from fellow citizens of the free world.
I am reading The Strange Death of Europe at the moment, and I can only read it in small doses as it is unrelentingly miserable to read. The accounts of decades of people like Mr. Spencer, calmly attempting to warn us of the danger we face, being pilloried and destroyed by their own self-hating society (and often eventually butchered by Muslims, or in the case of Pim Fortuyn, a useful idiot) are depressing and angering beyond words.
PRCS says
1. A hydra, for sure.
2. Based upon statements and actions, it doesn’t appear that our political and military leaders actually do understand the subject.
But, on a positive note: Merry Christmas.

Islamic wack-a-mole by any other name would still be the same. The problem is Islam.
Frederick King says
I agree with this creature, regarding muslims will always for jihad groups. This is why we should basically, when we go to war with any, is wipe the group out. Totally. Don’t rebuild their homes, and try to convince them to have a democracy and behave. Wipe them out. In really infested areas, maybe use nerve agents just to hurry it along . Then contain them all in their paradise. Let them live off of muslim lands or starve and breed into starvation. No muslim migration to fresh food sources. Keep them where they are.
ronyvo says
Nothing is permanent except the Word of God. The evil Koran (the word of Satan) survived that long because Islam was contained in the ME. The rest of the world did not hear or know the word Islam. Islam was exposed after 9/11. In my opinion, Islam is on life support. Muslims do feel that and are getting scared and will fight back. But, it will not last that long (1400 years). The movement has already started in many parts of the world.

“The Movement” Still not quick or damaging enough, not even close to being quick enough, islam needed to be gone 10 years ago.
