Jihad Watch

Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Twitter warns foes of jihad terror and Sharia oppression that their tweets violate Pakistani blasphemy laws

Dec 12, 2018 9:00 am By Christine Douglass-Williams

People have long debated the question of how a free society can lose its freedom without a fight. It doesn’t happen overnight. It happens in full view as people help usher in authoritarianism, such as modern-day Leftists who ally with Islamic supremacists and those who continue to deny the reality that it is indeed happening. The actions of Twitter should raise serious concern for everyone who supports free societies.

Twitter has become a Sharia police. Last month, as Jihad Watch noted, Ensaf Haidar, the wife of Raif Badawi, “who has been languishing for years in a Saudi prison for ‘insulting Islam,’” posted an anti-niqab tweet on twitter. She received a notice from Twitter that she was in violation of Pakistani law.

Canadian columnist Anthony Furey also received an email from Twitter warning him about violating Pakistan’s blasphemy laws for his posting of cartoons of Muhammad years ago. Imam Mohammad Tawhidi from Australia is a third person to receive the same such warning.

Add to this the fact that Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan vowed to go to the UN to stop all Muhammad cartoons and criticism of Islam.

Pakistan is a state sponsor of jihad terror that is actively exporting jihad beyond its borders. Aside from spreading Sharia blasphemy laws, its spy agency, Inter Service Intelligence, is now manipulating the general elections in Bangladesh that are coming up this month in order to help the jihadist Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Jamaat e Islami Bangladesh (JIB) to be part of the next government.

“Twitter warns global users their tweets violate Pakistani law,” Channel News Asia, December 11, 2018:

WASHINGTON: When Canadian columnist Anthony Furey received an email said to be from Twitter’s legal team telling him he may have broken a slew of Pakistani laws, his first instinct was to dismiss it as spam.

But after Googling the relevant sections of Pakistan’s penal code, the Toronto Sun op-ed editor was startled to learn he stood accused of insulting the Prophet Mohammad – a crime punishable by death in the Islamic republic – and Twitter later confirmed the correspondence was genuine.

His perceived offense was to post cartoons of the prophet several years ago.

Furey and two prominent critics of extremism in Islam say they are “shocked” to have received notices by the social media giant this past week over alleged violations of Islamabad’s laws, despite having no apparent connection to the South Asian country.

They say the notices amount to an effort to stifle their voices – a charge Twitter denies, arguing the notices came about as a result of “valid requests from an authorized entity,” understood to mean Pakistan, helped users “to take measures to protect their interests,” and the process is not unique to any one country.

But Furey is the third prominent user in the space of days to publicly complain about receiving a message linked to Pakistan.

The other two are Saudi-Canadian activist Ensaf Haidar and Imam Mohammad Tawhidi, a progressive Muslim scholar from Australia who was born in Iran.

Both are outspoken critics of religious extremism and have accused the social media giant of helping to silence progressive ideas within Islam.

‘VALIDATES BLASPHEMY LAWS’

Furey, who detailed his experience in a column for his newspaper on Saturday (Dec 8), told AFP: “I’m somewhat alarmed that Twitter would even allow a country to make a complaint like this, as it almost validates their absurd blasphemy laws.”

The tweet in question was a collage of cartoons of Mohammad that he posted four years ago.

“Looking back, I remember I did it right after there had been an ISIS-inspired attack in retaliation over the cartoons,” Furey wrote in his column, adding he had not posted similar material before or since….

Don’t forget that the bussain regime already shoved this blasphemy BS down our throats back in 2011. The islammunist party has also been very busy in the dark crevices of our government, attempting to pass other, more localized, blasphemy laws to protect their BFF’s, the jihadis, Thus far, their efforts on the local level have failed, but they will continue their push, with more and move adolescents coming out of the “education” system with voting cards in hand.

We should have more sympathy for Jack Dorsey. I think he was sending a subliminal message when he traveled to Myanmar for Buddhist influence. His Twitter is not owned by himself, it is owned by others with a religious-political and censorial agenda. After 911 there was a great deal of criticism of Islam and many powerful voices sought to enforce blasphemy laws in the west. They could not overcome 1st amendment rights so the plowed billions in social media, news media, political spheres, academic institutions, and financial institutions. Twitter is owned by Saudi-Wahhabi interests. I suspect there is funding in Google, Patreon, Mastercard, etc…They use private media, news and financial power to shut down criticism and promote Sharia compliant censorship. They pay big dollars to PR firms to weaponize the word “racism”, then conflate criticism of the doctrine of Islam with “racism”. Jack Dorsey is left, but not unreasonable. He is hostage to his investors.

The Saudis own 5.2% of Twitter stock, making them the second largest shareholder–and a larger stakeholder than Dorsey himself.

This *is* alarming–but it does not mean that Twitter is a Saudi-owned company, and even less does it mean that Twitter has to enable the enforcement of Shari’ah law around the world

Yes, I got a dose of this about a month ago when I pointed out what the Quran advocates. Instead of acknowledging that it was contained in that book I was made out to be the one violating the rules. By referencing the murderous behavior within it I was accused of advocating it. And then I remembered who has a large vested interest in Twitter.

Though no Pakistani law was referenced at the time of my ‘infraction’.
Sad that a foreign entity thinks it controls our thoughts but it seems to be the way of Islam.

This kind of thing happens in Canada. I can think of a few times when Canadians wanting to promote the development of the Canadian oil production, compare it as “ethical oil” to Saudi Arabia’s oil. Shortly afterwards, the Saudis don’t want their oil seen as “unethical” and threaten legal action and everyone shuts up. (No one wants the Saudis suing them.)

I was just saying that although it does sound crazy, it really did happen a few times in Canada. Come to think of it, though, I can see why no one wanted to risk a law suit. With all that oil money, the Saudis could bankrupt them in court with legal fees.

But he doesn’t just condone Russian appeasement of Islam; he lauds it.

Clearly, this has more to do with christianblod’s hatred of the West and desire to see us harmed than it does with the horrors of Islam.

Twitter attracts two types of leftists,Narcissistic assholes who demand everyone follow them or meek lonely people who simply cannot survive unless they follow someone else.

    Cat people are Republicans and
    Bird people are Democrats.

Cats cannot stand being followed and they refuse to follow others either. They are fiercely independent, live alone and are responsible for their own destiny.
Bird people twitter and tweet, their entire psyche can be destroyed and they will surely die should twitter deny them the right to open their beaks and spew their pretzel logic..

I do not twitter or tweet, nor care what these overpaid spokesholes for tyrants say or do. If people dropped these services, they would rapidly disappear. In fact, I think most people would have a better life without these so called social media platforms. They isolate people, especially from reality.

If the Pakistani PM thinks I said or did something offensive, then let him come here and try to do something about it. We already know about his two countrymen that went on a rampage. The locals know how to deal with trouble.

Really !!! Who gives a rats ass what Pakistani law says as the vast majority of people don’t live in Pakistan and are not under their control.

Twitter has no right to act as a quasi Sharia enforcer by informing anyone of threats made by Islam. Their role is simply to provide a platform for users to send messages and communicate with other users.

Twitter was used by Trudeau to eliminate the legitimacy of our Canadian border when he tweeted out a welcome to the world, which resulted in thousands of illegal migrants crossing our border illegally and, so far costing Canadian’s over a billion dollars in just a couple of years.

Twitter users should just abandon that platform and move on to something else less Sharia compliant. It could be that twitter will start demanding more Sharia compliancy by their users, so why use it?

    • revereridesagain says

Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal of Saudi Arabia owns shares in Twitter, the last I heard and Saudi Arabia is getting friendly with Pakistan. Pakistan is so extremist that the people are mental. In a video I saw by Anthony Furey, he asked whether Twitter was enforcing Sharia law or helping him by giving him a heads up about Pakistan. Nobody in any other country should have to care what Pakistani law dictates, but they are radical in Pakistan to a point of crazy, so maybe it is good to know about it. Other than that, Pakistan is a s___hole country that should be worried about acting so crazy that the civilized world doesn’t want anything to do with it.

Pakistan and the KSA have been in bed together for decades (probably in real beds, for all I know or care). Where do you think Pakistan got the money from to develop ICBM’s and Nukes? Do you think the Saudis do not already have nukes ready to attach to missiles to send to Iran if the need occurs?

BTW, the KSA has always rattled the war sword against Israel but does little. They know who stands between the KSA and Egypt, and anyone heading down from the north that would like to move into Riyadh, Mecca, and Medina.

      • Renate says

        Dec 13, 2018 at 12:27 am

Guy, one thing that MbS said on his tour of the West was that if Iran got the bomb, Saudi Arabia would get the bomb, too. That led me to believe that Saudi Arabia doesn’t already have nukes and would only get them as a last resort.

One thing I noticed is that we didn’t have these problems prior to 1979 when Khomeini took over Iran. I wish the people would overthrow that regime and bring things back to normal again.

It’s absolutely unacceptable to have extremists like those in Pakistan in possession of nuclear weapons. Iran could also be doing much more positive things than trying to develop nuclear weapons. Nobody is really threatening Iran or Pakistan. It doesn’t seem to me that they need nukes. They’re the ones who are doing all the threatening.
