Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Washington Post admits that Qatar Foundation used Khashoggi’s columns to spread propaganda

Dec 29, 2018 1:27 pm By Robert Spencer

Here is still more confirmation that the Washington Post is not in any sense a news source. It is a propaganda outlet for the hard-Left and its Islamic allies. No wonder the Post so relentlessly and continuously demonizes foes of jihad terror and Sharia oppression. How many more paid pro-jihad propagandists are on its payroll now? How many are on the payrolls of other establishment media “news” outlets?

“Washington Post Hints What Others Have Known: Jamal Khashoggi Was a Paid Qatari Intelligence Asset,” RedState, December 26, 2018:

A lot of people have been highly skeptical of the way the Washington Post and its fellow outlets have treated the story of Jamal Khashoggi. He is the Washington Post opinion writer who was killed by Saudi Arabian operatives at their consulate in Istanbul. Regardless of the facts and circumstances, a couple of things have been clear from the beginning. First, the Turkish government has used Khashoggi’s death as the core of a full-bore information operation designed to stop US-Saudi cooperation in the Middle East. Second, the Washington Post, for reasons they haven’t fully disclosed, elected to make the death of this op-ed writer a cause célèbre in a way they never did when Obama’s BFFs, the Iranian mullahs, held their Tehran bureau chief Jason Rezaian in prison. In fact, you’d be excused for thinking we were back in the bad old days of yellow journalism when William Randolph Hearst wired his illustrator in Cuba (oddly enough, Frederic Remington), “You furnish the pictures and I’ll furnish the war.”

Anyone who has dug into the the story knows that Khashoggi was not some latter day Arab democrat. In his younger days he traveled with Osama bin Laden and was sympathetic to him and to al Qaeda. He was a hard core Muslim Brotherhood operative and used his writing to serve as their apologist. He was the kind of anti-Semite you’d expect to have that pedigree. Though he was touted by the Washington Post as being in favor of a free press in the Arab world, that concept was not one we’d recognize. He’d recently complained that the Saudi government was allowing papers to say positive things about Israel.

Interestingly, just a couple of days ago, the Washington Post ran a story which started rewriting the hagiography that they’ve created surrounding Khashoggi.

Perhaps most problematic for Khashoggi were his connections to an organization funded by Saudi Arabia’s regional nemesis, Qatar. Text messages between Khashoggi and an executive at Qatar Foundation International show that the executive, Maggie Mitchell Salem, at times shaped the columns he submitted to The Washington Post, proposing topics, drafting material and prodding him to take a harder line against the Saudi government. Khashoggi also appears to have relied on a researcher and translator affiliated with the organization, which promotes Arabic-language education in the United States.

But a lot more is hinted at:

Khashoggi was never a staff employee of the Post, and he was paid about $500 per piece for the 20 columns he wrote over the course of the year. He lived in an apartment near Tysons Corner in Fairfax County that he had purchased while working at the Saudi Embassy a decade earlier. [Note: how did he live in the DC Metro area for about $10K/year?]
…
Khashoggi also appears to have accepted significant help with his columns. Salem, the executive at the Qatar foundation, reviewed his work in advance and in some instances appears to have proposed language, according to a voluminous collection of messages obtained by The Post. [Journalists accepting “significant help” from government operatives in writing stories is a fact of how journalism is conducted in the Middle East, the Post eliding over this speaks volumes.]

In early August, Salem prodded Khashoggi to write about Saudi Arabia’s alliances “from DC to Jerusalem to rising right wing parties across Europe…bringing an end to the liberal world order that challenges their abuses at home.”

Khashoggi expressed misgivings about such a strident tone, then asked, “So do you have time to write it?”

“I’ll try,” she replied, although she went on to urge him to “try a draft” himself incorporating sentences that she had sent him by text. A column reflecting their discussion appeared in The Post on Aug. 7. Khashoggi appears to have used some of Salem’s suggestions, though it largely tracks ideas that he expressed in their exchange over the encrypted app WhatsApp.

Other texts in the 200-page trove indicate that Salem’s organization paid a researcher who did work for Khashoggi. The foundation is an offshoot of a larger Qatar-based organization. Khashoggi also relied on a translator who worked at times for the Qatari embassy and the foundation.
…
On Oct. 3, one day after Khashoggi’s death, while his fate remained uncertain, his researcher contacted The Post to say that he had a draft of a column that Khashoggi had begun writing before his disappearance. It was published two weeks later. [The likelihood that Khashoggi’s last column was ghostwritten to take advantage of his disappearance by making him appear to be an Arabian Thomas Jefferson appraoches [sic] certainty.]…

Qatar funds education groups in the US as the Wall Street Journal and others wrote. The royal House of Al Thani promotes their political and theological agenda around the world. Qataris are spending millions in our K-12 education teaching anti-Semitic, anti-Israel curriculums and promoting Islam. The issue came up with the Newtown, Massachusetts high school. Teachers such as David Bedar are complicit and a “trained propagandist for Qatar.” They find Primary Source which claims to “advance global and cultural learning in schools” and has partnerships with 50 schools in New England. They are funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the Mass Humanities, the Cummings Foundation and Qatar Foundation International (QFI) which is an arm of the Qatari ruling family’s Qatar Foundation. Per the WSJ, Qatar has given $30 million to American K-12 schools and untold amounts to teacher training outfits such as Primary Source. (I learned about the world in grade school by books and in-school films.) Primary Source makes no disclaimers about Qatari funding. There’s more. That David Bedar teacher plotted with fellow teachers over email to harass, bully and “call out” conservative students in the classroom. Yes, high school students! He even admitted to acting as a “liberal propagandist” in the classroom.

Qatari supports the Muslim Brotherhood as well as Turkey’s President Erdogan. So, we have Iran funding their brand of Islam, the Saudis. and Qataris and Muslim Brotherhood spreading and infiltrating their brand of anti-Jew Islam.

Also, Harvard Center for Middle Eastern Studies is funded by Saudi petro dollars which they admit. The center was invited by Newtown school to develop resources to use in the classroom-80 teachers trained in 2010 in “approaches and resources for teaching about the conflict.” (Israel/Palestine) Then parents complained about biased teaching.

“Collusion of left-wing educators to marginalize Jews, Zionism, sometimes America and the West.”

WAPO doesn’t say the organizations. Right, they are not a newspaper, that has been clear for sometime. They lie and obfuscate constantly.

And we have a boatload of paid American traitors all over our country in our government, schools, media, etc Really pathetic. This is the state we’re in. Islamists poisoning our children’s minds with disinformation, greedy Americans who will take money from anyone along with their ideology that ironically doesn’t match their high salaries if they are in universities.

Do ANY of our politicians call this out? Don’t we have laws regarding foreign interference? “Deep State criminals?

Now I just read more of imams talking about sharia law in Canada and the US while WAPO has ridiculously claimed that the idea of Muslims wanting sharia law has been debunked. Lol. I’ve got tons of quotes showing that they, WAPO, et al. are clearly lying.

The 1% are playing a dangerous game they’ll regret. Americans need to stop this. The Leftists are hopelessly stupid and suicidal, but not all liberals have gone off the rails.

*Article titled How Foreign Terrorist Funders Get U.S. Schools To Teach Anti-Jew Propaganda. It quotes the

Do I care where Khashoggi went? No, why should I? And he wasn’t American. It doesn’t like he was much of a journalist and I wouldn’t add him on the annual list of journalists killed. Propaganda newspapers are obvious by what they don’t report and who they do not give a voice to. The New York Times needs to improve too. Many teachers need to be fired.

The Washington Post (WP) may have erred in its vetting of Mr. Koshoggi, but as an institution it stood tall in support of then-candidate Sec. Hillary Clinton.

“If Ms. Clinton is elected,” predicted the WP Editorial Board in October, 2016 in its endorsement of her historic candidacy, “she will attempt to govern an angrily divided nation, working with legislators who in many cases are determined to thwart her, while her defeated opponent quite possibly will pretend her victory is fraudulent.”

These insights proved prescient as a mirror-image of the Trump Presidency.

Unlike the scandal-ridden Trump Foundation, recently was closed under legal threat, the WP Editoral Board highlighted that “the Clinton Foundation has done a lot of good in the world.” These ties include links to Qatar in humanitarian support of social justice in the Middle East and north Africa.

The mirror-image world of the WP is a blessing to the nation as a compelling vision of what is not, but could be. As President, Hillary would have been every bit as deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize as the transcendent President Obama. I’m with her.

You really are a bullshitter, Moshe. The Clinton Foundation was a pay-to-play operation and indicative of how Hillary Clinton used the State Department as her piggy bank, including for her hubby who got hundreds of thousands for a half-hour speech here and there.

Moreover, Clinton and her cronies cooked up the fake dossier on Trump via such shady characters as Christopher Steele and Fusion GPS. Even Andrew McCabe, fired Deputy Director of the FBI, admitted that but for the fake dossier on Trump no Mueller investigation, a witch hunt if ever there were one, would have been initiated in the first place. Learn, will ya’.

Yeah, mortimer, that money for Haiti and elsewhere resides in Nowheresville, never to be retrieved or accounted for. Respecting the Clinton Foundation specifically, if it is not indicative of the DC Swamp and what has happened to the American Republic, then nothing is.

One more “factor” about the Clinton Foundation and it is this: I believe only some 10% collected by it went to various charitable endeavors. So, where did the rest go?

There is another Islamic propagandist who writes extensively for the Portsmouth Herald, a New Hampshire newspaper.

His name is Robert Azzi. He just won the 2018 Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications First Amendment Award.

Look up some of his past articles in the Portsmouth Herald, a very liberal newspaper. It would be a full-time job to carefully refute his articles with evidence-based fact. There are occasional letters to the editor but it is an uphill battle. There are no full rebuttal columns.

The general public is being severely misled.

Ibrahim shows his standard AD HOMINEM DISTRACTIONS every time. He never presents an actual, complete ARGUMENT, thus he proves over and over that Islam cannot be defended with an intellectual defense. Islam is amoral and opportunistic, ahistorical and lacking a provenance, as well as self-referentially incoherent. Moreover, most Muslims refuse to behave in the brutal, opportunistic ways of Mohammed. Thus Muslims demonstrate that they do not approve of PURE ISLAM. Muslims want to be more moral than Mohammed. Since Muslims consider Mohammed morally beneath them, they can learn NOTHING OF VALUE from Mohammed and they may leave Islam with confidence.

Whenever a American newspaper receives notes from a middle easterner to publish ( or any other Islamic Republic of )without understanding the duality of words, and the slander laws of sharia, the obligatory commands of the Quran, the concepts of deception, use of taqiyya, MB, and the roots or seeds of terror it is easy then to be used as a tool for hiding a warfare doctrine or as Stephen Coughlin or Robert might say “strategic incomprehension” without information of the problem. ie enemy. As Robert writes the history…along with others, it is still publically not understood but their books reveal a map and this article is pointing out the problem. But politics is a voting game and facts seem dangerous if leadership turns far left and just refuses to budge for national security.
Good thing WP now recognizes it, just waiting for the dems to take full credit l and twist it for politics, in my opinion. Another great article by Robert Spencer to inform and another reason why we must allow free speech with facts not to be suppressed.
