There were 67 drone sightings at London’s Gatwick Airport. Police have denied rumors that are spreading today that there were no drones. But no one knows who sent the drones. However, the British police and media did all they could to destroy the lives of Paul Gait and Elaine Kirk over these drones. Here are some of the ways they did so:
1. They arrested them and held them for 35 hours for questioning.
2. They released their names to the public, convicting them in the court of public opinion without any evidence that they had actually sent these drones.
3. They refused to speak with John Allard and receive his evidence that exonerated the couple.
4. They “ripped” Paul Gait’s “house apart.”
Why did the police work so hard to destroy Elaine Kirk and Paul Gait? There is only one answer: because they aren’t Muslim, and they afforded British officials a chance to substantiate their ridiculous claim that “far right” extremists pose a terror threat equivalent to that of Islamic jihadists. There is no doubt that some British officials were thrilled at the prospect of Gait and Kirk having sent the drones: finally some actual “right-wing” non-Muslim terrorists! So they splashed their names all over the press, in stark contrast to how taciturn and laconic they frequently get when Islamic terrorists are arrested. How many times have we seen the BBC or some other British “news outlet” tell us that “a man” has been arrested on suspicion of “terrorism,” without giving any details to allow anyone to know what was going on? But Gait and Kirk made them salivate. Here at last was confirmation of their moral equivalence regarding terrorism. A couple’s lives destroyed? Who cares?
If Britain were a sane society, there would be apologies and resignations over this incident, both of British officials and of British “journalists.” But Britain is not even close to being a sane society.
“Gatwick drone: Arrested couple are released without charge – as £50k reward is offered to catch culprit,” by Martin Evans, Izzy Lyons and Charles Hymas, Telegraph, December 23, 2018:
Police who arrested an innocent couple over the Gatwick drone attack were last night accused of conducting an “appalling” investigation, after it emerged they had repeatedly ignored evidence from a key witness.
Paul Gait, 47, and his wife, Elaine Kirk, 54, were released without charge yesterday (Sun) after being questioned for 36 hours in connection with the disruption at Britain’s second busiest airport.
But Mr Gait’s boss, who was with him when the drone attacks took place, said detectives had not even bothered to call him back when he offered to provide an alibi.
John Allard, who runs the double glazing firm where former soldier, Mr Gait, has worked for 17-years, said the couple’s Christmas had been ruined by the police operation.
The 68-year-old said he had been surprised not to hear from detectives after they arrested his employee and eventually took matters into his own hands by contacting them himself.
But he said despite leaving his details nobody got back to him to discuss his alibi.
Mr Allard said: “All it would have taken was for them to call me and contact me as his employer and I could have confirmed that all day Wednesday and half the day Thursday, he was part of a three-man team installing fascia, soffit and guttering at a client’s home in Groombridge, Kent.
“On Friday he spent most of the day running my daughter about because she damaged one of her toes and he was ferrying her to the doctor.”
Mr Allard went on: “I discovered on Friday evening that he had been arrested. I got onto the police on Saturday evening, but I couldn’t get through to anybody.
“There was was just somebody who said I’ll take notes and pass that message on. But they never did get back to me, there was no return contact.”
Mr Allard accused the police of dropping the ball and said the couple would be “mentally destroyed” by their ordeal.
He said: “I know Paul well, he’s worked for me for 17 years and this is going to hit him like a 10-tonne truck. Although there was a complete lack of evidence, the police ripped his house apart. I know this will mentally destroy him.”
He went on: “Sussex Police have really dropped the ball on this. I have always supported the police and I like to think I always would but in this case I think they have really got it wrong.”
The couple were arrested at around 10pm on Friday evening following three days of chaos at Gatwick, which threatened to wreck the Christmas travel plans of hundreds of thousands of people.
But after two nights of questioning at Crawley Police station they were allowed home having been released without charge….

“They aren’t Muslim” –
Are you so sure, that your average British police are competent enough to make such distinctions?
A 5 pound bet says their thought process went something like this:
A) “They’re drone enthusiasts”
B) “They live near the airport”
C) “We need a scapegoat”
And hence, the couple got a knock on the door from the once-respected PC Plod.
Kind-of like whenever a bomb goes off in Egypt, the army attacks or rounds up some Bedouins (any will do)…
mortimer says
Poor analogy… in Egypt, they would accuse the Christians of anything nefarious like this, arrest an innocent Christian to show the police were doing their job, letting the Muslim perpetrator go free, then mobs would riot and burn a church or a Christian neighborhood.
The patriotic Mr. Paul Gait, a former member of the British army, is about the LEAST LIKELY PERSON IN UK to endanger airplanes near an airport.
The police should indeed offer a courteous apology and possibly financial compensation for false accusation and harassment.
JAT 349 says
That is only applicable to muslims savages no matter how guilty they are.

Strikes me the main reason this couple were hounded was because the police could not find any better “suspects” and felt like incompetfools fools !

Robert Spencer correctly observes: “Britain is not even close to being a sane society.” No, it is subject to an epidemic of MASS HYSTERIA about Islam.
UK now has TWO-TIER JUSTICE based on RELIGIOUS DISCRIMINATION and PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT OF MUSLIMS.
UK elites are indoctrinated with a form of MASS HYSTERIA which makes Muslims PROTECTED FROM CRITICISM. This is turn emboldens Islamic terrorists to intimidate and terrorise the indigenous British people.
UK’s MASS HYSTERIA goes to the point of RE-INTERPRETING ISLAM (a supremacist, intolerant political ideology) as a ‘race’ of humans … even though an INTELLECTUAL PRODUCT OR CONCEPT (such as political ideology) is obviously NOT a ‘race’, but an intellectual product which is independent of race, since a person of any race can be an Muslim supremacist.
Kilauea says
The Brits have established a two tier justice system just like the U.S. The difference is instead of letting Democrats (a.k.a. the Clinton, Obamas, Podestas, Epstein) commit crimes against the country, the Brits let the Muslims run wild and prosecute their own citizens for crimes they haven’t committed.
RonaldB says
Peter Bauer, a genius economist specializing in the effects of foreign aid and socialism on the economies of under-developed countries, had a perfect explanation for the actions of the British police.
In the third world countries, they frequently passed draconian laws against criminal behavior. For example, Jamaica had a huge problem with violent, armed street gangs, so they passed laws banning not only guns, but the possession of ammunition.
The problem was, the laws were enforced by weak, corrupt, and ineffective bureaucracies. Also, it was extremely dangerous for the police to mess with real criminals. So, the solution was to focus all law-enforcement efforts on law-abiding citizens. Thus, a businessman visiting Jamaica with a .22 bullet that had fallen into his luggage, got years of prison for violation of the Jamaican gun laws. The real criminal gangs continued to be unmolested. But, by bringing actions against law-abiding citizens, the police and enforcement apparatus of a third-world country could pump up their statistics and look like they were doing their job, all at little to no personal risk.
So, once you look at Britain’s rapidly-approaching status as a third-world country is taken into account, it becomes quite reasonable that extensive police action was taken against a couple unlikely to fight back physically or to have any significant political backing. To mess with Muslims, at the least, bring the police in danger of having Muslim politicians complain or even Muslim neighborhood protests. It’s not in the realm of the impossible that the drone pilots had a suicide vest or two handy in the event of their attempted arrests. So, all in all, just much safer for the police to focus on Gait and KIrk.

I read that Al Qaeda has threatened to attack airports and flights across Europe this Christmas. Whether it is true or not, it must be treated as true for the consequences are too horrific if they did attack again. Birmingham airport has also had flights suspended.
But Islam must be protected re Shariah law and the UK must be sharia compliant.
Thus the UK authorities must go to extraordinary lengths firstly, to keep travellers safe, and secondly to keep quiet about a potential terrorist attack.
They did and are still protecting the rape gangs. I suspect we now know why this poor couple had to suffer.
Ashley says
Yes, I’ve been following the same story re: concerns of a terror attack against airports and/or aircraft across Europe over the next several days.
This caught my eye this morning:
https://elpais.com/elpais/2018/12/24/inenglish/1545648077_354622.html
As for this poor couple…on what basis were they even suspected of this criminal act? And on what basis can operating a drone in the airspace of a large international airport NOT be considered a possible act of terrorism?
Mark Spahn (West Seneca, NY) says
There are a number of peculiarities with the language of this report.
– Someone is quoted as using the word “appalling” in describing the police conduct in this case, but the utterer of this word is not identified.
– The arrested man’s employer said, “I got onto the police on Saturday evening, but I couldn’t get through to anybody.” What does it mean, in British English, to “get onto” the police? To visit a police station? To make a telephone call to the police?
– “Mr Gait was a former gunner in the Royal Artillery”: Why the past tense “was”? Is he no longer a former gunner?
– “Although he had a number of remote controlled aircrafts and helicopters, friends said he had no longer owned a drone.”: The plural of “reindeer” is “reindeer”, and the plural of “aircraft” is “aircraft”. Or is the plural “aircrafts” in British English? And why the peculiar tense in “he had no longer owned”; why not just “he no longer owns”?

…… and your attitude causes less opinions to be expressed for fear of one’s grammar being ridiculed by people such as yourself. If a report is factually correct and informative, that should be fine. It’s not an English language exam.
Please have mercy on us commoners without trying to embarrass us.

+1
Totally agree, Ray.
This wasn’t a “report” as The Truth asserts. It was an article penned by Martin Evans, Izzy Lyons and Charles Hymas of The Telegraph.. THREE “journalists” that clearly lack proofreading/editing skills.
I make my fair share of grammatical errors but I don’t present as a journalist.
Thank you, Mark Spahn, for pointing out the sloppiness of this piece. I missed a few of the finer goofs and appreciate your discerning eye for bringing them to my attention.
Ashley says
Dear The Truth,
Yes…as we comment here we shouldn’t be concerned about being ridiculed for spelling/grammatical errors. I openly admit to being guilty of butchering the written word.
However, I am not a newspaper journalist, writer, editor or proofreader. I am not being paid to be a polished wordsmith.
You “ridiculed” Mark Spahn for pointing out some glaring errors with a story submitted by THREE reporters. That might fly with your standards but I find it annoying as hell.
Anyway, wishing you a happy holiday season and the best in 2019.
The Truth says
Dear Ashley,
Enough of the grovelling.. You’ve missed the point. The message has been conveyed here. Go to the source and whinge there if you haven’t already.
The Truth says
Ashley,
It was Mark Spahn who initially (correctly) referred to it as a “report”. It was a reort on an article. Nobody asserted anything. Not saying Mark is incorrect in his judgement, just don’t need any distractions as to the main message here, that certain types get preferential treatment under the lefist cowards, hence my sarcasm.

Mark Spahn (West Seneca, NY) says
Hello Truth,
Are you willing to help those of us who are not so gifted? I made no claim about imperfect grammar, just my imperfect ability to understand what is being said, possibly because of differences in the handling of tenses and plurals between British and American English. But I’ll be content if I learn the answer to just one question: Who uttered or wrote the quoted word “appalling”?
Ashley says
Greetings Mark Spahn.
You ask a fair question. I had to do some digging and found this in The Daily Mail:
“The cleared drone suspect’s boss has slammed police for their ‘appalling’ investigation after officers ‘failed to contact him for an alibi’.
John Allard, who runs Allard Double Glazing, said he knew exactly where Paul Gait was this week when drones caused around 1,000 planes to be grounded at Gatwick airport.”
I think it is reasonable to ask who uttered the quoted word “appalling.” Journalistic standards are “appalling” these days.
Happy holidays!
The Truth says
Although your question has been already answered I would’ve guessed it was John Allard by his description of the way the investigation was carried out. Regardless, the relevant facts have been conveyed and understood, It is obvious the word “aircrafts” was quoted instead of the word “planes”. In the context of the sentence, that would be a grammatical error.
Xero_G says
Proper grammar is becoming a rarity in today’s texting and Twitter world. I expect mistakes to be made when informally posting comments (I likely made a few in this comment) but professional journalists, writers and their editors should know better. I salute Mark Spahn for at least questioning the decline of language skills, especially by “professionals” such as Martin Evans, Izzy Lyons and Charles Hymas of the Telegraph.
Charles Lutz says
Mark Spagn : thanks for cleaning up sloppy language by some “writers”.

Islamists don’t just like to play cat-and-mouse games with the Police. They like blood and death. Lots of it. And these were not normal drones, but ones with airport proximity systems disabled (through hackimg the software?). That – or they were custom-built… but your average drone from Amazon wouldn’t fly, if it detected it was close to an airport.
Hence this required some skill, and a desire to gain fame and cause disruption, at the busiest time of year – not death.
So why was the first thought that it was Islamists?
Tom says
My question is WHY did they pick that specific couple to detain for questioning?
What did they do that had them on the police radar?
“There is more gravy than grave in this” to quote Scrooge. Were they associated with Britain First? Not that such an association should warrant any kind of police scrutiny.
The UK certainly appears to be very close to a police state and if this couple were targeted simply for their political alliances, then it is moving ever nearer to becoming a police state.
There have to be more facts to come in this one and I hope the alternate media keep digging.
Ashley says
Yes, Tom. WHY?
Well, I found this nugget and laughed so hard I fell off my chair.
I like the part where the authorities didn’t know if Gait and Kirk acted alone or were part of a larger criminal network.
Enjoy!

Isn’t it amazing how one can become a suspect in such a serious isdue simply because “someone” said they saw him with a remote controlled helicopter “years ago”. OMG if THAT is all it takes for British police to suspect a citizen of a crime. Whatabout all those who drive cars to banks, are they to be suspects if a bank is robbed?
The use of such flimsy “evidence” toruin a couple’s life is, in itself, criminal.
Ashley says
Remember, Tom. A “local” reported that Gait toyed around with a remote control car. You know, the kind of thing that thousands of children will find under the Christmas tree tomorrow morning.
Elaine Kirk reportedly had “no interest” in drones and yet she was arrested as well.
The British police probably found a lone AAA battery at the residence and landed their perfect scapegoats.
Oh…and I liked the detail that after their arrest there were no more drone sightings. CRIME OBVIOUSLY SOLVED!

The 2 tiered justice system was invented in the UK centuries ago. One for the peerage and another for everyone else. In being a Jew in the UK was not something you would admit because you could be executed for just about anything. The scene in the book Oliver Twist (1838) by Charles Dickens when Fagin was tried and condemned to death by hanging was very accurate as was his stable of child thieves. The only thing that has changed is who the underclass is. Unlike the United States however this poor couple has little redress in the courts to get compensated for their false arrest.
Carolyne says
I find it amusing that yesterday someone posted
on this site that the Brits were laughing at our president vis a’vis our leaving Syria. The Brits have nothing to laugh about as they have allowed their country to become a police state without a whimper. Their police state considers protecting Muslim miscreants above their own people.

The only saving grace here is that he already has a job and the business owner likes him. If this was a guy that worked for some random company like so many of us his life would be officially guaranteed over! Most likely these people will never be able to work anywhere else even though this clearly has nothing to do with them.
The real privilege l always see is muslime and minority privilege and gay/tranny privilege. Perhaps the first thing the couple should have told the police when they arrived on their doorstep is “we’re muslimes and the wife is a man living his life as a tranny muslime who identifies as a gay black tranny man trapped in a woman’s body” the police would have turned around and walked away after thanking them for being so courageous and adding the obligatory “that’s so cool!” to the wife’s lifestyle choices.

When we know how Tommy Robinson has been treated, then the treatment of this couple shouldn’t surprise us. In the UK we are no longer innocent till proven guilty. We are presumed guilty until we can muster up enough evidence to convince the police to set us free.

Nowadays there are crank calls coming from outside the free world stating that such and such a school has a bomb planted there. This drone event smells like one of those. The Chinese, Russians, muslims or whoever have recognized that hoaxes can be as disturbing as real threats. If you are in the power of doing so, please inform the daft UK police and media of it, although I suspect the UK police already realize they have been duped and still require a scapegoat.

“taciturn and laconic” British police when confronted by Muslims rapists and murderers are little worse than Canadian police who have acted similarly after a Canadian soldier was run down and killed in Quebec by a Muslim, another shot dead while on guard duty near the Parliamentary building in Ottawa, and after the mass shooting and deaths of two girls in the Danforth area in Toronto. We know the last was a Muslim, but never has his ‘motive’ ever been given to the public or speculated upon by police or other officials and a totally gutless, uninquisitive, and apparently gullible media repeats the drivel about the killer having mental issues. This notion is promoted by family and a spokesman who know how to string a Muslim line of ‘taqiyya’, but friends long ago maintained that he was normal and a good guy. Security guards near where he lived tell another story. He threatened to kill either one or both. Having done military service, when on tv we saw on security camera’s this man going about his mission, it struck me that he was very proficient with his handgun, and very composed. No doubt he was trained and practiced his skill in conducting jihad, but God forbid any police spokesman or official would or will say so. Recently two Muslims stabbed to death a 14 year-old boy in Mississauga, outside Toronto, and now there is a police black-out on news concerning this. If the killers had been Baptists the police and media would be hollering the news to world, as they did after a Muslim girl claimed to have been attacked by a man who tried to cut off her hijab. It turned out to be a lie, a totally fabricated story of Muslim victimhood, and then to crown it all there were no charges for her mischief or consequences. Canada is heading in the same gutless direction as Britain because the authorities are cowards and liars.
Henry jones says
Eddie, in 2016, cops shot and killed 4 unset blacks. In that same year 13,869 blacks were killed by other blacks.
So, um, that’s why no one talks about cops killing blacks as it isn’t as widespread as jihad attacks or coverups

I remember reading years ago how the British police force is riddled with freemasonry especially at the top.Freemasonry as we know have always been behind the push for one – world – government since the French revolution as are the left wing of politics. Many muslims are politically left because they see the left wing of politics as being more sympathetic to their causes welfare, immigration etc. Therefore, it makes sense to me for the British police to grab anyone at random in their bid to prove that the drone attack over Gatwick airport came from the far right who I might add are as bad as the far left.
In my understanding the political spectrum is shaped like a horshoe where there is not much difference between the political policies of the far left and the far right. Fascism on the far right and communism and conservationism [greenies] on the far left. The problem with this is that people who believe in a reasonable form of conservativism are being branded as being ”far right” by adherents to the extreme left wing of politics
I feel really sorry for the poor couple who were falsely accused and I don’t mind betting we will never find out who really did it especially if it terror or conservationist related. This will not fit the powerful in British police who obviously have a political agenda.
